Assuming you actually took an Ancient tome of Bane of Arthropods that you found, putting that on a Diopside sword will make Bane of Arthropods VI add 15 damage to your sword AND inflict Slowness on the boss too.

Each point of Armor increases the amount of damage that you will resist from mob attacks. More armor means more damage reduction.
However, each point of armor won't just provide a flat amount of damage reduction. The more damage a mob does, the less your armor will protect you. This is why mobs like Piglin Brutes are so dangerous.
Armor Toughness helps to reduce the amount that high damage amount will bypass your armor (lower how much your armor will protect you).

With Feather Falling being good because it stacks with Protection.
And with full Prot 5 the other Protections are completely useless

Basically, whenever you're wearing armor with any type of Protection, you get "Protection Points"
These points will resist 4% of the damage type they are meant to Protect against.
Protection grants 1 point per level, Fire, Blast, and Projectile Protection grant 2 points per level, and Feather Falling grants 3 points per level.
The big thing though is that you can only have up to a max of 20 points of that protection type.
Protection grants the points to all the other types as well
Meaning that basically, with full Protection 5, you have maxed out points to all types of damage.
The main thing though is that in vanilla Minecraft, they only go up to 4.
Since Protection protects against everything, unlike the other Protections, it's better to have full Prot 4 than other Protection types.
