Are the arena rewards dropping this week? They usually come the same day as the reset. And the green gems have not been available on Saturdays. Those two rewards are quite satisfying for participating in the monthly arena experience.

Arena season rewards should be going out now as planned, just a little delayed.

The arena opens up as an option early but once anyone gets to xp 50 that is all the stat points you get. After xp 50 no more stats are gained. You can match anyone any level but the higher you climb it tapers to only xp 50. The highest ranked opponents have very honed skills from practice and know the ins and outs of creating arena builds. What I am getting at is don’t worry about the xp level matching because competitive arena is end game after you level up and join and knowledge guild for advice and support.

Arena for Blades might look discouraging if you start too early. The arena unlocks way too soon, but it does give a preview an opportunity to grind for materials, win, or lose. I find arena to be the greatest part, making builds, grinding for gear mats, really fun. All that starts after level 50. And finding a great guild helps maximize time and understand the mechanics in arena. Very competitive and complex. There are plenty who are active to keep arena interesting every month.

If you really play this game, you can go to the leaderboard, look at descriptions of the top guilds and enter to their Discord servers. PvE guides don't require joining, so it's better than asking here, where there's not even 5% of the Blades community

Joining a guild is the way to go for ongoing improvement. But to answer the question, for abyss and quests you don’t need the best gear. Just a mid level enchantment can work. If you take two fire armor enchantments for example and have the enchantment synergy skill in the tree you can get a higher stat for the 2 or more same enchantment on armor. You could get mail armor and then enchantment it with the same element main but it is not going to be a major difference for abyss and quests. Some quests hit you with all the elements at once so it can be neat to get creative with the mail armors and get full coverage of poison, shock, fire, and frost. That is quests and abyss. If you get interested in arena health armor is good for that. Join an active guild too for more advanced tips.

I saw a guild with a description of offering help in PvP and PvE, but its GM was using elemental armor on Arena. So not every active guild is good 😄

Some who use element armor in arena do quite well but that is an option. Lots of builds to think about. Makes Blades arena entertaining with the varying configurations.

Elemental resist armors have their place even inside the arena…and also a time when its a poor decision..

If you are looking for elemental resistance its best to use the dragonscale equivalent armor of the resist you want to enchant it with, to further boost the elemental resist, heavy armors are just an all around higher armor rating set that dosen’t take as much time to build a “turtle” dragonscale set.

It doesn't matter. Regardless of the amount of resistance, a condition is imposed on the opponent, which is often a factor of death on Arena. So only 1 part of the cold resistance and the divine stalgrim or light Dwemer shield have the right to exist if the opponent uses cold. But the last time I saw sorta like that, it was only used by Shadowblades members

@buoyant mulch id like to propose an easy fix for the ladder manipulation that has been ongoing for a while. What I would propose is that the cancel button be disabled as soon as an opponent is matched with you. The would keep people from canceling matches to match with themselves and also others trying to selectively match specific opponents. This would in theory keep the ladder honest.

On the game issue itself, I tried making a new character via a separate google play account instead of bethnet and found no bugs, I could close and open the game and the UI and character models appears as normal on the start screen

Several newer (not around from early access) are still grinding and crafting for gear. Arena is slower than years ago but it still clearly has activity, more towards Old Arena. Fact might be specific guilds might not be active, find an active guild if not already in one and enjoy what was enjoyable. No actual updates since the heavy saber was added to the event ultimate weapons lineup, which is a sword duplicate of Breathtaker. See you all in arena if I see you.

I started in March of 2019 and it felt so promising back then. If they had made any smart decisions with the game they would’ve continued to attract lots of new players AND made a ton of money, but they seemed to just give up on it.

They could have done a few simple things and given it a chance, game would have been much better….make abyss more interesting like a random generated endless dungeon with secret rooms with chests with an actual reward or trophy at the end instead of as it is now a big fat nothing. Aside from that keep what we had in place already, with the seasonal events and the forsworn/dark seducer/golden saint/ Nordic sigil items, the game really dosen’t need that much..i could look over the bugs and arena lag if they would have just brought that to the game.

A revert update would be great, bring back the unique event shop items that never reappeared such as Dark Seducer and Golden Saint armors, etc.. allow the abyss to drop a random artifact for engagement, etc.. Increase the grand gem drop rate for higher level players (never understood why glorious drop was increased to a major imbalance) because I have no grand gems grinding and 4000+ glorious from grinding. Also, reverting the arena algorithm for more trophies to eliminate one cup gains and restore more cups vs wider gaps for higher ranked victors. All the things listed already exist, or did.

I believe that it is necessary to impose a ban on the trading of trophies, up to and including the removal of a character. As practice shows, a player who is caught playing with himself from several devices and who is asked not to do so does not listen to anyone and continues to take away the rewards earned by players who have spent time and fought honestly for their rewards.

or just block the entrance to the arena for an intruder who doesn't give a damn about fair play.

This has been resolved. The response took a while due to high ticket traffic as reported elsewhere before

The issue was apparently caused by an Ebony Longsword getting misplaced into the shield slot. It got fixed manually by Support, through removing the longsword from the shield slot and putting it into the inventory

The actual cause is not determined, but my guess is spotty mobile connection. Could be that I got disconnected while swapping an item

Anyway, I can properly play the game again. Kudos to Support 👍

Looking back the two most glitch’s that don’t let someone log in are the accidental dual weapons bug and having more than 100 chests of gold, silver, and wood. There is no dual weapons and can’t hold more than 100 of the chests but if it goes that way it locks out accounts. But service has been helpful for anyone I know who had those issues identified.

Personally i would have loved a system that would allow you to change bonus enchants on armors such as a socket sets you find in other games where you install a gem into an armor or weapon piece for bonus secondaries and could change those out in exchange for gems and install/remove what you want on them, and would make grinding for these type of secondary bonus gems much more of a rewarding experience.

Or at the very least a way to remove an enchant from an item that you spent all that gold and tempering materials on to get it to mythical.

People would buy gem packs in the game just to be able to use that freedom to do what they want with their items. The current system is a forced system that is a big turn off to players in my opinion.

And 7 years into the game and still no storage chest.

Nah, bc i use both 2h and versa loadouts. Suddenly 2h loadout worked and it stayed consistent like this as a rule. I got disconnects when swithching to versa+shield midfight as well so just connecting the dots haha 😄😄

What was the sequence of your steps? Did you take the shield off rhe loadout in the first place? Or did it manually? And did yiu add ir manually later or via shield enabled loadout?

-- versa non-shield loadout in R1 and manuall addition of shield in R2 = disconnect after R1

--- Equipping versa+shield loadout and removal of shield manually R1 + donning full loadout R2 = disconnect as well.

I took the shield off manually in town and then went to the arena. I immediately got a match that went through. And then R2 I manually equipped a shield and it didn’t disconnect!

Lite weapons need a shield. No buffs for not using a shield and the block rating is lowest, never intended for not using a shield with lite. I like the idea of lite weapons, but I have mostly versatile weapons. I only have one mythical lite weapon that was a dragonbone mob drop.

From my experiences, I don’t like to run light when lagged out majority of the time. I can’t combo vs high lag illusions with a light weapon even with warlocks. But I have developed to crit a lot at a high rate with versatile weapons. I have collected a nice inventory arsenal of swords, maces, and axes. Fortunately, I have elven armors which makes it so that not using a shield is possible as a mage. But I prefer a shield 99.9% so I look forward to a resolve so shields work again and don’t cause disconnections.

I just tried that stupid old “trick” the Bethesda techs used to have us try when we had problems like this shield bug thing: die to a mob in a job, leave the job, put phone into airplane mode and out again and then try arena again. It didn’t work. 😟

Why not try some odd ball stuff like unequip your shield and then buy a plain non enchanted shield at the smithy and try arena with it, then if it works put your normal shield back on…you just never know

I have actually tried an unenchanted shield and I get the same result. If I put a shield on round 2 still, it dcs my game and I lose almost 50 cups each time so I give up until such time as they fix it. I’m having fun with hex.

I would also log out of game center on your phone then start blades and the game thinks you are starting over and play the prolouge with a new character and then exit and then sign back into game center on your phone and then load up blades and log back into your old character and delete the new one and see what that does.

It’s definitely not the phone bc I have switched Jorni over to the phone I played Hex on and it was the same. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, I have power cycled all of our equipment, put the phone in and out of airplane mode. Hex had the same bug at the beginning but the power cycle and the airplane mode must’ve helped him bc he was fine after that.

I provided sequences and videos with my support request regarding the error code and disconnection issues using a shield with Arena. Clearly, the error code for connection is not literally what is going on. From the escalation team, they have assured me they are working on it and will directly let me know. I have been getting updates as early as the past few days; it is in the works, and thanks for being patient. I wrote this template wanting something easy to follow up with. : I am having a problem with disconnection errors whenever I use a shield for PvP Arena. During matchmaking, it goes through the usual steps… waiting… searching for an opponent… connecting… and setting up… but it doesn’t finish and instead gives an error code. Even if I get into a match, the game disconnects between rounds when I’m using a shield. Can you please help me resolve this error?

I just use dwilite shields and then I can high block stun them bc they all think they have carte Blanche to hit whenever they want! It’s so naughty! YOU’RE too smart for that strategy but a lot of players get cocky.

I still run into them sometimes, dragonplate shields are great against heavy weapons also to absorb damage, but yeah they switch shields and i switch weapons

No legendary chests are best option for gems and also better materials and a chance at an artifact, best bang for your buck, you get 4000 gems on purchase which should cover anything you want. If i was to guess i would say you are looking at around 1000-1500 gems to purchase this decoration unless they make you purchase the pack it comes with instead.

From time to time when someone wants something specific such as you can purchase an emote for another player if you have the gems and some basic things. We used to be able to purchase artifacts back in the day, now we can’t those where the days…..

And your right its the best first person RPG out there and the arena is the best also, i will say Blades has the best UI of any mobile i have seen, so i have always been attached to it. There is also a very deep learning process with this game that keeps you creating and trying new things.

Health regen gear is best for PVE exploring and events. That being said the goblins are the worst so what you need to do is cast Ward asap and then cast resist elements then get to fighting and keep your health full after each fight. Shock weapons and nullifying weapons are good as well as breaching, frost works on the goblins, poison works on the necros also. Some of the enemies you can run by.

Arena and PVE play is very different, stamina or magica gear or elemental is best in the arena because health is tripled in the arena however health regen does not from vampire enchantments so you are better off without health regen gear, but some players can make it work.

Experience level 50 and town level 10 are the thresholds. Town ends at level 10. All the skill points and skills unlock at xp 50 but you can keep leveling up to 100 but no more skill points are added.

I’d buy them at lvl 49 because you will get a boatload of grand soul gems and you’re in range for Warlocks ring. That will get you enchanting like crazy. Once you hit 50 you get glorious soul gems and you’ll get so many of them you’ll never use them all.

Elder Scrolls Blades remains a favorite of mine. I first got into Blades because I liked seeing the first person view in Doom. The devs made a strong new title in Blades after the chest timer problems were fixed. After the arena reset update came out and the sigil shop became a steady feature, the bones of Blades still worked as a great base. I hope there is a revival of some kind. The dungeons, castles, forests, and caves are still filled with lively mobs. The arena is also still active, although not as full as before when you climb higher. Hopeful and thankful.

Hey so why isnt there the option to restart with a new character. Seems like a pretty glaring oversight.

There is a work around, simply log out of game center on your phone and then start the game..it will see you as a new character and start the game over, go through the prologue to where you select what kind of character you are and then exit the game. Now log back into game center and restart the game, on app opening screen it will ask you if you want to keep your new character or delete the old one. Delete the old character and viola you have just started the game over with a new character.

OK so. You need a Bethesda account previously not linked with the game. Get the app on a different device, log in after character creation (make the character you want to play on your switch this time!) And then log into the Bethesda account on your switch. It will give you the option to pick which character you want to keep and which one to delete.

I don’t use Switch but some people got that to work that way.

The in-game Armor and Shields help file states "Block Rating reduces elemental damage, but not as well as physical damage." and "Armor Rating has no effect on elemental damage." Does this mean a shield's Block Rating inherently blocks elemental damage (when blocking) outside of both piece bonuses (such as Frost for Stalhrim) and the Elemental Protection perk?

Best advice i can give is to join the Blades GG discord server and find a good guild, they will tell you everything you need to know about the game.
As to answer your question the short answer is yes light shields block elemental damage that are native to it’s resistance. Heavy shields have higher physical damage block rating but no extra elemental protection. Elemental protection perk will add to the elemental resistance of the shield outside of the extra resistance gained from armor types.

I've opened hundreds the last couple of days wanting to get Onyx Cleaver and Onyx Saber and all I get now after getting spellbreaker(for the millionth time which i put in inventory) is stalhrim and ebony shields where an artifact should be. Hello, so I understand that Blades will be shutdown indefinitely which saddens me deeply. I'd like to ask? If everyone's character would be maxed out to the highest level? And if it is possible to have an offline patch?

I'm unsure if the team understands how many people actually love this game. It's free, it's a fun game to play whilst on public transport and well in general. So please. I've only been able to enjoy this game for a short period of time considering my starting date on the game. I've recently gotten a somewhat okay phone and I've been able to play it. So please, bring an offline renewal to the game.

The people still love this game. Despite it being short-lived. It was so fun. I'll happily write a petition to request an offline mode.

Mind you, I can freely play games on my PC and whatnot yes, or I could get a Steam deck or rog to play these games on the go. But Blades has a weirdly nice feeling to it whilst out and about lol

Blades has been a great game to play. At first it's all about the grind of getting material to build your town, playing main quests, leveling up, etc, plus all the fights and weapons/armor making.
But the best part has been playing in the Arena, and being part of a Guild.
This is the highlight of Blades.

Castles has a Fallout Mobile style mode and merges the Elder Scrolls games.
You choose who will rule the kingdom. To ensure sufficient daily resources, you need to build a kitchen and an oil-gathering room. Later, you can expand your rooms and choose and place whatever you want. It consists of a kingdom and workers. Unlike other Elder Scrolls games, you can any mix species or you choose. You can decide whom to marry. Later, you'll face stages against enemies that you can defeat. There are some important events in the game. You need to prepare better in advance for this moment. Many choices must be made fairly in this kingdom, otherwise, the king's rule won't last long. The game isn't bad it's suitable for mobile devices to pass the time when you're bored.

Blades was imo one of the better mobile games out there. Sure, there was a bit of a typical grind for resources - and construction time in the town - but it had an actual story, several (minor) questlines, new lore tidbits for armor and the like, and the combat was actually pretty in-depth for a mobile title.

I still pity there never was a PC port of the game.
