Hey hey hey, no worries for the ping!
I can confirm I'm on track to graduate early by an entire year (May 2026; I should update that on my nickname haha) even after starting in CGS. I'm a Data Science major and most likely will also finish a math minor for context.

I started at BU with 20 AP credits (so credit for 5 APs) + 4 transfer credits (I took 1 course during gap semester from community college), so ~24 external credits. My first semester (Spring 2024) was 18 credits (14 for 3 CGS courses, 4 for 1 class towards my major). My second semester (summer 1 - London) was 14 credits (all CGS required). After that, I took 2 courses (8 credits) towards my major during summer II in Boston.

Returned for Fall 2024 and overloaded by taking 20 credits - (2 CGS courses + 3 courses for major). Doing the same now in Spring 2025 by overloading on 20 credits (2 CGS + 3 major courses). I just have 8 courses left for my major, so I can complete them over the next two semesters without overloading (4 and 4).

However, since I'm planning to complete the math minor and I'm anyways staying in Boston for research this summer, I'll be taking 2-3 courses in the summer again. I'm planning to overload again during fall just because I want to take some more classes of interest, but that's a different story altogether.

Yep, overloading (generally, as long as you have a 3.5 GPA or above, you'll be allowed to overload without paying for the 5th class. You can overload up to 20 units, but you won't be allowed to overload during your first semester and London semester). + classes in the summer.

As far as quality of life goes, it kind of depends. You'll definitely spend a lot of time studying and the schedule can be quite packed; you'll probably lose out on some college experiences, but it's not all doom and gloom or anything

Also difficulty wise also can depend. I went to HS in the bay area and I actually feel like overloading at BU has been less stressful for me

I am taking EK 307 (Electric Circuits) right now. Not going to point out the professor's name, but the average wasn't nice for the midterms (48/110, 46.25/100). I know he's trying to keep it a B-/B average. My standing is 84% raw (93% after curve)

Ok tbh, it's for every classes you're going to take at BU. You need to give efforts, spend time outside of class, and actually know the concepts of the materials. It's gonna be hard but that's how it is lol. If you don't, you will fail
