you're the only one who has ever reported it so it's low priority
it is definitely an issue it just isn't something anyone else has noticed so it's lower priority than updating the other packs that need more important fixes
yeah
i think i saw someone else report it a couple days ago in here but i could be hallucinating
i installed the same modpack to the server
it was him
!server
Free Method
To host a server on your own computer, read the selfhosting guide.
This guide goes over how to install, create, and launch a free Minecraft server on all operating systems (MacOS, Linux and Windows). The guide also guides you through installing Java and optimizing your server for better performance.
If you are installing one of our older modpacks, ignore the "README" file that is included in the serverpack files, as they have outdated information.
Paid Method
We suggest renting a server from Bisect Hosting:
Approx. $10 - $25 a month depending on what plan you choose. You can also get 25% off with Code LunaPixel.
Go here and order a plan which fits you. We suggest 1GB per player but nothing lower than 4GB as the server needs at least 3GB to run.
Go to #server-hosting for more Info!
The following advice works for both the Free and Paid methods:
Transferring Your World
If you're playing Singleplayer and want to transfer your world to your server, simply go to your modpack files and navigate to the saves folder. Inside of this folder, you will see your world saves. Rename your desired world save to world. You can then transfer this folder to your server files. If your world was hosted via world sharing, this process has to be done by the person who would click "Share World".
Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.
!alternates
If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.
This video explains the process: https://youtu.be/xMYW1wMbmkM
To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
It's also happens on neo forge bmc
follow both guides fully
interesting
nooo ik he's talked abt it multiple times i swear some girl came in but i could be hallucinating
idt it makes it more important or anything just thought id mention
yeah, copper rusts, you really wouldn't like a copper tool and armor mechanic
maybe
I was probably me, my OCD can't handle the bug but I'll be patient
Im not wasting my iron on armor and tools when rails, anvils, blast furnaces, and minecarts exist. Theres zero reason for copper to be the one mineral that is purely for decoration, aka useless.
Gold gets to be used in rails, gapples, and still armor.
A game called "Minecraft" should have way more interesting mining, not useless ores
wait till i tell you what iron does
wait until you find out about how they smithed iron in the medieval ages
there's no way to balance copper to make it balanced or useful
Add it yourself then ffs instead of spamming chat with it every given opportunity holy
Or go scream at Mojang to add it since you're so ignorantly convinced this is Chloe's fault for not adding it in betterMC
a waste of coal for like 2 armor bars
wait until you find out what we used during the copper age
new speedrun category unlocked
Waiting for you to close ya mouth
I already did, but i cant enchant the armor pieces it cause of some enchanting mod u guys added
waiting for you to open ya mouth
as the developer of the modpack, copper armor doesn't fit my vision of the modpack
period
that's it
it should literally already be in the base game, suprised every modpack MINING doesnt have it
Careful.
too bad ig
there's no enchanting mods in the modpack lol
the pack uses vanilla enchanting
Sure, copper tools and armor might be interesting, but in her opinion, it just... feels like you're getting Gold again (minus enchantability)
Why don't you shove a copper d**** up your...
that's on you for adding a copper mod to the pack manually and choosing one that's poorly coded
Language.
that's the copper mod you added at fault
I typed the asterisks just saying🤐
keep it closed
I'll be quiet now
my phone screen just broke and I can't untimeout you so you're out of luck I'm sorry
accidents happen
all I can do is type I have my keyboard plugged in rn
on god
lmao
this is why chloe gets my vote for president
Hey what's the mod that got removed that added vertical render distance slider? BetterFps rend dis?
Is it coming back?

did you follow both guides fully
Please read the full contents of the #get-support channel for us to provide assistance.
read the quest book
it confused ppl too much for basically 0 fps improvement
how do i craft the stuff that shows up in the "workbench"
so everytime i try and get into my world my game crashes, i put my pickaxe into my offhand and now it wont get past reading world data
tried restarting my pc too
atl gave me an error saying some mods weren't available and that i'd have to manually download then it stopped and said it couldnt be downloaded. im past that im just curious as to why he is able to play with no issues but its my server and we all have the same exact thing
yes manually downloading some mods thru third party launchers is normal

Do NOT Update Mods Manually!
Modpacks use specific versions of certain mods to prevent various issues, such as crashes or major game-breaking bugs. Mods will be updated by the modpack developer when they see fit. Please do not update the mods in a modpack manually, unless specifically told to do so.
To be clear; this is separate from updating the modpack (such as Better MC / Medieval MC / Prominence) itself. You should always stay up to date with the latest version of the modpack.
the guide I sent you explains that already
update to v40 and do not update mods manually.

Updating them can not only cause major incompatibilities and issues but also break manually set configs
yeah i think thats what happened to me
well learning lesson, if i can backup my world im making a copy rn

Guys what is the guide for weapons and armour for a noob in better minecraft?
if you can figure this out ill be forever grateful, I am a idiot and this world means a great deal to me
like hella
I am new to this mod and I am using iron and diamonds I hope to get better armour and gear
Well that's a new one
any ideas?
they left
god is good
Honestly no, idk what could be causing that, it seems like it's triggered from Xaero and openpac but idk what or why
right how do i obtain said workbench to craft them?
If anyone can figure it out im willing to pay, im serious this world is really important
irl money
Click on them in the menu. Or search them in EMI. Same way you check recipes for anything else
EMI/JEI/whatever this pack uses
Idk if you're able to find openpac data somewhere in your pack, something related to the party data or claims data but you can try deleting that and redoing any claims you did or whatever
i must be missing something because when i click that checkered lantern theres no recipe at all
The workbench. In the menu. It shows the workbenches. Click on them
I just cant believe it, everything was totally fine and then there goes my 1,000+ day world
this goes over my head
It even tells you which one you need
would deleting forge and redownloading do anything?
I'd recommend reinstalling the pack on ATLauncher if anything
what i dont get is how a fresh world on a fresh download of bmc4 also crashes
that means it has to be something to due with bmc4 right?

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.
The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.
For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.
Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.
If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50
Then, send the link in this channel.

The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.

So what exactly is Valkryien Skies incompatible with? If is just because in general it is pretty unstable thats fine. If its a few mods id rather remove them if they aren't some major ones. Id do so at my own risk and blame no one but me if it goes to crap. Yet, if its like half the mod list ill accept defeat. Looking at 1.20.1
game was fine went to go play now i cant keeps crashing have tried a couple different things nothing has worked yet kind sad cause i just stared keep getting exit code 1 when trying
i try a diffrent launcher
Allocate more ram
i tried that but thank you!
any other idea what could cause the crashing
i was on curseforge

You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
thank you i just got at launcher!
it's extremely buggy in general and is incompatible with a lot of stuff, frankly i don't even know specific things to pinpoint for incompatibilities i just know people struggle to get it working in existing modded environments in general
anywhy to change my skin doesnt want to change for some reason
MC website
it stays the same it showes the new skin in the launcher but when i go into a world its the default skin
did you modify the pack in any way
no just did installed the mod pack it was the same on curseforge and not at launcher idk why they made it so dumb to change skins haha
you in single player or a server
single player
did you start the game in offline mode per chance?
how can i check to see if i did?
Try this: Go into atlauncher, click tools, then launch the "skin updater"
Then go into game to see if that fixes it
I know it's such a mess but it's all we got. Really wish it was more stable or the aeronautics team gets an amazing run in development. I'm going try anyway and likely be mad at myself for it. Thanks for your reply.
Oh one more thing, is the "incompatible mod" error that keeps auto blocking the game launch something the BMC team put in place or is that just another reason I need to make the swap away from curseforge to ATL I just saw posted?
if it's for valkyrien skies i don't think so
tried to launch it online and did the skin update thanks for trying to help idk what else it could be
is there any easier way to install the mods for bmc5 on a linux server?
I'm playing BMC4 on Exaroton with my friends, but the server keeps crashing.
The reason is that too many mobs are spawning in a single chunk, and it's because of a mob spawner.
But I didn't place the spawner, and I don't know where it is.
This isn't the first time — it's happened before, and we had to restart the world.
Is there a solution to this?
my point still stands i fear
aternos and exaroton are not supported here, their service is garbage, their customer service is garbage, and running servers with them causes dumb random issues all the time
how am i supposed to even install neoforge 21.1.153 , if neoforge site is just 21.1.168 and a bunch of beta builds?
need it for server side

Hi can someone help me with a mod?
I want to block the spawn of vanilla mobs except for endermen, enderdragon, and villager
If I update the pack will it alter mods added/updated?
I’m no expert but you may be able to alter that in a Config file. Or there may be a mod with a config file for those
Yeah there’s a mod but there’s no tutorial and I’m very bad with these things
Hello, can I play online in better mc mod pack ?
why is there no waystone in bmc4?
how do you kill ferrous wroughnaut cuz he seems not taking any damage
Wait for him to get his axe stuck into the ground, then stab him in the back.
His armor is too tough to break on your own, so you'll need to go for the cracks in his armor to do damage, basically
Yeah, Ferrous Wroughtnaut carries a massive axe.
im going to farm some xp to repair the shield then ill go kill
@scarlet panther i got it thanks for guide, tho jts kinda cheating about asking how to kill it
Hi! Is ore spawn the same as vannila mc? Thanks!
No, it's not really cheating to ask how to do something
Sometimes you're confused when all your attacks just "tink"
You should've seen the cracks and the swords in the back of the Wroughtnaut's armor, anyways, as a hint

To better assist with fixing your issue, we will need some logs:
-
Curseforge -> Right click the modpack instance -> Open Folder.
-
ATLauncher -> Click 'Open Folder' on the modpack instance.
-
MultiMC -> Select your instace and click 'Instance Folder' on the right.
-
** For servers** -> Open the folder containing your server files.
To find the latest.log file, navigate to the 'logs' folder.
To find the hs_err_pid.log file, simply look for the file name after opening the instance folder.
To find a crash report, navigate to the 'crash-reports folder and find the most recent file after your crash occurred.
Once located, please upload the requested file here. If it fails, upload to https://mclo.gs/ and share the link here.

Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.

so upgrading my world from v39 to v40 its not going to cause any problems

Understandable. May I ask how to to get around that? Fully knowing all that happens after is on me.
So, you're asking to remove the safeties of something, fully knowing the risk of harm that is associated with it.
Do you have the same modpack version? did your friend update any mod?
Yeah I have the v.40 on my server and on my pc
I just downloaded them a few minutes ago
Yup. Made a duplicate ready for it to burn. But it might be fun for a few.
I did try to remove that particular config but it didnt seem to let me past that block. Maybe was the wrong one?

For Mac devices using Apple Silicon/arm (M1/M2/etc.) CPUs that don't work with ATLauncher
Certain modpacks might crash if used in Curseforge or ATLauncher. In those cases you should download and install PrismLauncher.
Installing modpack
Click "Add Instance", select "Curseforge", then filter the modpack you want to play. Select it and click on "OK".
Blocked mods
In some cases PrismLauncher is unable to download blocked mods. Click "Open Missing" to downloads then in a browser, into a folder listed under "Watched Folders" (or add a new location of your choosing). Once done - review if the list has all mods marked with green checkbox.
Installing Java
Before you launch the game click on your instance, click "Edit", go to Settings, Java, click on "Download Java". Select Azul Zulu, Java 21, 21.0.7. Once installed, click on "Auto-detect..." and select the Azul one you just downloaded. Make sure to also check "Skip Java compatibility checks".
Moving existing world from Curseforge app
To transfer your Curseforge world to PrismLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Folder" on PrismLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
OK so ATLauncher is a no-go basically? I now need to try Prism Launcher? XD
i mean you can if you want lol i was just making a joke cuz i'm an active prism launcher advocate xd
oh ok ill try lol
You can try to click install, or reboot, it's having some weird issues. I've not seen that before today
I'll take a look at their Discord maybe
OH i also have a question about this thing i had to install when i was following the ATLauncher steps, when is this used?
you cut off the log
you can instlal the azul java right in prism itself, jut follow the directions from the macalt
please just upload the logs directly
i thought only the error was relevant
no
that's basically as useful as someone screenshotting a disconnect message and expecting someone to figure it out
hi, for the update the back up is obligatory? just incase i lose my items or anything?
it's highly recommended to always make backups
i always make backups whenever i change server files just to be safe
but for? like its my first time doing it, thx tho
because it's modded minecraft and a lot of things can go wrong
oh, so if i start an server it just crash or what could be the problem

do they join thru the port number and ip or im kinda new to this lol
it's almost definitely something you added
the .gg link, in direct connect
okay
i'll try removing them one by one, but none of these mess with any world gen or client gameplay to my knowledge
idk if its fucking it up but worldedit likely wont work try axiom
ok i'll try removing worldedit first
hey to load the back up do i make it normally? or bc its cursefurge do i make something else?
you simply take the world file and make a copy of it afaik. im not experienced in it, so please dont ping me or anyone else for that matter when asking a questio
oh mb, thx tho
yeah no dice with worldedit
anyone know how i can perm set the ram to 10gb without curseforge actually reseting it everytime and making me lag.

Hey so this didn’t answer my question. Will my modified mod pack become unmodified after updating
Added should remain. Removed will come back if they are still part of the mod pack. All mods that are part of the mod pack will switch to whatever version the mod pack says. Also I would recomend making a copy of your configs. They will also switch to modpack choices I believe.

Does anyone know what channels mean? Any assistance will be appreciated
anyone know how to use ancient tomes? i put them in a anvil and it doesn't work doesn't effect my weapons
in my last game i found and took over some kind of illager structure that was a walled camp with cells for villagers, even a gallows. let the villagers out, threw some beds down and made it a village. what structure is this, and how would i look for another one? every time i /locate various illager or pillager things its just a tower or house, never a whole walled town
Which tome you use, and what enchants you have on your weapon?
i made a fresh diamond picaxe and tried putin a "+1 fortune enchantment (max IV)" but doesnt ive me the option to apply it
that sort of +1 has to go on an already enchanted item
so it will only go on fortune 3
It can probably go on fortune 1 too, but it's a waste
it makes it one over the typical maximum

SOLVED (updated to mod v40)
Just installed BetterMC, played it single player for the last few days, been loving it. Is there a known issue with backpacked though? Been trying to place my backpack on a shelf and can't seem to do it. Backpack is empty, I've tried both with it on my back and in my main hand and offhand. Right clicking makes a "use" hand movement but shelf remains empty. Shift right clicking picks up the shelf. Popped myself into creative and tried all sorts of placements and types of shelves but couldn't get it to place. Tried looking around to see if it was a known issue but didn't see anything.
- What Minecraft version are you using? (1.19.2, 1.20.1, ...)
1.20.1 (forge-47.4.0/forge) - What launcher did you run Minecraft with? (e.g. CurseForge, ATLauncher, MultiMC, ...)
CurseForge - Have you changed the modpack in any way? (e.g. changing mod versions, adding/removing mods)
Nope, fairly recent install as well - What version of the modpack are you using? (v11, v9, etc)
v39
Rest isn't applicable since there's no crash.

sorry am a bit new to this i have some crash file reports. IS anyone available to assist me in say 30 minutes?
is there a way to take off a single enchantment off an item with multiple enchantments?
just uplod the files here and someone will assist when they can
my server is local. i only replaced the folders
how would you know that?
no
Please read the full contents of the #get-support channel for us to provide assistance.
because your server isnt loading lol
Yup that did it! Shift clicking now no longer picks up the shelf, it just places the bag on my back, thanks! Guessing it had something to do with the suddenly removed from CurseForge inventory mod I read about in the changelogs causing the issue.
i did it properly bro
🎊 glad it was that simple
if you did your server would launch
Now it's back to picking up the whole shelf (for moving it). It worked so I picked it up again, changed it to look like the wandering trader pack, set it down on the shelf, picked it up again and changed it to look like the mini chest before setting it down again... and now I can't pick it up all of a sudden.
... and now I'm VERY confused because I've had the game paused while typing this... just unpaused to check that it's still not working... and it allowed be to pick up the pack. I switched the look of it to the sheep and it let me set down/pick up multiple times without issue.
I dunno, lol. I will keep an eye on it and give a proper bug report if it keeps happening.
thats why i ask
Aaaaah figured it out, it's a distance thing. If I'm standing within 2 blocks form it then it picks up the shelf. I need to be standing 3 blocks away to place/pickup bag
does anyone know if theres a way to take a single enchanment off a item with multiple and if its possible to keep chunks loaded when you're out of them i cant find an item that does it but theres so many items its hard to know what there is sometimes lol
just download the new server files and transfer your world folder over
read the questbook for how to forceload
and where do i find it?
You can use a chunk loader to keep chunks loaded
Thx
Hey can we hatch the ender dragon egg? if yes how do I do it

Hello,
Not sure if this is the place to ask but have a server question. Maybe this is a dathost question where i am hosting a bettermc server. I tried pasting a schematic and server crashed now i cannot connect. I have no idea what the issue could be. I even went to a backup and no luck, could pasting a build that crashes the server corrupt something? But why would the backup also not work?

I don't think my game crash has anything to do with the launcher.

Please follow the performance guide to improve your game performance, as this is likely to resolve your issue.
ok

PCL isn't an approved launcher
It's not that your issue has anything to do with the launcher - it's that we don't know PCL2, and don't provide support for it
So it's more of a if you want help - use something we know
Although my modpack was downloaded through PCL2, the PCL launcher itself directly sources files from CurseForge. There are absolutely no copyright issues—it's fundamentally identical to downloading directly from CurseForge.
through curse's app? it breaks horribly
The crash was caused by a mod conflict between Simple Storage Network and Client Sort. I uploaded this crash report to highlight the issue, which has nothing to do with the launcher.
sr, it's my bad, i'll try to resolve that crash myself
so wait, were you trying to use the inventory sorter in the storage network terminal? because that UI already has a sort functionality, i'm not surprised it caused issues
I understand what you're saying. The crash occurred while organizing my own inventory, not from attempting to sort the storage network.

Hey peeps, just a bit confused, whem someone does the 'share world' button and it says its being hosted, how do i actually join them?
then you wouldnt be experiencing issues
!ws
Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The 'Essential' mod is therefore incompatible.
To share your world using our own world hosting, click the 'Open to Lan' or 'Share World' button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.
It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!
We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.

"not rich" is always the funniest thing to me about a game that's less than $30 lol
Nah, I understand that for some $30 might be a lot
I wouldn't mock anyone for not having money
well yeah of course but it's not a "rich" thing
On the other hand we cannot accept piracy

Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.

issue is comming when we are joining server
so like it issnt any client issue
yes, the guide tells you how to install it on the server, you dont just put a zip file and be done with it
I am having insane memory leaks even on a super flat world that just started. I added spark mod to help me but how do i use it
hey what mods do i need for shaders
none, shader support is included in lps packs, just go to options, video settings, and theres a shaders button with preinstalled packs to try out to see what you like best

/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50
Then, send the link in this channel.
this is just for me as a single player
no like oculus and what?
for bmc you dont need to install anything theres already mods for it in it
oh no no no i meant what mods you use in your modpacks i want to make my own
for forge, xenon & oculus
thanks
follow the instructions

You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!
1. Identify your graphics card
if you already know skip to the next step
- Open task manager
- Navigate to the "Performance" tab (on Windows 11 this is the button that looks like a heart pulse)
- Press the GPU 0 graph and read your GPU from the top right
Note:
In some cases you may see a GPU 0 and GPU 1. This means your CPU has its own GPU, as well as a dedicated one. You probably want GPU 1 (which is usually the better one), but you can ask staff to clarify if necessary.
2. Download your drivers from the manufacturers site
Depending on what you read before, you likely need drivers from either AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA
AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support
Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html
NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Note:
- For NVIDIA you want to select "Game Ready Driver (GRD)" (this is the default option) for the best performance. Once installing you'd probably prefer downloading GeForce Experience, which will notify you when there's an available drivers update.
- For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically
- For AMD you probably want to just press "Download Windows Drivers", which will download something called AMD Adrenaline, which will update your drivers automatically.
3. Run the installation, restart your computer, and try playing MC again
- At this point, hopefully your Minecraft is running. If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.

can i use neoforge jar

i tried it but it didnt work
in pterodactyl panel we need to use server jar
sort of a generalized modpack question but. whats the one called that gives you a minimap and teleport ability? and secondly, whats the one that shows you what your cursor is over, what kind of wood, what kind of block etc i have skimmed the list of 324 mods in this pack and not found it based on name alone
then run the script once on your own so it downloads the files it needs and you'll have a server jar
Jade is probably the heads-up display for what block/entity you're looking at, but there's a variety of minimaps/map mods out there, so.
its most like xaeros, so im gonna try that. i didnt make it to the end of the list when i typed that lol
ill look at jade thank you so much
oh goodness it is jade thank you!
