Hi everyone !
I have a problem with serverpack v35. I downloaded and extracted the zip, then ran start.sh
It automatically installed Java 17 (using Jabba), whereas I had installed Java 21 with GraalVM (SDKMAN) (the wiki requires Java 21 for MC 1.20.1).
I think it's linked to a problem with armor stands or crafting tables.

I think it should work if you both install the essential mod with the same modloader and same version on modrinth

Create a profile on Modrinth with Fabric on Java 1.20.2 and your friend should do the same. Then it should work.

Install Essential Mod on this profile. Just pay attention that your profiles don't have incompatible discrepancies.

I'm playing single player, I've been through the performance guide, now using GraalVM. I'm on an ACER Nitro 5 laptop with built in NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU. In trying to fix this I've now configured Windows to use the correct GPU for graalvm's java exe.

Sometimes the first time I hit inventory, or use a crafting table, or backpack, the game freezes where I see the windows mouse pointer, if I hit escape the pointer goes away but I don't go back to playing. If I alt-tab out and back then I'm stuck at a flickering lunapixel background. I kill Minecraft and go back in and try again, eventually I can play. For a while I seemed to have the problem mostly just in my more established save, and going into a new world would work right away, then I could quit that save and safely get back into my established save.

5. Have you ever gotten past the crash condition without crashing, or does the game always crash? Yes, it happens unpredictably. For a while it only happened with my "Sick day" save, then it just now started happening with "New World" which I renamed to "No Banannas"...

   A. launch the instance
   B. Play save.
   C. Open inventory by hitting E, or by opening a chest. If the game hangs the first time and I have to kill it. But if it doesn't freeze then I'm fine for hours of playing.

Yeah, so I just seem to have worked around it by opening another save where I've got an empty inventory, then I saved and quit to title, and was able to open my "Sick day" save that was crashing when I went straight to it.

Open the game directory (right click pack -> open folder), navigate to the "crash-reports" folder and upload the latest available crash report.
If there is no crash report, navigate to the logs folder and upload "latest.log."
If there is no log, navigate to the base pack directory and upload the hs_err_pid file, if there is one.

it was when a structure from moogs voyager structures or mvs was loaded

after around 10 seconds the server crashed and removing the mod did not fix it sadly

the server ran fine on 34.5 but began to crash after updating it to version 35

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.

For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.

Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.

Hi people, trying to start a server for "Better Minecraft [FORGE] 1.20.1" and i cant seem to get it to work with my IP. I have other servers which work fine with the same IP and same port hosted from the same device. it just seems to not work with this pack. If i take my IP out of server.properties it will let me connect locally, but id like my friends to be able to join. (no hamachi please!)

Someone send me a seed and coordinates and this bug happened on my PC on singleplayer at the same chunks too. The chunks don't load, when you try to go back all loaded chunks are invisible and you have to close MC via task manager.

Is this Chunk Loading bug a well-known issue in BMC4 [FORGE] v35?

When you create a world with the seed: 4312595124482500659
And teleport to: 150 120 -4013

Then the chunks won't load anymore and already loaded chunks will get invisible if you try to go back to them. Also you have to close the game by task manager or any other force shutdown method.

This was tested on multiple different computers. I tested it on Singleplayer and not on a server, however I have heard that someone experienced that on a server too.

This doesn't happen on BMC4 [FORGE] v34.5

If you teleport to those coordinates at this seed the bug will occur. It was tested on multiple different computers. In my case on Singleplayer and not on a server.

Open the game directory (right click pack -> open folder), navigate to the "crash-reports" folder and upload the latest available crash report. Provided here: #better-mc-forge message
If there is no crash report, navigate to the logs folder and upload "latest.log."
If there is no log, navigate to the base pack directory and upload the hs_err_pid file, if there is one.

The crash happens at startup when forge is loading the mods (Screenshot at exact moment), when i disable BCLib (because i saw that in the log and just tried it), MC is launching but "ingame style" telling me that it needs BCLib for betternether and betterend to work, currently i am using Linux Mint 20.3 with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G, i played FTB modpacks with this setup no problem.
Crashreport is added, i could not find any information online why this is happening or how to deal with it.

Sorry, didnt know. I'm pretty sure there's a crash report i can send as well as some more info I can give. I am using BMC4 1.20.1 and the latest release, and I'm running it through the Curseforge app. I changed the modpack by adding alex's caves, travelers backpacks, distant horizons, distant worlds, Essentials multiplayer mod, basic end ores, basic nether ores, ATO (All the ores), Oh the biomes we've gone, and overpowered mending. I also plan to add Vivecraft, VRapi, and voicechat to run it with a friend of mine. I removed 3 mods to allow essentials to work, Luna forge (which very well may be the issue but I'm not too sure), drippy loading screen, and fancy menu. I was able to run this a few weeks ago, but at the time I had only added travelers backpack and essentials, and i removed the 3 I mentioned and it ran perfectly fine. I tried running it like this as well and had the same crashing issue. It crashes with or without the mods I mentioned that were added. I was not able to get past the crash at any point, it always crashes. The steps that cause the crash go as follows; I press play on the modpack from within the Curseforge app, it launches a seperate mc launcher with the correct version of forge, I press play, and it launches temporarily but soon crashes before I can reach the main menu.

Here is the crash report. Let me know if I need to send any more info and I will gladly do so. Just trying to play the game lol. Ping me if for any reason someone decides to help me.

The portable .jar version of the ATL induces just by starting it my whole system to lag so hard i had to hard reset, i will not mess with this again.
The .deb version brings the same result. (crashing not lag)
btw i use the PrismLauncher-Linux-Qt5-Portable-9.1 and my system is up to date checked OpenGL, Java, Mesa.
I downloaded the pack manually from Forge, tried anything in my mind now, still always the exact same and i cant pinpoint the problem because i have hardly any idea about all these things in detail.
I hope its just a bug and not my system because my friend had exact the same on win 10.

To install ATLauncher, do the following:

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The 'Essential' mod is therefore incompatible.

That is good to know! In my case i do beleive it is entity blocks and render distance. I scalled all rendering to 8 Chunks, lowered map frame rate, couple other things. Went from 120 Average in my Chest room to 220, and also pull 900+fps now whilst flying. I believe dragons and my item frames are causing some fps drop for me. Still have to test the dragons tho but for sure chests and item frames

• reloading textures by pressing F3 + T

im also assuming you havent made changes, if you have made changes like installing new resource packs or adding mods then reinstall fresh first to see if the issue remains
