Columbia is more forgiving
Cal has over 40k undergrads they don't care that much if you're suffering
the core sounds pretty hard
Yeah 💀
lol columbia is screwing over their students more rn
looks like a dumpster fire from the outside
for the first time in forever berkeley is not the school getting flamed by fox
columbia is taking all the heat rn
Isn't that insane
how bad is it
For students in SEAS I don't think it's that bad- just a few extra humanities requirements
But for columbia college I think it's a pain in the ass
Some people like it tho
i love the core
SEAS core is ass too
physics chem and calc UW/AOE 1st semester
Isn't it just like two or three required humanities courses?
no
you take University Writing your first or second semester
Then your third semester you take some non-technical elective which is generally like some history, religion class but there's a lot of genres
Is that it?
Why do you say it's ass?
It doesn't seem that bad to me tbh
Real
When is housing announced?
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think they said by July
any transfers hear back???
When is the date they release transfer admissions?
I dont think you will be notified before 1june
It says by June 1 and I have heard of some people who have heard back
#🔁-transfer-students is better for this tho
Any waitlist news yet
barnard accepted a few off waitlist but idk about columbia yet
how many ppl are approximately waitlisted
They have already come out
I know of a handful of people in my area who have gotten off
Word says around 2% of all applicants (~1000)
They released a batch 4 days ago or so
oh damn
is it by area?
dang
wait rlly i thought it was more
Yeah im not too sure about this one its just what ive seen ppl/other sources online say? But yeah im only sure they have started waitlist movement
from what I heard they havent but tbh im not so sure, i js know barnards is moving
No they have😭 one of my old best friends got in off the waitlist to columbia last friday
I know a few others from top boardings in the states (such as choate) get in as well
^off the waitlist last friday
ohhh shitt
omg congrats to them thats sick
from my understanding, the general # for ivies is:
5% accept
5% waitlist
90% rej
also if i didn't write a loci it's over right
Yeah u might wanna write the loci
too llate now anyways
thank you - im going to unfollow this thread then but good luck to you (+ others waiting for wl to open up)
any chance you could ask when they submitted their LOCI?
Submitted like the week after ivy day!
I submitted mine kinda late (April 22) because I had a state conference (got first) so i was waiting for those results
shoot
i might be cooked then
Nah its okay
They release it in waves anyway
And besides like
I don’t think sublitting ur loci like 2 weeks later hurts you bc columbia never said its first come first serve (and i dont think it is either)
yeah but it makes sense they would be reviewing apps in the order the locis came in
hopefully i have a shot its just stressful waiting not having a decision date lmao
carnegie mellon RD 2.0
does anyone know how to withdraw from columbia? i couldn't find it in the portal
Oh why 😔
did any of you got of the waitlist?
today is the first official day they can releas
Someone is claiming to have been accepted off wl on Reddit
Do you have the link?
