Nothing is an auto admit for MIT, but a presitigious award will definitely help show dedication! On their CDS (common data sheet that has all their admissions info), it actually says they consider personality/character the most out of all of somebody's stats, so just be yourself :D

The first types of proofs that everyone learns are basic algebra proofs

Like for example prove sqrt(2) is irrational.

Including the different types
Contradiction
Contrapostive
Weak Induction
Strong induction

And all of them are introduced as proofs in algebra.

I didnā€™t disagree with any of that(at least most of it). Proofs just being logical reasoning is self-evident, obviously it is true, but the techniques I mentioned do have significance.

I was talking about why these techniques that I speak of are significant and arenā€™t just things that simplify though. Each technique is based on a established rule

Direct: Modus Ponens
Contrapositive: Modus Tollens
Contradictory: RAA

And just as the rules are significant so are the techniques. They arenā€™t just ā€œthought shortcuts.ā€ Thatā€™s all I was saying
