If ATLAS goes on a crazy run against the USD, then the price of ATLAS will not drop, it will rise. I can not make head nor tail of this sentence.

sp by `soft pegged´you really are not saying much. I think it is better to buy in USDC when ATLAS low and in ATLAS when high. That makes the most sense to me. That word salad explaining is going to need an upgrade buddy!

I mean...with respect...just rubbing ya. Would be nice to get some hard facts around this though. I have invested about 600usd into small craft for fun, but I can not justify a bigger craft unless I know the mint limits and tokenomics on this stuff

Soft pegged meaning atlas to usd should be relatively stable. if atlas jumps 20% than the prices in atlas should drop 20% to stay stable in USD.

Soft pegged is the term because the atlas adjustments aren’t done automatically they are done manually

They want to hard peg the two assets but that requires automation

I am eying up some bigger ones, but with no idea about tokenomics and whether the first generation ship NFTs will be subject to more editions of the same, it is hard to justify a bigger outlay. I would need to know how many of a given ship will be minted or if there is some sort of ´ìnflationary´ supply in line with market cap, number of users or other factor

After you buy a ship, you need resources as well to send them out, they are fairly cheap, after the initial purchase you have to check the resources once a day to keep the ship flying, but with two small ships out, you're already making some Atlas a day (not much, but at least you actually gain some)

Hey guys, new to star atlas and just bought a ship. I've been encountering quite heavy Sol charges on my transactions when buying anything (resources etc) looking at 0.026 every transaction. My friend doesnt incur any sol charges, only the atlas he is spending. If i keep paying these charges, it eliminated the profit I make on faction fleet. Anybody else encounter this? Anything I'm doing wrong? TIA

i think the first time fee is like .02 sol. something like that. if you keep like .10 in there itll give you enough for a couple transactions. you can aslo reclaim the gas fees on sonar watch afterwards

Ships are the only asset available right now with utility. Staking your fleet earns rewards in Atlas that can be used to buy more ships or convert to other currency. Many are also speculating on Polis, the other SA token. No utility for that atm, but staking opportunities may start in Feb.
