Just arrived to the discord server, has anybody else encountered the following issue? I can enter the creations menu on the Xbox console but no controller input is accepted in the menu apart from LT, sticks, and D-pad. I read online about similar but not identical issues having been fixed by performing a hard reset and deleting the reserved space. These further complicated things as of course I need to be able to access load order in the creations menu in order to redownload the creations.

And yet, when I play the game on a different device with cloud gaming enabled then there's no issue present at all and the same creations are installed per the load order.

Scrap mods is playing with fire. Better to just use a mod that alters the settlement for you so you don't need to use them. There are some mods out there that fix the sanctuary bridge included within their settlement mod. Like clean and simple. But, also be aware sometimes the bridge may look fixed, but its not navmeshed.

There is a all in one clean and simple collection if you desire. Or just install individual ones for each settlement.
Limiting use of scrap mods is still inevitably playing with fire. One harmless looking bush can be attached to a major chain of precombines and next thing you know, textures flickering, glitching and invisible walls and floors. I've broken about 8 games over the years because of scrap mods. Never again!

If you were looking to restore the bridge, but want a clean sanctuary AND red rocket, try clean and simple sanctuary & red rocket startup. It includes fixed and navmeshed bridge. There is a post war and prewar version depending on your taste.

fallout 4 ... etc needs to be able to mark one quest as focus, so while a handful of quests are active on compass/radar in green, the active one is red color. Then when done, can toggle another active quest as the single focus.

So often, in a building etc, and all these things active on compass including the door leading outside, want to be able to see and differentiate the one quest target that you're in the building or area to achieve.

Example, if you're out doing 5 bounties, you'll have them active, but toggle one of them as the next focus, and get to work without the compass noise. That will be the red one.

Such a simple QoL UI solution.

I can see your points and what you like for sure. I can't say i'm of the same opinion, personally, that side of it i don't really like more than the other. Fallout 4 is the only fallout game i refuse to uninstall from my PC.

Oh for sure, they are pressured now more than ever to be pumping out Fallout content and I know it won't be abandoned. I was just reminiscing on how much more customer driven they used to be and how the bar hasn't been that high in a long time. When you think back to Fallout Day last year, all the disappointments and inflated expectations aside, the 100gb console mod space was really the most anticipated and hyped announcement. F4 doesn't have a groundbreaking story and it was never going for it. Knowing nothing about the story, building up your settlements, while the institute is lurking about, was great. It was mysterious. Sure, the story with shawn and always having to save your kid was bad, but everything else is soooo good. Atmosphere, companions and bethesda magic as cherry on top.
Nah, whoever says fallout 4 is bad, I just can't take serious, as it's a sandbox game if you want, do whatever you want. Creativity and mod space is your limit.

My longterm playthrough started last year October before I even knew AE was coming out, my playthrough has changed in ways I could never expect thanks to the new paid creations. And my game will continue to change in unexpected ways because you never know what awesome mod comes next. Nah, you won't get this experience on any other games company.

Vanilla has great fundamentals, without them, there wouldn't be certain mods. Leaving stuff up for modders is genius, everyone has their own preferences

Yeah some of the lore complaints kinda feel more like nitpicking than genuine issues. I think more people felt it was a more shallower RPG than previous games and it relied too much on the radiant quest system.

But if you treat it as more of an action/adventure game with some RPG elements mixed in, you understand why some of these things were implemented and changed from the previous formula.

Having played it mostly around launch it needed some of the more handcrafted locations the ones it did have were great absolutely adore neon and the freestar collective bar just wish there were more places that felt unique

The best way I can explain it is looking at far Harbour aside from the retrieving dimas memories quest the whole area just feels fantastic even on 2nd or later playthroughs

Todd Howard did an interview where he directly talked about the update. He explained that the fear is breaking everyone's load orders and save games to set everyone back to 0 which nobody wants. The short answer is everyone complained about how every time they update something things break and so they said "cool, we won't update until we can confirm it won't break" and now we are here

My understanding is that the partition on your hard drive that contains your saves would first have to be deleted in order to create a new, larger partition. Deleting the existing partition will delete any mods in that partition.

That's basically how Carto described it 3 years ago. It's a partition on the drive and it has to be deleted and replaced in order to expand it. That's just part of how Windows itself works.

Deleting the partition means all your mods AND saves will be gone, and they can't do this in any other way than an official game update which would go to everyone whether they want it or not.

ok so when I enter/exit a building, usually on the first loading screen it loads fine, then usually on the second loading screen (when entering/exiting) the screen stays black but I here the music and the loading icon is still moving but it takes anywhere from 2-3 minutes to load. after that, when entering/exiting a building, the loading screen takes over 5 minutes (or doesn't load at all). usually I ALT+tab and stop the game. is anyone else having this problem? I've had a ticket with bethesda for over a week and tried everything they suggested, which concerns my system, but nothing has worked. it loads fine when loading a saved game or fast travel, just on entering/exiting buildings and such

Anniversary Edition player, just finished first time through to Main Quest ending for Minutemen victory, weaved my way around content to get Blind Betrayal (Danse perk) so that by now am level 105. Can honestly say it's been he11 of a ride, and probably the GOAT ever, a title that was SWG's (thru Legends ultimately). Only diff is that SWG was MMO, and wish FO4 had at least multiplayer scaling for 2 players at least. But sure was amazing game experience to get main quest done to finale.

Few points.

Bugs galore, if not for console commands and restore from saves, would not have reached the finale (with Blind Betrayal, Danse perk), and really came close to quitting due to complicated main story faction pathing restrictions but loaded up earlier saves and got it resolved finally. Still facing similar complicated path on Nuka main questing, and having to pace and manage save game files to be sure to be able to "back up to earlier saves" if needed. Adding ability to custom name save files would help, since the end story results path is important part of gaming experience to me anyway. That endings with the desired outcomes seem overly complicated even with amazing player community of guides/video support.

Similarly, Far Harbor had bad experience of main story outcome where had no choice but to destroy Children of Atom, and didn't try to go back to old save points because would have had to gone back like 40 level ups if I could even find it, because main story was trashed by Radiant quest sending me there ages ago and unbeknownst to me, killing the seemingly random Children of Atom when passing through for Radiant destroyed the main story options for much later when came back to do Far Harbor content.

Also, the game could scale better, still have a lot of content ahead, and at this point its "point and one-shot" enemies at level 105, their heads just fly off time and again, so while the experience and stories are enjoyable, there's little challenge at this point.

I've lost two saves and load orders in the last two days. It seems to have happened after I bought a couple extra creation club content pieces beyond what I already had in the bundle.

Today what happened is my save was stable, and I had about 1.5/2 GB used on mods. I downloaded a few extra outfits, and suddenly my game would not load at all. It would crash from the Please Stand By screen every time.

I think, thought I can't be sure, that it's possible that getting close to the 2GB mod limit while also having extra CC content causes you to overload the partition? Regardless of what it is, my anger is thermonuclear, as I really don't think I did anything wrong or reckless

My saves started bugging over time, and at the time searching for answers found info that the game (PC version anyway) required clearing of the save folder to reduce number of files in the folder, so created an archive folder and from time to time would transfer all files to the archive other than say the last 4 or 5 saves. Since doing that periodic clean up, haven't had a problem since.

I guess my solution is to bookmark absolutely every single mod I use, and then write down a load order somewhere. When this crash on startup thing has happened, the only fix has been clearing the 2GB saved data. If all my mods are bookmarked, at the very least I can rebuild a load order in like 15 minutes instead of 2 hours

I'm on Series X, so anything PC specific won't work 🙁

I have the day off today and was hoping for some nice relaxing settlement building instead of spending all morning in the menus.
