It's not just to do with the priority fee. I have massively increased the fee and still most transactions in SAGE do not go through. But when I interact with other protocols I have no problems. It is to a large extent a SA/SAGE problem and a fix in a few weeks is absolutely too late.

If you are using phantom there a good chance your TX went through but it hasn't refreshed yet.

So I would advise just refreshing+reset cache a bunch.

You can also open f12 dev console. Change logging to verbose and look there. If you get a red BlockHeightExceeded error then try again.

If no error then it probably went through and UI hasn't refreshed.

Upkeep is Toolkits and Food, upgrading has SDUs in it. What I am saying is:

1. Upkeep is constant burn for operation - it does not cost toolkits
2. Upgrading Starbase tiers is capped ( you cannot upgrade forever ) until combat is introduced that can destroy/degrade starbases

But not until combat is introduced, right? And we are currently discussing Starbased initial release where there will be no combat. And yeah, this is the correct info according to the game manuals but we are not there yet.

I know Starbased is not out yet, but my biggest concern is that we will be able to upgrade Starbases in peaceful times. What comes after we move on to a new game ID for combat ( if I understand correctly that is the plan )

1. Option one - keeping all the upgraded starbases and giving a line of defense to all factions depending on their contribution during the early phase of Starbased
2. Option two - starting anew and making it a race to who will ever conquer the enemy faction crystal starbases first.

Both options do not seem ideal to me in terms of gameplay. My actual take will be introducing some restriction in both this version and the one with the combat. For example:

1. You cannot start construction starbases in layer 1 of MRZ ( inner circle closes to CSS ) unless you have upgraded all bases in NRZ to tier 1 or 2. Same is for outer layer of MRZ (HRZ) - you need to gradually build your inner starnases before you can move on to the ones that are further away. Rushing directly to upgrade the faction crystals does not make sence in terms of lore and could make for a unjustified gameplay caused by lacking of restricting mechanics.

2. Do this in both Starbased initial release and in the next release with the combat. However start the combat release with non upgraded starbases so combat could be tested gradually as the inner bases are upgraded and combat is done parallel to trying to build the supply chain.

At least this is what I am thinking, maybe team has something else in mind but I do believe it is very important to do this gradually.

You are right, SB destruction will only be available once combat is released which will be in UE5 and not in web. I prefer option 1 in this because it wont put our efforts to waste when transitioning to combat. As for the Defense strategy of SB during combat phase, that remains in the grey area for me and a bit far in the future. dont want to speculate too much as the current SB release already will keep us busy

There are solutions that are available now that work for the majority of cases. Using phantom, which adds priority fees in, is one of those solutions. Using the sly bot is another one

Atlas prime + bulking many transaction that occur at the same time in one is the way to go. I believe that can be achieved after some research - not an easy task, but doable. That way the more players use Atlas the better utilization of tx will be and the cost of actions in game will be less. I am also in favor of using Atlas prime for cost calculation in game - I believe it is a nice feature that needs a bit more work to start taking over.

If they bulk many tx on the same tick in one tx that will globally reduce the cost that the team is spending on maintaining the Atlas prime feature - thus will create the opportunity to have a lower premium cost. Most important to me is if it is stable and it is possible to turn it off for the token creation ( only use it for tx )

the issue with bulking transactions is that creates more delay, thats not a long term solution - bulking for ue5 would work because it would need to keep whats needed for session activity in escrow and then settle the results end of session, but for sage it needs to all be real time for the user

also bulking transactions makes them heavier meaning higher fees are needed to push through so its not exactly a solution

I think you can bulk a small amount ( something like 4 to 6 tx in 1 ) without exceeding the initial data limit. MVP to me looks like that:

1. Atlas prime uses a per player queue that is programed to execute on every Solana tick
2. If you do an action like bulk exit warp, bulk refuel, bulk dock or you have a lot of scanning happening at the same time you have a chance that the tx will be bulked
3. If you do only one action at a time the tx will be executed on the tick without bulking anything

Optimizing the backend to use rust could potentially reduce the computation cost needed to execute these transaction allowing for more to be bulked in one at a reasonable cost.

Of course this is still a theory that I am working on, not sure if I understand the whole process of the bulking yet, but as far as the delay does not exceed the time required for the Solana tick to execute this could be a valid option.

Also I don't know how the game will be real time if the transactions will fail to execute and you will have to retry and refresh constantly to get the game to work. Even the community scripts have some build in retry mechanism for the tx not passing trough. What happens when Solana goes to 180 USD next month or so? What happens if it goes to 500 USD in near future. I am starting to wonder how the costs of tx will affect SAGE in the long run and once again I am putting to the question the need for a Real time strategy instead of a tick based one ( which is super close to real time, but allows for some delays and optimizations of costs in the backend )

the catch is priority fees are not exactly about the set data limit, the heavier the transaction the more it will cost to push through and the more likely it gets rejected - note this is not as bad as eth as there are a lot of other ways around it and priority fees are mostly a stopgap while sol gets better at handling heavy activity periods

so yes it would on average cost less for the user it would create a lot more potential points of falure not to mention delays, and 4-6 transactions are rather small regardless

Being able to bulk 4 tx in 1 from Atlas Prime side means 4 times less cost for team to execute such transaction resulting in - more profit for them if they chose to implement it.

If it is possible to implement it in such way that it could consistently group and execute 4 tx at the cost of 1 the team can afford to ( not sure yet if transactions from different players can be bulked in one ):

a) Reduce the cost of using Atlas prime, thus attracting more players to start using it resulting in generating more revenue for the team

AND/OR

b) Push the bulked transaction with priority fee and implement an error handling and auto retry mechanic ( similar to how transactions are executed in some of the community scripts ) to make sure that these transactions go trough

I need to do more testing from my side in order to know exactly what kind of delays are expected with implementing such a feature because I currently lack the data.
