umd's my top choice atm but a couple thou a year out of reach

atm I've factored in the following things for our plan

Base cost is 59.3k/yr + 2.9k for 2 years bc of CS differential tuition
AId on my end: 27k student loans, 50k pres scholly
Contributions from me and my parents: 90k
(i've built a by semester fin plan but that'd be a lot to put here so i'm simplifying it into a 4 year lump sum for this scenario)

So of a $243102 net cost we're left with a $76102 excess, from there I've factored in the following:

Insurance at UMD is the same provider yet wildly cheaper, 2-3k/yr vs 7200/yr rn, that excludes dental/ortho insurance which is even cheaper compared to current costs atm, so 19466 of savings after 5 years(I say 5 because the savings aren't realized each year until a year after the policy is paid, at least theoretically)

Food costs for 32wks at umd matches my current costs for 32wks at school, so I'm counting it as an adjusted source rather than cost, leading to a deduction of 21664

AOTC tax credit, $2500 direct cut a year for $10k total

adding it all up it gives me another 51130 to put towards costs, with a slight up or down based on other outside costs.

that appied leaves me with $25k, which I'll blow up to $40k because well you don't know what can go wrong, that we have to borrow, which in theory is fine but my dad is past retirement age, hasn't been able to switch jobs after trying for years, and the current owner of his company A doesn't have a board, B is also old, C might see the company as a headache he doesn't need bc he's a near billionaire and just shut it down one day, or worse give ownership to X person I can't mention who would fire my dad (my dad currently has a close enough relationship w the owner for immunity but does not have it with the person and that person does not like him at all), so $40k can be borrowed but we don't have security which brings the issue to a head of where else can we cut.

is there anything else that's surefire that I can factor out? There's obviously jobs and internships I can take for extra funds but the issue with that is we can't guarantee the amount nor prospects of me finding work, so we don't want to rely on it.
