crew count must not be greater than the amount of stuff that you are crafting - if you have more crew than ammount of stuff it does not speed up the craft

And the cap is the following - If for example you want to craft 100 fuel for you can use max 100 crew. It will allow you to use 200 crew for 100 fuel crafting process but it will not speed up the process

For example: I can craft Power Source, Electronics and Framework which is required for tier upgrade! Not ELECTROMAGNETS

Which i find disturbing at this stage coz I dont have 40 million FOOD lying around or available to start a 12 hour crafting journey on the CSS!

I think many people are going to receive a rude awakening in starbased, when they can't craft anything coz there is no FOOD as an entry to the CSS !

Yes the level of planning required is intricate, and many will misunderstand how important is to plan when and where to craft. Moving all your resources to the wrong place can be very bad. Do this only in small amounts, and only for the right materials.

It's very unfortunate that the team doesn't think a game like this requires a manual or guide.
It's very bad in my opinion. Though you can find some unofficial guides, and please go look for those.
The issue is that players realize they need a manual only after being stuck. If we had a big button reading "game manual" in the game UI it would be much better.

Crafting is good money ROI-wise. but with small ships one need to ship back and forth to much to make sense to me the m3 and all failed transactions/refreshes makes it more annoying than sdu mining . so ROI/time invested is very low with no proper cargo ships

So in short =). if you have more time than me

1. buy low price stuff in CSS
2. ship to ONI-4
3. Craft to higher lvl stuff
4. ship back to CSS
5. sell on market.

Hey all! I am new here but getting more excited about Star Atlas as I learn more. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think the first lesson for success here must be developing patience. Not only does the game appear to be down right now, I am struggling with the failed transactions. Is my experience normal or am I missing something?

Patience is a key - after all we are still in early testing phase of the game. Also the current ongoing issues with Solana network congestions are not helping. Both Star Atlas devs and Solana devs are working to improve that.

I can confirm that after the release of Starbased ( about 10 days ago ) the game was running very smoothly for me compared to the old version and I can confirm that the Star Atlas devs made huge improvements on the stability of the service and the performance. However today is a key day as some major updates are ongoing so I won't be surprised if we experience some downtimes until team finishes with the deployments.

P.S. - although there appear to be some issues with Starcomm right now and the game interface is not working the third party tools I configured for automation appear to be doing their job fine. So you can say that there are some additional setup that you can do to make the game work better for you.

Can anyone answer my question? How does scanning work? If you fail a scan, are you supposed to keep trying on the same sector or move to a new one?
I am confused and there are no guides at all on how to play the game

Each sector has an information density expressed as a %

Information density is how many SDUs are available to be scanned. The percentage now is a measure of SDU information Density. 1% = 10 SDUs.
100% = 1000 SDUs, hence the theoretical limit of 1000 SDUs/scan currently

Information density varies through time in a given sector

scanning was completely reworked a few days ago, we are still trying to figure stuff out so no guides yet

in additional to what Duncan said there is also regeneration for each sector - so when you hit you will need to wait till density becomes better again.
So if you find a sector with good density - stay there and scan. If you hit wait a bit ( maybe 5 min ) then try again to see the new density.

"By acquiring land plots at this event, you will be entitled to be part of a VIP priority-access listing on the sale of commercial land at the station in the future. This will be restricted, of course, to commercial land of the same tier as the one you acquire in the coming sale." This part is quite important even if it leaves many questions unanswered about CSS lands.
