I just downloaded Better Minecraft 2 FABRIC for minecraft 1.20.1, I launched the game and everything was working perfectly until I started loading a new world. An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

idk why YET. but a series of strange events have happened since me and my 2 friends updated our world to v6 fabric 1.21

1. someone now has 2 riptide tridents after a few days of playing
2. I lost my bow and I SWEAR I know where it went but it's not there
   but the thing that convinced me a bug is at fault is when I found that I went from having 2 netherite diamond picks. 1 with fortune 3 and 1 with silk. to having 2 fortune 3 picks.

like losing the bow on it's own isn't that bad. I originally thought I dropped it or something

Hey i'm not fully sure if this is the right channel but, I'm setting up a server on a different hosting service (because i already had a server running just changing the pack) and it doesnt come with bmc preinstaled.
After downloading the server pack I saw that there was no server.jar that I could "tell" the host to use to start, it doesnt allow me to designate the .bat file as a valid starter either, am I missing something?

You would use the ip address of the computer running the server.

You can go to the server computer and find it's ip address by opening up network settings from the wifi/ethernet icon in the task bar

guys i have a problem, i only added the prefab mod to the modpack, i played just fine. i needed to disable it for a moment and when i closed the game and enabled it, the game wouldn't open. it keeps crashing and i don't understand what's wrong in the crash report, can someone help?

8 is probably fine for a single player, if you keep the render+simulation distance low (default should be fine) then that would work. If you increase player count or increase the render+sim distance then you'll want more. I have 4+ players online at a time and I run 16G ram, but usually it uses around 10-11G (increased under load)

Sort of? I've had unexpected shutdowns which sometimes can lose a minute of two of progress, but if you run stop in your server console on /stop from your chat in game, the server will fully save all progress. It usually it does save often enough that unexpected shutdowns aren't the end of the world. Obviously still make backups and do your best to start and stop the server as intended.

The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. Hello, Hope this is the right channel and im not messing this up. but im attempting to play Better MC Fabric 1.19.2 V20 and im having an issue getting back into the game. If i do a fresh install of the mod and reload it through cursed forge it goes through perfect and im able to play on the server that i play on. But if i try relaunching the mod either later in the day or the next day, i am un able to load the game as i get a "The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not execute entrypoint stage 'client' due to errors, provided by 'serverbrowser'!" I have not modified the game in any other way. Thank you in advanced as it means alot. Attached is the crash log. been loving the mod pack anyway!

but villagers can sell mendings books which can be applied to everything so

Hey Im playing the 1.21 version of BMC3 and the forceloading from Open Parties and Claims is not working.

I have claimed and pressed the forceload selected, as shown in the image i only have "unforceload" as an option, but
whenever I log off the server the chunks become innactive, this has been the case for my iron farm and furnace array.

Is there any extra requirements to make it work? or is it fabric being fabric?

forceloaded chunks dont load when the player is offline by default

you need to change it from the config screen ingame or in the files
