Except I got to him at Level 107, the other 3 henchman were Raider Warchiefs (I installed the Deadly Commonwealth mod, after patching and fixing it)
... I killed Shinjin, 2 Warchiefs, and the third turned him into green goo while I was still in VATS at Perception 13... He's gonna die no matter what 😄

I really wish Besthesda would fix Fallout 4 VR, maybe even recompile it in Creation 2. It looks so fun but according to all of the reveiws it's a broken mess.

Not according to Steam reviews and forums and apparently the game doesn't even have the dlc included but you can mod it in if you own base version of F4. I guess they assumed everyone who bought the vr version already owned the original? That's not an inaccurate assumption, just kinda feels a bit scummy to essentially force people to buy 2 games just to play the dlc for one of them. Honestly I wish Bethesda would put as much care into Fallout as they do TES, I would love a Fallout 4 Special Edition that comes with cc content and a bunch of bug fixes.

making a vr version is non trivial and required resources to make if it was sold for less then 4 people would have access to fallout 4s data files for cheaper it id a seperat egame with alot of changes your not forced to buy anything fallout 4 vr is fallout 4 in vr without the dlc it wasnt meant to work with the dlc

That doesn't excuse the fact that it should have been better. There's no reason it couldn't have included the dlc, especially for $60. Yeah, they did something that the engine was not orginally designed to do but so do modders and that's without the source code. Why do we have to rely on modders to fix Beth's games?

The vanilla version works okay enough but definitely look into mods that fix bugs and quality of life mods. It's honestly a lot of hoops you have to jump through but it will make a way better experience if you put enough effort into modding. You definitely have to look at what mods play well together and read a lot of forum posts.

Nope, I only used console commands when absolutely necessary and this was before I starting modding the game. I am very aware that you should never unistall or install mods on an existing save. So to start for the unmarked quest in automatron (not really severe) you can't leave the general atomics factory before you complete that quest or it breaks it and makes it unable to complete and it also will play the vo in every single "dungeon" area thereafter. Also in the same dlc there is a bug where the typing robo brains can make it impossible to access the terminal to shut down mechanist's robots causing a softlock and forcing you to either have to reload a save or use the console command to turn clipping off. As for nuka world I experienced a lot of ctds I tried verifing the game files, completely reinstalling to no avail. Also, there's a bug that if you go to the theater before going to the other areas in the main quest it can break the triggers for the quest and one of the quest steps won't complete thus causing a hard lock unless you have a save that is before you went into the theater.

There's probably more but those are the ones I personally encountered.

What i do, and i think you need all or some DLC, plus idk if u know about it, but ik if you get max rank of strong back, you can become over encumbered and still fast travel, so what I do is clear a dungeon out, loot everything, then go back to my main settlement or base and scrap it all

Max rank of strong back works differently on Survival tho, i think it makes it so you dont take damage when overweight

Thats how i get TONS of junk for crafting, and weapons and armor for my settlers too

I really hope if Bethesda is planning updating FO4 to visual sudio 2019 also they make a new steam listing for it, maybe call it enhanced edition or something and fix a lot of the game breaking bugs especially with the dlcs and (wishful thinking) add the co-op dlc that became FO76 instead. Also add some cc content. I'd pay $60 for all of those things to be added. I just really don't want a random update like FO3 got because a ton of mods would be broken and I don't feel like waiting months just to play the game again and nor would I want to start a new game just to play vanilla.

It spawns in another version of Preston Garvey called "Piston Gravy" who, as soon as there's a settlement that needs your help will run towards you with insane movement speed, even at the start of the game 200 years before Preston comes into existence and long before you become Minuteman general and if you don't help the settlement in 5 IRL minutes he zooms back to beat you to death with a broken laser musket. He speaks only in sped up Preston Garvey voicelines or the voicelines have all the pauses removed.

Also, that explains why it says there's new conversations in a lot of channels but there's nothing new there. These bots won't give up, huh?

Kinda both. Since he's a glowing one he has certain abilities that basically are just magic.

Glowing ones are capable of emitting radiation at will which has two real effects, it heals ghouls and harms humans. Oswald also seems to be able to use this to command ferals somehow.
We don't know if that's something unique to him since there's only two sentient glowing ones and Oswald is the only one that intentionally surrounds himself with ferals after taking an offensive stance.

You CAN fight Jason Bright but all the ghouls around him are non feral.

Oswald does clearly use his knowledge of the park, an assortment of props like smoke bombs and the the art of misdirection to get away multiple times. So I don't think he can really teleport as far as lore is concerned (mechanically he does teleport but so does every other npc)

I will say that according to his journals Oswald does seem to think he can use real magic now but honestly from his limited knowledge there's really no difference.

But i assume that changes You mentioned will only be available in Anniversary Edition of Skyrim (for Skyrim as an example), because of: otherwise there is no reason for CC content not to start it's quest immediately after first boot if it is the only one new addition, else: when you have all 74 Creations starting at the same time it might become very annoying (i have 5 and it is already not very comfortable) - so they will adjust creations to start separately (probably somehow connected to the character's level) only when bundled in AE altogether.

Does anybody ever get that feeling of when you're never satisfied with a character you make, in either Fallout 4, 76 or in any of the Elder Scrolls games?

Even if it's just over the most minor of details?

Right now, I'm kind of dealing with that feeling with a female character I made in Fallout 4 - I spent a week during any free time, going over all of the face presets and the different styles with which I could make with the various facial features

And when it came down to it, I found that face preset 7 was the best preset to start with

And, from what I could gather with facial features:

Eyes - Prominent 2

Nose - Pretty 2

Mouth - Smirk 2

Ears - Average 2

Eyebrows - Thin Arched

With these features combined with preset 7, I thought I had something perfect - but now I am unsure if I should keep Smirk 2, or possibly upgrade to Full Pout 2

I am not ashamed to admit that I even resorted to going to sites pertaining to women's fashion and style, looking through articles discussing lip shapes and stuff because I wanted to see what was "hip" today

Now... well, I haven't deleted the character - body shape wise, I think I hit the mark with this character, and I don't want to trash that.

I guess I am more or less at a loss when it comes to mouth types - I could keep Smirk 2, or maybe change to Full Pout 2 or... well, I don't know.

That happens to me in all roleplaying games that allow us to create our own character appearances. I recently re-started a character in Kingdoms of Amalur because the eyebrow color wasn't exactly right, lol. It was a small thing, but it bothered me. I'd only done a couple of levels at that point, so I just started over.

Well, I'm about 21 levels in with my character (named her Olivia Smith btw, using data from SSA, Census, etc., where in Olivia was the most popular name of 2020-2021, and Smith is the most commonly prevalent last name in the US in 2021), thanks largely to an exploit-bug where I leveled up to 20 in like an hour. Haven't done much yet besides visit the few locations outside of Sanctuary Hills, and my goal is to level up to at least 50 and do Nuka World before I even go to Concord so I can get all the perks & stuff I want from the DLC and still be able to get Preston as a follower.

My issue solely lies with mouth shape - believe it or not, I meticulously counted to get to "10" with the various facial morphers & sliders, 10 being the "norm" or "perfect balance" between 0 and 20

So, in that regard, almost every part of her face, from the size & length of her important facial features to the width & such of her lesser features, is set perfectly at 10

Maybe I ought to get some pictures and see if I can post them on the screenshots & videos section, perhaps to gauge the discord users

Because Fallout 4 even after all these years still has a lot of mission bugs. The Witcher 3 which is from another producer received several fixes over the years which improved the game even more. Fallout 4 is a good game, it's just not better because the bugs get in the way.

TL;DR - I rescued Preston and his crew at the Museum of Freedom, and they're in Sanctuary Hills right now, but I haven't spoken to him yet and the quest "When Freedom Calls" or whatever is still active

I usually did my best to avoid Concord so I could do the DLC before meeting them, but I got too close and started hearing gunfire, and I just knew I couldn't just ignore it, so I went in to help them

I remember reading somewhere that as long as he doesn't try to force the General title on you, then you should be in the clear and be able to complete the DLC and still get Preston as a follower

I just want him as a follower for his perk alone, is all.

I know that feeling, hitting a mirelurk well over 40 times with a super sledge and getting nowhere. Melee requires stupid high stats later on, unlike stuff like the laser musket where you can do respectable damage even with no points in the Rifleman perk.

Do the exploits, increase Strength beyond 10, become a mountain of flesh and muscle. Really though, melee is so annoying at times since deathclaws love to cheat and get grabby while Mirelurks are just spongy as heck.

Best plan of action:

1. Don't go to Concord

2. Level up to 30, or 50 if you want to really get prepped for Nuka World

3. Do the Nuka World DLC, all the way up to finishing the DLC and I guess for however long it takes to get Aeternus

4. Once you get Aeternus, complete "Open Season" for Mackenzie.

If everything works as it should, you'll be able to get 1-2 of the 3 raider gang perks, Porter Gage's companion perk, Aeternus and any other nice legendary weapon and what not

Hi in Kendall hospital there is a cage elevator. And the first time I ever played Fallout 4 I remember getting inside it and riding it down until it collapsed at the bottom of the building.

Every subsequent play through of Fallout 4 when doing kendall hospital when entering that large area has shown the cage elevator at the bottom of the building. Am I remembering wrong is there a way to call the elevator back up I don't see a button anywhere.

I recently got an Xbox Series X and I cant even get within 5 uGrids of Faneuil Hall without crashing to the dashboard. FPS boost on or off, doesnt matter. Mods installed or clean install without any mods, doesn't matter.

The minute it can render anything in that area, instant crash.

Downtown needs to be redone. Previs, precombines, all of it. If ever there is a remaster done on FO4, that is the first thing that needs to be done.

Maybe even the only thing. Its made FO4 unplayable since I cant go into that area of downtown to do anything (Old North Church is quite close, so... railroad? Not too likely)

You go further into the area, like Haymarket Mall, faneuil Hall, Mass Bay Med, anything in that triangle, its ... instand CTD (on next-gen console anyways).

Even the AIO FPS fix mod doesn't sort it. I thought about ripping it all apart and rebuilding it, but the work that would take is ... prohibitive for one person. So... I pray to the almight Todd that one day, the team in Austin with put FO76 aside for a few weeks and fix our beloved single player offering.

It is specificm for me, to that exact triangle of space. Being a mod author of no small skill (humble, I know 🙄 ), Ive looked into the issue extensively in the CK and can see where its borked and what needs to be done to fix it, its just a LOT.

I was thinking that too... that perhaps the newer consoles are too powerful for the engine. But... Skyrim doesn't falter.

My PC version of FO4 never crashes in that area though, so I just dont know. Its perplexing. But... on PC we can remove CC content that is auto-downloaded, not so on Xbox, and that could also be an issue (as it is known to be one on PC).

Might be easy for him to add a food weight UI element that shows much much hunger it will remove. Even 76 does this, kind of... it will show on your hunger bar how much of it a given item, if eaten, will replenish.

Might not be too hard to do for him.

I honestly haven’t considered this. I put food degradation on the back burner while I resolve the Ammo Weight System. Currently, I have full dynamic ammo weight working both in UI and in-game. This system includes new Legendary Armor Attachments that mirrors almost 1:1 FO76’s Reduced Ammo Weight Mod Attachment.

More random encounters with named NPCs, who have short stories, short interactions, short quests to give, or point the player towards. Essentially, more content. We mod authors can add that in, yes, but as a single dev, its an aweful lot of work... Gun For Hire took me, working alone (and then getting the 12 voice actors after the mod was done), roughly eight months.

But anyways... yes, more content. Doesn't have to be DLC sized, just ... more random one-offs.

My latest mod adds Fallout 76's CAMP to Fallout 4 and it works extremely well in Far Harbor - been doing a Far Harbor at level 1 challenge for the last couple of days with my CAMP as my homebase. Works flawlessly.

But I agree and was saying the same thing to myself last night... Far Harbor is RIPE for some good quest mods. Big ones. Gave me some ideas, lol.

Hi , new guy to the discord here! So I joined mostly because im having a number of issues on my xbox one with my fallout 4 game. I’m sure this has come up before judging by my googling, but after exiting my power armour, the pip boy will no longer display when i am not in the power armour. I reloaded to just before i got in and i can recreate the problem over and over, it doesn’t seem like it’s not going to be an issue moving forward. Im on survival mode, im lv 31 and about to head to the glowing see once i get my ducks in a row, so I’ll be needing the power armour.

Any ideas how i can fix this?

You get 150 mods and have 2gb of space on console. Operation Could Not Be Completed occurs if you've gone over the limit. The website keeps up with GiB and not GB so you could be over without realizing it. There's about ~30mb or so difference between 2gb and the equivalent GiB.

Operation Could Not Be Completed usually occurs if you've downloaded a mod of the same name. The in-game manager will delete both plugins but keep textures/script archives. Skyrim people call this 'ghost space'; however there is data still there taking up your 2gb space. In order to fix this issue, you have to find the mod that created it and re-download it, then delete it properly before downloading the other. You can also clear your reserve and clear your cache to fix the issue and re-download.

(PC players can watch this occurrence by downloading a mod off Nexus, and then downloading the same mod from Bethesda.net in game manager.)
