if you want the smoothest experience when it comes to tps then you need to pregen your world
it'll take a day to be sufficiently large enough but its worth it

it is an issue, i suggest not randomly pressing right click on mob enchant books
you can maybe turn on some forge config setting that deletes error-ing entities but i dont recommend it

scary thing is it's not an immediate crash. it just slowly lags your server until it crashes

we're not even sure if it was those things because u didn't send the files for the first crash. But you can always try disabling the mods as a bandaid fix and see if it crashes again or not

Just avoid them, they take items from you anyway
You're better off getting a guard tower setup
it lets a citizen patrol your area & you can give em armor n stuff if you upgrade the tower enough
To kill the Mercenary's that are crashing you, you could open the world in NBTStudio and see if you're able to remove them from there
Or you could change your coordinates to somewhere away from the mercenary's and then use /kill to get rid of them
