I find it absolutely impressive that the Better Minecraft Modpack has around 200sh mods and it runs as smooth as butter in terms of Tick speed, (not FPS)

I'm making a personal modpack myself and I'm wondering what else was needed to get the game to run it's tick speed smoothly without any AI stuttering or chunk gen being at a snail's pace?

I have already installed most performance mods that are included in the modpack and I was pleasantly surprised with how smoother my modpack runs in terms of tickspeed, though it's not as perfect as Better Minecraft's tick speed

are there any other configurations that were needed to get the modpack more optimized in terms of tick speed?

playing on a server, the server would be controlling all that stuff and yeah it adapts as needed.

single player doesnt, it just takes what you tell it to do

in a single player world, view distance = chunk loading distance (mostly anyway)

so you run with a range of 8-12, whatever feels smooth for you

however.. if youre just wanting optifine for performance, and not shaders.. theres a whole other way to sort that out

so im in a better minecraft forge 1.16.5 server, and im trying to repair a netherite pickaxe with mending. while holding the pixkaxe in my off hand, a small amount of xp goes to it, while probably around 90% goes to my xp bar, not armor or main hand. anyone nkow why or how i can fix this
