I have 32gb of ram on my PC, how much ram should I allocate to Better Minecraft Forge? (in curseforge app.) My friend said to do half, so 16gb, but I read online that 16gb is too much? I don't really use anything else except maybe one chrome tab, maybe a discord vc sometimes while playing. Modpack - A collection of mods. "Better MC 1.19.2 Forge", for example, is a modpack.
Modpack Version - The version of the modpack you are playing. v5, v6, v7, etc.
Minecraft Version - The version of Minecraft which the modpack you are playing runs on. 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, etc.
Mod - A .jar file which modifies the game in some way. "BetterEnd", for example, is a mod.
Forge - A mod loader which allows you to use Forge mods.
Fabric - A mod loader which allows you to use Fabric mods.

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

Guy's, I'm sorry if this is wrong area to ask, but I have no idea what I'm doing or where I'm going. Should I play better mc forge or fabric? I literally can not find a solid answer on this question. All I can see is that forge has 209 mods and is on 1.16, while fabric is on 1.19 and has 260 mods(according to curseforge). I'm not worried about performance, I just don't know which pack is the superior one. Please help me decide LOL

yeah, you'll really need it for everdawn/dusk, because only tools and weapons and armor from that dimension work fully, all other gear from anywhere else doesn't work near as well in those specific dimensions

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

It is highly advised to not use Optifine, as it is very glitchy, will increase loading times to upwards of 10 minutes, and will decrease your FPS substantially. All Luna Pixel Studios modpacks come with shader support without Optifine via Oculus on Forge and Iris on Fabric. Optifine is also incompatible with all of our modpacks. The game will not launch with Optifine installed.

I’m not sure if this is exclusively a help channel but speaking of quests, has anyone played with adding additional quests to the pack? My servers added like 20 to help further guide people through the mods and I was wondering if anyone has done something similar/has ideas

So far we’ve added a line of chef quests around the food mods, some Hunter quests in the over world section that revolve around finding and killing the various new wildlife mobs, and some general grind/minecraft based quests

#

Also, I just want to thank you for the help with getting the server back up @viral garden it was just a lag problem and doing what you said was able to fix it

I had a similar error but I fixed mine and cant remember what I did so that it launched properly.

We have already tried fixing the files in curseforge, redowloading the most recent version of forge for 1.19.2, restarting his computer, checking java for updates, etc.

An update to windows introduced a new security feature that prevents powershell files from running on your PC. This is great for your security, but not so great for our server start scripts, which require powershell to run them. Fortunately there is a quick fix for this!

Run powershell as administrator, then run Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned. Read the prompt and press accept. This will allow us to run scripts.

Next, navigate to your server directory using cd path/to/directory (for example: cd C:\Users\Username\Documents\Minecraft\Server)

You can now run the server by double-clicking the start.ps1 file, or typing .\start.ps1 into the command line while in the directory.

IF THE ABOVE DOES NOT WORK, TRY THIS
Run the command Unblock-File -Path .\start.ps1 in the same powershell window. This will allow the start script to not be blocked by windows, and run freely.

Okay so going to ask just in case, in the BetterMC Forge modpack, the mod Bygone Nether replaces soul sand to soul stone for spawning the Wither. Is it possible to find the soul stone outside of the Wither Catacombs?

Cause I have searched quite a bit around, at this point even with a resource pack that makes netherrack transparent to see if I can find it, yet it seems to spawn nowhere.

Hi. I have a problem, often when trying to enter the server pops up an error ''timed out'' and just what prevents entry. After some time you can enter sometimes not ... I do not know what it depends on, has anyone any idea ?

Hate to repost but,

The server I’m in was in V12 before we switched to the new one. My computer ran it amazingly, no issues, but now when I’ve loaded up V13. My screen seems to flicker/do the see though the world reload chunks screen for a moment when I place or break blocks. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Never had this issue on the V12

I wanted to ask a question, if possible, about chest loot generation

I wanted to get dragon eggs from chest loot from the Dragon legacy mounts mod, did research and discovered it is turned off by default, after some hours searching i was able to turn it on, my question is

now that i have turned it on, do i have to make a new world so that chest loot gets generated again, or is it good enough to go and discover new chunks with chests and those should have the eggs

Yes, on the version of the mod for 1.19.2, dragon eggs in chest loot is not enabled, you have to go and enable it manually, the only other way to get a dragon egg is to beat the ender dragon and get its egg

Modpack - A collection of mods. "Better MC 1.19.2 Forge", for example, is a modpack.
Modpack Version - The version of the modpack you are playing. v5, v6, v7, etc.
Minecraft Version - The version of Minecraft which the modpack you are playing runs on. 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, etc.
Mod - A .jar file which modifies the game in some way. "BetterEnd", for example, is a mod.

ive been playing on a world (1.19) for over a month now, and i am all of a sudden experiencing an issue where when i join the world i can move around but cant open my inventory, load new chunks, send chat messages/commands, or even dismount my horse. is this a known issue that anyone knows about? i want to post an issue on the github but i dont even know what part of the log.txt to post because it's so long

the game doesn't completely crash itself, it just locks up and prevents me from doing anything other than move my character. it stays like this until forcibly closed

We suggest using one of these two launchers for several reasons. They are considered far better than any other launcher. When installing a modpack on either launcher, do it through the Curseforge tab within GDLauncher/ATLauncher. You can transfer your Curseforge save to GDL/ATL. Because you are downloading the exact same files, you'll still be able to join the same servers and worlds.

ATLauncher - Slightly harder to use, works offline, fast and efficient, has more features. Can be downloaded from https://atlauncher.com/downloads

GDLauncher - Easy to use, works offline, does all the work for you, very simplistic and sleek design but it feels bloated to make it look nice and people do have issues with it. Can be downloaded from https://gdlauncher.com/en/download/

I don't get it. i upgraded from a gtx 1080 to a rtx 3070 today and I see no difference in fps. It's between 33-58 fps.

I'm running a i7 8700k, I have 32 GB of DDR4 RAM of which i've assigned about 8,2 GB to minecraft. The game runs off a nvme m.2 ssd. I followed the performance guide to the letter, I'm using AT launcher, downloaded the right Java versions. can someone explain why i'm still getting the same amount of frames?

Download an adoptium release for Java (recommended but not required):

Java 11 (https://adoptium.net/temurin/releases/?version=11) for versions 1.16.5 and below (can also use 8 if its not working)
Java 18 (https://adoptium.net/temurin/releases/?version=18) for any versions newer (or 17 if 18 doesn't work)
Consider installing the JRE instead of the JDK for a smaller file size

When installing through adoptium, make sure that Add to PATH and Set JAVA_HOME variable are both set to be installed (please see https://imgur.com/a/jPu1h7h for how that would look)
Check if java has been correctly installed by running java --version (or java -version on older versions), and seeing if the output is correct (see https://imgur.com/a/OWcoq4p for an example of the output)

NOTE: 64 bit versions of java ALWAYS have '64-bit Server VM' in the version output. If that is not there, you have installed a 32-BIT version!! If you're getting Out of Memory errors or any other errors, PLEASE install 64-bit

If the output isn't as intended, you have 2 options.
i) Delete ALL other java versions from your PC (ONLY recommended if you don't need them)
ii) Redirect your launcher/server to use your new installation of Java

Method i

Uninstall any other java program listed in your programs list (differs by OS, please find a guide for your own OS if you don't know)
Attempt to re-use the command mentioned above (if the output is now correct, which it should be, you are ready to go)

Method ii

For a server, please modify the $Java/JAVA variable (found in your startup script depending on ps1/sh) to the path of your java installation. For windows, this path is usually found in "Program Files/Eclipse Adoptium/version_of_java/bin"
For a client, depending on whether you use CurseForge, GD, or AT, the process is slightly different. Please see a guide for each respective launcher on how to change the java version.
