if you are using curseforge just right click on the modpack and go into the modpack settings and enable "Allow content management for this profile"

then go into the profile and click the new button "Add new content" and add the mods you want

I've tried everything i could think of. I have a steampunk modpack save I started a couple days ago, last night I went to a an ocean monument and it struggled. I turned it off to head to bed, but all of today that entire profile is unable to properly create, load, or get into worlds. the program stops responding when I try getting into the original world, but when i tried starting a new world, i get a "game crashed whilst server exception in server tick loop", does anyone know anything? I tried increasing ram allotted to it and a few other things, but I can't figure out anything else to do.

I am running it locally, on my laptop.
According to the curseforge launcher I'm running it on, it's 1.20.1, i have not changed the modpack. Its... version 2 of the modpack, I think.
Opening the initial world at all causes the game to stop responding, so I never get a crash log from that.
Creating a new world, I get al the way past the world loading (the square loading bar in the middle) to it showing dots in the middle of the screen, and then it immediately crashes and generates the log I shared above.

As I said, the initial world that possible caused the crash had a few days of play in it, but it was having issues when I visited an ocean monument, and when traveling to the nether on the monument to dry out sponges. I turned off the game for bed, and then it was like this all day today.

just a simple mechanical bearing with chassis and saws. I have it feeding belts and saws to break down into stripped logs and planks but its feeding me like 10 different variations of each spruce, birch, oak, acacia.

you can just go pirate mode and make like 4 or more flintlocks so you can rapid fire without having to wait for the reload time

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". just set up an encased fan with lava, pick a spot in front of it and put a smart chute above with a filter set to only allow ores and a sophisticated barrel/chest on the side with a magnet upgrade filtered to pick up just the ingots. that way you can just set your backpack on top of it and not worry about your important stuff getting destroyed

protection pixel is armor mod that adds plate system. think like assembling a steampunk style armor suit. plates add armor. plates no worky with newer versions of the pack's gun mod because the dev wont listen and thinks that it cant be the fault of his golden child mod

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:

3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. go to curseforge launcher, find the pack, then right click on it to open settings, click on view profile, once there click the 3 dots on the right and press the profile options button, once there make sure you tick the content management checkbox, once you do that press done, then once the settings close click the 3 dots again and you should see a new option called "add more content" click that option and it should take you to the mod search page, search for whatever mod you want to add in your case macaw's bridges and when it comes up just hit the install button, this will add the mod to your modpack plus anything it needs to work, curseforge handles it, once finished installing boot up the modpack and it should work

Disclaimers: adding mods not intended for a modpack can sometimes break the modpack or cause bugs but this isnt that common unless the modpack is meticulously engineered, in your case i think you'll probably be fine, but if things look odd or you run into some issues its to be expected, hope this helped

So ive expanded my storage, and I expanded it over multiple chunks (rather than in one chunk) and now, despite being force loaded, the storage terminal wont show whats in chests in a different chunk. I have added cables, and inventory proxies, so now they show all the items... but now it shows double of some items. Like if I add a stack of cobblestone, it shows 128 cobble rather than the single stack... I've looked up multiple guides to try and solve this but idk if its because im too smooth brained or what but I cannot get this fixed

Still a work in progress, but here's my base. I have the main house, a porch area underneath, and a storage area and crafting space built. Up next is, in no particular order, a farm, animal pens, a mine (got it started behind the house) a water-powered mill (going to make a creek starting at the top of the hill and have it flow through aquaducts, and a wind mill (will be placed above the mine).

Any suggestions for controlling the speed of a minecart without things like engines? I tried using a piston to lift the track up in the middle of the mine to block the cart, but that didn't work at all.

I don't want to chase the minecart all the way to the bottom of the mine every time I want to go down one level.

Those minecarts can move surprisingly fast.
