How To View Paging File Size
Before anything else screenshot how much disk space each of your drives have and post it as it might be caused by low disk space.
From the Windows search button search up "Advanced System Settings" and open the first result.
Press the "Settings" button located under the Performance section.
In the new section that has opened press "Advanced" and after press the "Change" button located under the "Virtual Memory" section.
After locating it screenshot the resulting page and post it.
ohh yeaaah
i forgot to bring that up
ima try that out
i think
i shouldve put it to smthing aroound 6k
oh wow
no, keep it at automatic
unless you absolutely know what you're doing you should not change those settings
post the crash assistant info like it told you to
ok one sec
okay so it worked
thank you guys for the help
much thankful
where are the brass dungeons in the aether i can find any how high up are they
ooo ghost dragon egg
ive added OptiFine_1.20.1_HD_U_I6 into my mods folder the version of forge that this optifine is made for is 47.2.18 my forge version with this modpack is 47.3.10 ive had a look in the optifine website for a version of forge that matches my vesion but i cant find one does that mean im not able to get shaders or can i. if i can how?
!optifine
It is highly advised to not use Optifine, as it is very glitchy, will increase loading times to upwards of 10 minutes, and will decrease your FPS substantially. All Luna Pixel Studios modpacks come with shader support without Optifine via Oculus on Forge and Iris on Fabric. Optifine is also incompatible with all of our modpacks. The game will not launch with Optifine installed.
If you are interested in Optifine alternatives for your own gameplay, you can find a list here
Note that a majority of these mods are already included in our modpacks.
For an indepth explanation of why Optifine is bad, you can read this document created by Sodium's developer, Jellysquid.
there's already built in shader support
thanks
idk if ur gonna see this any time soon chloe but do you know the mod / config for whatever spawns the white particles ? id like to potentially disable them cus my game isnt a fan xd
ill add they spawn regardless of biome / season which leads me to believe its not even a particle but rather some weird entity
my friend repaired the profile on curseforge and now he cant rejoin my server, has anyone encountered this issue before?
!wsfull
World Sharing servers are currently at capacity
If you're receiving the error "Connection refused: no further information" when trying to join a friend through "Start Co-op" or "Host World", it's likely that Luna's servers (used for world sharing) are currently full. We don't have a way to notify you when slots on our servers free up, but you are welcome to try again later.
We understand and recognise that this may be inconvenient, so we recommend in this case to host or rent your own server. For more information on hosting options, type !server.

:(
Free Method
To host a server on your own computer, read the selfhosting guide.
This guide goes over how to install, create, and launch a free Minecraft server on all operating systems (MacOS, Linux and Windows). The guide also guides you through installing Java and optimizing your server for better performance.
If you are installing one of our older modpacks, ignore the "README" file that is included in the serverpack files, as they have outdated information.
Paid Method
We suggest renting a server from Bisect Hosting:
Approx. $10 - $25 a month depending on what plan you choose. You can also get 25% off with Code LunaPixel.
Go here and order a plan which fits you. We suggest 1GB per player but nothing lower than 4GB as the server needs at least 3GB to run.
Go to #server-hosting for more Info!
The following advice works for both the Free and Paid methods:
Transferring Your World
If you're playing Singleplayer and want to transfer your world to your server, simply go to your modpack files and navigate to the saves folder. Inside of this folder, you will see your world saves. Rename your desired world save to world. You can then transfer this folder to your server files. If your world was hosted via world sharing, this process has to be done by the person who would click "Share World".
Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.
that command doesn't update if it's not full btw
it's just info for telling people it's full
oh
everytime i try to join a friends server it says connection timed out: no further information, is there a way to fix that?
is there a wiki to see structures
how can i fix this?
please do not delete anything from the pack
no
what launcher
TLauncher is known spyware and is also unable to install mods or modpacks correctly. Because we offer no support for piracy due to Discord TOS, you will need to provide proof you own a legitimate copy of Minecraft or leave the server. For a safe, working way to install both mods and modpacks, read the #faq guide on installing modpacks.
oop
welp
that sucks
lmaoo
@twin blade did u figure it out
dang
self hosted
did they modify the pack at all for server side
no
it was working fine until it started to time out
then i repaired the profile to try and fix it
and now it doesnt work at all
then thats something that theyd likely need to fix on their end, where was the server pack installed from?
curseforge
app or web
app
tell them to try website instead
ok
only reason youd be getting disconnect issues like that is if mods are mismatched for server and client im pretty certain
its mainly connecting to the server issues
it times out before loading the world in
so idk
i also tried reinstalling the modpack]
same thing
whats the exact error its giving when you try to log in
!cracked
If you are using a cracked Minecraft launcher, we can not assist with your issue. In order to receive help, you need to switch to an approved launcher and provide proof you have purchased Minecraft. This is due to the terms of service and guideline agreements of both Mojang and Discord.

have they reinstalled the server pack onto the server?
^^ im actually having the same issue
it was working just fine two days ago and all the sudden after an update it stopped working
hmm
the issue started this after noon even though it was working this morning
if theres no fix then it is what it is but its just a tad annoying
is there a way in bmc4 v36 to take enchantments into a book or something? I thought earlyer versions of this modpack had disenchanting table xD. But i might be confusing it with a different pack.
Also is there a good way to get soulsteal, have been trying to get it in enchanting table no luck so far also cant find any books or items that have it so far ^^
by any chance did you update the modpack on curse forge and then it stopped working?
only thing i could suggest is askign them to try to reinstall the server pack
alright, thanks for the help :)
still not working :(
how do i fix this
we just tried to ping the server with cmd and its receiving, so there's nothing wrong with the internet or any connection issue, we're thinking there might just be something wrong with one of the mods or something
hmm okay
Literally all that means is it can see it on the internet. That in no way means there's something wrong with a mod

For Mac devices using Apple Silicon/arm (M1/M2/etc.) CPUs
There is an issue with Java 17.0.8 and newer where you may experience "A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment", which can cause the Java runtime to crash under a variety of circumstances. To resolve this:
Mac:
- Go here and hover over the Download buttons until you see one with the option to install a .dmg file. If you have an M-series Mac, then make sure to install the ARM64 version of this file.
- Run the
!alternatescommand in #bots and follow the directions. If you already have ATL installed, move on to step 3. - Click "Settings" on the right
- Click "Java/Minecraft" at the top
- Set "Use Java Provided by Minecraft" to false by unchecking the checkbox
- Manually specify the following Java path in the text box to the left to the "Reset" button:
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/zulu-21.jdk/Contents/Home
Thank you but this is way too complicated... it used to work on my older mac without a need of all this, it says one mod is causing the problem, can't I just run an older version or something ?
I just tried V38 and it didn't work neither...
yall gotta nerf orchard💔
i wonder why bmc4 is so well optimized compared to other packs? there's over 340 mods
yet it still runs really smoohtly with shaders
compared to like steampunk or prominence
can i make my current 1.20.1 version world to a 1.21 world?
both of those are optimized as well lol, prom is just a bit heavier with more world altering things
GUYS, I managed to join a public server but I still can't create my own world, would it work if I rent a server with a friend ?
Hi guys, trying to play online with the code with some friends, was working fine yesterday and now nobody can connect to the world with the code, any ideas? been trying for hours and no luck
they are just stuck on connecting to world and then it times out
BMC4 btw
hello, my partner and i are trying to defeat the wither in bmc5, he spawns in perfectly fine but as soon as we hit him once the game freezes completely. anyone else had any issues with this? if so please let me know if theres any way to fix <3
okay bmc 4 looks really nice with insanity shaders
🚫 kaizakia, that command is disabled in this channel.
hey, i have the same problem here. I don't know if the servers r down or something else, i guess we'll have to wait until it's on again or somebody help us xd

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.
To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.
This video explains the process: https://youtu.be/xMYW1wMbmkM
To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
How do I fix this?
Make more space on your harddrive?
well a. you are out of storage b. you need a modded launcher

I tried downloading the serverpack and i tried both powershell fixes but when i try to run start.ps1 it still closes powershell instantly any1 knows the fix?
!powershell
An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!
Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.
Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:UsersUsernameDocumentsMinecraftServer)
You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.
IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

are the servers often at max cap or is it bec of holiday
Seems like the issue might be server side. Can you share the logs?
Normally they're fine, holidays make them busy
is there a way to check how full they are?
No
it's not my server, are the logs still relevent?
Maybe the server is on an older version then? Hard to say without logs really
You might want to speak with your server admin
I switched over to modrinth from curseforge to get texture packs n shaders. But i'm afraid i'll have to go back to curseforge since that works fine

The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.
in conclusion remove essential and get a modded launcher and thatll likely solve it

thats to install java for people that doent have it
what pack is it?
Download GraalVM and extract it, then replace some values in variables.txt to point to it
this too
it doesnt show up in the resource pack folder :(
tho you dont need GraalVM
what is this graalvm and why would i want that?
nope just bmc 5 but we cant figure out the issue
i provide my own paths to java in my dashboard
Then provide the path to it in variables.txt
GraalVM is Oracle Java that's good for Minecraft
!alternates broken install for one of you
If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
Due to more aggressive GC
yall someone help me... 💔
typically am using openjdk but this is what i mean by explicitly telling each server which java to run.
"/usr/lib/jvm/java-17-openjdk-amd64/bin/java" -Xms6144M -Xmx6144M -jar fabric-server-mc.1.19.2-loader.0.16.9-launcher.1.0.1.jar nogui
only issue is that this setup script bombs because it tries to install "jabba" in a home directory that doesn't exist.
Just do what I told you to do
Script doesn't see your Java, so tries to install it
are you saying that if it finds java in the poath it wont attempt?
ok i gotcha. thanks
No, I'm saying look into the file that I mentioned two times already
You'll understand what the script is using

World Sharing servers are currently at capacity
If you're receiving the error "Connection refused: no further information" when trying to join a friend through "Start Co-op" or "Host World", it's likely that Luna's servers (used for world sharing) are currently full. We don't have a way to notify you when slots on our servers free up, but you are welcome to try again later.
We understand and recognise that this may be inconvenient, so we recommend in this case to host or rent your own server. For more information on hosting options, type !server.

yall how do i host my world to my friends?
!ws
Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The 'Essential' mod is therefore incompatible.
To share your world using our own world hosting, click the 'Open to Lan' or 'Share World' button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.
It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!
We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.
servers are pretty full though bc easter weekend
can someone help... 😭 just need to figure this out...
it doesnt work
like i just said
can someone please tell me how to connect to my friends server
it isnt working on my side
Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.
i just need to remove the texture pack... 💔
it doesnt show up in my resourcepack folder im goin insane over this

Here's how to allow a program through the Windows Firewall:
Open Windows Security: Search for "Windows Security" in the Start menu and select it.
Access Firewall & Network Protection: Click on "Firewall & network protection".
Allow an App Through Firewall: Select "Allow an app through firewall".
Change Settings: Click "Change settings" to enable modifications.
Add or Modify Apps:
Add an app: If the program is not already in the list, select "Allow another app" and enter the path to the program's executable.
Remove an app: Uncheck the box next to the program you want to remove.
Choose Network Type: Check the boxes next to "Private network" and/or "Public network" to allow the program to communicate on those network types.
Apply Changes: Click "OK" to save the changes.
i installed java 21, updated the JAVA variable like suggested earlier so it points to the correct folder. and it still tries to install this jabba stuff

the server has an older version of it, 1.20.1-1.2.4, you have 1.2.7
what version do i download on curseforge
are you supposed to continue to run the "start.sh" each time to run the server or is that just for setup? because why does it keep trying to install every time i run it, after successfull installation
Ohhh Alr thank you
the one that says 1.2.4 in front of it
i just installed the second newest one to check if thats the one
i had the latest one
most top
why doesnt this server have a modpack that just works
if you have us tinker a mod add in in big text on the front page so you dont get a million questions everytime someone wants to join
ill install the latest version again and then change the farmers delight to the other version
nvm it works
its the second to last modpack version
V38 is needed

The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.

how can i fix my better mc 1.19.2 crashing every 10 mins?
hi, me and my boyfriend started a world a month ago and have been working on it since -- we've been using multiplayer, for the past 3 days i have tried to join muiltiplayer through direct connection but it's not working anymore. the error says "connection timed out: getsockopt" im wondering if anyone at all here knows why its doing this or how to fix it? we're kind of desperate at this point because we've gotten so far into the world and we dont wanna lose our progress. if anyone knows about this or has fixed this before please let us know, its been very frustrating
oh huh its not there
clcik on the latest file and then theres "additional files" tab
oh wait pls that is the server pack
hi, i am having an issue with playing on a lan server with direct connection. we have been playing on our server for two weeks with no issues, however as of yesterday i keep getting the message "Connection timed out: no further information" everytime i try to join the world via direct connection. my girlfriend is hosting it, we are on the same wifi and have tried it on a different network/pc and we've also tried without firewall, i can join other worlds but not the one we have been playing on. could anybody help me?

World Sharing servers are currently at capacity
If you're receiving the error "Connection refused: no further information" when trying to join a friend through "Start Co-op" or "Host World", it's likely that Luna's servers (used for world sharing) are currently full. We don't have a way to notify you when slots on our servers free up, but you are welcome to try again later.
We understand and recognise that this may be inconvenient, so we recommend in this case to host or rent your own server. For more information on hosting options, type !server.

You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.
thank you!

question for anyone running bettermc on a server, i notice that on my iron farm whenever a golem is spawned the server lags
what are some cool resource packs to add?
this is even worse with BIGGER iron farms
!ca - do you get this popup?
hmm nope i dont
it just go to mc launcher and says crash code: 1
how to fix this?
!gpu
To resolve general GPU issues, make sure that:
- Your DisplayPort or HDMI cable is connected to your GPU and not your motherboard. If this is not the case, then your PC will be using your iGPU for display, Minecraft cannot use your GPU if it's not the display GPU.
- On Windows settings, you're using the performance mode (this mostly affects laptops) as it might be using your iGPU instead, you can check this ingame in the F3 Menu, on the right side it should show the current GPU used by the game.
You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!
1. Identify your graphics card
if you already know skip to the next step
- Open task manager
- Navigate to the "Performance" tab (on Windows 11 this is the button that looks like a heart pulse)
- Press the GPU 0 graph and read your GPU from the top right
Note:
In some cases you may see a GPU 0 and GPU 1. This means your CPU has its own GPU, as well as a dedicated one. You probably want GPU 1 (which is usually the better one), but you can ask staff to clarify if necessary.
2. Download your drivers from the manufacturers site
Depending on what you read before, you likely need drivers from either AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA
AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support
Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html
NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Note:
- For NVIDIA you want to select "Game Ready Driver (GRD)" (this is the default option) for the best performance. Once installing you'd probably prefer downloading GeForce Experience, which will notify you when there's an available drivers update.
- For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically
- For AMD you probably want to just press "Download Windows Drivers", which will download something called AMD Adrenaline, which will update your drivers automatically.
3. Run the installation, restart your computer, and try playing MC again
- At this point, hopefully your Minecraft is running. If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.
can someone explain wich solution is the best to create a Better MC forge server on a dedicated host ? i used feather launcher but i get crash evry time a sorcerer hit someone with a spell i think i did something wrong since i don't get any solution on google

Fixing Lag
To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.

okey i give it a try
i doubt itd be working at all if it decided to install bmc5 instead it may be a visual error
I sent the log file in the chat in case you missed
i ve tried both
which one are you currently doing tho

i assume youve simply tried to just close powershell right
No i did /stop
Until it was stuck on a thread
im lost and confused
im not all too familiar with that but idk why /stop is behaving like that
i really recommend just, trying to reinstall the server pack
make sure you are on the proper website when you are doing this
thanks i give it a try
Im hosting the server on my PC. PC has 64GB of available RAM and pretty high specs so that shouldnt be the problem. I installed it like in the self host guide ran in through and when i did /stop it dispatched unloading events for the configs and then gave me the Stuck thread: pool-19-thread-1
The issue also occurred on a second server
I dont know if thats a major problem or just me
ive never seen anything like that so i really am not sure what to say
hopefully chloe if she knows anything about it or maybe uhh
@stone mountain maybe you are wise
I've seen a few people have this issue recently, so something must get stuck
But debugging issues like that is not something I usually do
frick
i literally have never ran a server b4 let me be
i havent either its just my lifes goal to be annoying
Remember that Helpers have the ability to timeout people or remove their channel access 🙂

Not that we would ever overuse this

are servers still maxed?
@viral garden Hi sorry to interrupt you and ping you but i could need a helping hand right now:
My self hosted server doesnt stop on the BMC5 [NEOFORGE] 1.21.1 v27.5 version when i do the /stop command in Powershell.
AllTheLeaks tells me that it is stuck on thread: pool-19-thread-1 and continues on and on. I can provide you with a Screenshot of the Powershell console aswell as the log of the server itself if needed.
Possibly yes
:(
so box or?
Is mending possible with a level 1 librarian in this version of better mc? Or is it locked behind a Swamp villager trade?
which pack?
or
version
in neoforge ver it still works in diff biomes other than swamp
Hey there!
When i join a world made by someone else, there seems to be random lava puddles spawning in and other stuff like that. How to fix it?
I just have it through curseforge.
what does that mean?
no like, what version of bmc
bmc4 or 5
neoforge is a modloader
is there a potion of infestation?
bmc 4
Should work like that in all packs, since it's not even a thing in vanilla (it's still an experiment)
i forgot if they officially implemented it yet
Which is why I'm telling you 🙂
playing on version 38 for a better mc server, is it really impossible to use mimicream for anything else other than the mosquito gun thing
ive tried duping items with it, but nothing happens
are the servers still full?
if you are unable to join one, then yes its likely
jei is in the pack to check crafting recipes
its a smithing table upgrade
you cant craft it via regular means
you combine it with a netherite piece and a regular smithing upgrade
you cant worldshare if you are on a public server..?
why would that work
!ws follow the guide

3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.

Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. this issue isnt our fault
Better MC 4 - v39 crashed. The logs have been uploaded to mclo.gs:
- 1.20.1 [FORGE]
- What launcher did you run Minecraft with? -> Curseforge!
- Have you changed the modpack in any way except mods? -> No
- v39
- Have you ever gotten past the crash condition without crashing, or does the game always crash?
-> this is my first time loading the modpack up, and when it was about to load into the world, it crashed. - What steps cause the crash?
-> I loaded up my game, started a new world, and it started loading, then crashed.

Out of curiosity is there a reason why the thread gets stuck upon shutdown?
you can try removing all the leaks i guess
i dont know. its not that bad to just close the window lmao
It means a mismatch between a server and a client, while creating a connection. There are a number of reasons:
- updated/removed mods on either side
- server running vanilla instead of modded (happens when someone follow a vanilla guide and is lacking forge/fabric)
- server running modded, but the folder structure is incorrect (e.g. someone using client zip instead of a server)
does anyone know why my friend cant connect to my server

To better assist with fixing your issue, we will need some logs:
-
Curseforge -> Right click the modpack instance -> Open Folder.
-
ATLauncher -> Click 'Open Folder' on the modpack instance.
-
MultiMC -> Select your instace and click 'Instance Folder' on the right.
-
** For servers** -> Open the folder containing your server files.
To find the latest.log file, navigate to the 'logs' folder.
To find the hs_err_pid.log file, simply look for the file name after opening the instance folder.
To find a crash report, navigate to the 'crash-reports folder and find the most recent file after your crash occurred.
Once located, please upload the requested file here. If it fails, upload to https://mclo.gs/ and share the link here.

I don't know if I am stupid for asking this question, but I've been trying to host a server on my pc for me and my girlfriend to play on, but powershell won't let me bypass the Execution policy, like it won't start even after I tell it to bybpass like in the text/tutorial?
Better MC 4 - v39 crashed without a crash report. The logs have been uploaded to mclo.gs:
- 1.20.1 [FORGE]
- What launcher did you run Minecraft with? (e.g. CurseForge, ATLauncher, MultiMC, ...)
- Have you changed the modpack in any way except mods?
- v39
- Have you ever gotten past the crash condition without crashing, or does the game always crash?
- What steps cause the crash?

Now edit variables.txt to add that new path where it installed, and set skip-java-checks to true, and run start.bat again
It should be under %userprofile%\Java
