Hey all! I hope this is allowed. I know that MOST of you are 1) gamers, 2) play Skyrim and 3) are likely what I call "power gamers" that play Skyrim on at least normal if not legendary difficulty and know 99% of the quests in the game. I'm a bit different in that I'm a retired senior female and play Skyrim on very easy. I'm doing my first ever YouTube channel for game videos and am starting with Skyrim for my first game. I am having a blast playing. When actually playing, I do my usual immersion and role play with my own made up rules. Watching it again and doing a voiceover adds a whole other layer I haven't experienced before. So it's fun! As for memory, join the club. I have what's considered "normal senior memory loss" but I swear mine is way worse than my siblings and definitely worse then my mom. But it's not debilitating, more annoying than anything else. I hope you get to join me on my journey. I need encouragement to keep playing this time!

I seriously need to find out how to get mods to work for Oblivion, I have them downloaded and selected in my load but they're not working. I absolutely play each BethSoft game in vanilla mode the first time through. I want to see the game as its developers intended. After that, I'm open to mods that enhance the world, rather than wrecking it for the lulz.

I strongly agree. I go for mods that expand the game like Beyond Skyrim and such, very seldom do I go for visual mods.

I've spent like 2k hours since February playing straight vanilla Skyrim - I have no idea how many hours over the years. I put about 30 hours in with the USSEP, but that even changed the game too much for me. 😅
I think I'm an old dog and this would be a new trick. Haha! I think mods are great, and I get a kick out of Reddit people having ie: Ronald McDonald fighting Shrek with a light saber.
...but I also cringe at people "Hey, I'm playing Skyrim for the first time. I've installed 347 mods. What should I do for my first time playing?".

Here’s a great example of regional ping and lag. Most of my fights are normal, but the ones against FastDenny are all jacked. Every time. You’d think I would get the advantage on at least one of them, but no.

Key only doors, so long as they don't load into a different area, you can clip yourself through them with a wooden plate. :)
Its similar to the shout + plate trick to get back into the embassy.

No mods. Just console commands and a hidden spell from the Fishing Creation called 'Crab Flaming Pot Item Spell'.

(it's ID to add is XX0FEC45. XX is whatever order your fishing creation is, mine is 05)

Add the spell to mudcrabs, it puts a Flaming Pot in their right pincer. Add the spell to yourself or other people, it adds a Flaming Pot to their hip/leg and looks pretty silly. LOL

No mods. The Flaming Pot is a Fishing Creation item used to load catapults during the quest 'Wave Breaker'. (I duplicated extras I obtained from that quest)

I love this item for 2 reasons. For one, it always drops as individual items, no matter the quantity chosen. (my game would freeze if I tried to drop more than 200 at one time)

For two, this is the second item in unpatched Skyrim to offer a placeable light source. (the first being a lit torch. Glazed Candles can be obtained and placed only with the unofficial patch.)

A Flaming Pot offers a little more light than candles, but a little less than torches. They don't sit upright for nothing, but IMO they add a nice ambience to a home when wedged in corners, and placed next to sacks and barrels.

Yes, but it's fun. Using The Ritual Stone with Bane of the Undead gives a lot of XP.
I was able to make Restoration 100 legendary 3 times just from the draugr at Forelhost. Twice, from the draugr at Dead Man's Respite. Many areas, it's not too difficult to have enough bodies to go from Restoration 15 to 100.

A few months ago I discovered something strange on Skyrim. I tried to find out about it from others but no one seemed to know about it and I could find nothing about it online or even by players who've played the game for years. I begun to think maybe it was only on Switch but I don't know. That's why I'm trying to find out about this. Wish I could talk to the people at Bethesda about this because I really want to know what this is and why it happens and if it's a glitch. The statue representation is a little different to the armor Ysgramor is actually wearing (which you can see better on Ysgramor himself at Sovngarde) - he's wearing the Ancient Nordic Armor and you can find multiple sets at Forelhost, southeast of Riften, up the mountain.

Notorious Arcwind Point bug. If you have access to console commands, you can input to reset the quest, and input to mark Arcwind Point as cleared so Arngeir won't try to send you there again.
Without console commands, there's nothing you can do, but keep in mind. You're locked out of Arngeir's shout fetching. You're not locked out of obtaining those same shouts yourself of your own initiative.

At specific point in time you can have an entire team with you. When you get to the cave with delphine and esbern, plus the goblin "pet" that can summon storm atronach, and your follower, you end up with a crazy a$$ strike force. (AE game)

Is your method of obtaining the Fine Raiment by using the Wabbajack on Potema? Or by 'spiderpicking' Elisif the Fair?

I really like Torygg's Embroidered Garment. Spider picking is tricky. I find it easiest to do when I'm closest to them without touching, to pick right as the spider hits. (if the spider goes crunch as their inventory opens, it will work)

The sword also changes depending on your level when you first discover it. I didn't come across it until later in this playthrough and it was an ebony sword. I've also come across it as an orcish sword.

He's a miner with maximum level of 15 and while he does have some one/two handed skills, its fairly challenging to keep him alive. I actually had to go back and temper the equipment for him more, because a prior attempt at this, one Forsworn Ravager could quickly defeat him.
