You can’t copy-paste but you should be able to take color samples from 76 and put them onto the FO4 texture?
And/or adjust the brightness or the saturation a bit.

only thing i have done with textures so far is very simple edits like put a rank insignea on combat armor etc
and have no real experience in that field aside from that
You should be able to patch the scratches on the FO4 texture using Healing Tool. Better yet, create a new layer that cleans up the scratches to save on space. Then set the layer as a new OMOD that just patches over the vanilla texture. It’s crazy enoug that it might work. 🤷♂️

Okay so I've got a mystery for you guys to solve involving some Fallout 4 cut content I'm trying to restore: in the game files there's textures for "dirty"/"post-war" versions of the sweatervest, t-shirt and slacks, and sleeveless dress, which I'm making a mod to reimplement and distribute. The first two I've completely succeeded on, but for some reason the dress is refusing to cooperate!
Here's what I've done in the GECK, as you can see it's all displaying properly in the render windows and all the materialswaps, armoraddons, and .BGSMs are done properly (I've triple-checked!):
... and yet, when I load it in-game, while the "dropped item" model uses the correct materialswap/armoraddon, when equipped it renders with this one!
I'm completely stumped and my only guesses at this point are that there's some sort of script/code shennanigans involving this dress that I'm not aware of lmao. Any help would be appreciated!
Do you have any other mods installed when doing your in game test?
The armor peace might have a default Object Template that over rights what you set up.
None that affect clothing, though I'm about to disable those as well for further testing.

Anyone got reload speed fixing mods? I've been using a couple of new mods the last few weeks and uninstalled most. But now my reload speed is like 0.5s for a revolver and every other gun and I dont know why

I had the militarised minutemen mod. And I used it for the quick reload with dump mags. Just looks like it never disabled when I deleted the mod
You shouldn't be removing mods mid game, that tends to break things. Start a new game

If you create your own PBR materials (which you can do using free or royalty-free textures Textures.com, GIMP or Photoshop, and Materialize), you can use Quixel Mixer for Free. The Megascans library requires an Unreal Account (and I'm not sure how licensing works between games, so if you sign up read the fine print before doing anything).

You can also find some nice, already made PBR materials on sites like Art Station, CGTrader, and a few other places. Some are free, some you need to purchase. You just have to set a budget for your mod.

Make a backup before doing anything with it. Make a save of it in the current version of the Creation Kit (without CK Fixes). Test it in game to see if it derps, then find the bugs and have fun.

Hi new to discord but have played fallout 4 since release, does anyone know of mods that have gun belts or leg holsters available on Xbox? I used to use modern firearms but the latest version dropped armor which I’m not made about since file size is so much better

It says (Add-On For Unlocked Settlement Objects) I know, but read in the Description and you will see it is also for users of Workshop Rearranged.
There should be no need to translate those. Name fields don't show up for STAT records in the game. They're just static assets.

If it’s weather related there are several mods available I use true storms idk if you can permanently change the weather but you can change it, other than that for Xbox 1 the “Boston fps fix aio” is the best mod for stabilizing the game in my experience only issue is it’s freaking huge on. On series x the only issue I’ve noticed is crashing during shadow of steel but that issue was running nearly all the individual clean and smooth mods separately at once

The Clean and Smooth mods have thousands of deleted items and Identical to Master references, they will cause crashing all on their own. Use the Clean and Simple mod series instead. I’m trying to sculpt Harold the Ghoul from Fo1 in Blender for a mod i’m making. I’m having trouble adding smaller details to his face because of how rotted it is. My sculpt doesn’t look good at all. Any tips? I’ve been sculpting stuff for a while, but I guess the deformities on his face are what make it so difficult

Thanks I know I reset the reserved space and everything, I feel silly I only just found out that cc uses some of your reserved space for mods like wtf 🤬 we only get 2 gbs and 25mbs gets used by cc 🤬
That’s not CC. Both games have had that small amount of unusable mod space since mods were released on console, before CC existed.

The Bethesda website lists all mods in MiB and KiB, which is digital storage value. The reserve space on Xbox is 2 GB. There are 1.86265 GiB in 2 GB. Yes. You get 2GB, but you have to actually calculate the values from the website to figure out if you've gone over. It's an approximately 25-30 MB difference. I already know that I’ve been playing fallout since release, I was just surprised that last load order I made left me with 25 mbs of space left but I hadn’t loaded any cc items when I did it said “not enough free memory” I always thought the reserve space was just mods but cc takes up some too why idk 🤷♂️
No, CC doesn’t take up any mod space. That amount of around 25mb that you can’t use has existed since before CC dropped, for the reasons oddlittleturtle explained.
CC absolutely never uses any of your mod space allowance. Whoever told you that was mistaken, and now you can link them to turtle’s explanation above as to why it actually can’t be used.
CC is actual DLC for the game and I think it has to be deployed and distributed very differently than what we see in the reserve space. I could be mistaken. There's not a way to really check. However, AFAIK, the CC was added to the FO4 game files under the Game Management options, which is different from the reserve space used for mods. When CC first came out, there were people offline that hadn't updated that had smaller game file sizes before the download of the extra stuff.
@lucid minnow heya, sorry if pings aren't appropriate but the mod description told me to come find you so I have. I'm using your Spawn Settlers mod on ps4 and I've run into a big issue. I'm no modder so I don't know if it's because of conflicts or what. So, when I've used the beacons relatively spaced in intervals so no crashing occured, and then assigned the new settlers, everything works just fine. They do their jobs and the numbers go up as they should. However, when I've left the area for a significant amount of time and return via fast travel, those spawned settlers are gone. It's not just that I can't find them; the settler count diminishes and their jobs go unfulfilled. Is there anything I can do to solve this issue for good? Have you ever heard of this before? Ok create a new mod list download everything you can in the reserve space then when that’s full load any cc content you have, only load cc after the free mods and see how many creations you can load if you can load everything something is weird with my game but after clearing the 2gbs on my hard drive I downloaded cc first then mods I still had 49mbs available when free space ran out. When I downloaded mods first it’s was 24mbs but I couldn’t load any cc try it for yourself I did this in the past few days

I don’t actually think cc is dlc I think it’s closer to mods they both use esp files right not esm so yes it’s separate but some files connect them
Besides some of the cc items are fairly big aren’t they like over 100mbs
CC uses .esl's, they are light masters files
I never claimed to be a programmer or master modder but test out what I’m saying
Turtle and Invoker are long-term modders, so know that it works the way they explain it does.
New here to the group help a dummy out would you kindly, I have an Xbox one x updated (preowned, don’t know prior history came clean) fallout 4 updated. I can’t go into Boston outside goodneighbor without freezing. The mods I’m using are strictly for “fixing” the game and fast start and location setting. The unofficial fo4 patch, alternate between Boston fps fix aio and Boston fps fix-aio, Boston lesser enemies, skk fast start ng and location. That’s five mods and in that order and that’s all I got. I spawn in goodneighbor wait till everything is loaded and I walk out and spend my time runnin tryin not to die just to see if I can push the console and freeze and it’s constant freezing for all of my tests. Help msg me directly for any ideas I’m open, I spent $14 on it on sale and it’s my 2nd digital version 1st ps4 now Xbox and I can clearly see Xbox’s limits being pushed

It's a quest that references a form list, I think. If you just want to change the spelling I think you just need to change the form list.
There was a lot of confusion when things first landed because there are a number of creations by well-known mod authors who applied as contractors to Bethesda through the Creation Club program. From what I understand, the mod authors listed on each CC are actual contracted plugin developers that went through the Creation Club application process to have their ideas and work showcased. I'm not in the program nor did I apply so I'm not sure what the application process was or what all was needed to have any ideas showcased.
My limited understanding is that Bethesda bought their works and gave them adjustments as needed to fit them into their Fallout 4 universe and turned them into content to work with the base game. Updates to the game code and main plugin had to be done to fit them in, just like with the normal DLC. Some only have like 8 or 9 records in them. These are ESLs. They tiny. While others are actual ESMs because they have more than a set number of records in them. Charlestown Apartment, for example, is an ESM master file with localization and other under-the-hood stuff necessary to make it a DLC. (ESL masters only hold so many records before they have to be converted to an actual ESM master.)
That said, and regarding modding and load orders: Because of how the prologue works with Fallout 4, most of the CC have to be treated as mods when downloading them. They're automatically installed when purchased. There are random issues that have been known to occur when attempting to load them all at once; one such issue is the Vault 111 door not completing its animation sequence to leave the Vault. It also makes it difficult to manage mod load order installation and testing if you get pop ups for the DLC the whole time and that door gets stuck. There are mods available to skip the prologue sequence, and there are mods available to delay the starting of the CC that mitigate this issue.
Treating them as mods does not make them mods nor does it make them part of the Season Pass DLC. They aren't even downloaded to the same partition as mods or DLCs on consoles. They'd be separated out if that were the case. When attempting to uninstall (and because they're not separated into Season Pass parts like the originals but are part of the main block on the Fallout 4 under Game Management on Xbox), they must be removed by reinstalling the game (for PlayStation) or clearing the reserve space on Xbox -- which for the CC is not shown but it appears to be two different folders under the same 2GB header. There's over 4GB for the entirety of the CC so it would be completely full if they were in the same folder and no mods at all could be downloaded.
At least that is my understanding on how things work regarding everything. Like I said before, we don't have a way to look at things on Xbox other than the Games screen and the load order screens in-game. DLCs have never been listed on the Load Order screen. I do wish they had an uninstall button on the CC screen, but I'm pretty sure that's a bad idea since it could very well break the game if they're uninstalled on an on-going save.

Re: vault elevator not descending during the exit sequence...weird. But if i wait long enough an invisible barrier disappears and i can proceed as if the elevator is present. Change race/name/special works as normal. I dunno, wonky as.
Vault elevator? I've only had that happen if the precombines are disabled for the cell. The Vault 111 door animation sequence will freeze right after unplugging the pipboy if too many things inject into the player inventory right after you acquire it (1 possibility, there are others).

I don’t have an answer for the NPC interactions but there are “Rsiyo’s Location Pack” and “Atomic World 1.9” both add a decent number of locations and such.
Yes; this seems to occur for some players, and I'm unsure why. Assigning them jobs seems to sometimes resolve it, but not always. Sometimes it only affects some spawned NPCs and not others. A workaround that sometimes works is to tell them to relocate to another settlement, then talk to them again before they leave and tell them to relocate back to the original settlement. I wish I had more info.

Is there a way to create a weapon with custom armature? I just modeled a weapon but I’m not sure which steps to take. I’ve done lots of rigging for other games, but I’ve never tried using a custom armature

given the 23rd century and color-coded, clean interior, i've always thought it would be neat to redo the Institute as a blend of mirror-universe Starfleet and what it is currently. Shaun with a badguy goatee. type one and 2 phasers, type 3 rifle with plasma perhaps, but reskinned to match the show (and give the "good guy" minutemen blue lasers instead? hmmmm maybe a higher-frequency crank chamber module that does equal electrical damage, designed to kill synths)

Unfortunately mods which change the layout of the entire vanilla menu are going to cause conflicts with any settlement mods that don't use script injection for the menus such as all of Ethreon's mods (The Master Plan etc). This workshop add-on pack adds 1000s of unique, lore friendly items to build in your settlements. Script injected, adding a new menu 'cVc'
Thematic and Practical is a mod that aim to provide new constructible objects for your workshop. The plan is to update it with new themes during the developement.
I personally also use Settlement Objects Extended and Snappy Housekit a LOT.
SOE and Snappy create a lot of architectural building kits and objects that Homemaker doesn't. Homemaker, SOE, and Snappy will get you all the most important "vanilla" content. cVc and Thematic/Practical get you a lot of new and unique stuff that has a vanilla feel to it. If you like furniture and decor you might want to also check out my three mods I mentioned, but especially Creative Clutter and Do It Yourshelf. DIY is great for easy decorating shelves, lockers, bookcases, and displays. Creative Clutter is chock full of unique decor you can't get anywhere else.

Recreating attire from copyrighted characters is a very gray legal area. Bethesda tends to exercise caution and not allow them if the intellectual property is owned by someone other than Zenimax/Bethesda.

Did you setup a custom race? Did you check the Skin's addon? will it show just fine in C.K. but not in game ? Look to see if all is packed up correctly, missing Materials file.
I did not set up a custom race. I added new bodyparts for humans. I suppose that would be a cleaner way to do it. It shows up fine in the CK cell view and preview windows. I’ll check the material files
Making a new skin (armor and armor addon), then adding your new race to that armor addon is more compatable then changing the existing skin armor addon. BTW.
What confuses me is that the only part of the character’s model that I modified was the head. Everything else is from the base game
So you are using the armor addon skin of a human that is not marked use-able for your new race.

You only want the sound files. Nothing else. CK likes to grabby hands. Make sure that you have the correct paths and make sure you have parented Fallout4.esm or whichever DLC is needed.

Im just disappointed with the lackluster melee mods out there. Yea Ik fallout is a "fps" essentially. But there are those of us that prefer swords over guns. Or scythes. Or giant flaming hunks of metal. It's a fantasy game ffs lol.

Well, the very vague and general idea is to go from base game changes to specific overrides. If two or more mods alter the same thing in the game, the bottom one will be the one that you see when you play.

There's also some general best practices involved.
After installing and sorting your mods, the game will reload. Let it do the thing, then quit the game, restart the console, and start up the game.

You have to be more specific about what you want to do with mods for somebody to recommend them, some mods don't play nice with each other and it depends on what you're wanting to do.. blow stuff up, build, manufacture, look pretty or just enjoy the scenery.

So I am trying to make a mod that adds faction skins in the their respective load order and I did what I could to match how the keywords were done with other materials in the game but it just won't work. I'm not sure what I'm missing. My current edit is a keyword similar the BOS Material, not skin, modification. Although previews are saying it's not loading right. Any help?

Sadly not for PlayStation. If you’re looking for top quality mods and you want to stay in console, then unfortunately you will have to move to Xbox. Sony doesn’t allow assets to be added into the game. So basically all mods on PlayStation are just reused assets that are already in the game. PC and Xbox is the way to go when it comes to modding though. Bethesda and Microsoft are very supportive of their modding communities and allow external assets in their games.
I haven’t played fallout 4 in a while. I’d assume “yes” but can’t give you a specific answer. I’d suggest a quick YouTube search or google search would help you.

You give them what you want them to sell and trade. You collect the caps at the end of the week. Rare chance for a legendary item they got in trade, rare chance that business was slow and they only sold half as many goods. Increase sell rates by increasing the number of connected settlements. Inventory capacity increases with shop tier.
Tier 4: unlimited inventory capacity. Give them all your purified water and contraption manufacture output, receive capssssds

Actually I don't think it was there until Bethesda announced the mods, but I do remember getting it while building a settlement on spectacle Island, and waiting for manufacturing extended, to finally get cleared by Sony... and that was when I got my first 0KB before mods were released on PS4. And Bethesda did an update for the other systems which had to be pushed through on PS4.

@torn pebble the mod I mentioned is called Delirium. Definitely fun to play with. Now I think the base game is too easy, even on Very Hard difficulty.
What things does the mod change?
It's an overhaul mod. Fusion Cells act like Fusion Cores, ammo and stims are rarer, Staggering is buffed, there's around 30 unique weapons to find. The author can tell you more. Ask @glad panther to give you a better rundown.

Hey I was wondering if anyone can help me with a modding issue I'm having on PS4. My game files are constantly being corrupted and/or crashing and I can't create new games. I've tried reorganizing the load order several times and taking out conflicting mods. The only solution I've been able to find is playing with three to five mods at most

Personally I leave the vault, hard save as soon as the elevator spawns me up top then enable mods on PC too.

Most mods would be OK to go on PC. On Nexus they have a better description and if you read any pinned posts as well they normally warn you if they need enabling after the vault.
When you ride that elevator up the game is reloading the landscape to the post war state so in general, avoid enabling any that make changes to the vanilla landscape before it has all loaded an rendered in. Ie; blueprints, Sim Settlements, environment /foliage mods, quest mods and mods that add extra items/volume etc.
Looks Menu should be fine as its your character, any other npc/follower mods I would wait on too.
I'm sure someone over in #fallout-4-mods will have answers for you. Pop in there and ask the very helpful modding community of the server.

@mellow cypress the linked reply is almost entirely the opposite of what you should do. Mods with quests, mods which add anything to the inventory of NPC's (armor, weapons) including vendors, the Unofficial Patch, and Sim Settlements should be installed before you ever load the game. However environment, foliage, and blueprints can be added after vault exit.

Sorry I accidentally @ 'd someone else in my previous response. Think of save game persistence to decide what to load before starting the game vs loading after the vault exit. Assuming your load order (especially Creation Club content and mods that add things on startup like holotapes) isn't too heavy you can actually load all mods before you start the game. But the bigger the load order and especially the more mods that have quests kicking off on game start/things being added to inventory the less safe it is to load all mods at the start. There are some types of mods that must ALWAYS be loaded before you ever even start the game though as I described above. There are a bunch of quests kicking off in the background during the pre-war sequence, both mod added stuff and vanilla game stuff. Quests and scripts put stuff in your save game that is persistent so that you can always carry on with fewer issues. Leveled lists should also be generated at the start such as your weapons and armor, anything that goes into a vendor's list. Otherwise you have to wait for a list reset to get those items to show up. Things like the environment however are not stored in your save game, so you can technically change pure mesh/texture replacer foliage mods mid-game for instance without any problems. Weather won't change instantly but as soon as a weather change is due the game will pickup any weather changes from just added mods so those can be added later. Body replacers like CBBE can be added at any time but if you're going to use a Looksmenu preset you want all your looks based mods to be loaded before the game starts so you don't have to do your looks a second time.
Settlement mods can be loaded after vault exit, in fact I recommend installing Settlement Menu Manager first, running the game, save, exit, then install any mods which rely on SMM.

ok thanks you, i used to mod xbox fo4 all the time, but i haven't played fo4 for the last four years, and this will be my first time modding on pc. i have watched gophers tutorials along with screaming lakes and gamerpoets, i have also been reading tome xedit, as i really need to know about it as everyone tells me it's the best way to resolve conflicts
Creation Club quests are one type of quest mod that are not only safe, but actually better to load post vault exit and there's a mod that delays their start that I highly recommend if you have more than 2-3 CC packs
With Gopher, Screaming Lake, Gamerpoets, xEdit tome you're already on the right track!
i don't have any creation club content yet as i had a lot of xbox versions of it, but i have learned i have to re-buy that content for pc, which is a bummer but hey-ho
PC modding can be a LOT more complex than console modding, but it's also more rewarding, a lot more customizable, and the availability of mods is SOOO much more vast

Luckily with PC modding if you're willing to learn to use the tools like xEdit to create your own patches and resolve your mod conflicts you can use mods together that you couldn't on console
that is what i am looking forward to doing, i love learning new things that will help me in the long run

I highly recommend learning to use mod organizer 2 vs any of the other mod managers. It's more complex to learn at first but it has a lot better functionality

Most of the best mods on Bethnet for console are also available for PC on Bethnet or an even better version is available on Nexus by some other author. There's one site I won't mention here for NSFW mods, aside from that site most modding sites beyond Bethnet and Nexus are questionable unless it's an individual mod author's site. Lots of mods are only available via discord now too since the Nexodus.

back to discussion, I know settlement related mods best. I'm definitely not the person to ask about things like weapon mods. I will say that on PC if you want a lot of weapon mods (and armor mods) you'll need to learn to patch your leveled lists. Not all weapon mods script inject to the leveled lists, some direct edit them which then conflicts with every other mod doing the same thing.
I recommend going with the newer Equipment Crafting Overhaul (ECO) framework vs AWKCR/Armorsmith/Weaponsmith. I recommend the FallUI mods series, including that same author's Complex Sorting xEdit tool vs using DEF-UI and VIS or VIS-G. The older mods work, they're still quite popular and high in the list of most popular of all time on Nexus, but the newer ones generally have less bloat and better features.

that was also one thing i wanted to learn xedit about, putting weapons and armours in to level lists

None that I'm aware of. They break the precombines to allow you to scrap things outside the vanilla borders. If you've got a beefy enough PC (mid range at least) and you're selective about where you build you should be ok. For instance instead of using Neeher's AIO mod for extending settlements pick and choose individual settlements to extend. Don't build up more than one in the triangle of death (Sanctuary, RR, Abernathy), don't build up Hangman's, Airport, or Bunker Hill. If you're going to use settlement extension mods I definitely recommend Neeher's vs anyone else, his are safe and properly done.

Yes you can use Neeher's settlement extension mods. I personally really like to use Raze My Settlement to scrap with because one press of a holotape button does it all for me.
As for SS2 there's one quest that has you build a city plan but you're not otherwise required to build city plans so you can build plots and arrange the settlements however you like 🙂

if you're going to use WR just make sure that all your other mods either script inject their menus or you have a patch. Ethreon's mods will need a patch.

WR does add custom content in addition to re-arranging the menu. I personally don't want the menu re-arranged so I've never used it
i like to build each settlement differently
Personally I use a few big ones from the Kitchen Sink section like SOE and Homemaker, pair with Snappy Housekits for structural beyond what SOE has and then focus mostly on mods with custom content
i thought about snap n build but people seem to have lots of issues with it
I tend to go with either the prewar or shabby chic look myself but if you prefer lore friendly wasteland I recommend Thematic and Practical
oh and cVc's Dead Wasteland is lore friendly custom content
i try to mix them up, i have my main settlement as pre-war and the rest a mixture of lore friendly and shabby

What do you want to change about your game? We can't make seriopus recommendations until we know that. The worst thing a player new to mods can possibly do is download mods simply because other people use them.

You can launch through steam but your F4SE mods won't work if you do. If you don't keep your game updated (which you really should) it'll also update the game to the latest version by launching through steam.

The Machine and Her (TMAH) is extremely well-written storywise and well worth playing through a few times to see different endings. The mod is however a bit on the buggy side so I highly recommend creating hard saves often, especially before entering any mod interior location or before starting a new quest. There are definitely some technical issues with TMAH, I won't lie. I have permission to do an "unofficial patch" for the mod but it takes time and energy and I have lots of mod projects to work on so I don't know when it'll get done >.<
But as long as you avoid a couple of common issues and save often for reloads you'll be fine 😄

You might want to consider using Equipment Crafting Overhaul (ECO) instead of AWKCR. ECO is currently maintained and lighterweight (less bloat). It's available for both consoles. The PC version isn't on Bethnet but is on Nexus

I need the character to talk whilst sitting down but the option to speak to them disappears when they sit and they don’t initiate the dialogue as they do when standing up. Any ideas?

There aren't many gun mods for PlayStation, given the restriction on new art.
There's a fair variety of "fun" weapons that launch things like fireworks, mirelurk hatchlings, skulls, et cetera. Or allow more mixing and matching of weapon parts. Wacky Weapons Workshop is probably the best example of this:

You can get pretty creative with the handmade rifle and radium rifle.
I would like to request a mod to be ported to console. The mod in question is called Burn The Body by gh0stwizard.
When requesting a port, it's good to call out if it has open permissions or not. This mod does, which makes it much easier to port, so highlighting that fact increases the chance someone will bite.

So I've progressed pretty far into the main story, but I just found a very cool mod. I assume in order for the installed mod to work, restarting the progress is required?
Unless it is a script-heavy mod, chances are good it can be added mid-playthrough without issue. And authors tend to be pretty good about calling out when a fresh character is preferred, or required.
In the past few years we've featured over 900 mods, every single one of which was tested with existing (unmodded) character saves.

Permissions were granted from the Mod Authors. Only caveat is that the BAR has a file without the Ammo Counter Framework requirement.
If the ammo counter framework is required, then it’s likely a skills issue as to why it was never ported.
Porting the ACF would be possible but would require doing so via Behavior. ACF on PC uses F4SE Papyrus extensions to achieve the counting.

Hm, turns out that I had to load FDI before SMUFDI. I had to move FDI (and the lockup failed! Patch) from the HUD section of my LO.

Hello there I'm looking for a FO4 mod that erases the special points limit of 10 to either 20 or unlimited.
I can’t really answer this but I have a question. Why? Lol
Why not? I have the craftable special books mod and want to actually put it to good use. It's not that hard to get level 180+, if you do everything, including additional content and are immersed in building settlements.
I know that 10 + bobbleheads + equipmemt boni is way enough for any playthrough except maybe survival, but why should I not be able to go beyond natural 10 without resorting to playingbsurvival and artificially lower my stats through drugs and sleep, food, water depravation?
You can easily go beyond 10 permanently. I think you can have up to Charisma 15 permanently and then chems give you an added bonus.
Charisma 15+=your settlements going
with the number of settlers. Hope you're not on console.

All it takes is for oh say a company like Disney to go hard after Bethesda and Bethesda to decide allowing radio mods, or even mods at all isn't worth the risk. It's in everyone's best interest to follow copyright laws, not to mention the interest of the actual author who will be the first handed paperwork to show up in court.
I certainly can't stop you from trying to get sued by companies with way more money than you do but I wouldn't recommend it.

Do any of you know someone who can help me find differences in materials/textures and find out how to make them compatible with Crafting Highlight Fix?
I have AK and the mod makes it possible to have decals on the chest and arms of the combat armor, but when using Crafting Highlight Fix it is impossible to see the decals in the armor bench, they show up healthily on the armor when wearing it, but that you can't see them, is bugging me and i would like to fix it
Is it a mod issue outside of Crafting Highlight Fix? All CHF does is override the ScaleForm shader, it cares not about anything else. If you remove CHF, do the decals show up? Chances are they don’t and the issue is w whatever mod is adding the decals.

The mod Author (Dank Rafft) did not describe how the mod is made. In the description is said "you'll have to wait a couple of ingame days for all the cells to reset".

The description did not say to install before you start a new game or if that is supported.
so your theory is that regardless of if i add it mid save or have it installed from the start of a new save, it likely takes a few ingame days to go into effect?
Another possibility is the mod changes only the level list {so the marker that spawns the item don't work} and hand place items have not been disabled. Look at the mod in Fo4 edit, of it has items marked as deleted in cells avoid that mod. See if it only changes the level list. If it notes cells, and the items are disabled then that's what you want / are asking for, NOT DELETED.
it says it affects placed items as well as leveled lists. its a pretty popular mod so i am inclined to believe that
whatever, all my other mods work, so i'll just assume the vault is supposed to still have its loot

DankRaft knows to not delete objects, his mods are safe to use iirc
I suggest asking on the mod page for clarification. Also you may have a mod conflict and need to sort his mod lower
Hey guys, I have a quick question about the versions of Fallout 4 for modding purposes
Anyone know anything about Fallout Versions Like 1.10.63- 1.10.75 etc? Mod author of Horizon 1.8 states in his install directions that the Versions required for the mod to work are 1.10.64+ and up.
I have 1.10.63 and can't seem to find a way for it to update. I have tried everything.
1.10.163 is the current release version of the game. So something described as being for 1.10.64+ should be fine.

So, the mod Barren Trees keeps disabling itself and auto-positions itself at the bottom of my LO.
What does this mean and how can you fix it?
The Mod Author doesn't know how either.
From what I know, a mod that does that on console has not had the actual game listed as a master when it has been made. It’s an error that can only be fixed on the MAs end.
DarkAngel, the mod author will need to save the mod in the CK with Fallout4.esm selected. Data > check the box for Fallout4.esm > check the box for Barren Trees > select Barren Trees mod and click the button for Active > hit Ok. Make a tiny edit to "bump" the CK to let it know the mod now has a master and click save.
I assume Barren Trees is just supposed to be a blank plugin with a texture and material file BA2s.

…no it isn’t lol. The “Great Divergence” happened immediately after WWII. That’s 1945. The world is still “our world” but instead of weaponizing nuclear energy, we focused on researching power. We still weaponized it but we were able to discover Fusion Power. In the year 2077, that’s when then bombs dropped. 2077 in the fallout universe is still 2077 in our universe. The only big difference is we discovered fusion power in Fallout.

I probably won’t find the time to help w it. I was more or less just curious what the mod/idea/port was.
Well there’s a few. I’m looking for a good retexture mod that makes the world feel a bit more run down and rustic. I have a mod installed called “Clarity - A Visual Overhaul”, but it’s not quite what I’m looking for. I like the atmosphere of New Vegas personally, only because it’s more barren and rundown.
The other mod is actually a touch-up for an existing mod. This I know you’d have to ask permission to alter or change and then re-upload, but basically there is a mod called “Colonial Army Uniforms”. I like using this mod for the minutemen. Especially the ones around The Castle. The only thing I don’t like is the uniforms are dirty (which I completely understand lore wise because of radioactive dust, etc. Yet, I want a clean version. Either that, or if there’s a better Colonial Uniform mod I’d love that to be ported.
Another mod I’d love to either be ported or created is a mod pack that gives you all the old Fallout New Vegas outfits. There’s one close to it which gives you all outfits from Fallout 3, on Xbox. Yet I haven’t seen anything for New Vegas except the Project Mojave Workshop Pack. The closest thing to outfits is the NCR Outfit Pack, but I was just wanted all the outfits from the game.
Those are my requests and I absolutely know it’s a lot lol
Oh! And I forgot- maybe a sound overhaul mod as well? There’s some on Xbox but not enough. The ones that have been uploaded are either buggy for me or aren’t quite right to me.

At the time of posting, I was looking into a list of mods recommended for pure mod development to ease my suffering with my aging original XB1.
Most of the mods you gotta download will be mods revolving around textures and objects. I think one is called “Insignificant Object Remover”?
At least on PC side, I know IOR isn't that helpful (it only saves a few draw calls at best), and the mod dev work in question is for performance, anyway, so for me, I think UF4OP and Cheat Terminal (for moving to areas) should be good enough?

the most likely reason is that one of the mods you have installed is missing a master file. does Vortex not tell you about missing masters somewhere?

Hi, its times like this that i wish we still had the Beth forums. All the test info etc was there. IOR is at best a placebo and makes no discernable difference. It does not remove objects it just makes them invisible. They are still processed. Avoid.
I’m sorry but- with this mod installed I don’t crash in downtown Boston. Without it I do. I’ve tested it myself on 2 different saves.

Sorry to disagree but we tested it on multiple machines and saves over an extended period with and without other mods. Our advice is to avoid.
I use the term avoid as I don't wish to appear to criticize any Mod Author's work and only want to thank them for providing us with Free Mods.

I think the easiest is CK. if you know pascal, you could probably write an FO4Edit script or Pra might have a few scripts.

Darkhai, what’s your play style? Explorer, weapon smith, builder? What Xbox do you play on? OG, S, Series S, Series X. There are 20k+ mods to choose from.
Some load order staples: Skip the prologue with SKK’s New Game Fast Start, search the mods and see your full load order with Ugh. Mods Manager Cap. Optimize your game and fix bugs with the Unofficial Fallout 4 patch and Previsibine Repair Pack. Build wastelandish stuff with Dead Wasteland. Higher poly body without having new meshes for every vanilla mesh and waste precious space with Enhanced Vanilla Body.
If you want a more in-depth main quest overhaul, substitute SKK’s with Start Me Up Redux. If you don’t care about the space and just want female body and to replace all armors in game with new meshes CBBE.
An excellent quest to try is the Machine and Her, and there are several others. If you scroll up, I think Cartogriffi gave a list but it has been a while.
Also check out the featured mods. There’s some really fun ones to try this month. Last month had some fun ones too.
If you’re a builder, supplement Dead Wasteland with Creative Clutter. If you want to expand crafting, Equipment and Crafting Overhaul.
If you want to expand vanilla weapons, and aren’t using a crafting overhaul, Equilibrium.
If you want previous games goodies rebuilt and refined for Fallout 4, any of the FriedTurkey and Grills goodies.
I don’t have links for these since I’m on phone so you’ll have to do a website search or maybe someone nice will come along and link them for us.
Fallout Miami team released a mod during the summer, but I haven’t had a chance to try it. Have it on my list to play. You might want to try it too.
Wanderer, Xbox One S. I plan for a series type Xbox someday. I've entered two sweepstakes to win an Xbox Series X.
I tried adding mods of weapons, armor and creatures that have said to be in old Fallout games.
Series X is pricy but nice. Xbox One S will give you issues downtown, so make sure you’ve got the previsibine repair pack. The MA is also looking for feedback on how it is performing on console. The more feedback they have the better they can improve things.
One request to the mod author. Could they make one for Nuka-World?
On S don’t overdo it with weapons and armors. Those are created dynamically and at the various places downtown with all the turf triggers can bog things down. HalluciGen-Hubris Comics area, for example has three turfs back to back along with crossing over borders as you fight so it’s loading and unloading the cells depending on certain scripting that’s running.
The MA builds things in 3x3 blocks, so will need a list of the areas that are giving people problems. Just saying “Nuka World” is not very helpful.
The Gauntlet mostly. It's been a while since I last played so I might be fuzzy on where I've had problems before.
I rarely go to Nuka World. I only have it because it came with the season pass.
Last time I played I was a cheating cheater with cheat terminal god mode and one shotted everything. 
The best thing to do is to play through on vanilla and see where your sticky points are. A mod might make things worse by making adjustments to the turrets or adding textures the box isn’t expecting to have to load
You guys saw that some parts of PRP is released on Xbox? Now we have Corvega, Financial District and Boston Common
Would it help on Xbox? Since BFPSF is heavy and doesn't allow us to play Far Harbor, if this helps I say it's the way to go for trying to make the game stable
Hey does anyone here know about load orders i know it loads them from top to bottom but what should be placed more at the top and more at the bottom?
I would assume patches and fixes up top and better graphics first and weather and all that jazz then move onto faction overhauls then settlement addons
@pallid brook In theory, the first two should have an improvement, the third, unsure yet. I need to test on XB1, but the process used is the same I've done for the last couple years, just adjusted for XB1
