You must tame Unicorn. When you leave him him goes to wizards

More of a mod author question, but do anyone have any tips for how to handle face-gen when merging mods? Some merges work with making the .nif change to the merged name and others I have to regenerate/edit by hand. As long as the faces are vanilla it's no problem regenerating, but when we're talking custom doing it through CK is a no go

ive just done this for a mod im currently testing, even though I had the previous facegen for two followers (custom ones I made in CK) ive got bundled, I still got pixel face, I had to re-generate them again for it to work, at the end of your mesh and textures folders they must be put into the mergedesp.esp folders

im testing the same mod on PS4 but I get pixel faces and have no idea how to fix it, obviously you cant use meshes or textures, does anyone know how to fix pixel face for custom made followers on PS4 ?
It messes up whatever edits you've made in example RaceMenu(?) if it deviates from the vanilla mold
Clarification: when merging sometimes the texture path don't change in the .nif. Many times it works, others it doesn't. So was just wondering if someone had any tips for how to "fix" that without having to go through CK
Why would the texture path change 🤔
Because the merged .esp has a different name and the face-gen needs to match the .esp in order for the game to load it
And sometimes the mesh doesn't edit the texture path automatically like it should

would help if could. But why you can't regenerate facegen that's not vanilla is cuz probably missing things that are included in the facegen. Hair/eyes etc.

not sure how much of simon's mods are there so they can be used with ur bundle. i like to think thats a great mod series they have available at least.

Always appreciated authors taking the time to make things for the PS4. Yeah sure you can’t create new assets but it’s impressive what people can do with the limitations.
It can be done but it has to be done in a very specific way. You are basically cloning a pre existing npc. You can’t create a new face but you can use an existing face.
I cloned an NPC to start with but changed the face to what I wanted my followers to look like, back then I wasn't bringing them over to PS, the default options is what I was looking for

do you know where all the blood barrels are in the main hall ive found the ones on the main table and a room to the right and another beside hakron seat also are the barrels used in any quests

In the Object Window, right-click the static object for blood barrels and click Use Info.

You found them all. In the Use Report, all instances of the Static types are listed under "Used in these Cells:" list.
There will also be a use count if there's more than one in the same cell.

i got a quick question
i installted sse display tweaks and anything that is necessary to run it so my game isnt capped at 60fps. when i launched the game via the skse loader i had above 60fps but when i start the game normal via steam it is capped again at 60fps. do i need to start the game always with the skse loader or is there a workaround ?
i also installed skyui nad started again sse on steam and got a popup message that the mod couldnt load because skse isnt installed

If you don't have Excel you can get Open Office which is free and can read MS excel files.

Hello to everyone. Please, someone here knows what happened to PS4 version of "Increased population: Towns & settlements" By Daedric Lords of Ky (A.k.a RxGunfighter & Jcon)? I really love this mod, but recently I've seen that only his lite version "Named npc's" are still listed on the Ps4 creators profile, but still exists on Xbox.
I've tried to find their creators here, but I don't know how to find a chat about specific mod...

You said not SE or AE. Only other option is LE. Legacy Edition. Most people consider SE to be the base game these days as it’s been out for like 6-7 years. But I guess some still play LE.
I have no clue what you mean. There are three (really two) options. SSE, SLE, and SAE (but AE is just SSE with all added CC content).

Well, I was assuming you were talking about the Steam version. And I was even starting to speculate that you were talking about the PS3 version. If it's PS4, it's definitely SE (AE).

Anyone got an OP potion list for Apothecary? Because I believe I may have found at least one for those with concern for their Magicka. All you need is just some Moon Sugar, Lichor, and Blind Watcher's Eye. Will give you a total of not one, not two, but four effects; Fortify Magicka 300 seconds, Fortify Magicka Regen 300 seconds, Restore Magicka 10 seconds, and Spell Absorption 60 seconds.

I can’t get SKSE to work I’m running the GOG version of the game and skse but it just refuses to work I’ve followed the steps carefully 3 times and it won’t work
You need to be sure you've downloaded the one targeting version 1.6.659 of the game from the SKSE site.

If you're using the in-game mod menu it tends to not like SkyUI because it has no parent files.
I’m using mod organizer 2 but I don’t have a mcm folder for some reason
SkyUI doesn't come with an MCM folder. It's just the .esp and .bsa files.

Well, if you wanted to you could respawn her earlier incarnation using Debug Menu and her RefID, but it's not exactly an immersive method as such.
What is her ref ID? I can use follower tweaks and other Astrid mod tweaks to adjust behavior
In my save she died back in 2016 😂 so there ain’t no save where I can go alllll the way back and grab it

There is a lesser power that gets added for opening the menu. Then you'd go to the Commands submenu. The commands are set up to mirror the ones on PC, so for instance you can use "player.placeatme" to spawn a new copy of her by going to the Player -> PQR submenus.

And as a side question, is there any mod or anything to change my gender without creating new saves and what not on Xbox?
You can use debug menu to open the race menu, which may work ok as long as you don't also change your race. The limited race menu that the face sculptor uses is also available but i cant remember if it allows switching gender.
You can also try searching on bethnet for just xbox mods using the filtering settings on the lefthand side of the page.

I got it. I used all race. All I had to do was use my vampier form and revert and i was able to continue my vampire lord quests as usual

Hmm? There should be buttons to select letter input, number input, etc. It is a bit a cumbersome system due to being on console, yes but I did try to make it as painless as I could given the limitations.

It means the mod was either removed or has been set to private by the mod author. It could also mean the original page was removed and the mod is on a new page.
Does anyone know if there's a non script way of giving npcs the same health regen as the player? Trying to make a Playstation mod to equalize the pc and npcs, but it seems like the only way to balance it is to remove the healrate from the player and followers instead.

You probably didn't use it right, which I will note is not necessarily your fault per-se - there is something of a high learning curve in using the available debugging tools since the console commands are based on the console commands available on PC and they function and are used similarly; thus, if you look up tutorials on how to use PC console commands it will basically teach you what you need to know about how to use the ones in Debug Menu.

Not specific to that, no. I made a couple demo videos when I was in an earlier stage of working on the mod, but I have not yet gotten around to making a tutorial series (which I am hoping to do at some point).

hey i got a little problem with the Creation kit. when editing reverb parameters for acoustic spaces, the test button is does nothing and play/stop is greyed out. usually with the old kit, you'd be able to set parameters like reverb amp, room filter, diffusion, density. and while you can still do that with the new kit, you can't test it. now that makes it all complete guesswork and thats makes it impossible to work with. i have had a suspicion it could be due to missing or wrong filepaths set by bethesda when upgrading the kit or something like that but i don't even know where to start. any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. and yes i have tried reinstalling, clean skyrim install, clean kit install, looked online, etc. i even tried to launch an old version of the kit and it worked there but using the old kit just isnt an option for Anniversary edition (SE). especially when launching the old kit with the new one installed just launches the new kit :p
Anyone know the files or what can cause this so I can see about fixing it?

I'm 80hrs into a save and just realized I can't do Fortify Enchanting/Alchemy potions, not trying to resto break, but I want to keep some subpar gear for fashion reasons and Ordinator gimps 90% of the builds in the early-mid game.
So It's pretty frustrating to not being able to one shot lvl 14 bandits when I'm lvl 42... I just want my sword to do more damage, damn.
Anyone know some mods that can make skyrim look beautiful? As well as making the npc's look not ugly?

Hey guys! I started a new game in Skyrim and vanquished the dragon attacking Whiterun's Western Watchtower. Now, I'm using various armor mods in conjunction with several hundred other modifications and a bashed patch courtesy of Wrye Bash. However, when I looted the corpses, donned the Whiterun Armor set (modified) I found a discrepancy.
The helmet appears differently in my inventory to the in-game model. I don't understand what's wrong. I'm using Guard Armor Replacers, Sons of Skyrim, Immersive Armors, New Legion, Realistic Armors, and Nord UA's Vanilla Armor Replacers and Race Armor Expansion, but I remember seeing Bash Tags for most of them. I've rebuilt the bashed patch thrice, but nothing has fixed the issue. I'm also using Diverse Skyrim and Open-World Loot. Could those affect the in-game model and the model displayed in my inventory?
May one hope that some day USSEP and USCCCP fixes/improvements will be included in the official release of the game?

Hello everyone! I am new to this server and am wondering if anyone can give me some insight on my concern. I recently finished a load order I am happy with. I have all the mods I need and it runs great! But I need to know: Should I clear my reserve space and reinstall all of my mods to get rid of any ghost space? I don't plan on downloading any mods, I'm just concerned about ghost space causing any small performance issues. Have you observed ghost space affecting performance? Thanks for any advice!
I would think a large amount of ghost space could affect performance. Not 100% sure. But if you have any ghost space I would do it. Favorite all your mods. Clear reserve space. Download favorites again. Re-arrange load order. Good to go. No concerns.

SkyUI has always required it. The ports were all gimped versions.

Correct. SkyUI version 2.2. If memory serves me correctly, it's what people were using in the aftermath of SSE's arrival before SKSE64 was released. It's also what is used for Switchrim: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimnintendoswitch/mods/236
Presumably it would also work on xbox, but I have no idea if it was ever ported or permission allowed for it.
So I'm pretty sure what I saw was SkyUI version 2.2. Unfortunately it is usually ported late at night on weekends and removed after about 7 hours.

"You can't plant that here" for eternity every single time I fast travel to the Alchemist's Shack.
Dunno which mod I'm using is causing it or if it's not from the mods (my guess is the Philosopher's Stone, idk why)
Time to either do standard conflict troubleshooting one mod at a time and/or do conflict resolution in xEdit.
Played the game, took out the Philosopher's Stone mod, and nothing else on my current mod list from my post.

Why would the Philosopher's Stone mod do that though? I know it's alchemy focused, but that's all I got that would connect it to the planter message
I'm not familiar with that mod so I couldn't tell you offhand. There's a whole host of possibilities. It could be a buggy mod, it could have an implicit dependency you're missing, it could be conflicting with another mod in such a way that one mod is overwriting part/all of the mod's implementation resulting in broken behavior, and so on.

just out of curiosity, im a big fan of Equipment Flexibility Project. I previously used your version and encountered a supposedly "known" guaranteed-CTD in Solstheim. Do you have any plans to update the mod to fix that? I see substill has a version that claims to have fixed it, but i've also seen people claim that I must be lying in the statement that your version does still contain this CTD.

can anyone help me out? I did something in bodyslide and suddenly my gear isnt what I want it anymore, I tried to put it back reinstall many mods to get back to the original settings, but nothing worked, so I deleted skyrim and all its folders, reinstalled, the problem is still there 😮

sometimes that happens and it sucks like a lot, I recommend after you reinstalling to download mod organizer V2, and then I also would recommend grabbing waba Jack which is a tool that allows you to download a really optimized load order they've got one that I use that has dev tools which I use for my day-to-day load order and optimization/playthroughs

I would honestly say and I don't know if this is the case for vortex but with mod organizer V2 you can make separate mod profiles so you can have multiple load orders going at once different playthroughs, you could easily navigate and troubleshoot with the dev tools that I sent you and using that mod organizer
You can do that with Vortex from what I last saw, but profiles in MO2 are easier to use in my opinion.

I'm on xbox series s, trying to use the Genesis mod to get more dungeon spawns, it worked for me like a few days ago, but after my most recent update to my LO the Genesis book doesn't show up in my inventory which means the mod stays inactive. I get a message immediately after hitting New Game the book was added, but it's like almost TOO early and it doesn't stay in my inventory when I'm done making my character in the Live Another Life cell. Is there a reason this book doesn't want to stick, and does anyone know a fix? I tried restarting multiple times but same thing happens. Idk why just days ago the book showed up fine.
Would be easier if I had console commands or the author made the book craftable.
Someone else on Reddit posted the same issue with 0 answers so the internet was no help.
the mod hasn't been updated for nearly 7 years and is probably not compatible with AE or something else you have e.g. LAL, you could try disabling mod, creating your character, save game in a safe place, re-enable the mod and see what happens.
I did do this, which worked, but the game crashes on the startup after enabling the mod, then when I start again it boots up fine. Seems a bit ridiculous to go through all that just to have the mod work lol

Is there another mod similar to Genesis? I am using Skyrim UnLeveled which adds hand placed enemies in a few dungeons, but the dynamic spawns making every dungeon a new experience with Genesis was fun. I wish it would just work with my game lol it's like the last mod I'm trying to get working.
i just posted on the mod and asked the MA if there is a more updated version (which doesnt require SKSE) that can be uploaded and I offered to upload it for them.
check the past uploads on their page with the numbers, you might be able to use an older version

Kinda weird. But assuming most any mod can be the one that finally pushes you to a vram Tipping point. And SMIM is “heavier” than most. Still Kodak surprised they you could go from a game that is running well to infinite loading screens though. Slower sure. But that’s a bit much. Which SMIM are you using?

My old laptop had specs like that and I can unfortunately confirm you don't want SMIM on it. Much the opposite you'll want to use as many performance mods and performane ini tweaks as you can find.

np glhf. In the future Debug Menu will include a mod scanner feature allowing for finding the IDs directly, so it should help make things like that easier to deal with.

Some graphics mods will help performance. Find texture mods that give options with texture resolutions less than vanilla. Skyland AIO should have an optimized version. Noble does too. Probably others.
Although it does bear mentioning you don't actually have to wait for your next playthrough if you don't want to; Debug Menu was designed to be installable mid-playthrough.
So using vanilla textures is part of your problem.

That’s just Myrwatch unfortunately. Sad but no fix that I know of.
You have to cap the framerate to under 60.
Otherwise the physics engine flips out.
But BGS locked my frame rate at 60 and I can’t change it. On Xbox
If your iGPU driver tool doesn't include a framerate limiter, you'll need a third-party tool like RivaTuner.

There is one mod that attempts to mitigate the problems of exceeeding 60fps, but it's not reliable enough imo.

At the very least, you do save performance by disabling vsync and having a third-party tool like RTSS handle capping the framerate.

I play on XBox Series S. I'm looking thru the Bethesda.net mods page (XBox) for mods that add hairstyles/wigs that can be crafted at a forge and then be equipped on NPC followers. I found a few by a modder named Raxxinate. I popped one into my game and it seems to be working great, but it only has black hair color. Their other mod with multiple colors doesn't have the styles I am hoping to find. I'm not looking for anything fancy, so even if it just crafts base game vanilla hairstyles, that would be awesome. Does anyone have any suggestions?

@echo pivot Note however the first two bits, the 05, is the mod index and will change depending on load order. You'll probably want to enter the formid using GetFormFromFile, for which you'll need the mod's filename. On PC the filename is "SOTGenesisMod.esp" and in theory should be the same on xbox, so long as the uploader didn't change it. The formID you'd then enter for that method would simply be "6E75".

What can I do when I cannot upload a mod to bethnet from the creation kit? For the life of me, I cannot upload a mod I just created via CK to BethesdaNet. What happens? The upload progress keeps failing and cannot even get past 25%. Are the BethNet servers acting up right now?

then you would need to go in and edit the mod through SSedit

Odin Magic Overhaul does that I'm pretty sure, it bases the level cap of thralls using your Conjuration level and perks chosen.

Most mod authors don't take player requests.
Some do.
For simple mods, particularly small tweaks, the best option is to find a mod author with a history of taking requests. Often, these authors will note this in their mods, or will have multiple mods crediting others for the ideas.
For complex mods, particularly large ones, chances are slim. You may want to consider checking out some tutorials to see if you can make it yourself. Even if you can only get part way there, you'll find it's much easier to find fellow modders willing to answer questions and direct you to resources.

SE and AE are the same game really. AE just adds all the CC content. Unless you have a mod that directly conflicts with a creation club (rare) then it will work fine.

Yea. Not sure why all mods don’t work with the current version yet.
If they're SKSE dll mods that didn't get recompiled for the post-AE version of SKSE then they wouldn't work for it IIRC. However, mods that are simply plugins (.esp / .esm / .esl) would/should continue to work, though potentially with some data differences / regressions if they were editing any records that SEE post-AE changed. Checking for conflicts in xEdit would quickly reveal the latter.
It looks like the aforementioned first person view mod is designed to work with the .net script framework which has not been updated for SSE post-AE (1.6), so mods reliant on that framework would not be usable on SSE post-AE.
AE is just the CC content. The current SSE version is the problem not AE right?
Technically, yes. I just tend to call SSE post-AE as AE.
Gotcha. Their marketing with AE really confused the situation.
That's why most of us instead refer to it as 1.5 vs 1.6, with 1.6 being the current branch.
But some people just updated SSE and never got AE.

The HF "fix" isn't addressing an actual bug. There's nothing actually wrong with the idea of dropping an item from your inventory to drag it into the case.

I'm playing Skyrim SE/AE on XBox Series S. I have a long running save and there are some named, non-essential NPC's that have been killed off over the course of time. Vittoria Vici, Ulfberth War-Bear, Jorgen from Morthal, etc. I'm looking for a mod that would revive them back to normal, either for this current save, or at least for my next playthrough on a new save. I see the "Cheat Room" mod has a feature like this. Any suggestions where I should put something like this in my Load Order (in general I mean, ie at the bottom?). I also saw mention here of a mod called "Debug Menu". Would that also work to revive dead NPC's?
Debug Menu can revive dead NPCs with the recycleactor command, yes, but it's not yet a perfect solution (there is usually extra data that needs to be corrected relating to various NPCs when brought back to life that few, if any, mods address; it takes significantly more time to set that up than the aforementioned command); though it does tend to be better than others such as Cheat Room which have not been updated in quite a long time now and also I am still actively working on it (Debug Menu). Unfortunately, often times the best solution is for the NPCs to simply not die in the first place. You may want to look into getting mods that sets such NPCs as either Essential or Protected so that they are immortal altogether (a.k.a. "Essential") or immortal until the person who kills them is you (a.k.a. "Protected").

Unfortunately you are going to end up having to learn how to use a mod manager no matter what; you'll inevitably see a mod you want that isn't in whatever mod list you're using and then it's pretty much on you to learn how to handle it from there. At least there are some really good tutorials on youtube for learning how to use the various mod managers (my personal favorite is still Mod Organizer 2).
I would check out Wabbajack
Wabbajack has a nice selection of wide range mod lists
I highly recommend checking out these three:

Brothers in talos. Without using XP32 (playing 'skyrim together' and we're mid game, not installing more full mods) is there a way to move the sheathed position of weapons, more specifically daggers. With the default skeleton.nif I see this node, and no matter how i move or rotate it the dagger position doesnt move. The only thing that has an effect is the "scale" which works as you would expect. I reversed another mod's dagger that looks awesome in the hand but its positioned very wrong when sheathed (its also floating off the body by like 3 inches)
In my few times messing with the positions of things inside a mesh, I found that changing various values didn't have a noticeable effect; I had to dig through trying other sorts of values till I found the right ones.
Unless you can find a tutorial or guide on youtube/etc showing you specifically which ones to edit to do what you're trying to do, you may have to just opt for some more trial and error.

Seems like the node you are trying to move is associated with the armature, so attempting to translate it's location in NifSkope won't work from what I'm aware of.
i've been at it this whole time, it does indeed move with simple nifskope skeleton edits 🙂 this is currently where im at, i added nodes and moved weapondagger to the new nodes. It's fun learning, even if i cant flip it over yet 😅
thanks for your advice. Just finished the edits. I got it on the correct side, and flipped over looking exactly as it should now. Thanks for the encouragement lol you were right, editing the weapondagger itself wasnt the move. for anyone else, making new nodes and editing the one before the weapondagger is the answer

Well this kind of stinks. I put the "Protect Your People" mod by Vagueraptor in my game to change the status of all named NPC's to "protected", but it seems to have had the opposite effect. My Nord just came home to her Hearthfire home (Heljarchen Hall) and a giant spawned there and killed her steward/housecarl Iona. She had always been marked as essential by a follower mod I use, but apparently now she isn't essential or protected. I'll try taking the mod back out and going back to an older save. Does anyone have any recommendations for other mods to protect named, non-essential NPC's? Btw- I am playing SSE/AE on XBox Series S EDIT: I was mistaken that my follower mod marked Iona as essential-- it does, but only while she is an active follower, and not while she is just a steward. I'd still like to find something that marks her and other named NPC's as "protected" (for whichever NPC's that is even possible). Thx
Try Divine people of Skyrim. It sets most as protected status. When I play Skyrim on Xbox that is the one I use. Also the MA accidentally made one of the NPCs look like Sir Patrick Stewart if using the right skin and body combination that is awesome.
Ok so I'm thinking about play Skyrim again for my second playthrough I've only done everything once and they didn't have cloud save back then so I lost it all on my new Xbox sooo id like some recommendations on some mods that would be helpful to the game that is on console? Thanks! I do have Divine People of Skyrim: Celestial Lite in my game. The change to protected status wasn't mentioned in the mod description page on Bethesda.net, but that is awesome that it's in there. I added the Protect Your People mod as a test and I put it below Divine People on my LO, so maybe that caused an issue. No worries, though, if the protected feature is added with Vexona's mod, then I won't need the PYP mod in the first place & I'll just remove it.
P.S. Patrick Stewart is welcome in my game at any time he wants!

Is there a mod that fixes where followers don't sneak when I do
If it's otherwise set up to function as a normal door but say requires a special key or something you can probably just unlock it using Debug Menu. Target it with the object targeting power then select the Unlock command in the "STU" submenu for objects. I went ahead and recorded a short example of this being done with a gate in Riften:

True there and I understand I might just go back to that and I use cheat room rings and yet I am done with the rings and I out them away and yet I still have the effects of them is there a way to fix that? Besides going to another save
Cheat room rings can get wonky sometimes. Especially if you save while wearing them. Usually just equip/unequip until it starts working. Sometimes it gets reversed. Have to put on the ring to make it stop working or vice versa. Maybe take it off. Save. Reload. See how it goes.

You don't need to restart. Just use Debug Menu to remove the buggy effects.

Yeah, because the rings have magnitudes that exceed the variable limits. First try this: Open Debug Menu, then go to Commands -> Player -> DEF -> DispelAllSpells. That one probably won't work, but try it anyways first.

Yes. The mod to one handed power is stuck, so it has to be removed. I'm testing it real quick to make sure I tell you the right command. I'm sleep deprived so i'm not 100% sure whether it's setav, modav, or forceav. I'll get back to you in a moment.
@worthy sigil Ok, hopefully we're on the last part now. Do the following: remove all of your equipped items. All weapons, armor, etc. Then go into Debug Menu and go to Commands -> Player -> STU -> SetAV. Enter "OneHandedMod" then when it asks for the amount enter "0" (zero). Then exit the menu, save your game on a new save slot, exit the game entirely, then load the game back up and chck your damage. It should be back to normal.

Yeah, I think somehow the effect is stuck on them instead of getting removed like it was supposed to along with the enchantment, otherwise setAV should've worked. So, time to try ForceAV.
Commands -> Player -> DEF -> ForceAV. Then enter "OneHandedMod" and "0" (zero). Also throw the damn ring away like you're Frodo and never use it again.

Also I may be wrong about it being beyond the variable bounds, for that matter. I could've swore all the actor values were short integers but I guess at least the skill mod ones are long ints.

Considering it has a decimal, it's probably a float, which is a pretty large range.

Come to think of it, I think 6 decimals was the precision limit for a standard float, so 100k would just have managed to fit. I'm guessing if it tried having a decimal after it the results would be fuzzy.

The way ForceAV works is it registers a Modifier to the value equal to the amount it takes to reach the value it was given. In this instance, you have that ring's effect stuck on your character which is boosting the value by 100k. To counteract it, it has to be modified by -100k. ForceAV basically did that, adding a modifier to your character to reduce the value by 100k to bring it down to 0 where it's supposed to be. Now, the reason this is important, is that there is a distinct possibility that at some point in your playthrough that effect that is stuck on your character could manage to finally get unstuck and get removed by the game. If that happens, what will then happen is the 100k that was increasing the value will vanish, leaving only the negative 100k modifier from ForceAV behind - this will result in your damage tanking into the deep negatives and you'll start healing everything you hit instead. If/when that happens, then you'll basically have to repeat the above steps to force the value back to 0 which will then remove the modifier.
But, since the value is stuck on you erroneously, it might remain there for the rest of the playthrough indefinitely.
So, yeah. Just something to be aware of.

Oblivion had dumb issues like this too and it took someone writing an OBSE mod to get rid of the permanently stuck values.

np. just be careful of gigantic spell magnitudes and such in the future. Most things in the game die from much smaller amounts so there's really no need for it.

Internally the archery skill is called "marksman" and the relevant actor value would be "MarksmanMod".
