The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.

the link is the ip, you put the ip in direct connect in multiplayer
Luna Pixel's World Sharing
Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The 'Essential' mod is therefore incompatible.
To share your world using our own world hosting, click the 'Open to Lan' or 'Share World' button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.
It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!
We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.
i got the same message, the first time it said connection lost and the second it says failed to connect unkown server
hey anyone able to help me with getting controller support?
are forge and neoforge just one channel?
Hello everyone, I installed BMC5 V45.5 today aswell as the server pack V45.5 but my server shows a message that the versions don´t match and that my client has V45 and I can´t even select V45 as a version in Curseforge
yeah
ok thanks
as long as u can join its fine its just the dev forgetting to change the ver in the manifest file
i think ppl have luck w adding the controllable mod for it but beyond pointing to a mod that adds support in game cant do much
thanks but it only registers my right trigger
is it a wired controller?
yes
unplug and plug it back in?
tried a different cord?
Better MC 4 - v54 crashed without a crash report. The logs have been uploaded to mclo.gs:
- 1.20.1 [FORGE]
- CurseForge
- I only added Inventory Profiles Next to help with organizing my items as what's in the modpack for some reason doesn't organize the backpack items.
- v54
- It gets past the checks, but when it goes to start the game, that's when it crashes, and happens every time, even after hitting the repair profile option on CurseForge.
- I just launched the game like normal.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.
This video explains the process: https://youtu.be/xMYW1wMbmkM
To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
tried different usb ports?
hold up
did it work?
now it doesnt show up at all
whats funny is i just tried the modrinth variation and it's loading fine, and its the same version as the one i'm having trouble with. so why am i getting all the trouble with the cursedforge version when last week it was working fine.
check crash assist since its in the pack
try using a controller on an app that you know can detect it
it works there
modrinth is like extremely outdated
No dice
what is the mod that adds the beating heart sound effect at low hp and is there a way to disable it?
probably subtle effects
well, dumb me never tried hitting the repair minecraft button... I only hit the repair modpack...
yup that was the one ty
that mod has a really nice config
then idk
i cant connect to my friends server it keeps kicking me and now it just says server not found check adress
try removing the wakes mod
what modpack and modpack version are you on
send a full screenshot
you arent putting in the right ip
ignore it

Free Method
To host a server on your own computer, read the selfhosting guide.
This guide goes over how to install, create, and launch a free Minecraft server on all operating systems (MacOS, Linux and Windows). The guide also guides you through installing Java and optimizing your server for better performance.
If you are installing one of our older modpacks, ignore the "README" file that is included in the serverpack files, as they have outdated information.
Paid Method
We suggest renting a server from Bisect Hosting:
Approx. $10 - $25 a month depending on what plan you choose. You can also get 25% off with Code LunaPixel.
Go here and order a plan which fits you. We suggest 1GB per player but nothing lower than 4GB as the server needs at least 3GB to run.
Go to #server-hosting for more Info!
The following advice works for both the Free and Paid methods:
Transferring Your World
If you're playing Singleplayer and want to transfer your world to your server, simply go to your modpack files and navigate to the saves folder. Inside of this folder, you will see your world saves. Rename your desired world save to world. You can then transfer this folder to your server files. If your world was hosted via world sharing, this process has to be done by the person who would click "Share World".
Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.
?
hi, ive done all the steps to host a server from my LAN or wtv, the video said i need to give my friends my ip. ive got it but for them to join do they just go add server and paste my ip in?
For world sharing they'll use the direct connect button from multiplayer screen, put the ip in the box, ignore the port numbers, and join
i gave my friend my ipv4 and ipv6 and none of em work
im in my server rn so it is working but he isnt able to join
that's not lan, that's self hosting. you'll have to check that the ports art open
!port
If you're having issues with your friends joining your server, your port for Minecraft may be closed.
-
Check with https://portchecker.co/ with your IP and Minecraft's port (drop down menu) to see if it's open.
-
If it's closed you will need to search online "How to open Minecraft port for server with (ISP Name)
Important note: a lot will allow port forwarding, but there may be some ISPs that will not allow any port forwarding. Please check online if this is the case for yours.

Better MC [NEOFORGE] BMC5

- I removed Twilight Forest and Continuity. Added Vic's Point Blank, Let's Do mods, Delight Mods and a few other QoL mods.
- v44.5
- I was playing on my server fine last night but now it'll crash right after loading terrain. Nothing has changed between now and last night.
- Start minecraft, load into our modded multiplayer world, game loads then crashes immediately after loading terrain.

Discovered this is due to a create contraption elevator I made last night. A light from a different mod was used inside the contraption and is now causing a crash whenever that chunk is loaded, hence me crashing once terrain is loaded. Friends who were located in other parts of the world went to try and delete the contraption but also crashed once the chunk was loaded for them. Anyone know if deleting create or the mod with the light would allow us to get in and fix it?

i see
so try using atlauncher, push only 4 gigs ram to the game with that, which should be the default, then push serverpack ram to 4 gigs as well
ok ill give it a go thanks
hello guys what is the difference between BMC 4 and BMC 5? and which should I go for if Im going to play with people who arent too familiar with modded minecraft
different modloaders and MC versionss. 4 is on Forge, 1.20.1 of mc. 5 is on Neoforge (the replacement for forge on all future packs) on 1.21.1
!compare mod wise, you can use this to see what ones are in 1 pack over the other or both

how do i make the server hardcore i changed the server properties but it didnt work
the issue is better i mean the problem takes a lot longer to start again. would getting 32gb of help solve it? cuz im in the market for getting some anyways
It would all together as 16 gigs is low for most things nowadays in general, just a heads up ram is psychotically expensive with the ai data center craze. I imagine some people are buying pre-builts just so they could get ram cheaper than outright
i see i saw some 2x16gb ram sticks for like 232$ u think thats a overpay for ddr4?
yes
All ram is overpriced now cause of this chaos, it's exactly like when gpus were skyrocket high for the crypto mining.

You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!
1. Identify your graphics card
if you already know skip to the next step
- Open task manager
- Navigate to the "Performance" tab (on Windows 11 this is the button that looks like a heart pulse)
- Press the GPU 0 graph and read your GPU from the top right
Note:
In some cases you may see a GPU 0 and GPU 1. This means your CPU has its own GPU, as well as a dedicated one. You probably want GPU 1 (which is usually the better one), but you can ask staff to clarify if necessary.
2. Download your drivers from the manufacturers site
Depending on what you read before, you likely need drivers from either AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA
AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support
Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html
NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Note:
- For NVIDIA you want to select "Game Ready Driver (GRD)" (this is the default option) for the best performance. Once installing you'd probably prefer downloading GeForce Experience, which will notify you when there's an available drivers update.
- For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically
- For AMD you probably want to just press "Download Windows Drivers", which will download something called AMD Adrenaline, which will update your drivers automatically.
3. Run the installation, restart your computer, and try playing MC again
- At this point, hopefully your Minecraft is running. If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.
If my notebook does not meet the requirements, please let me know. I am updating the drivers rn

I have a server hosting the BMC5 mod pack for me and 1 friend. it has 10gb of ram allocated to it. i keep running into an issue where i run out of ram and the server crashes. i watch the ram usage as i play and it just goes up over time till the crash eventually happens. im trying to find ways to better optimize the modpack to not use so much ram. since there arer so many mods in the pack i was hoping to see if anyone here can lead me in a direction that will help.
The ram usage never goes down. only up till the eventual crash

It suggests downloading older drivers- how old of a driver is suggested?
You can try using the Studio driver, instead of Game Ready, see if that works
sorry if this is asked a lot, but are there any guides to completing the content in the modpack?
I don't want to miss any content

!updatemods
Do NOT Update Mods Manually!
Modpacks use specific versions of certain mods to prevent various issues, such as crashes or major game-breaking bugs. Mods will be updated by the modpack developer when they see fit. Please do not update the mods in a modpack manually, unless specifically told to do so. This includes hitting the "update all" feature on CurseForge launcher it likes to bother users with.
To be clear; this is separate from updating the modpack (such as Better MC / Medieval MC) itself. You should always stay up to date with the latest version of the modpack. To update the pack correctly, you can follow the command!updatemodpack
The easiest way to downgrade mod versions to their original versions in the pack, is to reinstall the pack itself. Before you uninstall, back up both any singleplayer world files you have, and your map folder. LPS packs usually use JourneyMap or Xareos, the map folder will be named accordingly.
- Curseforge -> Right click the modpack instance -> „Open Folder”.
- ATLauncher -> Click „Open Folder” on the modpack instance.
- PrismLauncher -> Select your instance and click „Folder” on the right.
Navigate to the "minecraft" folder, and within that will be "saves" and "journeymap"/"xareos" depending on which the pack has. Copy/Move these folders to a safe location, and you can move them right back to the fresh copy of the pack when reinstalled.

You could try to either lower the -XX:MaxRAMPercentage=95.0 to something smaller (let's say 90.0) or add a -Xmx9G to the server parameters
ill try and figure that out, but i will say that my ram usage only increses till the point it reaches 10gb. then it crashes. the ram usage never goes down. i watch it in the server dashboard
Server Dashboards are useless
hmmm, do you know what file/folder i would need to find to make the change you sugested?

There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.
does anyone know how to update better mc from v51 to v54??
!updatemodpack
To properly update the modpack you're playing, it depends on the launcher you are using. This video can explains it on CurseForge launcher, and the same method can be used on other launchers as well, but it's not necessary to use this method on others.
-
CurseForge - See above video
-
PrismLauncher -> Select your instance, and click "Edit" on the right. the 3rd tab down will say "CurseForge", click on it, and there will be a dropdown menu, if not already selected, the latest version of the pack will be at the top of it. click "Update Pack". Sometimes there will be new mods to manually download due to liscensing issues, click "Open Missing" and it will automatically download and checked, and copied to the instance folder. It's safe to delete these mods in your downloads folder once done. Once all are detected, the "Open Missing" will be grayed out. You can click 'Continue" at this point, and it will finish the update process and tell you when its successful.
-
ATLauncher - Under the "Instances" tab, find the pack you would like to update. there will be an "Update" button. There will be a dropdown menu, and if not already selected, the latest version of the pack will be at the top of it to select. Click "Update" once selected. Sometimes there will be new mods to manually download due to licensing issues, click "Open Missing" and it will automatically download and checked, and copied to the instance folder. It's safe to delete these mods in your downloads folder once done. Once all are detected, You can click "OK ", and it will finish the update process.

does removing luna to use essential do anything to the modpack
i quite just said it doesnt
it wouldnt remove the essential block
Do you know what will
if you add essential the crash assistant pop up will explain how
and the risks of it + the fact you dont get support when using it

It works fine in my single player game, no issue.
Only an issue when doing multiplayer.
Has the JEI inventory search function been disabled in this modpack
normally its a double click that turns the search bar yellow and then highlights the searched item in an open inventory screens
Hello guys, I would like to clear up a doubt. I am playing the Better MC (NeoForge) BMC5 modpack (1.21.1 45.5). I tried to install CREATE 6.0.9 + Create Craft & Additions 1.5.9 + Storage Drawers 13.11.4. The game opens normally, but when I enter the world and place anything from CREATE, the game crashes. Did I do something wrong? Is there a way to fix this problem? I only added the MODS through Curse Forge, no other procedures.

You are using a modified version of the modpack!
Adding, removing, or updating large amounts of mods without testing any of your changes is **not **a good idea, and it is very unlikely that anyone will want to debug your issue for you. Please test the changes you make in small groups, as opposed to doing all of the changes at once.
If you want further support for your issue, someone may respond to you in the channel for the modpack you based your changes off, but please only post once. You may also have better luck in #1061339968691257466.
you have it set to manual cave mode
Anyone know if better mc adds any way to more easily move villagers or goblins around? They can’t be picked up like other mobs via shift + right click
why does it say unkown server check address and try again when me and my friend are trying to play
i've just started playing bmc4 v54 and i cant find the hotkey settings to open my dragon inventory, also i cant use the name tag on him (pressing shift + left click just orders him to sit) 🫠
bmc4s dragon mod doesnt have dragon invs afaik
oooh so i need to install other mods related to it lol, didnt know ty
i dont think theres any add ons for dragon mount legacy but u can add a dif dragon mod
For goblins you can use cages. not sure about villagers
Oh interesting! I’ll try that out, thanks
craft an emerald block and hold it the villagers will follow you, like how chickens will follow you when you hold wheat seeds
Also good to know!
My friends and i are having trouble staying logged into bmc5. The game keeps crashing, kicking us out, or has supper bad lag. Any recc?

Currently LPS packs are not being updated on the Modrinth site, and as such are outdated. This is while the devs figure out a way to automate uploads of the pack properly.
Until the packs can be properly updated, we recommend using ATL (use !alternates in #bots for further info on the installation process ) or Prism launcher. You can download the CurseForge version of our packs on these launchers while still being able to make instances from Modrinth versions of other packs not owned by us.
Please note this does not apply to individual mod projects of developers at LPS.
yeah?
the monuments are unchanged from normal
Where can I download the full modpack? For Forge 1.20.1
the same place as any other modpack

Hello, are the developers of the BMC4 modpack aware of these crashes when the servers are starting (yes i tried without any additional mods installed to with same issue just have this log on my phone)
And this isnt a every once in a while issue, its affecting my servers uptime alot.... The MMC4 does it sometimes but rarely
these are not mod errors
something is wrong on your server's side
nobody else has ever reported this
So the support will have to look into it??
they will probably redirect you to us
this log is basically unreadable because for some reason your host is inserting like 40 lines of text before every line of the log lol
so its hard to tell really
what host is it
Imma DM you cause personally i dont give it out without my affiliate link 💀 ill just send you name though

this is a client log, you are not starting a server
!drivers
I'm very new to all of this.
But I never had the issue before, is this possible?
I am playing for 2/3 weeks now on this server with my brother and had no problem at all.
This is the first time showing up.
ohh okay, any way to undo the update?
updating again might fix it, if not #better-mc-forge message
okay, thankyou

Hey everyone, can someone please help me? I'm having a problem with my server. It has mod version 45.5, and even though I've installed it in the CurseForge launcher and explicitly checked the versions, I'm still starting the mod pack. However, it always seems to be playing on version 45. I can't connect to my modded server this way. Does anyone have any tips on how to get the server to version 45 or how to start version 45.5?

World Sharing servers are likely currently at capacity
If you or your friend are receiving an error such as "An error occurred in Luna", or "Connection refused: no further information" when trying to play through "Open to LAN" or "Share World", it's likely that Luna's servers (used for world sharing) are currently full. Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.
The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.
For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide. This guide's section regarding GraalVM is completely wrong from our own testing, and we recommend ignoring it.
Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.
If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50
Then, send the link in this channel.
The first guide is for client side lag (e.g. low FPS), and the second one is for server-side
yes
@heavy wedge Can you explain more how fps drops happens?
Are you playing with shaders? What render distance? How much ram allocated?
Can you click F3 and share entire screen screenshot?
Like litezraly every 7 second my game freeze , it makes that whithout shaders, render distance is 10 chunk , how i see ram ?
if i update my curseforce for the BetterMC modpack update will it ruin my singleplayer world at all
im launching the game
when using curseforge how can i allocate more RAM to the game??
i did it with vanilla mc awhile back but cant remember how i found it
your a real one
i think there is a tutorial
if i do the update will it hurt my singleplayer world or will it be fine
i dont want this 200 hour map to delete or glitch xD
It should be safe, but always make a backup of your "saves" folder

The missions aren't loading for me. Do I need to activate them somewhere or load a resource pack? Does anyone have any advice?
ok i got a copy of the map. where do i go to update the modpack on curseforge
Does anyone know how to hatch a ghost dragon egg?
Once all are detected, You can click "OK ", and it will finish the update process.

here we go!
thats my bad xD
But yes, @coral summit your issue - too little ram allocated
Sooooooo, little lesson
Curse(d)forge is bad launcher
- it often fails to install packs properly
- due to fact that it launches vanilla mc launcher and not right into mc - java args can fuck up
I would suggest , tbf, moving away from curse
whats a better launcher to use
if i play with tbf can i still play with my friends ?
https://blog.curseforge.com/how-to-allocate-more-ram-to-minecraft/ or you can read here
i thought curse woulda been a good one bc of how easy it is
what's tbf
curse is worst launcher from good ones
should i be using a better laungher or is curse fine if u have a really fast pc
ahahah my bad im french and my english is bad asf
what this server recomends - and what I use - is ATLauncher
oh i never heard of that launcher im gonna switch to that one then
if its the best one
just the recomended one?
yes, but you can also try Prism
ok thx ❤️
it's another launcher widely recommended
For ATL, we have this guide tho
!alternates
You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
ur a real one for helping people for no reason bro. nobody does that anymore
I know, lotta text, but explains how to do everything
A lot of ppl here does that
the helpers +
Dev of this pack is also quite often in this chat
yeah i didnt know abt the modpack discords im so glad i found it
I used to be member of staff, old habbits
i got u lol.
yeah , a lot of packs has some sort of support discords 🔥
@coral summit but yeah - you have allocated 500mb of ram - you want to allocate 8-10/12 gb
that is, if you have above 8 gb in first place
8-12 is kinda recomended, above that it may cause issues with memory leaks
how many is that in mb
1 gb = 1024 mb
nah, that is due to .... cpu iirc?
i use a rysen 7800 i would think its a okay cpu for gaming?
or do i needa upgrade that axD

I have no clue I am not a nerd
i wish i was a nerd
ok i just download atl
read this
what is the best version for bmc4
ok
curseforge, latest
yes
it is telling you what to do too
you can click "Open" on each mod - or you can click "Open all in browser"
then just check if each of them is getting downloaded
well, no
well - you can but
hit on settings first
then Java/Minecraft
Change max memory there @coral summit
Ignore all other stuffs you see in my screenshots
ok ty
can someone help me, im using the latest version of better mc (bmc4), I get like 900 fps without shaders, however the second i even put on low shaders i go down to like 20
(running on curseforge btw)
specs:
ryzen 7 7800x3d
4070 ti super
32gb ram
i dont think my pc should be struggling that hard, and ive asigned around 8gb of ram to the game
im also having this issue with the textures cant find out why
!fps fallow this
huh?
I think you neeed to disable fancy graphics for this
its on fast
a performance guide CUZ from your post I assume you want help with fps
wait i went to fancy and it fixed it
but its only when shaders
cool - fps guide still should help, don't you think?
one of the issues is that you using cursedforge
how much ram allocated you have?
8gb allocated
and, have you modified the pack?
well, only suggestion I have is moving away from cursedforge
getting better java+args for it
wait just the default minecraft launcher?
okay.
it explains that you could use ATL and about java and about args
also with modded you don't want to b edoing that
the wiki also mentions atl should i switch ?
guys when i share the world it keeps telling me error and it doesnt work for the other person what do i do
I told that kinda, with my msg "well, only suggestion I have is moving away from cursedforge"

World Sharing servers are likely currently at capacity
If you or your friend are receiving an error such as "An error occurred in Luna", or "Connection refused: no further information" when trying to play through "Open to LAN" or "Share World", it's likely that Luna's servers (used for world sharing) are currently full. We don't have a way to notify you when slots on our servers free up, but you are welcome to try again later.
We understand and recognize that this may be inconvenient, so we recommend in this case to host or rent your own server. Self-hosting is free, for more information on hosting options, type !server in #bots.
Please note as well that this is a static command, it does not change/know when servers are full or not

!modified
You are using a modified version of the modpack!
Adding, removing, or updating large amounts of mods without testing any of your changes is **not **a good idea, and it is very unlikely that anyone will want to debug your issue for you. Please test the changes you make in small groups, as opposed to doing all of the changes at once.
If you want further support for your issue, someone may respond to you in the channel for the modpack you based your changes off, but please only post once. You may also have better luck in #1061339968691257466.
do i need the Warden armor to upgrade it to Ignitum? Or can i use netherrite armor to upgrade it to ignitum
what does JEI tell you
When looking at the Ignitum equipment, It shows that you need Warden armor+Smithing template. But on the smithing Template it says that it applies to Netherrite Equipment
I'm trying to find and solve this problem, could someone help me? I've tried many things, but nothing works. I'm hosting the server with bisecthosting, and it's for BMC5 Neo Forge Better MC.
have you tried contacting bissect support?
I would assume first one recipe then - you can always check in creative world
ah alright, thanks
I confess that I didn't, because I thought the problem was with me.
And it does this to me on quite a few mods, which prevents me from fully enjoying them.
let me use the nice power I have

!wsfull

It seems as you are trying to use the standard Minecraft launcher!
To run our packs properly, you will need to have a modded launcher, as it will install the pack for you, making it so you don't have a ton of mods/configs removed & end up crashing due to such.
Our most recommended launcher is ATLauncher, which you can find step by step instructions on by running the command !alternates in #bots . If you prefer a more modern interface, Prism comes recommended as well. Any other launchers we can't guarantee any issues won't arise, so it's best to save the trouble and use ATL/Prism.

if you already know skip to the next step
If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.
how do I renable mods after disabling them? I think my world corrupted, and after disabling the mods i added, I cant load my world now.
Did share world and my friends all joined then randomly got kicked out and now it isn't working
Like can this be fixed or something?
i feel so stupid for asking this but how does one backup their world before updating the modpack? i'm awful with tech stuff but i love this world and don't know if there's special steps required (using curseforge specifically)
i don't know if there's mods that can change how that works so i wanted to really really make sure i wasn't gonna screw anything up lol
go to the saves folder, copy your world that you wanna back up, then past it to ur desktop. thats normally how i do it
thank you so much! usually my friend makes custom modpacks for our friend group (or modifies existing ones) but this world is just for me so i'm trying to use it as a chance to try out tech stuff myself but i did not want to risk losing this world with all the time i've put into it lol
just lost my one and only minecraft world due to corruption so make sure to install a mod that automatically makes backups of your worlds :L
you should be able to enable/disable via the client? i know at least on curseforge you can do that, go to the 3 dot menu -> "allow content management for this profile"
going to content lets you enable/disable mods, they'll have a little slider that says "active"
oh no :[ yeah my first world got messed up because i tried changing something with a mod which is why i'm so cautious with this one lol
the issue with my world is that I added other mods like create and world generation mods. I dont remember all the mods I added
ahhh, hm
been trying for the past hour to figure this out
literally like ive been looking online to see if i can pay someone to do this for me. dont even care how much it cost
i just want my world 🙁
you could go to the original modpack and compare the modlists? like the base pack without any editing and then your modpack, see which mods don't line up?
also, did you do the uhh
I shot myself in the foot bro, deleted the version of the modpack i made. Honestly like I just needed the create mod installed, but even with it in I still cant load up my world 🙁
this will point out changes in the modpack
ahhh, uhm hm
check your recycling bin to see if the files are in there maybe?
unless you cleared that, it might be there
thats a good idea, ill see what I can find there
if this leads me to making it world ill give you 20 bucks
I keep getting the errors in currently selected data packs prevented the world freom loading
trying in safe mode gets me this world contains invalid or corrupted save data

Hello, I'm attempting to self host a BetterMC4 Server, but everytime I start it, it gets towards the end of getting started and crashes, I have a crash report.

yall know how to fix this??
im trying to play with my gf but it doesnt let her join and I dont rlly know of another way to host a server without the LAN option
!glfw
For users who are experiencing issues with the built-in GLFW, there's a quick and easy solution for you to use the latest, bug-free GLFW that can remedy the solution.
- Download a pre-built GLFW library from my repository at https://github.com/Frontear/glfw-libs/releases. Ensure you download the correct file from the desription of the release. You may also compile it yourself, details can be found here: https://www.glfw.org/docs/latest/compile.html
- Save the file in a location you can remember and will NOT delete (the file MUST stay there or else it will stop working)
- In your launcher, go to the java parameters (this is the place you put your GC arguments), and add
-Dorg.lwjgl.glfw.libname=/path/to/the/file. If, for example, you downloaded the file in your Downloads (C:\Users\Me\Downloads\glfw3.dll, then your argument would be-Dorg.lwjgl.glfw.libname=C:\Users\Me\Downloads\glfw3.dll)
!alternates you are 11 versions out of date, heavily modified the modpack, and did not allocate enough memory. please reinstall on a proper launcher

!updatemodpack
To properly update the modpack you're playing, it depends on the launcher you are using. This video can explains it on CurseForge launcher, and the same method can be used on other launchers as well, but it's not necessary to use this method on others.

CurseForge - See above video

Good afternoon, I have a question how much RAM should I allocate to use the Better modpack?
https://i.imgur.com/ANgOnzO.jpeg
somone could help me fix this render problem? my friend doesnt got this issue with a even worse pc on the same server
followed the performance tut etc
bello i have a profile of bmc4 that i added a bunch of create mod addons and it was working. for some reason create design n decore prevents it from loading n was wondering if anyone might know why or tried something similar
nvm i see it is a known issue with create v6
1.20.1 specifically. i just wanted diagonal girders:(
me and my girlfriend play on lan but the connection is terrible would it be better if we just played together through a paid server and how much would I need for just two people (price and gb wise)
you dont really need a paid server as self hosting is free - but if you dont have the hardware for it, depending on how much exploring youd be doing 4-6gb would be fine, price depend on the ram but you can get an estimate when picking a plan, and it doesnt need to be bisect hosting you go with.

Hello! I need help setting up a server with BMC4 v54. After setting up the server + modpack on Kinetic Hosting, and trying to connect I get the error: "Failed to connect to server -- EveryCompat has detected that server has mismatched mod versions for mod shutter: requested version 2.2.0-1.20.1, actual version null"
I've tried uploading the modpack .zip filefrom CurseForge, and installing using the server host's installer (Kinetic Hosting) several times now.
Any tips on steps to fix?
i am having the same issue, or the link works for a few issues then there is a lag spike and it disconnects
just got soft locked on a public server and i was wondering where or if i could get help?
i was wondering if there was a command or something
im trapped in a players claim
everyone else is inactive and wont be coming back anytime soon
itd highly depend if the server has any like commands enabled for that like /warp /home /back
(neoforge 1.21.1 BMC5)
Is there a way to (semi-)automate wood farming? Like a villager or golem or something else that collects wood for you and also replants trees or something?
just use the vanilla minecraft commands? Is that what u mean? @topaz escarp
/tp username (person you want to tp) username (person you want to tp person to)
you would need to install ftb essentials for tp without operator permissions
i didnt tell you to swap the modpack ftb essentials is an individual mod
for one you need to reinstall the bmc you were playing on your server lmao
for two for the ftb essentials mod follow this https://help.bisecthosting.com/hc/en-us/articles/40396622697755-How-to-Add-Custom-Mods-to-a-Minecraft-Server
also if its your own server u can just give urself op thru the console

Hi, I'm having a persistent crash with Better MC 5 [NEOFORGE] v44.5. The game crashes instantly when loading or shortly after, with an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION pointing to the Intel Graphics driver (igxelpicd64.dll).
What I have already tried (without success):
- Clean Install of Graphics Drivers: I used DDU and installed the latest Intel driver (Build 32.0.101.7082) as suggested by troubleshooting.
- Removed Shaders: I completely removed
iris-neoforgeandeuphoria patcherto rule out shader conflicts. - Config Edits: Tried disabling Twilight Forest visual effects (set
auroraBiomes = []and disabled shield indicators intwilightforest-client.toml), but the crash persists with the same error frame.
My Specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12450H
- GPU: Intel UHD Graphics (Driver v32.0.101.7082)
- RAM: 8GB Total (Allocated 4GB to Minecraft)
- OS: Windows 11

i tried looking it up and couldn't find it - where do you find spineless yucca saplings/fruit? one of my farmer villagers wants it as a trade but i don't know the biome it spawns in
Thank u, will u keep u updated
Bro i am saying when i used luna it didn’t work it crashed every time. So I wanted to use essential. But I wanted to ask for help in discord before using essential. Do u understand
there is not anything we can physically do about luna errors the most recommended thing is self-hosting as an alternate free method
Yea understandable. But I am using essential now so np 😉

me and my friends are tying to play on my server but they are so laggy
How does one fix the 'error occurred in luna' while trying to world share
wait guys is there a way to play multiplayer without buying a server
I still cant get crafty to see that graalvm java is installed..
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.
that is unbound by default, if someone has it its bc their install is broken
!alternates you didnt install correctly
You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
im trying to do that but its very confusing, theres no readme file or start.bat files
that is not the serverpack
go to the client file's page on CF and scroll down to additional files
the serverpack is there
hello, I just downloaded bmc5 from modrinth and I still needed to install a bunch of mods manually bc modrinth doesnt have it, does curseforge have this issue?
!modrinth
Currently LPS packs are not being updated on the Modrinth site, and as such are outdated. This is while the devs figure out a way to automate uploads of the pack properly.
Until the packs can be properly updated, we recommend using ATL (use !alternates in #bots for further info on the installation process ) or Prism launcher. You can download the CurseForge version of our packs on these launchers while still being able to make instances from Modrinth versions of other packs not owned by us.
Please note this does not apply to individual mod projects of developers at LPS.
so if my friend is playing the pack from modrinth and Im using curseforge, will we be able to play together or would the worlds be incompatible
