just so i have the baseline covered for what state the server is in

if not, could you quickly answer these:

If there is no crash report, navigate to the logs folder and upload "latest.log."
If there is no log, navigate to the base pack directory and upload the hs_err_pid file, if there is one.

so from what im seeing, the server is timing out. the cause isn't clear from logs but you can run the spark mod to profile the server and see what might be causing the lag

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.

For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.

Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.

If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50
Then, send the link in this channel.

the game just crashes randomly so I'm not sure what the condition or steps for it are. Got this recently which kicked me from the game When a ticking exception occurs on a normal Entity Neruina will kill it to prevent the server from crashing, but if that Entity happens to be a player, it will kick them instead. If you weren't kicked the server would have crashed.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.

To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.

5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

Hey Im playing Better MC 5 and I was having some problems with the backpacked mod in it. The first issue is that anytime you die with your backpack on when its kept on your back from the accessory mod, I click on my gravestone and two backpacks are given meaning it duplicated. The second issue I have is with placing backpacks on shelves as I am not able to see any functionality the shelves have as when I right click on the shelf, nothing happens.

im using verson 1.18.2, curseforge, added mods/ptentially deleted mods(not sure what though because i havent played for a while.), v14, in the past i was able to play the game with no issue but i have been super busy and haven't had time to play, and yesterday i tried to launch the game and it kep crashing, today ive tried launghing but it still keeps crashing. when i lcik play the game acts like it's going to allow me to play, but then before it loads the minecraft screen/page it crashes. the log gives me these two errors

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.

To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

1. What Minecraft version are you using? (1.19.2, 1.20.1, ...)
   BMC5 [NeoForge] 1.21.1 v20
2. What launcher did you run Minecraft with? (e.g. CurseForge, ATLauncher, MultiMC, ...)
   ATLauncher, but it's irrelevant as this is an issue with the server crashing
3. Have you changed the modpack in any way? (e.g. changing mod versions, adding/removing mods)
   No
4. What version of the modpack are you using? (v11, v9, etc)
   v20
5. Have you ever gotten past the crash condition without crashing, or does the game always crash?
   Not in this version, and we probably won't, as I have switched the server to Fabric BMC3 which doesn't have the same issue
6. What steps cause the crash?
   Trying to start the server through the apex-hosting panel

As mentioned above, this issue is not present with Fabric BMC3, but hopefully the error messages I sent previously will help with debugging.

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.

To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

5. Have you ever gotten past the crash condition without crashing, or does the game always crash?
6. What steps cause the crash?

Required:

Open the game directory (right click pack -> open folder), navigate to the "crash-reports" folder and upload the latest available crash report.
If there is no crash report, navigate to the logs folder and upload "latest.log."
If there is no log, navigate to the base pack directory and upload the hs_err_pid file, if there is one.

Using the Better MC4 on MC 1.20.1 with Curseforge and im not getting very many vanilla passive mobs to spawn. I am hosting a server for friends and we have seen 2 cows 1 pig and a few chickens, but we have seen tons of the alexmobs. Is there a config that i can change to fix this?

Hosting a server for BMC4 on Bisect Hosting, the only change I made is making the Server hardcore. crashes seem to happen randomly but when it does happen the server seems to get stuck in a crash loop, crashing multiple times in the last few minutes

I can do that but I just need to know once I do that and send an updated spark log that I won't be told to swap it back to online mode as like I explained before when I swap it to online everyone has their inventories/playerdata reset. That's why I sent a separate spark log just to show it running in online mode with everyone online.

If you are using a cracked Minecraft launcher, we can not assist with your issue. In order to receive help, you need to switch to an approved launcher and provide proof you have purchased Minecraft. This is due to the terms of service and guideline agreements of both Mojang and Discord.

I did explain it earlier, someone had told me to change it while setting up the server and since I'm not experienced with this I just changed it as all I saw it as was a parameter in my server properties. I didn't think something like that would cause issues, once I realized and tried to change it back to online mode our player inventories got reset (presumably because it made new ones for online mode?)

and just rename the old files to the names of the new ones

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.

For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.

Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.

If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.

To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

Required:

Open the game directory (right click pack -> open folder), navigate to the "crash-reports" folder and upload the latest available crash report.
If there is no crash report, navigate to the logs folder and upload "latest.log."
If there is no log, navigate to the base pack directory and upload the hs_err_pid file, if there is one.
