I bought the PS Plus Extra version of the game roughly 2 years ago, since then I have downgraded to PS Plus Essential, people are saying that PS Plus is fixed but not for me. Is it because I downgraded my PS Plus subscription? If so, that is really messed up because I would have to re-upgrade my PS Plus subscription in order to get this “free” update. I mean after all, it still says that I own the PS Plus Extra version of the game and can still play too, even with my current PS Plus Essential subscription. Under game and legal info it states that “This product entitles you to download both the digital PS4® version and the digital PS5® version of this game.” but yet I still cannot upgrade anything. Please tell me that Bethesda is still working to fix this otherwise I wasted my money on the Season Pass 2 days ago.

This is 100% intentional for excluding the PS+ Collection in the upgrade. Here’s my evidence:

When I go to purchase the $20 Standard Edition on the PlayStation Store, the first thing that appears on my screen is an AD for PS+ Extra, something that has NEVER appeared on any other purchase. The update was never going to come to those who own the game through the PS+ collection from the PS5 launch. We got cheated big time.

The problem is people dont bother to read the articles posted by companies. Bethesda clearly stated you needed to have both the base game and the dlc's. Those who have Fallout 4 from the collection didnt have the dlc's (So you cant access the upgrade that comes with the dlc's). The fallout 4 next Gen update honestly looks amazing. As someone who plays this game a couple times a year, every year, I know how it looks when playing. This is a huge improvement in how it feels, weather even seems to have some additional graphical improvements. I loaded up my lvl 10 survival character, I started it about two weeks ago and play off and on (also playing ME 1 so can't blame me) and once I loaded I was greeted with 7 new quests

I was very skeptical of this at first, but it feels like a whole new game, the graphics are actually amazing compared to before, lights and shadows have been properly done, fog, and steam aren't overbearing but feel real, and again the lighting is amazing, the 60fps is so refreshing, the enemies have cleaner models, and same with the guns, the nuclear warfare actually looks like it happened rather then how the nitty gritty details were just blurry, the stimpacks have a real metallic look, and same with the guns, it's an amazing next gen update for a 2015 game, it seriously feels like I'm playing it for the first time!!

Many of us owned the game digitally or physically before the “free” ps plus collection download. This has caused licensing issues where if you are a digital owner you still can’t trigger the upgrade on the store. If you are physical and can’t find the disc you are out of luck as well regardless of redeeming the game permanently to your account.

That's not what the issue is. They have literally explained it. They would have to wipe the mod partition (that would make a lot of people mad because some mods they couldn't get back because deleted from being downloaded again a long time ago.) and then both Xbox and PlayStation okay the partion size increase. Because it takes a section of the hardrive and solely dedicates it to mods for fallout 4.

I launched fallout 4 after updating it with no mods and I have been doing quests and exploring the area making sure to quicksave but when I pressed esc and looked at the load menu the most recent save was my exitsave from last night? I went back and pressed save --> new save but when i went to the load menu the mot recent was still the exitsave from the prior night?

It didn't work for me. I've deleted all data for this game and it still crashes before loading the main menu. I don't have any dlcs installed, just the base game, and it still dies immediately

I think what annoys me the most about this is there seems to be mixed signals regarding what the intention was. On social media Bethesda has stated that they were working on having the update work for ps plus users, but it's really unclear what that means. @winter cave Hmmm I'm still getting the separate PS4 app with the only options being the $19.99 Standard Edition, the GOTY, and a GOTY/Skyrim Anniversary bundle... it's trying to upgrade probably the Plus Collection SKU, but I've downloaded about three versions of the game over the years.

Once with a disc, once with PS+ Collection to make things more 'convenient' by having the titles digitally (if only I knew, RE7 had a similar problem to this... but Capcom wasn't making a big deal of "Free For All Players" in advertising leading into that one, and Sony didn't kill the $5 sale an hour before the upgrade dropped there either)...

I've since gifted the disc away, but from what I've been seeing it'd be hit or miss even if I did still have it. Seems the Plus Collection SKUs take priority on this kind of thing, but it's such a mess I don't know for sure

I already have the game on PC because of a sale of GOTY edition for $10. But the main save I was on was on PS4 so I was sort of hoping to return to it on PS5 once the update dropped. But now it's nothing but confusion. Do people who received the game via ps plus collection have to buy it for the update? When the game was on sale for $5 just a couple days ago? And there was no announcement made that this would exclude ps plus collection users. That quite possibly goes down as some of the worst consumer communication and treatment in quite a while.

That's the other thing. If the $5 sale has just been starting vs. ending the day of the upgrade it would be a highly different situation. I think most of us who are annoyed would have bit the bullet on a "$5 upgrade", but to be so sketchy about that sale? On top of advertising basically telling us NOT to rebuy, it's 'Free for all's.... that's where my annoyance is coming in from, the one-two punch of this whole situation...

They could've gotten away with an essentially time limited paid upgrade, but with the way it was advertised, the sale ending the hour before the upgrade, all users on other platforms having no issue....the only way for Bethesda and Sony to save face and not have all the news on this launch be about how only a portion of PlayStation users got the upgrade is to make it available for the Plus Collection owners too, as was heavily insinuated in all the press leading into this free upgrade.

I mean really, just Extra? Can't port saves back from PS5 app to PS4 app, so this is also setting up an entire wave of "I lost my 400 hour FO4 PS5 saves because the game rotated out of the Extra catalogue" in 3-12 months. Extra is potentially the MOST screwed over, it's a free upgrade now, but you're gonna have to buy the game eventually if you want to keep your saves. So most PlayStation users will eventually be screwed one way or another, pretty much need to upgrade a disc to be sure you keep access to the upgrade

To anyone having issues with the modern furniture pack: I recently purchased this and it was doing the same crashy thing. Thought it stole my credits! I closed the game, did some irl stuff, came back and was able to download it through the ' Download All' button. After installing an upgrade and receiving additional missions and items from the Creation Club package for Fallout 4 on the Xbox Series S, I encountered a bug where the tube grenade launcher and nail gun weapons are not visible in the game environment as items, and they remain invisible even when equipped. If you get the PS5 version via Extra when it finally works, and then drop Extra/Premium (and go down to Essential or drop PS+ entirely) then the game will be locked until you either rejoin PS+ or buy it digitally.

@spring bay if you play on the series X you could enable a 60 fps boost. Worked 10 times better than this update which was supposed to give us the same thing.

fo4 update spoiler! i’ve finished everything new that came with the fo4 update here’s my opinion: i liked it although the new missions felt boring, fast, and not very thoughtful. i like the idea of a baseball launcher but it sucks damage wise but it is cool to have. a nail gun and saw blade gun is lame 100% the tesla launcher is cool as well but very laggy in some areas when used i LOVE the grenade launcher rifle. the power armor i like and the halloween pack is kindve random, did i still crash in boston? yes but not as often as i was before the update i couldn’t even go into boston but now i can play in boston for 4-5 hours without crashing (i play on xbox s btw) i’ll give the update a 6/10

The performance mode Ideally should have just been a 120fps mode there's no need for the "quality" mode to be locked at 30 fps when the textures and lighting don't change

I get constant stuttering on Series S but at least I don't crash whenever I look at a skyscraper anymore. They replaced one problem with another.

Apparently the mods page for pc and maybe consoles are down for maintenance, at least that’s what I’ve been told, not sure if that’ll help anyone here, but it seems you won’t be able to use or access mods until the maintenance is done

Why would I do that? And play most of the game without that stuff? And for me it's not just the new power armors and bits given for free now...I own a lot of armor and weapon paints and other stuff from years ago. I will not play the game without access to those things because playing with all that stuff is the primary reason I even want to play the game again at all besides getting all the trophies again. Was actually going to buy a couple more things and have this banger run in style.

How did they get skyrims next gen version to be 4k 60fps and relatively bug free(until the most recent update) but force you to be in 1080p 60 or maybe 1440p 30 and 2 extra bushes in the fallout 4 next gen version

I literally wanted to spend $10 to buy a couple more things from the creation club and start playing a new run with all the Creation Club content I've had from years ago that I never got to use but since the Creation Club is still completely broken 16 hours later I can only assume Bethesda hates money. Right now there is no point or reason to for me to play this game again...the main reason to replay was to have a solid run with all the epic CC stuff I never used...but I can't.

I was extremely disappointed in fallout 76 & Starfield. So when I heard they updated fallout after a year, my expectation for their update was low. Then I read the comments, and they broke nearly every mod that made fallout 4 good. they didn't even have to touch the game anymore as half of the issues people had were fixed with mods.

Fallout 4 itself is a good base and one doesnt need many mods to fix it, my primary issues are factions and how settlements work (but thats why Sim Settlements 2 and Project Valkyrie exist)

Guys...don't import PS4 or XB1 saves into the new version of the game. The game can't cope with large settlement builds and everything will either be floating high up in the air or experience all sorts of other bugs. And achievements/trophies don't pop anyway.
