If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL.
To install ATLauncher, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATLauncher does not see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "New Instance". Click "Ok" on the opted out mods warning, then click "Open All" on the manual download screen.
7. Let the mods download, ATLauncher will grab them from your Downloads folder and automatically add them to the modpack.
8. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.
This video explains the process: https://youtu.be/xMYW1wMbmkM
To transfer your Curseforge world to ATLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATLauncher downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATLauncher also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATLauncher installed.

my problem is when i try to download an external mod like (easy villagers, more villagers)
my game crashs can someone help me fix this problem
and i cant open the crash report file cuz i cant see it
Hey guys, I've had some very strange "crashes" recently. Essentially, the screen would totally freeze, but I can still hear myself interacting with the game. If I try to click around or alt tab out and back in, I see the minecraft menu screen rapidly flickering. The game itself seems to be responding fine but it of course is unplayable at that point due to not being able to see the game. Any ideas?
Please follow the performance guide to improve your game performance, as this is likely to resolve your issue.
you didnt send logs
please read #get-support fully
Hm, I have allocated 8gb of ram, using graal vm 21 through ATlauncher, all shaders off and am running at a stable 80fps in game. Is there still more I should do from the performance guide?
send a screenshot with f3 open ingame
okay
i fixed my problem tysm
if i get this problem again i will ask for help
Okay from a tiny bit of self diagnostics, GPU = 100% is probably not a good thing right?
lmaoa
can you send the screenshot please
yes.
okay
okay so what I did is went back to the spot underground where I crashed last time just to make sure its the same conditions
and underground all those numbers look fine
the ones that I usually would look at anyways*
for bmc4?
mhm.
Yeah just crashed again. Hm.
your game is using your integrated graphics instead of your gpu
send logs pls
I force closed it fyi

bro this is a bit of a tragedy
so I know it might sound like I started using this laptop 4 seconds ago due to the fact that I didn't even realise minecraft wasnt using the right gpu
but I've been playing minecraft on this laptop for like what more than a year and a half and
I was always disapointed that running shaders put me on 6 fps
but they literally run pretty fine now
anyways this is a huge W for my laptop minecraft career
yeah I mean ty 1000%
yea my life is changed for the bette
On another note, if I hatch a dragon and it wanders off, is it eventually gonna come back to me or have I just lost it.
It's not looking good

update the betterchunkloading mod
well i just checked, betterchunkloading is on the latest version for forge 1.20.1 :/
is essential mod compatible with better mc 1.20.1?
The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.
remove it for now
oh okk thx i did not know that
its not a bcl crash, its a vanilla one, bcl just delays the fluid ticks to not have so many at once
probably something else caused the server to lag while it applied those ticks
ah okay
i see i see
it may be that some mods mixin into the vanilla fluid stuff causing an issue though
Hola
please read #get-support
Ok
1. What Minecraft version are you using? 1.20.1
2. What launcher did you run Minecraft with? CurseForge(Tlauncher)
3. Have you changed the modpack in any way? No
4. What version of the modpack are you using? V29

If you are using a cracked Minecraft launcher, we can not assist with your issue. In order to receive help, you need to switch to an approved launcher and provide proof you have purchased Minecraft. This is due to the terms of service and guideline agreements of both Mojang and Discord.
TLauncher is known spyware and is also unable to install mods or modpacks correctly. Because we offer no support for piracy due to Discord TOS, you will need to provide proof you own a legitimate copy of Minecraft or leave the server. For a safe, working way to install both mods and modpacks, read the #faq guide on installing modpacks.
I downloaded the mod in curseforge
And installed in tlauncher
The problem is that when I enter the game say that I add a mod
thats because you are using tlauncher

Why is it that only the aether dragon egg shows up in JEI
The mod registers all dragon eggs under the same item ID. The different dragon egg variants are decided by NBT data thats attached to the dragon egg. You will still be able to find the other dragon eggs by exploring and killing the ender dragon.
Rightt okay
Are each variant tied to specific structures
I liked the ghost one I hatched for all 10 seconds I knew him for
hello someone know where i can find this ?
check the twilight forest wiki
aether dragon - above y200
dragon dragon - in dragons breath
fire dragon - around fire_dragon_habitat_blocks (tag)
foret dragon - in jungle, around forest_dragon_habitat_blocks (tag)
ghost dragon - below y0, in light 0-2
ice dragon - around ice_dragon_habitat_blocks (tag)
nether dragon - around nether_dragon_habitat_blocks (tag)
waterdragon - around water_dragon_habitat_blocks (tag)
this will all be explained better in the questbook in v29

Paid Method
We suggest renting a server from Bisect Hosting:
Approx. $10 - $25 a month depending on what plan you choose. You can also get 25% off with Code LunaPixel.
Go here and order a plan which fits you. We suggest 1GB per player but nothing lower than 4GB as the server needs at least 3GB to run.
Go to #server-hosting for more Info!
Free Method
To host a server on your own computer, read the selfhosting guide.
This guide goes over how to install, create, and launch a free Minecraft server on all operating systems (MacOS, Linux and Windows). The guide also guides you through installing Java and optimizing your server for better performance.
If you are installing one of our older modpacks, ignore the "README" file that is included in the serverpack files, as they have outdated information.
is this bisect?
mhm?
go to "open jar menu"

search the modpack there
and then ur good
where lmao
I have a different hosting/server
you just said you're using bisect 😭
anyway your host probably has a way to install modpacks automatically
Sorry, I’m not fluent in reading or writing English

There is a different version on CurseForge than the one you mentioned.

hello, I was wondering where most general information for the mod pack could be found. Like a wiki of sorts for the different mods that are apart of better MC
this means that is all fine?
👍
what mod is incompatible with essential?
!ws
Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The "Essential" mod is therefore incompatible.
To share your world using our own world hosting, click the "Open to Lan" or "Share World" button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.
It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!
We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.
There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.

Different than a normal husk, idk I tried googling it and got nothing
They're like ghosts or sum shii
They spawn and disappear so idk, maybe splash potion of healing??

how can i fix the Exception ticking world?
Ok, I think I found the right area, how do I fix issues with my map? I had the normal map that's rendered into the game before any changes are made to the controls. For some reason the map changed to a FTB chunks map and I don't know how to fix it
Its usless tbh , it doesnt show how to get blocks etc
try to change ftb chunks map keybind to something else
what sort of blocks though. you can search in jei (the search on right side of inventory screen) and clicking on them should give you lists of ways it's used or how to get them
Well, there's no option for TBA map in the key binding. I did try resetting all the key bindings and it still didn't fix it
So, im playing in the 1.20.1 version, on curseforge, i added distant horizons, easy villagers, essential mod and 2 shaders, on v28, and in the past my game was perfect. My problem is exception ticking world, can you help me please?

!server

Thanks. I was unawares there was a linux client. I'll give it a whirl.
My problem with downloading the modpack from atlauncher is I added some extra mods
I also seemed to fix the previous issue and now just have this issue @viral garden
Uploaded message.txt from @inland cypress to mclogs: https://mclo.gs/m3uboBi
this is on a mac
i’m trying to add essential to it i just can’t find one that works
does anyone know what the hell the creeper in armor that keeps dissapearing when i get near is
how can i add more mods with this
does anyone know an essential mod that works on mac?
The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.

it breaks worlds and causes major issues
its impossible to help with other issues because of everything essential breaks lol

i do not have an issues with bugs im trying to identify a cryptid
If I want to add more mods to ATlauncher can I just copy my mods folder over from forge?
remove the essential mod
someone should totally play with me
!define
Curseforge - Refers to both the Curseforge website and Curseforge Launcher. The Curseforge Launcher is a modded launcher used to play & install modpacks. ATLauncher is a better alternative. All modded launchers can be used to install & play both Fabric and Forge modpacks.
Modpack - A collection of mods. "Better MC 1.19.2 Forge", for example, is a modpack.
Modpack Version - The version of the modpack you are playing. v5, v6, v7, etc.
Minecraft Version - The version of Minecraft which the modpack you are playing runs on. 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, etc.
Mod - A .jar file which modifies the game in some way. "BetterEnd", for example, is a mod.
Forge - A mod loader which allows you to use Forge mods.
Fabric - A mod loader which allows you to use Fabric mods.
and i wouldnt suggest copying over the whole folder
anyway to fix this, it doesn't show the crafting
wdym "the crafting"
crafting recipes
The laucnher won't even open up Minecraft?
press R while hovering to see recipes
be more specific please
I click the play button in the ATLauncher and literally nothing happens
After having installed Better MC with that instead of CurseForge
Please read the full contents of the #get-support channel for us to provide assistance.
send logs please
I did send a log for the one issue I was having... I don't want to switch launchers completely tbh.
Can you just look at the log for the issue I was having with quark
yes, its a curseforge issue
What exactly is the issue? I was launching the game just fine with no quark error. But then I started getting the BClib launch error which I fixed by reinstalling. Only then did I start getting the Quark errors
But it was working fine previously so I don't see how that's a launcher error
Is there armor for dragons? A bear almost popped my dragon
theres no dragon armor sadly
thank you
its likely just a corrupted install due to cf being buggy
thats why we suggest atl
while im here- any idea how to get slimes to spawn? cant find any in swamps
could anyone help me fix my atlauncher instance, whenever i attempt to open m world it crashes unexpectadly
Please read the full contents of the #get-support channel for us to provide assistance.
1.20.1
CurseForge Launcher
Added several mods:
Terralith
Distant Horizons
The Lost Cities
Eating Animations
Dynamic Trees
Dynamic Trees+
Dynamic Trees Biomes of Plenty
The Rake
Backrooms Eternal
Biome Particle Weather
Cave Dust
Cave Dweller Evolved
From the Fog
Nyf's Spiders
Various SCP mods by Zcoper
Boss Refreshed
Mobs Refreshed
Creepier Cave Dwellers
Bliss Shaders
Version 28
Can get it to work fine, however CurseForge will ask to update and when it does it crashes the game, the only mod causing this according to the crash report is BCLib which makes sense since it's the only one that needs fabric conversion
Mostly just trying to figure out what version of BClib is currently in v28 as I believe changing that will solve the problem
But also just trying to find a way to get distant horizons to run more smoothly, not sure if anyone works with it here I'm going to their server after this but if you know anything it would help out a lot ^^

!macjdk
For Mac devices using Apple Silicon/arm (M1/M2/etc.) CPUs
There is an issue with Java 17.0.8 and newer where you may experience "A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment", which can cause the Java runtime to crash under a variety of circumstances. To resolve this:
Mac:
- Go here and hover over the Download buttons until you see one with the option to install a .dmg file. If you have an M-series Mac, then make sure to install the ARM64 version of this file.
- Install ATLauncher and open it. For more information on how to install and use ATLauncher, run the
!alternatescommand in #bots. - Click "Settings" on the right
- Click "Java/Minecraft" at the top
- Set "Use Java Provided by Minecraft" to false by unchecking the checkbox
- Manually specify the following Java path in the text box to the left to the "Reset" button:
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/zulu-21.jdk/Contents/Home\
distant horizons is on 1.20.1 fabric
bclib works fine
and removing it would break the pack
no I understand that but im saying its version isnt compatible when updating the rest of the pack I just uninstalled Distant Horizons and it still crashed
I think if I just downgrade it specifically it might work
and its dependents
idk whatever it is, updating it on the curseforge mod loader is what breaks the pack
v29 (releasing later today) has all mods updated and it works fine :p
except the latest version of redirector which is broken
i'd suggest just installing on ATLauncher instead
idk what that is, the ui looks like modrinth which I really dont like their UI its too confusing to download stuff on
the screenshot i just took is curseforge launcher lol, its what i use for modpack dev
atlauncher is a lot more stable and better for playing modpacks

!glfw you can try this
For users who are experiencing issues with the built-in GLFW, there's a quick and easy solution for you to use the latest, bug-free GLFW that can remedy the solution.
- Download a pre-built GLFW library from my repository at https://github.com/Frontear/glfw-libs/releases. Ensure you download the correct file from the desription of the release. You may also compile it yourself, details can be found here: https://www.glfw.org/docs/latest/compile.html
- Save the file in a location you can remember and will NOT delete (the file MUST stay there or else it will stop working)
- In your launcher, go to the java parameters (this is the place you put your GC arguments), and add
-Dorg.lwjgl.glfw.libname="path/to/the/file". If, for example, you downloaded the file in your Downloads (C:\Users\Me\Downloads\glfw3.dll, then your argument would be-Dorg.lwjgl.glfw.libname="C:\Users\Me\Downloads\glfw3.dll")
!drivers or update drivers
You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!
1. Identify your graphics card
if you already know skip to the next step
- Open task manager
- Navigate to the "Performance" tab (on Windows 11 this is the button that looks like a heart pulse)
- Press the GPU 0 graph and read your GPU from the top right
Note:
In some cases you may see a GPU 0 and GPU 1. This means your CPU has its own GPU, as well as a dedicated one. You probably want GPU 1 (which is usually the better one), but you can ask staff to clarify if necessary.
2. Download your drivers from the manufacturers site
Depending on what you read before, you likely need drivers from either AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA
AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support
Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html
NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Note:
- For NVIDIA you want to select "Game Ready Driver (GRD)" (this is the default option) for the best performance. Once installing you'd probably prefer downloading GeForce Experience, which will notify you when there's an available drivers update.
- For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically
- For AMD you probably want to just press "Download Windows Drivers", which will download something called AMD Adrenaline, which will update your drivers automatically.
3. Run the installation, restart your computer, and try playing MC again
- At this point, hopefully your Minecraft is running. If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.
ill try that out, thanks
keep getting this warning
The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the #bots channel. Is there a way I can take my dragon into twilight
any shader recomendation for this mod?
there's a few already in the modpack you'll need to turn on yourself, as they are disabled by default for those who don't have strong enough computers for shaders.
escape, settings, video, shaders button
oh, okay i didnt notice that
thank you

np!
Update: it was dynamic trees, it's incompatible with the pack even when installing the compatibility patches
Aye yeah just seemed like disabling it wasn't enough I had to fully uninstall to check

he is stuck in the overworld
I coudn't find an item to pass him through

you can tame dragons and fly with them yes, but due to their large size I cannot pass them through portals, thus making them kinda useless in other worlds
get another dragon then :p
thats fire, also can i report bugs here cuz i got one
what bug
placing a book in one of those everbright towers with the kidnapped villagers or whatever dupes it

report it to the everbright devs
check if it happens on v29 though
just released
i use curseforge
im aware
thought 1.21 version dropped almost got so hyped
me too
soon™️
worth using any of theese?
up to you - look at what they do & see if you want it
its all basically just resourcepacks that change the textures of mods to their older textures lul
that fit old mc's art style
got it
Wait is there any better way to upgrade a server to the latest version? I dont know if everything is stored in the world data folder or if stuff has been chucked in configs and what not
Also the only way I've done it before is just start.sh which autogenerated all the config stuff, so not sure if I'd need to manually replace mods or what.
only the word folder, just transfer that over
serverpack is reuploading rn
Is it possible to run Distant Horizons with BMC4 ? I can install the mod and its special menu shows up in the settings but it just doesn't do anything, it's there but remains inactive
awesome
make sure to configure it ingame or it wont work
the default DH settings wont do anything to your game
I've been in the settings and tweaked pretty much everything in game but haven't managed to make it do anything unfortunately
retry on v29
Does the forge Moapak have more mods then fabric cuz I want my sodium but it isn't on forge
sodium is in both modpacks
all of our modpacks have it
Oh
Hi, I would like to ask how to update my better mc?
On BisectHosting, I updated it to the v29, and on curseforge I also updated to v29
but I still can't join my server from previous version
When I start my server on BisectHosting, it would start for a few seconds and then stop
what this means?
you dont have the same modpack installed as the server
the serverpack is reuploading rn
oh ok, so it will in a while?
yea
Thank you!
so I need to wait?
you need v29 client & serverside yes
Do i need to download something later?
Is there a better dragon mod like dragon mount
I found a way to take dragons to any dimension
2 of my dragons just straight up suffocated from just walking and sitting 😭😭
This mod can’t be real
steak heals them
Yeah let’s me heal them when I’m 40 blocks away
Everytime I press launch on the better minecraft error code 1 comes up and I don't know what to do :']
Could someone please help if they know what to do?
can we update our BMC4 forge v28 server to v29?
Please read the full contents of the #get-support channel for us to provide assistance.
