You can try increasing the amount of RAM allocated to the game. If you're on curseforge, goto your modpacks, right click the modpack you're usin, click profile options, and where it says memory settings click Custom RAM Allocation, then either drag the slider or type in the MB preferred. Most modpacks will need at least 8GB (8000MB) to run well. You don't want to go much higher than needed though, if the pack only needs 8GB, then at most go for 10GB. When you launch a modpack and the game is going through the loading phase it'll show you how much RAM is needed on the red screen loading bars.

MMC4 has more stuff, MMC5 has better performance. I personally have had a better experience with MMC5. One huge mod difference is Origins. Depending on the ones you pick it can significantly alter your gameplay. Some origins are incredibly overpowered too which kind of ruin the game balance.
I forget which one it is but it's like a sun warrior. You get bonuses to your dmg dealt and you take more dmg, but with all the mods MMC in general has to buff your stats, like Apoth. and the skill trees, your dmg can get ridiculous with that origin. Especially if you combine it with Haephestus (iirc), since that deals bonus T%hp dmg
I am slightly disappointed that MMC5 doesn't have the Epic Knights mod, but I mostly use wizard stuff so it ends up not matterin much. Would be cool to have all my colony guards dressed up in knight armour though

One of my players had a habit of picking inconvenient origins lol
She picked one that prevents you from wearing heavy armour, then she switched to one that flies but dies in water or exposed to rain, it got to be kind of a runnin joke
The weakness Valkyrie has is that being near undead slows you down a bit

MMC4 and MMC5 are different modpacks with different mods, and even using different mod loaders (one is Forge, the other Neoforge). So no, transferring a world would most likely be messy.

Yeah it has Ice and fire, and loads of extra iron spells stuff.
Seems like it's still gettin new stuff for irons as well, updatin to the latest modpack version got us radiant, shadow, and occult stuff

If you're op on the server you can go to the FTB menu in the top left then click the gear icon, dependin on how the config is set up you might have server settings in there
Last time I played multiplayer with FTB Teams it was a bit weird, there was both a /ftbteams and a /teams command, but the friendly fire was only able to be turned off via the latter. If you can do /team add [name], do /team modify [name] friendlyfire false afterwards.

It's just auto upgrading
When you remove a mod that has blocks in the world, the server will 'upgrade' them to vanilla blocks to avoid crashing

I got a question, does anyone else experience Frame drops like I do? For instance I got a ROG astral Rtx 5080 and r7 9800x3d and 64gb ram ( 32gb allocated to mc) yet I am experiencing frame drops up to 20 fps which is honestly sad any recommendations/fixes? (I use the shaders from the modpack aswell)

Nah wait, I figured it out. Press Esc - Mods - search for 'Traveler's Backpack' - Config - travelersbackpack-server - Server - Backpack Settings - set "Back Slot Integration" to OFF.
Then you get the three dots and can also use the sleeping bag.
Odd that that would be enabled now, do you have an old world with a backpack equipped to test if loading in with that config deletes the backpack?

Well, that was probably a useless attempt by me: the backpack-integration is in the serverconfig, which, as you know, is inside the save-folder. So I just copied that over, too.
Any player who moves their save should be fine, the setting only applies to worlds that are newly created on the latest version of the modpack.
Out of curiosity I changed the setting for my world though before joining. I cannot access my backpack with the keybind anymore, but when I open my inventory it is still here:
I cannot open it here either, but when I click on it I can put it into my inventory. So it's not lost.

I would actually prefer it's equipped through Curios, I think that's what most new players expect

It's strange that you don't have a button for the sleeping bag though when the curios integration is enabled.
And a backpack is a must-have, so the back slot would be occupied and no "real" curios for the slot could be used. Maybe a separate curio slot for a backpack would be a nice addition then.

It seems that for some people the gravity change got stuck permanently. If I understood muon correctly, it should be fixable with the command
/attribute @s forge:entity_gravity base set 0.08

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
so question for MMC4 since the additional loot rolls have been removed does that mean esoteric farm is just nerfed fully? having to rely on looting alone wouldn't really suffice
given how absurd lvl 180 bosses are esp with magic
also dunno if ppl notice but the potion charms resets it's duration after the initial duration (e.g. flight reset after 10 second making you fall as in you never have perma flight)
is there any way to downgrade the version? playing the current MMC4 version really felt like a total downgrade esp with how much time invested on it
If you updated through the CurseForge launcher it made a backup of your previous version in .curseforge\Backups
I played thru ATL unfortunately
seriously no offense on the update itself but hopefully the team can investigate the potion charms buff running out compared to the previous version where it has 100% uptime without the buff ever refreshing
as for my experience on killing the bosses it took 2 minute extra longer than before idk if there's like secret nerf that happened behind the scenes but I hope a response can be addressed for this
hello im very very new to any kind of mc modding, i recently installed the modpack from curse and ive had 120 fps average 1080p which is good but like
my computer usually gets alot more
so i was wondering if maybe like optifine or others like it arent enabled by default

I don't know what kind of PC you have, but 120 FPS is not bad for a heavy modpack like this one. I'm not sure what you are comparing it to either, if you compare it to vanilla Minecraft or some other game, that's apples and oranges.
High frame rates make the gameplay appear smoother, but anything above ~100 has diminishing returns, so the effect becomes less noticable - especially in a game like Minecraft where the movement isn't particularly fast.
To answer your question though: the optimization mods are all enabled by default.

The only thing I did was temporarily remove the presence footsteps mod because it was interfering with this other mod I installed which was called sounds. I did that because I liked how it changed the sounds in MC for all the other blocks and the GUI. But the reason it crashed was because I went to the everdawn wizard tower to fight the boss there and then after looting I teleported to my way point I made at the nature dungeon and then after a few seconds my game became extremely laggy. I have modified my settings to the best they should operate at. My PC is quite new since I've only owned it for about a year so I figured that with an RTX 4060, it should be able to handle modpacks like this as my other PC struggled to even load a forge modpack like this.

i didn't figure out how yet but legendarytooltips cause memory leak sometimes. i can't reproduce and this has happened to me more than five or six times, and it doesn't get fixed until i close and reopen the client. i found https://github.com/AHilyard/LegendaryTooltips/blob/d104a9ee5c41c0bc5d63e825c2d8d1cf09c7f2b8/src/main/java/com/anthonyhilyard/legendarytooltips/config/LegendaryTooltipsConfig.java#L104 as a source of issue from heap dump.

Yo, I'm trying to worldshare on Medieval MC, and it worked yesterday for another friend (who was close by) but today I'm trying with 2 friends who are 2 hours away and they can't connect. One got to 'Encrypting' then it said failed to connect. My Internet connection has its moments, but it seems to be consistently good as of late, so I'm not sure why they can't connect. Not sure if distance really affects it that closely or anything, but I figured I'd mention it regardless.

Shortly after they try to join and being met with failed to connect, I get the, "an error has occurred in Luna" message.
When the IP is typed, it can recognize my server and world name, but the issue is only arising when trying to connect. :/

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.
The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.
For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.
Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.
If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50

My theory was correct
It was strictly from something wrong with the chunk/surrounding chunks
Through console I teleported myself to another player and, like practiced in theory, I did not crash and the server did not crash, so the issue is effectively resolved, but the area of the world I was in is still very much…alive

I feel like I have good gear .. but enemies are still hitting for a good portion of my 70hp in a single hit and are taking the occasional 25 damage from spells but mostly they take like 6 damage and have 150+ hp and I'm not even 30 blocks from spawn
well I don't know how "good" is your gear but my suggestion is try playing with range or use a long reach weapon
your level is also important especially with the ramping difficulty

When you open the mod's .jar with your zip-program you'll see all the music tracks as .ogg files, which the average music player can play. It's not that many, you'll find the End track pretty quickly. The mod is at the very bottom of your \mods folder.
MMC5 1.21.1 v28 Curse Forge exception error: I keep crashing due to a null pointer exception error, anyone know a fix? here's the latest.log. It not appearing in JEI makes me think that Forbidden & Arcanus removed the ore, but I can't find any source on the internet that supports that. If you updated the modpack through CurseForge you can check in the \Backups folder of your previous version of the mod version of Forbidden & Arcanus has changed in the recent update. If yes, try it with the older version of the mod.

I suppose it depends on what stage everyone is at. If power is what you seek, you'll have much more luck investing in reaching the End and looking into Iron's Spellbooks specifically

I mean I guess the main point is you start getting exp by using whatever skill tree you want exp in (ie mining for the mining tree). You then get levels which increases you're skill point in that tree by 1, pick one of the lit up nodes and click it. You are then reduced by 1 skill point but given whatever boost the node said you'd get. SOME nodes lock you out of others permanently while you have to progress through connected nodes to reach other nodes you may want

also consider using shield since it has auto block on chance

Hey. Recently I’ve figured out that there’s an issue with segmented entities that causes crashes and for them to be unkillable. It’s why my server kept crashing upon a player entering certain chunks-there was a candy cavity biome underneath and thus, a gum worm. Not only that, but twilight forest progression isn’t possible because the naga is also a segmented entity.
I’m not really sure what to do in this situation

as far as i remember from chimneyswift11 playing witchery way back in b-team, the way you become a werewolf is to get bit by the werewolf i think. or catch him. usually a villager will be a secret werewolf and to find one in the day, use a wolfs bane flower on a villger. either right click or sneak right click i think
lead a pig on a fence and set up some werewolf traps to catch him
as far as how much the just another witchery mod has compared to the original, i'm not sure yet. but i would assume you just do the same

it's not crashing like that. it like, kicks me from the game and then in the background the server throws out some code before crashing

nope. the only thing i changed was i updated the witchery mod

I would suggest to start with a server reinstall (and try not modifying it to see if it works without your changes)

Okay, I know Essential isn't supported by default, but I'm out of free options that run even slightly good. However, when I try to access the problematic mods config, it either:
A. Opens as an HTML link that (as far as I know) can't be edited in internet explorer
or B. Opens with notepad, and despite saving the "false" value, still crashes
youre on your own as we dont share stuff on how to disable it

Anybody else experiencing desync? Ill be trying to place blocks and the number of the item in the hotbar will go down but the blocks will basically disappear. Have to disconnect and reconnect for the "missing blocks" to return to my hotbar. On MMC5 version 28. Edit: So apparently if you place a different block where you wanted to place the other kind of block, the "missing block" will return to your hot bar. So maybe not desync but an inventory bug? Edit 2: Its my Shadowsting sword from Simply Swords doing ALL of that.

Magic is better, Iron's spells helped me through a lot of trouble throughout a lot of the boss fights

guys i think i figure it out. so the reason certain apothic invaders will crash your game is because of a certain attack that has a "radius" indicator. and when the mob tries to do that radius attack, a white ring shows up around the mob showing it before it crashes

Not sure if it stacks or if both use the base xp value as reference (in other words, whether the +40% etc is applied before or after KotA), but I use the xp-gems nevertheless on my farming sword.

Mythic rarity items are fairly common in the End dimension.

If the server owner disabled those dimensions he either doesn't understand the progression in the modpack or he must've provided an alternative possibility to get mobs at high mob levels. Perhaps ask him about it.
Well, with enough points in your skill tree the mobs in the other dimensions like TF, Blue Skies etc should drop Mythic items as well. Unless he disabled all other dimensions?

My server updated from v26 to v28 and some of my players have been havin an issue where they hit something once and then they can't hit it again. Sometimes it's fixed if they punch the ground and then try to hit again

Alright next time it happens I'll grab the logs for it. Whenever it does happen I don't really see anything happen in console though, other than the usual stuff like block replacements
If the effect appeared "from one moment to the other" I'd assume that it was the moon phase that started there. However, if the inability to jump persists afterwards during daytime still, the effect got seemingly stuck. We can fix that, but we'll need your wife's playerdata file. I assume you play on a server? Then go to your server's world-save folder, into \playerdata and send your wife's .dat file. (Since I only know your username and not hers, I can only tell you that it is NOT the file with the name 2fb54144-8798-49e5-bdbd-229c255eb1b3.dat but the other one).
Does anyone know how the enchanting works for apotheosis? I've been looking for tutorials for guides to get the highest enchantment and all of them are for ATM's and when I was following a guide by one person, the enchantments were completely off by a lot
There was also a bookshelf that was not in this modpack but in the video it was in that guy's
Apotheosis' ingame guide book, the Chronicles of Shadows, explains how enchanting works and what the different stats (eterna, quanta, arcana etc) mean. To find items that provide these stats you can simply type "Eterna" into JEI.
Right, I did use that and it gives good information about the quanta and all of that and maybe I need to read it again, but I'm looking for what bookshelves to build to increase the percentages and which bookshelves will do that faster and also where I would place the bookshelves because I noticed that when I put them too close to the enchanting table, it messes up the stats

relatable. sounds like it needs different players to join. me and my bf just do some casual building and organization of all our stuff. i'm also trying to be a beast master by taming the apothic invader wolves and modern remanents that spawn xD
yes. can confirm 100% that when an apothic invader spawned with this white aura ring and it crashed me, i used the /kill command in the server console and it dropped the helmet causing the issue. i put it on and when a spider and zombie hit me, it crashes me and causes the mobs to freeze

Infused Sea shelves, then Infused Hellshelves and infused deepshelves. I think you need like 22.5 eterna before being able to infuse anything, but from there each type produces enough to infuse the next type.

Hi, I have a problem with ars nouveau/medieval origins since the 37HF update : when I get the flight effect from ars nouveau and then it fades out I can't use the pixie flight anymore till I reconnect, does someone have a fix ?

Yes, there is a command to remove gravity modifiers, but you need to know the UUID of the modifier - which is in the playerdata file I was talking about earlier.

The tiny one should be disabled by default, but yes.
In \config\lunar-common.toml you can set how often they get triggered. Yes, 0 means never. The rest you can do as you wish (it's calculated by "number out of total of all numbers", so the higher a number compared to the other numbers the more likely it will be triggered, and if all numbers are roughly the same, the chances are roughly the same as well).
The chance to trigger any event in general is at the beginning of the file the line lunarEventChance = 0.12

Possibly, yes. His changelog says Make it so new gravity adjusting attributes are non-permanent (in case the attribute isn't removed somehow)

i think the bug has to do with the slow faling in bushes/tree top blocks , my wife was working and jumping in them at the night with the moon effect after it she had the effect permament

Modified mod files? Or config files?
Technically you could paste the new configs and only overwrite those that match and keep those that don't match, but it's probably easier to just save the edited config files together with your world file somewhere and move them back after the update.

Transferring Your World

Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.

MMC4 will be a bit tricky to find but there's cheese for it
while MMC5 does have an item to help you locate a dragon
there's an item called tome of scrapping and there's 3 tiers to it (first one destroys item and extract half enchants, second one extract all enchant but destroy item, third one keeps all intact)
depends on the operation and what you do on the server 10-12 gigs should work and honestly you should lower the simulation and render distance of the server to help with performance

It's a spellbook, but there's no recipe attached, and I can't seem to find anything online
Don't know if it's quite the answer you're lookin for, but stage 4 and 5 dragons spawn in underground caverns exclusively. The females drop the eggs, usually the ones without stripes on their wings. The dragon caves have a relatively low chance to generate because of all the other stuff that generates in these modpacks. There's items called "Dragon Seeker" that you can craft which show the nearest living dragon within a certain range, but if you'd rather just know where the nearest cave is exactly and you're not beyond bein a lil cheaty, you can type /locate structure iceandfire:[type]_dragon_cave
If you just type /locate structure dragon the autocomplete should show you all the caves and roosts you can locate
The only EMI/JEI stuff on it is arcane anvil upgrade orbs
