Just my personal guess, but I think the arm jets are probably for stabilization, not for true movement. But if it is his squire, he wouldn't know how to use the proper jet pack, making it look more clunky

The power armor being a real life practical effect will have some trade offs. Watching that, my first thought was "yeah, i guess the hard drop like the games would probably break it." It would be super cool, but if the dukes of hazard taught us anything, you break a lot of props that way.

Well there is a terminal on the prydwen that talks about a group of BOS members in a contest to see who can make the biggest jump to the ground in T-60 and the current record is from the prydwen. One member attempted it from Trinity tower but failed because it destroyed his power armor in the process.

Ah, you are PC, heard there can be some complications, but it was made by the original owners of Fallout who made all the major factions, it has a great story and by far the best factions out of 3 and 4.

So up to you if you want to play it. 3 has more linear story telling and 4 is a mix of both, but not as great in my opinion faction and story wise

bit of an odd question, but im really curious if anyone has an answer for it
i bought the fallout SPECIAL anthology thing and it does come with a copy of each game, i do have them all but one issue with mine are that the fallout new vegas one is the german copy (due to me being in germany) and thus i cant mod it (i tried to brute force it but it didnt work)
would it theoretically be possible to fully remove the current german version i have on steam and then activate the code that comes for new vegas from the anthology thing, assuming its the regular version and not specifically the german one considering i am in germany

i was told the ultimate edition isnt censored but that seems to not be true, as i got it and its still the german version

what i did manage to somehow achieve though by trying to mod it into the english version as some of those conversion mods (or at the bare minimum translations) exist, i did get the game to be "mostly" english with some small stuff staying german, though it still remains unmoddable and a crashfest as i cant have NVAC
I quite frankly dont know how because i did it, it failed, i uninstalled it and it just appeared as english and since then i didnt touch it anymore just to not mess it up again

if that isnt possible, can i just request the non german version at steam support or would they ignore it/send some automated response that means nothing

Recently played FO1 and 2 and man, I miss a lot of that lore. It's probably sacrilege to go on too much about things I think Bethesda misconstrued after they took over, but there was just a lot of potential that I wish had continued on.

I'd rather not beat a dead horse or go into it too much, because many people have described it far better than me. I think uhh The Salt Factory on YouTube describes it the best for me. Where we both like the Bethesda era games, but there's stuff from Fallout 1 and 2 that we really miss and some tones and lore things that could have been continued but weren't.

I'd rather not. I like Salt Factory myself, dunno how he's been "wrong" either, that seems rather subjective.

Hello, I need help with my Fallout New Vegas, I simply cannot load any game or create a new one, when I do so the game crashes and no error message or anything appears, it just closes, I spent a whole day looking for solutions and I tried to verify the files on Steam, I checked the box for compatibility for Windows 7, I uninstalled and installed the game several times, deleted its files and reinstalled manually, I tried everything and nothing has worked for me, I contacted Bethesda support and the solution they gave me didn't help me either, I reinstalled all the drivers on my computer and everything remains exactly the same, I just want to play the game and I don't know what else to do, I would like some Bethesda support to read this and be able to help me thoroughly , or someone knows what my problem is and how I can solve it

brotherhood of steel deserves some credit and honor for taking down 2 of the most corrupt organizations enclave and institute. i dont know why people bash the brotherhood i think it was more of an respectable act saving the commonwealth and many other areas from invasions against bad actors. and yeah their lust for tech and hogging it all may be bad from your point of view but think of the trama factors as to why there doing it. it clearly states in fallout 4 that there doing it to prevent an event like the nuclear war.

Good to hear you have made some progress. To check fps, look in the FalloutPrefs.ini (use Edit > Find, at the top of .ini) to search for ifpsclamp and confirm it's set to 60 (ifpsclamp=60). Also, check Windows Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display > Choose a Refresh Rate, to match the .ini setting. I use Win 11, so your system may be different. Let us know how you are doing. If you can't get the fps above 30, well as long as the game runs well at that setting, go with it.

Brotherhood is fine everywhere else but it’s the Commonwealth that’s the problem. Although the Maxsonian Dynasty in California could only mean trouble.

People don’t like the Brotherhood not because factionally, they are bad people. You can have bad factions that are loveable like the Enclave. It’s more that they shouldn’t be appearing as much as they should.

We know that the Brotherhood has chapters in California, Montana, Texas, the Mojave, the Midwest, the Commonwealth, and Capital Wasteland.

That’s the problem, the Brotherhood are too everywhere.

You can’t play a Fallout game without seeing those brutes in shining armor which makes the world shallow. It becomes repetitive to recast the Brotherhood when they all look and act the same.

You can only have so many chapters until the Brotherhood just owns the US.

Fallout was never meant to just have a check mark list of Fallout tropes:
Brotherhood ✔️
Supermutants ✔️
Spawn in Vault ✔️
Deathclaws ✔️

And of course the existence of supermutants and deathclaws on the east coast are explained through the lore but it’s not the excuses that matter. It’s that it makes the world feel less interesting.

Dumb enemies aren’t bad. It’s just a missed opportunity to make a good story.

Even if you didn’t want to make a rehashed story of the supermutants. There are other topics that are worth telling. Fallout isn’t made because of those tropes, it’s made from its rpg, lore, and story.

The absence of a vault in 2 and New Vegas didn’t hinder the games, it gave them more unique starts. In 2, it allowed them to develop the story of 1. In New Vegas, it allowed them to give you a sense of freedom (and also fixed the problem of 3’s long start).

Actually I do like 3 and 4’s vault openings. They just need to make it snappier because if their job is trying to get you attached to your spouse or father, it doesn’t work.

I just looked at it and it was at "iFPSClamp=0", I changed it to 60 but the game still runs the same at like 20 FPS, I have Windows 11 too. I don't know if it could be some problem that the game for some reason is throttling and not using all my RAM or processor or graphics card, but I don't know how to look at that

Did you also check the settings in Windows 11? Also, have you updated the graphics card drivers? Did your graphics card drivers come with a utility where you can also control settings? What graphics card do you have? When you make changes in the .ini file you have to Save them or they won't take effect. Did you save them (the setting to fps)?

The refresh rate of my monitor is 60hz so I have 60hz in Windows 11, and as a graphics card I have an MSI RX 6750 XT with 2 fans, I save the changes in the .ini

I just tried the game in windowed mode and now it works perfectly for me, it is not in full screen at all but almost, I would still like to know why in full screen it does not run smoothly

The full screen video game just "works", I'm not sure if it goes at 20 FPS but it's like playing the first version of DOOM on a Nokia, normally I don't care that much about FPS but it's very annoying that it runs so slowly

It's called Fallout: Old Orleans. It's got a lot of heavy inspiration from things like point lookout in terms of tone and world space, a pretty big faction based on voodoo called the Pin Cushions, some really fun louisiana native animals with mutations, an entire settlement made out of the 20 something mile bridge called The Stretch and the French Quarter settlement called Viuex Carre. A few returning characters, a ton of random encounters, a few riffs on things like the Friendly Lending Company from the OG, all that kind of stuff!

The rolls are pretty similar to dnd in many ways, if you make a roll based on a skill It's a d20, with every 10 points in the skill giving a +1, and special stat rolls are d10s, with 5 being a flat roll and each point past it being a plus 1

Providing you understand the premise that people react to different narratives, therefore it’s the best based on people who respond to that type of narrative, some people respond better to FO3….some to FO4, some to FO76, and then we branch off in to other games, and their fictional standards……

3, NV and 4 are basically the same type of game, I’ve more hours logged in 3, hence its my favourite, I’ve a lot of hours in 4, but still not as many. 76 I have more hours in but its not the same type of game, it requires a grind, so you will put more hours in. However, it’s still nothing compared to the hours I put in to Counterstrike Source, I’d have two lots of 760 atoms by now in that game. And despite its ‘simplicity’ I find it mesmerising as a competitive arena. However, I have a large mount of hours in Half Life and Half Life 2, simple on the rails games, yet I ,ove them and have replayed them endlessly. It’s all about what you enjoy doing.

|| it's an emergency setting, not in a functioning setting in the fault. Yes, better existed in the vault im sure, but the stimpack made sense to me in the situation. something temporary while she investigated then eventually stapled her wounds when there wasnt a functioning medical bay ||
