I mean Xbox users never had any opportunity to get Fallout 4 for free...definitely nothing comparable to the PS+ collection and I don't think it was even in any monthly games with gold...if anything this still costs Microsoft sales no matter what because PS+ collection owners can choose to stick to the PS4 version and still get access to the new content. They don't have to buy or pay for a rental.

Rental...the same as PS+ Extra and Premium which DO get the PS5 version of Fallout 4. In fact, if you don't want to buy the game, PS+ Extra is the cheapest available rental service that gives access to the Fallout 4(including next gen upgrade).

Right now Fallout 4 mods are more broken on PC than PlayStation because the script editor a lot of them depend on was broken by the update...but PlayStation never allowed mods tat used the script editor.

You're welcome the best thing about Favoriting a mod is that it'll stay on your Bethnet profile. Cause if you just use add to Library if you uninstall the mod you'll have to search for it again.

Honestly some of those script extender mods can royally mess up your game if you're not careful or if there built improperly.

We had this whole discussion yesterday about how crappy it is that you can't even use texture mods without disabling console achievements. There should be a way for MS or Sony to mark those types as non game modifying or something

You can bypass the build limit without mods at all....drop trash weapons on the ground and dismantle them...there you go, infinite build limit without disabling trophies.

Yeah I know but I really didn’t see any difference. While it sucks I don’t get achievements, I’d rather have a constant no limit than having to drop stuff, store/scrap it mutliple times for the same result

Vault 88 has a naturally larger build limmit than most settlements I think because it is in its own load zone. You can build a lot there before it becomes relevant.

Only thing about bypassing the build limit is to becareful with how many settlements you overbuild in as even on the PC it can cause problems. And be wary of overbuilding in the Sanctuary, Red Rocket and Abernathy Farms area it's sometimes called the triangle of death for good reason.

I spent something like 100 hours just building in that place back in the day and by the time the build limit kicked in at all I was basically done with the place. Still scrapped some stuff but not a ton. I even had a whole overseer office overseeing a lower floor and big farming area, etc.

The thing that frustrated me the most with vault 88 was NPCs would randomly wonder into my private quarters and areas I intended to be hidden away. Even had set up a secret escape path only accessible from the overseer office and all.

Really wouldn't help much anyway cause if they really really want into an area they can teleport in. Same thing happens with settlement attacks seen that enough times to were I no longer use walls for my settlements and just have ton of machine gun and heavy machine gun turrents.

I mostly did it just for the immersion of it. I had set up more than enough defenses that I never had to worry about attacks. The place was very rarely attacked at all anyway.

Nice thing about Sanctuary is that it has that underground shelter you can use as a hide away.

Yeah they can as well as any PA that isn't nailed down or basically make sure it doesn't have a fusion core in it.

With the VATS issue it seems like the penetrator perk fixes it, not sure if it's level 1 or 2 but it definitely worked for me, numbers stopped jumping all over and was actually hitting at the percentage it shows

No since the update vats has been jumping between 0 and 95 when someone is in the open and then also scanning through walls and giving you a chance to hit them, but you can't. Most shots in VATS look like they're being hip fired, they go anywhere

got a post you can link to of some sort because i'm finding that It is about drive partitioning. Bethesda underestimated how much mod storage players would want with FO4, so when Skyrim got console mods they set the storage partition to 5GB.

They can't increase the mod storage without reformatting the designated drive partition, which will delete everyone's currently installed mods and very likely break their save files.

Personally, I’ve always taken scrapper soon as I can. But thats more because im a big settlement builder, the campaign is secondary haha. But scrapper will also help you with weapon and armour stuff too eventually.

Yeah I'm always finding new things I hadn't seen before. I once remember finding a terminal that made mention of the Enclave secretly coming to the Commonwealth and hiding among the residents 2 months before the Sole Survivor left Vault 111. And that was back in 2016, but I've never found that terminal again.

Go in to graphics menu and turn quality mode off. Performance will then be turned on and target 60fps with dynamic resolution so you shouldn't have that lag

Iirc you need to set up the transmitter thing that calls out for people, and i think possibly extra beds….then make sure you have enough food and water collection as well.

I always found it worth building up a good amount of settlers at Sanctuary before I headed off adventuring, then when I took over another settlement I could send some of Sanctuary ones over to get things moving lol

Whenever I move the camera at all the entire screen dims for a couple seconds and when I'm actively moving (as one does in fallout 4), the screen is essentially flashing and it makes the game almost unplayable

Idk just me and like i said all of my stuff is old and i have a partially working graphics card and i have little to no issue like you guys are reporting so i'm just genuinely confused on all the issues i'm hearing about

The lowest number of food, water, and beds is the number of settlers your settlement can support. Happiness, and I think your Charisma stat play into how likely you are to get a new settler. Actually being there when the dice is rolled helps, too.

There's also the security (?) stat, which is raised by turrets, manned guard posts, Creation Club dogs, and a couple other things. I'm not sure if that plays a role, or if it just feeds into the Happiness equation (like the security/whatever stat needs to be equal to or higher than the number of settlers for Happiness to stay the same/increase.

There are guides on this sort of thing, but I don't think anybody's ever figured out the actual formula, and IIRC Bethesda hasn't shared it.

The Northern part of the map is pretty sparse when it comes to content you would be better off making Hangman's Alley your main base IMO the upside to Sanctuary is you can have 999 water production there, same with the Castle and Spectacle Island but IMO the Castle is the best of the 3

Well, you have the problem with radioactivity in the trash. Don't know how that will impact the civilization 200+ years after a nuclear war, but if you start digging around in the soil where there has been irl nuclear accidents, you will get pretty sick real fast if you are unlucky

I found an "issue" when playing Fallout 4 on xCloud or whatever it's called now. You can access the Creation Club and download Creations (it's instant, they're probably all downloaded, but not made available until you add them), but if you then go to play on your Xbox, you will find an error message, unless you have the exact same loadout of Creations. Bethesda games have always acted funny if you remove a mod mid-playthrough, so, why introduce this variable? I think the Fallout 4 launcher should not only sort your Creations for you (as any mod loader does), it should maintain a manifest of them (it probably already does this) and then, if you launch with some missing, it should go fetch them for you. That way, there's no error, and you could just pick up where you left off, either on xCloud or on your Xbox, seamlessly, like it (seems to be) meant to be

Uh you do know that money isn’t the only thing that makes game development run. BGS has four offices—Rockville, Austin, Dallas, and Montreal—Montreal being their least technically advanced team (which is because video game business and French Canada, it’s a whole thing).

That being said, Bethesda doesn’t have many developers on hand for this project and definitely not with Elder Scrolls 6.

I get that but Fallout 4 doesn’t really work in that way. As in, Fallout 4 baked cake and tries to eat half of it and then leaves the other half rotting. Fallout 4 would have made a great game if it had a story which can place the character in a evil arch after the loss of his family or he learns to move on. Uh Fallout 4 doesn’t do that.

Crumbs of a great personal story are there, it just isn’t able to fit in an Fallout open-world roleplaying game.

Yeah I had that problem too I think it has to do with Wasteland Workshop being renamed to Workshops with the PS5 version when I checked with Manage Game Content. While on the PS4 and Xbox Series X/S it's still called Wasteland Workshops. So it's probably a Header problem that the modders will need to figure out to get them to work with the PS5 version and PS4 version.

I think the whole “aesthetic revival” thing in the fallout series comes from a true scientific study that found that we are slowly reverting back to traditional aesthetics. Even as far as music. 60s, and 50s style music as well as blues are becoming more popular, the style of cars are becoming higher in demand, housing shape (I think called nuclear housing) is becoming popular too. Even cities are seeing a bigger trend in suits and dresses. Kinda wild to think about.

By saying a country doesn’t experience a trend is like saying a country doesn’t have an identity which is false. Every country has a few years or decades of major success that multiple generations reflect on and their culture revolves around.

Although I agree that music can come from anything and that you cannot use a statistic to predict EVERY trend, statistics are around for a reason and that's because most of the time they do predict things. There will always be a failure here and there but it does work and that's why it's taught and still used today
