Not one crash, no major issues.
Small graphical bugs a few times , but restarting the console fixes it.
I'm loving this version of the game, had almost 5k hours on ps4 version, constant crashes and numerous bugs.

Yeah I’ve been having that same problem on pc. I’ve been recording my hardware data, and nothing is spiking or freaking out. It’s definitely some kind of bug that’s causing a script the crash the question is which one.

There might be some way to roll back the update on PlayStation. You can roll back updates with some launchers on PC but not steam unless you do some janky duck tape and coat hangers crap.

Almost like the game is balanced and the mod breaks that balance. I've been there, when I had a gaming PC, and "fertilizer" does make sense for the leaf piles and the dirt mounds, but it does break the balance of the game. I mean, Jet production was already kinda broken when you're buying shipments of fertilizer. You're not making as much, but the XP makes it worth it.

I love the idea of scrap mods, but the game is always worse for having them. Firstly because of the balance, like you've seen. But also because half the time, scrap isn't just there to make the area look bad, it's to cover up jagged edges in other textures, or worse, holes in the world map. That one property in the northeast with the cave is really good for this, scrap the wrong thing and now you have a huge mess on your hands. I kinda wish in the 8-9 years since the game came out, someone would have made a "smart" scrapping mod that one, respects balance; and two, doesn't scrap anything that would make you wanna reload a previous save. Like all scraps would be safe. Thus, it wouldn't let you scrap a lot of stuff you'd (think you) want to.

Yeah they auto-scrap. But i'm in the process of getting all the settlements and often run short on materials for the reactor+radio. And tryin to setup the supply line from the new settlement.

So I stick to visual upgrades, and QoL mods.

Like, if a mod adds some gun, and you have it, in your inventory, uninstall the mod, and load that save-game

Its an issue with share system with ps5. Also not a problem with some but definately wide enough to cause more problems. Reinstalling third time bricked my console after the initiation bug where it freezes a ps5 to the ”please stand by” screen. It is a component issue and i have a solution. More i wont disclose for the reason of spite towards bethesda. They need to learn.

It is. But its more becuase of components instead of code. Neither can solve it alone but theres a workaround in case of brick. And no, these are not the methods suggested by neither as they are oblivious to their own hardware and software. Not first time players solve their problems.

Serious question; if the main reason Fallout 4 on Xbox/PlayStation can’t have the mod space increased is because it would erase people’s saves, then wouldn’t releasing a new edition of Fallout 4 be a viable solution? Given how well Fallout is doing right now and how well the many editions of Skyrim have sold, it shouldn’t be too big of a risk financially. Heck next year is Fallout 4’s 10 year anniversary, releasing an Anniversary edition with increased mod space would be awesome. As for how well such a release would sell? How many releases of Skyrim have people bought?

That would make sense if it wasn’t for Creation Club. Those are essentially required mods (they are stored on your Xbox even if you don’t buy them) that don’t count towards the storage limit.

Actually no, CC content goes into your Xbox's mods folder, clearing the reserved space also uninstalls CC mods.

This update is trash, since update I haven't been able to play because it keeps being stuck on loading screen, un-installed and reinstalled and still having the same issue. Been having all these problems since this update on PC. Kind of frustrating and Noone has a solution to help and stuff you find on the Internet don't work. It's so dumb!

So an “Anniversary” might be able to have a larger mod space then. From what I could find, which I wouldn’t call official, is that Microsoft denied increasing the mod space because it would erase people’s saves. A new release wouldn’t have that issue.

Holy crap I just had micro heart attack I was talking to one of the proctors aboard the prydwen and the game froze on me, but didn’t do the normal crash sound where it repeats the same frame of audio over and over and then I went to reload. My game didn’t start. It said it took too long to load and then I restart it again. It worked scared the heck out of me.

The issue is/was save files, not mods as far as I could find. They didn’t want people who don’t even use mods to also lose their saves because of a storage increase. Not sure why that would happen but programming is crazy.

Played the new update on Series X for a while. Put it in performance mode (idc about quality, it looks good to me, been gaming since Pong/Atari) and it freezes every few seconds, for like half a second the game won't respond to anything. It's kind of annoying. Hopefully they fix it.

Seems like the 2GB mod limit is removed. The mod limit appears to be several billion bytes in the negative... another thing they might wanna fix (I suspect it's the capacity of the game's drive... odd that the 2TB Xbox One S had a 2GB mod limit, but the 1TB Series X has no limit (beyond what you have left on the drive).

Got all three chapters of Sim Settlements 2 installed, going to enjoy playing through that. I cheesed my way through Chapter 2 on PC when I had that to get through the story... no way was I spending dozens of hours to rebuild the ||Gunners HQ||. Though, taking it was a lot of fun. I'm not even worried about the main quest/factions in the game. Though IIRC SS2 plays very well with all of them. The Stranger/||Jake|| does ask you to help the Minutemen in Concord, but your only objective is to clear Concord of hostiles; after you take the Power Armor, there's no reason to ever go back into the Museum, unless you want to work with them. You can just leave them in there safely, they never actually tell you to come back to them, and they don't talk about wanting to go to Sanctuary until you do. (Still, if you're going to mess with Minutemen, Starlight Drive-In is a far better settlement for SS2 to be your base of operations, just due to its size and openness, clear the cars and whatnot and you can just make blocks of plots between the building and the screen.)

I have my Minutemen in my HC set up a deal with the BoS, whatever high tech stuff they have for less tech stuff from the brotherhood, rather than having a company be made up 1/2 laser musket and 1/2 pipe weaponry, it’s 1/1 combat rifle with a good amount of shotguns for specific units in a squad by squad Badis with officers using sub machine guns to encourage aggressive action. As well as some heavy units with T-45s, mini guns, missile launchers, and assault rifles.

im having a annoying issue with the army armor paint and the riley pipboy paint from the creation club. i first noticed the problem when i was looking through the creation club menu when the next gen update came out but i noticed that two item said they were installed that being the army armor paint and the riley pipboy paint, the two in question aren't showing up in game, and their .esl files are not their either i have uninstalled these two before via deleting the .esl files and i was able to redownload them and use again so i left them uninstalled but when the next gen update launched it pretty much locked me out of downloading the two saying "owned" not download. i have tried uninstalling the game, and verifying the game cache through steam. the last thing i haven't tried is to down a clean uninstall and reinstall of fallout 4 i don't know what else to do so can anyone help me please. i have already submitted a ticket to bethesda about a week ago and no one have gotten back to me.

Long story short I'm trying to enjoy fallout 4 survival but I have died about 8 times in the Concord area by walking, sometimes around physic objects sometimes on stairs. Not a huge deal but the time wasted was frustrating to the max as my free time is limited.

Hold on. No he doesn't. I mean yes, there is the "take the castle" quest, but you have to explicitly tell him to do it. You can shut it down, IIRC. And when the quest is done, he returns to Sanctuary by default. I know, because I like him at the Castle, out of my face. I like him even better now, still stuck in Concord (talk to him in the Museum, get the Power Armor, but never reenter the Museum). The game accounts for this! When Blake Abernathy talks about needing the Minutemen back, he knows Preston isn't with you, so he asks you where he is. You say he's in Concord dealing with issues, and Abernathy says "oh so he's still fighting the good fight." I like that dialogue, because you know who else "fights the good fight"? Three Dog. I feel like Blake Abernathy heard Three Dog's broadcast somehow. Or maybe it's just a reference. Either way, you don't have to take the Minutemen to Sanctuary. (I'm actually working with The Stranger from Sim Settlements 2. His quest line is like the Minutemen, but way better. That mod's quests and mechanics build upon the Minutemen systems, and can work without them, or alongside them.)

Stat wise i would say max affinity Curie, followed by robot companions and human companions (I like to bring piper, she can take care of low lvl enemies whike i focus on bosses). Dogmeat is good vs humanoids because of the special attacks but his utility ends there (He isnt bulky enough vs high level enemies and he tends to get in the way). Danse might be at the same lvl of Curie but you cant get him as soon as the other companions.

It does, yeah. Her pistol doesnt look like much but its fast enough to take down weak enemies before they can hit my main character. And Piper is bulky enough to tank human bosses for a bit.

The Castle had a few missed opportunities. Like I'm pretty sure, no actual vendors stop there on their route. Considering how far it is from everything, that makes sense, but it also makes it hard to build up the area. That's why I like going the Sim Settlements 2 way. You can make Preston the mayor and let SS2 build up the settlement. It actually does a good job, builds shops and whatnot... last time I used it though, shops didn't actually work (no one mans them) in SS2, maybe they fixed it in the last couple years. But really, the Castle should be a trade empire that should attract people. And it really doesn't.

I always liked the fact that you had to fix the walls, i like the settlement but its not practical for survival (It probably is for exploring the southern parts of the map, but there isnt much around there)

I wish you could actually fix the walls without mods or glitches. Like over time you should be able to fix it. I like to be somewhat lore friendly with my builds, so I don't try to make the walls perfect. I recall I stuck a guard post in one. I don't recall what I did with the other side.

Hangman Alley is a great area and it's easily defended (guard posts + turrets on the 2 ends, never unchain the door in the middle) but yeah, hard to grow crops there for survival... good proximity to Diamond City though. Graygarden is just kinda meh to me, I prefer Sunshine Tidings

For my experience if the game is resume in the main menu or mod menu, we get a This operation can no be complete or the game crash, still the page is bug, just show 5 (I think), mods in library, and 15 in favorites. The worse error is, some mods going to get users to be kick out to main menu, in my case is Hazmat Suit Improved, no be able to installed do being kick out every time I try to open the mod.

Loaded up the game and it said CC can't connect to Bethesda servers. So i thought yes! No CC. Started up a new game. Got out the vault and what pops up...All the damn free CC content for Enclave ect 😑 It is literally baked into the game rather than the reserved space.

I mostly go with graygarden because its also near most areas, you have a ton of space for crops and 6 "free" workers that dont need food/water/beds. Also, i like robots haha. The overpass with nice views of boston and surrounding areas is a plus.

Well one of the slowest but most sure way of checking which mods are causing the crashing is by turning them on one by one or batch by batch and testing the game, it's slow but it helps you pin point the conflicts

Same never have a crash, well one here or there but the normal for a fallout game, my crash problems start with the update to the CC 3 years ago. For this update, I accidentally delete the game so I have to download and istall all over again, I write my LO, so I was able to install almost all my old mods again. Is one that still no wan to install but just just a texture. I have now 1 and a halve hours no crash so far, and the metal textures look fine, that was a bug, that all metal look dark.

they are called a fusion generator (at least according to the workshop DLC that lets you build them), you can also just buy them (gatling laser uses them) or you can kill sentry bots for them

once you figure out how to obtain them easily, they come along quickly, and if you have the dlc that lets you build cages, you can just farm sentries for fusion cores and ammo (make sure you know how to use conveyor belts), actually take this idea with a grain of salt i dont remember if you can farm robots for sentries like this.

Each zone in the Commonwealth has a minimum and maximum enemy level.

It scales to your level and will only give you enemies equal or less that the level of your sole survivor.

I went with a Mac this time. I don't like what the GPU prices have done, and they aren't coming down. So I'm fine gaming on an Xbox.

But yes, I was tentatively looking at 12/13 gen i5 and 4060 or4070. I have a 1440p monitor that can do 144Hz, so I think I'd have been able to get similar. But, I'm fine with 4K60 on Xbox, though my TV is doing something to get it to 4K120 (obviously not as good as the hardware rendering it at that).

Actually Fallout 4 has been giving me a headache on Xbox lately... so maybe it's not so fine. Plenty of games, including Starfield, look great on this Xbox (Series X) and TV, so it's not my setup, although it's clearly not what a solid gaming PC can do.

Anyone know how to fix certain parts of the map in fallout 4 GOTY that aren't rendering? for example Diamond city for me when i walk in looks all messed up and not rending. I am playing on windows 11 PC with a 13th gen Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-13700kf, and a Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070, with 32 GB's of RAM on a 4k 144fps monitor playing on high settings, although it runs fine on ultra so far minus the random issues of the map not rendering. Yeah understand - I'd been sitting on an older GPU till the 4070 Supers came out - their pricing is much better than its been for a long time. Still higher than it was back in the day, but the performance is really really nice. Playing at a stable 100FPS+ in the latest games is a really nice experience - buttery smooth animation. I'm spoiled now though - 60 just feels bad by comparison (my monitor is 240Hz, but tbh once over 100 I can't really tell the difference (60 to 100 though definitely can - its much easier on my eyes)

That's not how it's supposed to be. The load order exists because some mods need to be in specific spots, generally explained in the mod description. But yeah, head over to the mods channel before we get scolded!

Some mods auto sort themselves to the bottom or top,unless the mod description says where it hsould go on console, I just leave the load order as is

It should mark it on your map so long as you have the relevant quest selected, make sure you check that first :)

Hm. Have you tried saving and reloading the game? Maybe you need to also actually read the holotape/papers you pick up to figure that out, i cant recall, Try reading the tapes/papers first, if that doesnt change it, then reload the save

Look around, some quests have 2 markers. Might be hiding somewhere under your nose.

So... I've kinda fallen in love with the cr-74l. Think it might be one of my favorite fallout weapons from any of the games. (Even if it's not officially canon)

First thing I'll always ask, do you have any mods? A lot of the overhaul mods on PlayStation I wouldn't touch.

No mods. Just downloaded and started playing less than a week ago

Hmm, that should be easy then. Try an older save, try reinstalling the game, restarting the game. If you are playing vanilla, game shouldnt have many issues on ps5. I haven't ran into anything a fresh install didn't fix.

Def could have been a smoother release, I feel you there. But there have been much worse releases before, even for Bethesda ha. The good news is that they didn't release it and go silent. If an update for these issues is in the works, that's good news.

Playing FO4. My player cannot jump and moves like no clip is active. Aka I can run into the air. But I can't clip though things to no clip is off and the TCL command doesn't disable my ability to fly. Any ideas?

Just make sure to start saving more often to avoid this in the future. Saving often and building that habit will save you soooooooo much pain the butt.

so I have mod install via Vortex but I'm trying to play the game normally with out using the mod, so I try to open the game normally however it crash after it load up. I don't know what happen is it because of the Mods, because i didn't start the game through F4SE_Loader, so I do I need to disable those mod from Vortex or something

I don't think that's how f4se works... once you add it, it's a part of the game I'm pretty sure. Not something you can just disable like other mods.
