You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!

1. Identify your graphics card
if you already know skip to the next step

  • Open task manager
  • Navigate to the "Performance" tab (on Windows 11 this is the button that looks like a heart pulse)
  • Press the GPU 0 graph and read your GPU from the top right

Note:
In some cases you may see a GPU 0 and GPU 1. This means your CPU has its own GPU, as well as a dedicated one. You probably want GPU 1 (which is usually the better one), but you can ask staff to clarify if necessary.

2. Download your drivers from the manufacturers site
Depending on what you read before, you likely need drivers from either AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA

NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Note:

  • For NVIDIA you want to select "Game Ready Driver (GRD)" (this is the default option) for the best performance. Once installing you'd probably prefer downloading GeForce Experience, which will notify you when there's an available drivers update.
  • For Intel, you probably want to press "Get Started" under the "Automatically update your drivers and software", which will simplify the process and update everything automatically
  • For AMD you probably want to just press "Download Windows Drivers", which will download something called AMD Adrenaline, which will update your drivers automatically.

3. Run the installation, restart your computer, and try playing MC again

  • At this point, hopefully your Minecraft is running. If it still does not work, please post any new logs and staff will help assist you with finding the right solution.

Moon For Mac devices using Apple Silicon/arm (M1/M2/etc.) CPUs

There is an issue with Java 17.0.8 and newer where you may experience "A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment", which can cause the Java runtime to crash under a variety of circumstances. To resolve this:
Mac:

  1. Go here and hover over the Download buttons until you see one with the option to install a .dmg file. If you have an M-series Mac, then make sure to install the ARM64 version of this file.
  2. Run the !alternates command in #bots and follow the directions. If you already have ATL installed, move on to step 3.
  3. Click "Settings" on the right
  4. Click "Java/Minecraft" at the top
  5. Set "Use Java Provided by Minecraft" to false by unchecking the checkbox
  6. Manually specify the following Java path in the text box to the left to the "Reset" button: /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/zulu-21.jdk/Contents/Home

To share your world using our own world hosting, click the 'Open to Lan' or 'Share World' button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.

It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!

We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.

There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.

Does the game nomrally take forever to load chuncks on a server? If you travel in a directions enough it will eventually not be loaded and it take a good while to load chunks. Is there a setting that needs to be changed somewhere? My resources are not getting throttled

Please follow the guide here for changing the Java version your server uses. This will improve performance dramatically. If you are on a third party server host, you likely can not change the Java version your server uses. Bisect Hosting and a few VPS providers do allow changing Java version, though, which can usually be done through your server dashboard.

The method on Bisect is to simply go to the main dashboard page, and select "GraalVM 22" as the Java distribution. If it crashes, use 21 instead.

For further performance improvements, you can also follow this guide.

Reducing server render distance in the server.properties file is also a very good way of reducing lag. Most of our modpacks include mods like Bobby and Farsight, which make it so reducing server render distance will not affect players.

If lag persists, run the following command ingame:
/spark profiler start --only-ticks-over 50

Certain modpacks might crash if used in Curseforge or ATLauncher. In those cases you should download and install PrismLauncher.

Installing modpack

Click "Add Instance", select "Curseforge", then filter the modpack you want to play. Select it and click on "OK".

Blocked mods

In some cases PrismLauncher is unable to download blocked mods. Click "Open Missing" to downloads then in a browser, into a folder listed under "Watched Folders" (or add a new location of your choosing). Once done - review if the list has all mods marked with green checkbox.

Installing Java

Before you launch the game click on your instance, click "Edit", go to Settings, Java, click on "Download Java". Select Azul Zulu, Java 21, 21.0.7. Once installed, click on "Auto-detect..." and select the Azul one you just downloaded. Make sure to also check "Skip Java compatibility checks".

Moving existing world from Curseforge app

To transfer your Curseforge world to PrismLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Folder" on PrismLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.

Voice chat mod is disabled by default on Bisect servers due to it causing a crash if you're not using a dedicated IP (this is majority of budget servers). Generally all that needs doing to re-enable it is removing the .d from the end of the voice chat mod file (Assuming you have a Dedicated IP + UDP is enabled on the panel).

Fix for ticking entity or ticking blocks crashes

Navigate to your instance folder:

  • Curseforge -> Right click the modpack instance -> „Open Folder”.
  • ATLauncher -> Click „Open Folder” on the modpack instance.
  • MultiMC -> Select your instance and click „Instance Folder” on the right.
  • PrismLauncher -> Select your instance and click „Folder” on the right.
  • For servers -> Open the folder containing your server files.

Inside that location, if you’re single player you can find your world folder inside „saves” (for example „saves/New World”), if it’s a dedicated server - just look for folder named „world”.

  • Forge -> Look for the „serverconfig” folder. Inside you need to edit the „forge-server.toml” file.
  • NeoForge -> Look for the „config” folder. Inside you need to edit the „neoforge-server.toml” file.

Fix

In that file, change the value for both „removeErroringEntities” and „removeErroringTileEntities” from „false” to „true”, and save the file, then start your game.

Once fixed - remember to undo those values back to „false”.

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.

To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

You (likely) need to update your graphics drivers in order to resolve the crash. Here's how to go about doing that!

1. Identify your graphics card

Moon For Mac devices using Apple Silicon/arm (M1/M2/etc.) CPUs that don't work with ATLauncher

Certain modpacks might crash if used in Curseforge or ATLauncher. In those cases you should download and install PrismLauncher.

Installing modpack

Click "Add Instance", select "Curseforge", then filter the modpack you want to play. Select it and click on "OK".

Blocked mods

In some cases PrismLauncher is unable to download blocked mods. Click "Open Missing" to downloads then in a browser, into a folder listed under "Watched Folders" (or add a new location of your choosing). Once done - review if the list has all mods marked with green checkbox.

Installing Java

Before you launch the game click on your instance, click "Edit", go to Settings, Java, click on "Download Java". Select Azul Zulu, Java 21, 21.0.7. Once installed, click on "Auto-detect..." and select the Azul one you just downloaded. Make sure to also check "Skip Java compatibility checks".

Moving existing world from Curseforge app

To transfer your Curseforge world to PrismLauncher, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Folder" on PrismLauncher and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.

  5. Taking damage/dying from mobs doesn't cause crashes, not dying to fall damage prevents the crash. There is no consistent crash, only when I die to fall damage.
  6. Dying to fall damage causes the entire modpack to crash and I'm unable to enter the world again without remaking it entirely.

The Essential mod is completely incompatible with all of our modpacks, and there's no reason to use it. All of our modpacks already come with built-in, free world hosting, by clicking the "Share World' button in the Open to LAN menu. You can learn more by typing !ws in the ⁠#bots channel. You can also run type !server in the same channel to learn how to properly host a server for better performance and more flexibility. In modpacks that aren't owned by us, you can use mods such as e4mc or WorldHost to host a server completely for free without Essential's many issues and crashes and the microtransactions that they constantly bother users with. To learn more about alternatives to the Essential mod, check out this website.

Before anything else screenshot how much disk space each of your drives have and post it as it might be caused by low disk space.

From the Windows search button search up "Advanced System Settings" and open the first result.

To host a server on your own computer, read the selfhosting guide.

Transferring Your World

If you're playing Singleplayer and want to transfer your world to your server, simply go to your modpack files and navigate to the saves folder. Inside of this folder, you will see your world saves. If your world was hosted via world sharing, this process has to be done by the person who would click "Share World".

Fixing Lag

To resolve lag issues, simply run the !tps command in #bots and follow the directions provided.

It is highly advised to not use Optifine, as it is very glitchy, will increase loading times to upwards of 10 minutes, and will decrease your FPS substantially. All Luna Pixel Studios modpacks come with shader support without Optifine via Oculus on Forge and Iris on Fabric. Optifine is also incompatible with all of our modpacks. The game will not launch with Optifine installed.

Hey there~ I'm having issues with the Immersive Engineering mod. It suddenly stopped transferring energy at any of my machines out of nowhere. I double checked every connection and it seems like the connectors aren't receiving any energy from the cables (the red bar on top remains at 0 for connectors on the input side of stuff, when I place it on the output of an accumulator it seems to receive energy just fine)

If you are unable to find the serverpack on Curseforge, it is most likely not approved by Curseforge yet. If you want to create your own Server Pack follow the steps below;

How to create a Server Pack:

  1. Download ServerPackCreator and run it.
  2. Set the Modpack Directory to where you installed the modpack.
  3. Set the Minecraft Version, Modloader and Modloader Version of the Modpack.
  4. Press Generate.

How to use the Server Pack:

  1. Right click the start.ps1 file and click Run with Powershell.
  2. To join your own server, type localhost into Direct Connect.

    The server IP address is your Public IP Address, which can be found by googling "my ip address".

im playing the modpack fear nightfall (version 17.5) and I'm having trouble using the traveler's backpack mod (version 8.2.41).
I'm trying to fill a bucket with lava from the tank or place lava on the ground using the backpack, but nothing seems to work.
I also tried using the hose tool, but the “swap Tool / change Hose Mode” key doesn't do anything, even after rebinding it.
Does anyone know how to fix this or what I'm missing?

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.

If you mean for the Corrupted armor set from Deep Dark Regrowth, it drops from the Observer / Abomination, shich spawn in the rotten caverns biome

Places to find them have changed a bit since the last updates, but I've had the most luck in (any) forests with those small oak structures dedicated to Beny and Jason. The Jason one has a flat roof and the bendy one is more cube-shaped, and both contain 3 or 4 barrels which have a good chance of containing tarot cards

Those semi trucks that say "Umbrella" on them (you can find them in the plains biome) also have barrels that can have cards in them

Just a heads up, Bendy might crash your game if he's close by... not sure why but it happened to me, but most of the time I find his structure during the day and he's not in it

Yes, the box of horrors structures in the overworld are currently the best spots for them
Theres also the overworld catacomb dungeons but those are anoying to navigate
Vanilla dungeons can also have tarot, or strongholds / pyramids

In the nether theres warped / crimson towers that are safer to loot than most other nether dungeons and i can often get 1 or 2 per tower

Same goes for all the potion ingredients - you don't even need blaze rods to make potions, the hexerei cauldron works
Or if you think you needed potions for the cradle, you can actually use gold apples

It drops from a bunch of different born in chaos monsters. Falen chaos knights drop it the most often iirc
Can also be found in that mods dungeons, the Dark Tower being the best
It generates as ore too, with some pieces being found in the dark tower, under dark wells, and extremely rarely underground in dark argilite deposits

Theres a few easy ways to defend yourself early.
Tower up and break a few blocks beneath you ( id did this till i found a place i wanted to settle)
If you find bamboo, you can plant it in a wall to make something most mobs won't pass
Ocean / sky bases are easy to defend

Voice chat mod is disabled by default on Bisect servers due to it causing a crash if you're not using a dedicated IP (this is majority of budget servers). Generally all that needs doing to re-enable it is removing the .d from the end of the voice chat mod file (Assuming you have a Dedicated IP + UDP is enabled on the panel).

If this command was run in response to your question/issue, it is likely because switching away from the launcher you are currently using would fix your problem.
From our experience, the most stable launcher by far is ATLauncher, also known as ATL. Keep in mind that ATL is NOT related to TLauncher in any way, and is not a cracked launcher.

To install ATL, do the following:
1. Go to https://atlauncher.com/download. If you are on MacOS, then choose the "Jar" version under the "Other" tab.
2. Install and run the setup, then open the program.
3. Login to your Microsoft account that owns the Java Edition of Minecraft from the Accounts tab on the right. This process is 100% safe, as it goes directly through Microsoft. ATL doesn't see your account credentials.
4. Go to the Packs tab on the right, then click "Curseforge" on the left.
5. Search the modpack you wish to download.
6. Click "Install". Then, follow the on-screen directions.
7. Go to the Instances tab, and click "Play" on the modpack you downloaded. If you ever see an "Update" button on the instance, click it.

To transfer your Curseforge world to ATL, simply right click the modpack on Curseforge, or click the 3 dots, then click "Open Folder". Copy the Saves folder, then click "Open Folder" on ATL and paste the Saves folder there. Do the same with the XaerosMinimap folder, or the Journeymap folder, to transfer over any waypoints you've created.
Because ATL downloads the exact same files as Curseforge does, your world will be the exact same and you will be able to join the same servers. ATL also works without an internet connection (after you've installed the modpack, of course), and does not have any bloat from Overwolf. You are free to uninstall both Overwolf and Curseforge with ATL installed.

Luna Pixel's World Sharing

Our modpacks don't support any mods that add singleplayer hosting / world sharing because we already provide free world sharing. The 'Essential' mod is therefore incompatible.

To share your world using our own world hosting, click the 'Open to Lan' or 'Share World' button in the game menu when in a singleplayer world, and share the world.

It will give you an address, like magma-cube.mc.lunapixel.gg, which your friends can use to connect directly to your world as if it were a server!

We still highly suggest not to play through LAN as LAN is untested and unreliable. Using it will cause longterm damage to your world.

There is no reason to use LAN, as we support both paid and free methods of hosting a server the normal way.

You'll need to craft a map atlas and have it in inventory to use a minimap, and fuel it with paper

Personally, after having issues with it i just aded journeymap instead

the rules does not state that i cannot ping, just states if absolutely necessary, all i did was ask a question, then i pinged an active member who is involved in fear nighfall so they can read said message at their time,

you came at me rude when i was fairly respectful asking a simple question and just decided to oust me when i did not officially break any rules per your rulebook, then was rudely answered by a separate member of the community on said topic, i think my actions are fairly justified in this situation, especially when i just wanted to seek the aid of those in this community about their own mod.
