I know this sounds dumb, but you can dodge the Gauntlet's attacks by running to the side when it tries to divebomb you, or finding a place to hide if it uses its laser attack. Just be warned that it regens health if it or you leave the arena's area. You'll eventually figure out the timing to dodge its attacks and beat it.

Source: I fought it once before. It was very annoying to fight.

Dodge and use melee if it is in range, and use ranged if it is out of range. Just be careful.

Oh and make sure it doesn't leave the arena through one of the holes, otherwise it will quickly start regenning health.

anything between a bookshelf and the table will block the enchanting power

im pretty sure the max you can stack bookshelfs is 2 high then you stop getting extra power
