- Consider installing the JRE instead of the JDK for a smaller file size

When installing through adoptium, make sure that Add to PATH and Set JAVA_HOME variable are both set to be installed (please see https://imgur.com/a/jPu1h7h for how that would look)

Check if java has been correctly installed by running java --version (or java -version on older versions), and seeing if the output is correct (see https://imgur.com/a/OWcoq4p for an example of the output)
- NOTE: 64 bit versions of java ALWAYS have '64-bit Server VM' in the version output. If that is not there, you have installed a 32-BIT version!! If you're getting Out of Memory errors or any other errors, PLEASE install 64-bit
- If the output isn't as intended, you have 2 options.
i) Delete ALL other java versions from your PC (ONLY recommended if you don't need them)

- Uninstall any other java program listed in your programs list (differs by OS, please find a guide for your own OS if you don't know)
- Attempt to re-use the command mentioned above (if the output is now correct, which it should be, you are ready to go)

- For a server, please modify the $Java/JAVA variable (found in your startup script depending on ps1/sh) to the path of your java installation. For windows, this path is usually found in "Program Files/Eclipse Adoptium/version_of_java/bin"
- For a client, depending on whether you use CurseForge, GD, or AT, the process is slightly different. Please see a guide for each respective launcher on how to change the java version.

Just want to let you guys know about an issue that's happening with 3d skin layers and Entity Texture Features. It's strange since I don't see a whole lot of discussion about this problem besides one post #steampunk message. https://github.com/Traben-0/Entity_Texture_Features/issues/230
I believe that this can be fixed by updating Entity Texture Features as it seems to be out of date for the modpack.
This is more of a post to the other users who are also having this issue. Your world file should never be smaller than the log file from a single session...

Don't bother with those types of farms in these packs, spawning in general has been messed with
Use "Create" to bulk wash gravel.
It creates iron from nothing when used with a cobblegen

There’s also a nice far away explosion ambience, and my favorite, the sound of pipes dripping in the walls with lots of reverb.
It’s definitely creating an atmosphere but not exactly what I expect when walking around a very peaceful forest.

Hey all, new to this pack and wanted to ask if anyone else has performance issues with the pack? My frames are low end 30fps and with shaders on I get even less. I play other mods that have shaders and haven’t had an issue with them, just this pack stuggels to run. The specs i run on are 12th gen intel(R) core(TM) i7-12650H 2.70GHz ram is 16.0GB and as I’ve said it runs other mods perfectly but seems to really hate running steampunk for some reason. Btw did I misunderstand something or did I set it up wrong? The advanced wireless terminal is meant to work anywhere across 3 dimensions if a T4 beacon is within 8 blocks of it

The modpack keeps crashing, I play for a few minutes and it closes, it doesn't generate a log with the crash, it doesn't generate a crash report, I simply don't know what's happening, I have 32gb of ram and I allocate 8gb, I'm using the modified java recommended in the faq and it still crashes, I've already disabled villager names and it still crashes

Does it mean the literal beacon block or the structure as a whole? Because the terminal did recognize that a T4 beacon is near it and yet it still does not work outside the 64 block range
Oh wait a second could it be the chunk with the storage is unloaded and so the terminal fails to connect to it?

Hello! For us to help you with your issue, you will need to answer all 8 questions below. Post the answers in this channel:
1. Have you modified the modpack in any way? If so, what did you do? (Updating/adding/removing mods, changing configs)

5.play for about 10 to 30 minutes normally, it has even crashed with me doing absolutely nothing - yes and no, because it rolls back, in a way I pass, but as it's constant, I get stagnant in the gameplay, I've already created more than one world and it happens in different words

Any idea what mod adds the constant ominous ambient sounds? Like a geiger counter ambient sound, etc every few moments? I just downloaded Steampunk to try with a friend and we couldn't figure out what it is that adds it to try disabling

- This time the crash happened about 5 minutes after I entered the world, it crashed right when I ate an apple looking at a mob I don't know, it was a bit rounded and seemed to be a coastal mob, but very strange, I don't know this mob ( I was doing live using OBS version of streamelements when it crashed. Should I continue playing without going live to see if it's a conflict with OBS?)

So I'm at the point I first get into the nether, and my portal was very close by to a soul forge and I tried to take out the monstrosity using guns. Thing is, I didn't knew it could jump... And now I can't recover my corpse anymore since it's camping it, is there any way to reset the boss so I can get my stuff back?

@tender sedge Ok, so a bunch of people have asked about the Geiger counter and other weird ambient sounds, and i think i figured it out.
Just install any of the sound muting/muffling mods (they are client side)
I went with https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/extreme-sound-muffler (you need to remove .ambient from the blacklist in the config though)
And then mute the sound: minecraft:ambient.basalt_deltas.additions
no idea what the source of this issue is tho
