But tbf I always just get a tier 3 book from a villager or get lucky and find it randomly in a tower

I only play madieval MC (no vanilla, almost no other modpacks for 2 years), made a server of almost every version, and so i highly recommend the MMC5, its more balanced, easy to manage and customize, also immersive, i do miss the specializations from MMC4, but they were a bit too op, also the magic is like the focus on the 5, and so mele enjoyers didnt like it, but it was easy to fix. Also i do like the focus of the 5 in cooking, farming, fishing...
What are the most notable differences between the Medieval MC (Fabric, Forge, and Neoforge modpacks)?
Anyone know how to fix these structures glitching into each other ? I added sparse structures but it changed the seed completely after. Or should I just deal with the wackiness ? 🤔
MMC5 1.21.1 neoforge. The map and biomes just changed completely after sparse structures was added 🤔
don't know much about fabric but what I heard that it's a bit light in performance compared to forge/neo.
as for forge version it has updated content and leveling system where world get progressively harder (highly recommend)
neo version felt like a bit of old version of MMC with the freedom of exploring world since there's really no exact progression system unlike forge version
hi, im having a bit of trouble. I'm trying to make a crative world, but everytime the loading gets to 100% its says "connection lost" and then a button to 'back to server list' pops up, and sends me to the servers multiplayer screen. how do i fix this?

Can someone tell me what mod makes it so that when you don't use an item in your hand for a period of time, it hides?
It's not so much that they are "glitching" into each other, but they are spawned into one another due to Vanilla being weird.
Also, adding and removing mods does make the seed have to generate differently, especially since Sparse Structures tells the game "keep these structures distant from one another".
Yeah i might just vibe with it tbh. Sparse structures is interesting because it actually changed the biomes too

MMC5 has the mod Structurify to increase the space between structures, there shouldn't be a need for Sparse Structures.
Do I need to adjust anything on Structurify config before generating a world ? I appreciate that I didnt see that mod on modpack index
I don't know honestly, it's up to you whether you want to try it on your current world or just stick with Sparse Structures now. I haven't changed such settings before so I don't know what would happen :D

Hi guys... I am having some issues with mmc5... I run a lan server for me and a couple friends and my log is full of spam when I open containers/backpacks.

also, (possibly unrelated) I am getting lag every few minutes, where everything just stops for 5-10 seconds. I love this pack, but I have no clue why its doing this (the lag isn't present in other modpacks I have run)
You can safely ignore those messages. It likely comes from a version-change in a recent update that removed the shadow-school, so it replaces it with ender. Once all items related to it have been updated the messages will stop.
As for the freezes, how much RAM do your PC, the server and your client have?
my pc has 32gb, the server has 24gb (both set to 8gb in MC)
Your PC needs some RAM to run background processes, giving the server 24 GB and the client 8 GB doesn't sound like a good idea. Try giving the server 8GB and leave the client as is. How many players are playing on the server?

no more than 4 people on the server at a time, but the lag happens even with just me.
Next time it freezes please send a screenshot of your F3 debug screen as well as the RAM and CPU usage in your task manager.

Whats the best Light weapon build (with gems and what stats to increase in reforging table) in MMC4 1.20.1?
I got a heavy weapon with reforged 12% current HP dmg and +6% current HP dmg from a gem. With 100% crit chance and 400%+ crit dmg… so basically every mob is oneshot with this weapon
And i dont want that it takes out the joy of fighting. Thats why i want a light weapon with not that current HP dmg. Maybe the one gem that gives only 4% current HP is fine but i dont want a heavy one shot weapon
Any tipps for a lighty weapon that still does dmg but not oneshoots?

But I had a lot of fun with a rapier in Hazen n Stuff and Iron's Spells and Spellbooks on MC5 1.21.1 and I stacked at least three atk speed gems and either a gem that increased base dmg or armor pen. Though that may also take the "joy out of fighting" but just in a different way.
Is atk speed really that important? Ive read a lot about that but idk man hahahaha
It's great for DPS against bosses. I used to always do slow heavy hitting but holding left click and just mowing everything down as you walk is so much more fun to me 😂

This is more of a minecolonies question than MMC, but if I put a building one block inside of another of the same building (so same block in the coordinate for both buildings) will it cause issues, or will both builders check it off as built?

If it's the same blocks in the same coords (and not blocks where the other building has minecraft:air) it should work fine. I'd probably still choose the safe route and build them one after the other and not simultaneously, that way both houses are definitely useable afterwards (in worst case one builder "replaces" the blocks of the previous builder with the same blocks).

It looks like your PC ran out of memory. You can lower the allocated RAM to 8192 instead of 10000 (it should still run fine, I am using that amount myself). If you have any other programs running in the background, like browser, Spotify, Discord etc, close them if possible.

In the "processes" tab you can see how much RAM each program uses.
Okay that sounds more reasonable. Keep in mind that the allocated 8GB are used for Minecraft itself, the Java environment can use additional RAM so that you might end up with 9 GB used while playing (I've had mine use up to 10GB with 8 allocated after playing for prolonged periods of time). So make sure to run as few other programs on your PC as possible to avoid a lack of memory when playing.

Also, next time you're ingame press F3 and look at the top right corner to make sure it is indeed using 8192 MB and not 10000 still for some reason.
(The actual number shown might be a bit lower, but it should be closer to 8 GB than to 10 GB).

46 seconds seems kinda long to locate a village. When you delete the \world folder and launch the server again, does it do the same thing?
yeah, I wiped everything from the vps and uploaded the server pack again and it show the same error
Hmm, you could make a world in singleplayer, then replace the level.dat file in the \world folder on the server and delete the \region folder inside the \world folder on the server. It should know the spawn location then already.
Okay it magically found a village now and started generating the world, the only difference is that i started it from a screen not the main terminal

Well Treasure Goblin is number 1, if you have enough luck he'll crash your game in gems

If you shred 5 armour off something that has 20 armour, you're still left with 15

It takes the current health of a mob, calculates a percentage based off the current value of the attribute (so 18%) in this case and that's the base damage
Then it would calculate any critical damage off of that value so in this case x5 or more depending on RNG
And then any other damage would be added on and calculated too
so mob has 10k hp with 18% i get 1800 dmg and than times 5 its 9k dmg?
so its basically a one shot if i can shred the armor

The forge-upgrades should be in JEI, but yes, the book contains additional information about items mechanics. It's not the most comprehensive guide (it's not made by the mod author actually) so if you still have questions, you can always ask here.
In your main directory (where the \mods folder is, too) there is a \patchouli_books folder. Stuff it in there and extract it. Should be good to go then.
Do I do that serverside or client side or both?
if it's just a resource pack i assume therhetically just serverside should work

In MMC1 there was a structure with extra dragon eggs, but I haven't seen that in MMC4. I don't think you can get more than 1 egg here.
You could add Ice and Fire dragon eggs as valid upgrade items in the config though.

Like i have fill enchanted prot X dragonsteel armor with max attributes in armor and toughness. And affixes like takes 30% less physical dmg, magical dmg and projectile dmg on all pieces.
And idk what that atk was from the harbringer, but he took 2 out of my 6 healthbar rows with a hit
But my weapon has life steal so i just went all in then i was full again

Max for Prot is 85% dmg reduction. And each prot gives 2.5% so with prot X on all 4 pieces thats 40 points so about the 85. but its capped at 85%
So i got full there and some pieces ignore physicsl dmg and magical and projectile
So pretty much i reduce so many dmg idk how hard they beed to hit to get me
And 300points of armor and 150 thoughness
It should be noted, that's a % bonus to your flat crit chance
If you click the sword in your player icon in inventory you can scroll down to see how your actual crit chance is calculated
Laughs in 20M hp with full Protection, 10k armor and Current HP damage resistance
And don't get started on the damage outputs

All good, got a few questions to have an idea what could be happening. Who is the host you are using? How was the modpack installed to it? (The host installing for you or downloading serverpack and installing it yourself) Is the server crashing when trying to turn it on, or when you try to enter the server?

Which one is the best according to you?
I've personally only played MMC1 (on Minecraft 1.16.5) and MMC4 (Minecraft 1.20.1). So I can't give you a proper evaluation of MMC3 and MMC5. 4 and 5 are still getting updated, while MMC3 doesn't, so I'd certainly recommend one of the two latest versions. Generally speaking, from what I heard, MMC4 has a bit more content and MMC5 a bit better performance.
Who has this? Is it a boss? Or your player?

So, I was building a base in the side of a mountain, (for a long while) and when I went outside, I found llamas. Like 50+? I didn't count them, but there are a ton. Anyone know what that is all about? They all have leads and loaded inventories, like they were part of a caravan, but there are no traders or other mobs around. Just groups of 5-10 everywhere I look directly above my base
Is there a known issue with their spawns, or is my game just being wierd?

From what I understand the tome was an item in older versions of Blood Magic (versions 2.x), but after the rework it hasn't been implemented yet (versions 3.x). Since it's still mentioned in the guide book though, I assume it will be added back sometime in the future.

Well I don't know how compatible it is with MMC4 but you could try addin Sophisticated Backpacks. It adds upgradeable backpacks and one of the upgrades is tank and another is xp pump to fill the tank

This is really late, I was underestimating how much time I had outside of exam prep, apologies for not responding.
Not really, it's somewhat strange really. When you log in, it sets the attribute that Iron's Jewelry uses, irons_spellbooks:max_mana, to the value of the attribute that is seemingly used by all other mods, ars_nouveau:ars_nouveau.perk.max_mana. So both attributes are set to the wrong value at that time. Then if you unequip and equip the items, Iron's attribute is modified again and both attributes now has parts of the max mana and neither is correct.
Right now if you have a base mana of 100, +50 added from another mod and have a ring from Iron's Jewelry that adds 250 mana, your max mana is 150 and the attributes has the following values:
irons_spellbooks:max_mana: 350
ars_nouveau:ars_nouveau.perk.max_mana: 150
I presume that the compat should make the items from Iron's Jewelry modify ars_nouveau:ars_nouveau.perk.max_mana rather than irons_spellbooks:max_mana since that is the attribute that is shown in the mana bar.

When I installed the update, the Hazen n stuff mod was version 1.2, whereas before the update it was 1.3.5. Is that how it should be? I lost a lot of items from the world.
The rings are gone too. I had two rings for 300% extra HP, now they're gone.

Yeah, this was a change made in v29 HF so it wasn't anywhere in announcements:
"Hotfix - Downgraded Hazen n' Stuff to 1.2.0, due to various issues in 1.3+ that were only resolved after it ported to AzureLib 3.1+, which 4 other mods in this modpack don't yet support."
you can always update it to 1.3.5 yourself, though it may have issues (to note, +300% max HP rings don't sound intentional lol)
The elytra from deeper darker can no longer be equipped with a cloak, which is very inconvenient. Where can I see the full list of changes?
And okay, I understand the rollback of the hazen mod version, but it would have been worth writing about it. Maybe it was written, but I just didn't see it. Although I switched from version 29 to 30 and lost a bunch of stuff that I spent too much time on. Good thing I have a backup. But there are players who didn't do that.
Now, for every step I take in the game, the FPS drops from 100 to 0.

In the origins config you can set "medievalorigins:ogre/unwieldy" = true to false.
Only Maledictus, Ignis and the Ender Guardian can drop esoteric affix items, once you maxed out your skill tree.
Can't see a yeti in here. Did the server actually crash? Then there should be a \crash-reports folder in the server's directory (the file you sent comes from \logs instead).

Esoterics aren't necessary to progress at all, they're just an optional post-game grind for people who want to minmax funny high number

Yeah, I don't know what's causing it either. You can either unequip everything you have and then re-equip slowly and check when it starts happening, or send the level.dat file of your world-save (assuming you're in singleplayer).

and when i wield the heavy weapon i have less max health because of not getting my shield buffs

Well the function just simply calculates the percentage of missing health that you have
However, when your maxed health is changed, it doesn't immediate update your current health if you lost max health, it only does so if you take damage or heal (I think)
From player.getHealth() / player.getMaxHealth() only a value between 0 and 1 should be possible but in your case it's unintentionally greater than 1.
All that would have to be done to fix this is to just add a min function and set the second parameter to 0 so that you can't get a negative percent this way.

Like you can see here, even though I only have 33 Max Health, the game thinks that I have 37 Health on me because it was originally 37 Max Health before unequipping my helmet and the game hasn't updated my health value yet to reflect that. Only if I take damage would it properly update to the new value (or lower if it was a high damage attack)
I could just slip my helmet right back on now and it would maintain the extra health and act as if nothing happened
yeahh i figured it also out that unequiping and equiping armor pieces refreshes it i just didnt know why
I believe that Minecraft or Apotheosis (or Neoforge I'm not sure) fixed it in 1.21 so that they do properly update

In MMC4 mob level mainly depends on the amount of points in your skill tree and the dimension you're in.

I often like to throw Create into modpacks when I can to make automation of basic necessities easier
Invest a little time into setting it up and never have to worry about things like food or wood or emeralds ever again
Personal preference though
They do, they only have different versions to account for major Minecraft updates (1.21, 1.20, etc)

I have a Server with my Friends and we want to kill the Nightwarden. But he takes absolute zero damage. We tried every spell possible and also counterspell him, but nothing seems to work.

You need to fight based on what combat phase he is in.

Yea this is exactly my Problem.
I know that in his first phase he only gets damage from Magic. But we use every spell from spell and spellbooks but he takes Zero damage from it
Did you try anything specifically added by TO’s? Like, the weapons dropped from the cataclysm bosses that have built in spells?
No just spellbooks and staffs and the corresponding Spells Like lightning Lance, Triple Fireball, etc.

The abyssal spells are a bit wonky
And afaik there's three of them that destroy blocks and items
The black hole or wormhole spell whatever it's called, is a world destroyer. I can't remember if it's duration limited or cancellable, but I avoid usin abyssal spells altogether

If you want a black hole spell that doesn’t destroy blocks or items, use the ender spell

Make sure the blocks used are the right blocks, there are a bunch of them that sound really similar. Also make sure you have one of the gold ring ones under the smithing table

The mob spawners from apotheosis (not boss) can also have chests under the that give magnetic cage spawn eggs
