Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.

How do you not instantly die to dragons constantly? I'm playing as a valkyrie and I seem to run into a new dragon every few hundred blocks. The dragons are too fast for me evade them, so I end up getting killed if I go anywhere near one. This time I caught the attention of a local fire dragon, I managed to escape it by flying a couple hundred blocks away, barely escaping death, but then I ran into a frost dragon. The frost dragon saw me from about 50 blocks away and darted after me. I used my valkyrie ability to escape it by ended up flying straight into the nest of a different fire-breathing dragon. That one instantly killed me 😭

I don't want to fight them yet (not that I could). I just want to know if running into them like this is normal

It's very normal. I died to dragons all the time at the start of the modpack

I play as high elf so I cannot fly like you but they have lairs you can see on your map as you load in the chunks. Just stay clear of them to the best of your ability and you won't aggro them

At least until you can kill them. Once you have midgame gear / skills they go down really easily

So I decided to go ahead and set up the world me and my friend and my sister have been playing on as a server... but how do I do that? I figured out how to do all the self-hosting stuff, but how do I make the world we've been playing on be the server?

I see there's a folder that says "world" in the server pack
Do I just copy the world folder into there

So like... do I just copy everything from inside the folder for the singleplayer version of the world and replace everything in the "world" folder in the server pack with that

Before doing any of this you should manually back up your world and tell everyone to put their items in chests. In theory you would copy the contents of your single player world and paste them into the “world” folder. This might clear all player data, so anything in your inventories and your XP may get cleared

Journeymap might be stored as a separate file or set of files in the content of your single player world folder. If that it the case, then you should be able to copy those file into an identical location in the server folders. Keep in mind that you may have to make new folders to match everything up. Am I making sense? I feel like I sound very confusing lol

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.

For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.

Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.

This is a bit of a late reply, that runic template ye have is for simply swords - rerolling runic (that is not a runic katana) weps and the specific named weps. Runic etching is a glow effect/trim which uses a dif item

You can use this to see how different armor values look in comparison

You'll want the vanilla formula (which is the one enabled)

And if you open the Calculations folder, the first line is the monster formula Minecraft uses for armor

Yeah basically this, and armor toughness helps keep higher percentage reduction at high damage attacks

What's interesting to note is that by vanilla formula, any armor over 100 does absolutely nothing to increase defense

From 0 to 20 armor, getting more armor increases damage reduction percentage.
After 20 armor, it increases the amount of damage required to start lowering the damage reduction percentage.

Basically, armor after 20 points becomes a stronger form of armor toughness

Except, it increases the minimum percentage for high damage values, so high value armor points do still get one use

And this is why armor after 100 does nothing, at 100 armor the minimum percentage amount will be 80%

So you'll always protect against 80% of all damage
