see i don't like seeing ppl who work hard get rejected but we have to look at it from a school's perspective sometimes lol. fit is one important factor tho it can be biased. and when u been in ao business for years, u have to be skilled enough to know if a application can get into another school. i'm sure stony brook will offer a overqualified student who has a financial issues. then you have other factors like dates, space, and geographics

like im sure i got accepted bc i wasn't over or under qualified. and is from kentucky where not a lot of ppl apply to stony and would actually attend

AOI is basically you being conditionally accepted for your major but you have to complete certain courses with a certain grade (I think it's a B not 100% sure) if you meet the criteria then u can declare your major after first yesr

in general Penn State provides a more friendly environment with parties and social activities not saying that SBU doesnt have a good amount of clubs and activities, but if you're a commuter at SBU campus will be kinda dead from Friday-Sunday. In terms of CS, SBU's program for CS is extremely competitive and offers higher level and harder courses while Penn State is also known for a very well suited CS program beyond ranking. Notably, Penn State offers Co-Op and Internship experiences (https://career.engr.psu.edu/students/intern-coop/courses.aspx) which is extremely helpful since you're ofc going to college to get a job. While SBU's closest thing to this is career/development programs (which you still have to apply & get in to) that give you a network of recruiters to can potentially get you interviews. As for Econ idk much about SBU for business aspect (i've only heard mediocre things)
