it’s doable if you lock in rly hard, but i would say you can get straight Bs (for course 6 courses) and still do stuff outside of studying

It's not really deflation

Deflation is artificially lowering grades by raising grade cutoffs, maintaining a certain ratios between A's/B's/C's etc.

That's not allowed here; profs can only ever move grade cutoffs down (the recent 18.06 midterm having a 36% passing score be like 💀)

But it is true that a lot of classes are hard af lol

Hard classes =/= Grade deflation though

If you know and understand the content, you'll pass - it's just that the content is hard as hell 🗿

mit has like a 2% transfer acceptance rate and i think they accept like 20 applicants a year

the majority of those accepted are IMO medalists or otherwise in a very distinguished and small subset of some academic population

basically if you're gonna transfer to any top school you need to prove that you have A) a very compelling reason to transfer and B) guaranteed and substantial value to the school you want to transfer to
