I am downloading the update via the disc, it seems you need to "own" Fallout 4 in order to get the PS5 upgrade. PS Plus isn't the same version as the owned version

Yeah - most likely the issue is being caused by the sheer weight of people downloading content right now. For a game that’s definitely getting on a bit, I’m actually pretty impressed in how well the servers have held up!

In Fallout 3/new vegas, I read console command cheats disable achievements but that you can simply turn them back on by saving and restarting the game. Does that mean I could cheat unlimited ammo, save, reload and then I'll have the ammo and achievements are still enabled?

Hello @night trout @rough swallow @sleek breach It appears that Fallout New Vegas is experiencing some issues specifically with AMD graphic cards, the game is crashing and not allowing players to start a new game. This problem seems only be effecting AMD users, as Nvidia players are not experiencing any of these issues. Please take this matter seriously and take action to resolve it, wether it requires collaboration with Obsidian or AMD. Something needs to be done, nobody should have to rollback their AMD driver update or install 20 mods just to be able get past the loading crash and play the game with only 5 frames per second. Please take responsibility and address this issue, Thank you.

I am unable to confirm the exact time and date when this issue began,i purchased the game yesterday without any prior knowledge, however when i tried to play i couldn't start a new game due to crashing and after conducting some research it appears that the problem may be related to the recent AMD driver update, i could be mistaken but I can provide you infos with a link from AMD's website that shows many AMD users myself included are experiencing this issue. You could explore a bit more and do some little side quests here and there to get a bit more looted up, New Vegas can be pretty unforgiving if you aren't rightfully equiped for certain missions. I'd say just go around the areas and see who you can help out or get stuff from

What I do is I paint every unique I can to match the faction I got it from

With 4, don't be afraid to play on the lowest difficulty, you're just starting out and it'll be fine.

Save often and make use of vats [l1 or lb]. You don't have to do settlement building, as it is optional.

Go ahead man, only real tip I'd give you is to go in blind and make decisions you would/your character would if you roleplay rather than ask people which choice should you pick, it'll make it a bit more personalized and get you used to that system which will be handy when you do delve into the older games which have more consequences for your actions

You will yeah, just try to use the button for VATS once you're out of the vault and have an enemy in front of you to get familiarized to it quickly, it isn't mandatory but helpful in a lot of situations

Pretty much at the start of the game! The vault-tec assisted targeteding system or vats for short. It slows down time and lets you highlight parts of an enemy to shoot.

You can use it while in the vault when you encounter your first enemy.

My main gripe is that I feel like the game wants a certain feel, and it beats you into submission with it. Nah. Weapons are dynamically generated in FO4 so you’d only see the base weapon as your armor. They fixed the system for Starfield.

For me Fallout 4 is better gameplay wise, but weaker than NV story-wise. I prefer Fallout 3 setting over NV one.

For me the "best" experience nowadays is Fallout 4 but only because its more fun gameplay-wise. The main story is much weaker than other Fallout games though (But the world and sidequests are nice)

Playing Fallout 4 (ps4 version) on ps5, it says I have to reset my dlcs data. This is awful because my whole armor set is dlc along with a few weapons and I’ve done all of far harbor, I mean all. I have a backup of my old save pre update.

Quick question for those who played the OG Fallout.

I delivered the water chip and later decided to talk to the water merchants to see if they got new dialogue.

Turns out they don't. But I got a new water shipment from the Hub for the EXP.

Now I get a message that the Vault 13 water supply is running low (I got like 80 days left) - despite already replacing the water chip.

Am I screwed? Or is there a way to "correct" this mistake (I don't have save files going back to before the water purchase).

I think, though I'm unsure, but I think you can also see it yourself when playing the game.

For example, I went back to Necropolis because I thought maybe the water chip reset (read my bug post). But there was a force of super mutants there that wasn't there before.

Depends on where you are. I could do it because I know the game like the back of my hand, for you it depends on where you are. You basically need to get to ||Mariposa and the Cathedral|| with minimal downtime. The game ignores the time limit if you beat the mutants.

In 76 how do u get rid of a 1 mutation and keep another?

You can't pick which but you can remove them. You have to use radaway without the Starched Genes Perk Card equipped.
It'll remove a mutation at random. So use Radaway until the mutation you want to lose is gone, then apply the ones you want.

Also, you could stand in a Decontamination Shower I think. Should work the same as radaway.

I disagree with that, nowhere near similar to 1 thru 4, it's a game lots of people have opinions on but the fact is that most of its lore is a little footnote to the broader one it added onto.
Not even that it's bad either

And it was designed that way on purpose, lots of people are turned off by a multiplayer fallout and don't feel like it's a good medium to tell a compelling story, plus the countless problems it's had since release-

And even then if you wanna get technical, Fallout 1 is a Footnote to the series as the timeskip between it and 2 is huge, and 2 and 3 less so which by that point forward the timeskips are not so big.

The Fallout TV Show is driving Fallout now. If it keeps the momentum through the next seasons I expect Microsoft will lend Fallout to another studio for a game that builds on what the show is doing.

For a new fan I'd recommend the show and then Fallout 4, it covers most of what Fallout has to say.

The other games have crashing issues or aren't available off the PC platform. That's a lot to expect from the average gamer, a current gen console player.

3 restores clean water to the Capital and sets up the Prydwen's construction.
New Vegas has NCR, House, the Legion. All content relevant to current developments.
I understand 76 isn't over yet but so far (5.5 years now) I'm not seeing much that'll matter later.

It’s more what we learn rather than what plays an important part in games set far in the future. I mean I never knew about Roger Maxson as a person until Fallout 76 which is a pretty huge addition to the lore besides the Zealotry of how future Brotherhood spoke of him. And also tells us what the Brotherhood was supposed to be when he founded it rather than what it became.

It definitely is in the case it’s so far back in time and Fallout doesn’t do long timeskips between titles anymore since Fallout NV which was only like 4 Years after 3 and FO4 which is 6 Years after NV, and the TV show which is 9 years after 4

Compared to other areas we've seen West Virginia is a paradise. A paradise nobody is talking about 150+ years later.

Your looking at it through the lens of “Why didn’t they bring it up before?” When really it can be said of any location in the US at this point, because it’s not relevant to bring up, and not at all until a game in those states take place, yes they will plan ahead of time, like the Institute in Fallout 3 and the Runaway Synth. But not everything is laid out.

It really doesn’t, because nothing states they succeeded in the long run, the believability factor is up to Bethesda to speak of regarding West Virginia in the next game. We helped the People in the Pitt in 76 but it didn’t matter, nothing stops the Slavers from ultimately winning and controlling the Pitt by the time of Fallout 3.

I stopped playing a survival run back in 2020 on PS4 because the crashes got really bad. In 20 hours i only had one crash now on Ps5. Ive played Fallout:NV multiple times over the years and have had little to no trouble with it, but after I switched to windows 11 it seems to have caused some major issues with my game. I finally decided to give 76 another shot and I am loving it. My only real gripes are upgrading your equipment, I really don’t like not being able to transfer my mods from my lvl 10 hunting rifle to my lvl 20. The other being leveling up lock picking/hacking not being reliable as I am now in lvl 22 and still only have 1 Perk card for hacking. Overall very minor gripes.

i would assume east coast because of the wide variety of states/territories to base the storyline on. maybe even midwest or the south.

West Coast has just as much territory as East Coast. The games don’t go by State. They go moreso by territory. With famous cities. Washington DC, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Boston, etc.

plus the whole fallout franchise is based litterally on the cold war. in this case its between china and united states and the soviet union we dont see much from them supposidly (yes it actually exists in the franchise) keep in mind the concept is based on cold war but with china and us
