i think sage and assets wont change right now till we get c4, if you have suggestions for that try play around in the https://ses.staratlas.com/SAGE Editor Suite/index.html
when we move to zink also the biggest setback for smaller players will get eliminated or at least reduced by a lot, the txn costs

depends on what you want, if your looking to make sure you have all the body types for ue5 progression then its all or focus on the factions that have the types you need, if your looking for role play then its what you need for role play
if its for looks then your likely better off trading for something that has the rarity / look you want

Yup venture capitalists threw a bunch of money at devs back in 2021. Most did not have sound business plans and just thought they could ride on that and the sound business plan of crypto go up. SC has built their own game engine which has definitely made things harder, longer and more expensive.
SA using UE5 is a major time saver.
The other key variable is: AI.
AI will increase speed of development 10X and cut the cost of building the grand vision massively.

I leaning more into zink and c4 and hold out on ue5 for now. ATMA will greatly benefit by selling assets ships/crew/claim stakes etc. And I think only way to do that is rolling out zink, allowing small players to profit from game loops. And hopefully start seeing ships fly out the primary market

I also think this sentence also sums up quite a lot. I think the focus on profit and prices is an issue. Moat people wants to play games to have fun. If gameplay isnt very fun, you wont get alot of players which in turn means less profit which means less degens playing and spiraling even further down

If C4 is holosim on steroids, we Gucci. They just need to make sure to iron out all the bugs. I am of the opinion that at this stage they need to take care of the player base they have, instead of trying to bring in more users, and doing that from an Indie studio type capacity is just fine with me. Bloat doesn't necessarily mean more gets done.
I would also argue the primary driver for decreasing DAU in SAGE is the increased tx fees, not because SAGE is complex. Zink should resolve that.

Then making HOLO SIN as a "game," in my view, is another self-inflicted wound... If this C4 is as poorly made and messy as HOLOSIN... it will certainly be the end... the active player base is minimal... many, like me, have active accounts and don't even want to see HOLOSIN... I hope they do something interesting that attracts people back.

I personally think INK and XP should be calculated based on completion time, with maybe small multiplier for placement, this would motivate people to race, even if they are not winning, to try and improve their personal best completion time.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge this update with both honesty and respect.
First and foremost, my support goes to Dominic, Jose, and Santi—and just as importantly, to every team member impacted here, including those not named publicly. The visible faces of Star Atlas mattered deeply to the community, but so did the countless contributors behind the scenes whose work, dedication, and belief helped carry this project forward.
To Dominic, Jose, and Santi: you weren’t just representatives—you were conduits of energy, clarity, and excitement. The tone you set, the consistency you showed, and the care you gave the community left a real mark. That doesn’t disappear because of a restructuring.
I also want to say plainly:
This is not a personal failure, nor a lack of belief in the vision. Market conditions are real. Runway is real. These decisions are painful precisely because they’re made to protect the long-term survival of what’s being built. Holding compassion and empathy for people while accepting economic reality is not contradiction—it’s maturity.
On a personal note, Santi, while we haven’t spoken recently, that doesn’t erase the respect or the connection. Keep that "RED BOW TIE"! I wish you nothing but strength and success in what you’re building next.
Star Atlas has always been a long road. Today is heavy, as I read this, I came to tears. That doesn’t negate the work, the friendships, or the meaning created along the way. I get this, and it is not wrong to feel this way, it is human. And that matters more than any other part of that feeling.
When we have lived with a norm for several years, and been committed to it for maybe more than a half of decade and it changes it feels less like a decision and more like a fracture, rupture, even loss. Moments like this affect real people, and have waves of consequences, especially when it hits the face and the voice of this project, That is a very strong and hard loss that is relational, not abstract.
To me what has been broken is the familiar sense of continuity, but we have to be careful to make sure it does not break our belief and commitment in Star atlas and the dream of what it represents. Pretending it doesn't hurt doesn't help or make us stronger, it just quiets the atmosphere. Thank you for expressing that pain. That is mature and strength.
I am trying to hold the two truths together at the same time. They neither contradict each other nor cancel each other out:
1: Something very meaningful was lost, and that hurts. It brought me to tears.
2: The project is still alive, still fighting for its right to live and exist even in a market where SOL Dropped nearly $50.00 in 14 days.
Moving through this as a community will require that we do not deny the break, but by acknowledging the break honoring the people who it affects and those responsible for bringing Star Atlas, Galia, UE5, z.ink and so many more components through this tough time and deciding together what kind of ecosystem we want going forward; what we truly want to build and for it to become.

Yeah, let's talk POLIS. My tiny, sad little sprinkle of POLIS sitting in the wallet like a participation trophy from a project that couldn't even spell "value accrual" if you spotted them the vowels.
POLIS could have been a beautiful hedge against Solana's insane volatility. Hear me out, you numbskulls who run this circus.
The setup was right there on paper: ATLAS is the inflationary in-game toilet paper—endless emissions for rewards, transactions, buying ships, whatever—meant to get spent and diluted as the "economy" grows (lol, what economy?). POLIS? Fixed supply at 360 million, no minting new ones unless the DAO begs for it, governance power via staking/locking (longer lock = more voting weight, more control over the treasury), and crucially: staked POLIS earners a share of ATLAS revenues from the game, plus some buyback/burn mechanics from fees to make it deflationary over time.
That's textbook hedge material. When SOL dumps 30% and drags every shitcoin on its chain into the abyss—including ATLAS, because it's tied to in-game activity that tanks in bear markets—POLIS should decouple somewhat. Why? Because it's not just another Solana meme; it's positioned as the "ownership" layer. Governance over the treasury, influence on ATLAS minting/distribution/redistribution, passive income from actual game revenues (if they ever materialize), and a capped supply that could benefit from burns and long-term conviction staking. In theory, during SOL crashes, normies panic-sell ATLAS for fiat or stables, but POLIS holders lock harder for control and yields, creating buy pressure or at least less sell pressure. It captures long-term ecosystem value while ATLAS bleeds from usage/inflation.
If these incompetent fuckwits had executed even half-decently:
Actually launched a playable game that generates real ATLAS revenue instead of perpetual "coming soon" vaporware
Directed meaningful treasury ATLAS flows to POLIS stakers/buybacks
Built actual demand for governance (not just dead DAO proposals nobody cares about)
Avoided turning the whole thing into a layoff parade and unpaid intern simulator
...then POLIS could have acted like a relative safe haven. SOL crashes? Game still chugs (in theory), ATLAS gets printed/spent, but POLIS captures a slice without the same inflationary hammer. It hedges the chain's volatility by being the "store of value" play in a dual-token setup—ATLAS for velocity, POLIS for scarcity and control. Classic Axie vibes (AXS held up way better than SLP during dumps), but on Solana.
Instead? These brain-dead clowns couldn't monetize a lemonade stand in a heatwave. No real revenue. No game that prints meaningful ATLAS to share. Governance is a ghost town. POLIS just bleeds alongside everything else because the "ecosystem" is a corpse on life support. My little bag? It's correlated to shit because they failed to deliver the decoupling mechanisms they hyped.
So yeah, POLIS had the bones to be a hedge—if the team weren't a collection of visionless morons who treat "long-term" like an excuse for zero progress.
But they are. So it isn't.

the maps and characters are more related to the UE5 game you can download via the Epic gamestore where there are various game modes like FPS and racing. They do have different maps you can use and also characters you can level up.
There is also the current browser-based game, SAGE, where there's the real-live economy where mining, crafting, scanning, transport, etc. is happening.
Holosim, is the free-to-play version of SAGE so you can check it out while not requiring any purchased game asset

the intent of course is to onboard players so player friendly should be a given. As for the game assets you are referring to, most of those ships are available in the secondary market and are at a discount from when they were originally bought

yeah you need a solana wallet so you can trade in the marketplace but if you only just want to check the ships, you can just click close in the wallet front and go to the marketplace

I highly suggest trying holosim first, the free-to-play version of SAGE so you can gain awareness on how the game works .. it can be very overwheling at first but holosim provides a guided tutorial

Cheapest ships are below $1 actually, even the biggest ones are now selling around 5k to 7k USD. There are all kinds of prices in between and actually some great deals to be had on medium/large ships in the current market.
Check out the different ship sizes on marketplace (Starts at XXS all the way up to Commander)
