Please add an option where we can switch to have all the og sounds and voices or at least add mods to console in the future PLs
Things change with the times. It’s been over 20 years since the game released. Most new releases these days go with the body type system.. Like it or not, it’s politically correct these days. It’s an attempt by a global corporation to delicately respect identity for all in a CHARACTER CREATION system for a single player game.
Honestly, it’s not that deep. If people are upset about it after making their choice in a (again) SINGLE PLAYER game, that’s an angry person. Body type 1 or 2 is not a new concept and those who are upset are sad individuals.
Lastly, some arguments have been made that it’s “confusing”…. Really…. One body type is small and has tits and one is bigger and doesn’t. If people can’t figure out which is which and decide what one they want, that’s a personal problem.
Romances like in Skyrim would be cool, optional of course.
I would like to suggest a new mode into the game called "Morrowind" which when you press it makes a new game for you that looks like what one would imagine the remake of the classic game "TESIII: Morrowind" would look like.
I think that it would add replayability to the game.
Thanks for your consideration.
I dont really get this. It's not like you can see the private parts of your character when selecting a body type, back even when it was Male and Female Body types.
Typically, people present as having either of those body types and can have anything underneath between their legs but you never see it in the game. If it says male you are just imagining there is a penis between the legs but you never see it. So it's the same as choosing Type 1 body and imagining to yourself there is a penis between the legs (or anything else)
I think that's how it is more inclusive, though if they are going this route maybe you could edit the actual size of your body more, or having the voices be selectable
I think weapon charge usage and durability should also scale somewhat with difficulty.
It's one thing to make me swing my sword 25 times instead of 5, I'm cool with that.
I don't, however, think the game is really balanced around needing to use 25 swings of my enchanted weapon worth of charges or 25 swings worth of durability loss to kill one enemy though.
Weapon charge/durabilty on higher difficulties is an absolute burden to manage. I'm literally opening the recharge and repair menus after every single fight.
I'm a simple adventurer, I'd just like the game to make it obvious when a soul gem is full, like a (filled) on the end.
If you think that transpeople are thrilled from having body type 1 / 2, then I'm sorry to inform you that most don't give a damn. This is a battle between game developers who don't actually listen to transpeople and biggots who get upset about such a silly thing.
can you stop clogging the channel with this? We heard you the first time, no need to copy paste basically the same thing. edit: I'm not upset multiple people are talking about this, but one person keeps repeating themselves.
The world today is in a very divided, polarized state. With a game released today, when it comes to male/female, body type or pronouns, whether you have them or not, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't, people will complain and go on some campaign against it.
Oblivion Remastered however is different. As a recreation of a nearly 20-year-old game, it can be understood by most people if it doesn't include them, as it's not tied to the current political landscape.
Obviously the body type thing is already done and changing it back would incite further controversy, but I am against adding pronouns as I want this game to be in a rare and comfortable minimally controversial spot.
Oblivion has always been my favorite game of all time, and I want this remaster to succeed as much as it can.
Suggestion. unlocks console commands for all systems
Suggestion: mod support on consoles.
Suggestion: the ability to remove khajiit neckbeards
Suggestion: better eye/brow customization on all player species, especially the elves... why they arched like that.
Please, please, please make beast tongue more interesting.
The dream would be something closer to warden from eso. Where you can have a permanent beast companion. And hopefully a full warden star sign/talent tree for it with the next game. Featuring beasts, nature themes, maybe spirit beasts.
For us animal lovers, pls.
Edit: it could also give an alternate bow playstyle if we had our own personal tanking bear or boar 🙂
This is such a relatively trivial issue. I don't think this requires as much space as its taking up when ya'll could be talking about features that would tangibly improve the game.
Just joined the discord but is this all it is? Idiots getting rattled over 2 word changes? Why do we give these clowns the time of day.
Suggestion: ban those people btw
If replacing Male with BT1 and Female with BT2 makes you uncomfortable…. That’s weird. You wouldn’t complain about voice options 1-10 not being specifically named “High pitch male voice”, “Low pitch female voice”, “High pitch female voice”, etc. Why does body type matter that much? I didn’t think about it once after selecting, and I likely won’t think about it on my next character.
Who cares what the options are called! They could call it “Body type pickle juice 42069 or Booty sweat 1337” and it truly would not matter at any other point in the game. Pick what you want and play the game.
There seems to be an issue with bow sneak attacks. I'm getting "sneak attack 1x damage" fairly often. Can't find any pattern to it. Major disruption to a whole play style
All I will say is, they should have commited fully. The fact its body's type does not bother me one bit, what bothers me personally is they did that but didn't even give players a chance to change their pronouns. In the perspective of a Male who Identifies as she/her but with a Male body type, it can lead one to believe that having "Body types" might also = Having pronouns that reflect someones preferered pronouns. Not everyone who looks like a girl goes by she. (Not speaking against it, just think they could have fleshed it out more is all) It feels half baked atm. 🏳️🌈 ❤️
Here are my suggestions:
Inventory tweaks, so subcategories at the very least
Optimize the game more, try to reduce stuttering
Fix some broken(?) textures like Skingrad guard armor
Dungeon variety? Keep the layout the same so you can use UESP and what not, but add some things to make them more interesting, like vegetation etc.
Claymores need a buff, either damage or speed buff.
Official mod tools!
The body type thing is literally a non issue, I don't understand why this is such a big deal to people, y'all need to stop polluting this chat with this argument too, this is for suggestions.
It'd be nice to have a weight to price ratio column in the inventory tab
My suggestion would be bug fixes and performance fixes first before anything else.
The bugs and issues that take away from the experience, like crashing, frame drops and npc facial glitches, dead bodies not disappearing when they should when the cell resets, quests or items not working properly, Oblivion gates spawning at the start of the game instead of after kvatch. Some safe storage that isn't actually safe storage ( Greywyn's Armoire for example)
One thing that bugs me is those Atronach familures you get from the mage tower, they don't despawn when they die, and those vault guardian imps in the vault don't respawn when they die.
Some bugs that don't ruin gameplay are fine like duping or whatever is fine.
Then gameplay tweaks next. Like fix difficulty scaling. the Jump between adept and expert is insane.
Also I feel like enchanted weapons should have more charges perhaps.
I have a suggestion/request. Would it be possible to look into tobii integration. This kind of game is screaming for headtracking support. Oh and if could get upscaling back on gamepass. That would be grand.
Please add micro transactions. I would like to see purchasable skins.
Cap the level scaling/loot scaling for more enemies in the game. Bandits shouldn't be wearing glass/daedric just because I am level 25+. I know this is a big departure from the original game but no one actually cares and it's one of the most common mods to the original game.
Suggestion. unlocks console commands for all systems
Suggestion: mod support on consoles.
Suggestion: armor displays in bigger homes, and dlc housing.
Suggestion: the ability to remove khajiit neckbeards
Suggestion: better eye/brow customization on all player species, especially the elves... why they arched like that.
Can't put stuff on shelves anymore should probably fix that. We should return the original dedicated grab button and make up D pad the weapon wheel shortcut. We should add more weapon wheels too.
-
A dungeon cleared marker
-
A hot key when in the map to zoom into the dungeon map. Additional QoL have it be left in the dungeon map view when I reopen the map until I zoom back out or hit the hot key.
-
Filled soul gem indicator
-
More shortcut wheels. 8 slots is fine in the early game but they quickly get filled up.
-
Item sub types and expand the ingredient filter from the brewing menu to the rest of the inventory/magic menus.
-
Being able to delete crafted spells
Another suggestion:
The black door for the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary needs redoing. It's missing the creepy ominous sounds and the blood red lighting of the original. Also the room where the door is is way too bright. It completely misses the creepy vibe
Can we get a glory hole in one of the abandoned ruins
- Reintroduce item subcategories in the inventory
- Official Mod Support (share of a Creation Engine for example)
- Improved Radiant AI (e.g an option to switch between classic and modern AI would be great)
- Improved enemy combat AI (again, I would like to see an option to switch between classic and modern AI)
- Improved NPC pathfinding (in addition, I would like to see an option to make quest npc run instead of walk)
- Option to auto-level unique artifacts with character level
- New quests and items for those who already played the game back in the days
- Option to switch to classic color palette
- Option to change the world and local maps with more detailed/more colorful/better upscaled alternative versions of the original (a 3D map like skyrim one would be a plus)
BUG: While lockpicking if you just click without touching a pin, you'll gain security XP and not break your pick.
So you can effectively mash the 'set pick' button repeatedly for free skill improvements indefinitely.
Anyone else encountered bow sneak attacks set to 1x damage? I'd love for this to get some attention...
i second this. Also it's the wrong number of children.
I don’t think you understand my point. It’s a non-issue. It truly doesn’t matter. It’s a “remaster”, meaning it’s been modernized in more ways than one. REPRESENTATION is one of those modernizations.
If you feel dehumanized by the words on your computer screen in your video game saying BT1/2 instead of male/female, you have bigger things to worry about….
This is a single player role playing remaster. They modernized options to meet social standards in a dated game. Why do you people care so much?
Remove the sun damage on vampires. It is completely unfun, make it no health regen insteas
Let me see the in game time in inventory menu! Being unable to wait whilst trespassing removes the ability to see the current in game time.
Flip between multiple shortcut menus on console.
Please, please, I need this.
I want to make a combat menu, a casual menu, and a stealth menu.
A lot of game has this when having those menu wheels. It’s like my main issue right now. (And if I’ve somehow missed and this is a thing, plz tell me how
cause I’m dying having to open the main menu all the time to switch between magic)
You already can. I think it's left on the D pad for PS5 and it takes you straight to the magic selections. Unless you mean something else and i misunderstood?
BUG: In the character creator the picture for the male Bosmer looks like a cute femboy, but every time I try to make one it looks like Mickey Rourke (who is NOT a cute femboy). Please fix this ASAP thanks 🙏.
Also a camping system would be pretty sick to have. At least something that adds a backpack and a camping roll or something. Like that on top of a survival mode would be pretty good.
Lol
Give us a difficulty setting between adept and expert or even better add two different sliders for difficulty one for damage dealt and one for damage taken.
Interface:
- Ability to delete or archive spells
- Default local map in interiors
- Hotkey for local/global map switch
- Menu subcategories
- More hotkeys
- Favorite option in menus
Gameplay:
- Custom difficulty, eg low health high damage for all
- Option for deleveled loot
- Option for loot that levels with you, like armor of the nine set
- Option for deleveled enemies, or level restricted enemies
- Option for enemy gear to be restricted, eg no more bandits with glass armor
Vibe:
- Dark brotherhood gate ambience
- Physics enabled arena lamp
Divines bless 🙏
Change the running animation. It’s great that it’s goofy or whatever but please make it less horizontal? Takes me out of it
If there's one city that could do with some redesign it's Leyawiin, mainly due to its original concept art showing a canal going through it, which would be a big improvement in terms of lore and immersion.
Those ships in the Imperial City? Currently they have no way of actually getting to sea with Leyawiin in the way.
The buildings could all be the same, just shifted in position to accomodate for the change.
The guard armors received a similar minor change, with a hauberk extending down the legs underneath the surcoat, present in the concept art but not in the original released game.
Suggestions: give PC players using a controller an option to walk, or remove the jog speed when the stick is pushed full forward. I prefer to walk at a normal human speed and hit the sprint button opnly as and when when I need to move fast. But as it is, I am forced to either zoom around like a skooma-drenced madman (which is honestly dumb in a game centered around exploration) or develop RSI keeping my left stick pushed only halfway forward.
Anyway to add children to the game? Like in skyrim?
Dude hasn’t made it past the character creation. Just fuming at the mental labyrinth that is body type 1 and 2.
Hit randomize and start game
Ah no I mean the radial shortcut menu
✨
Though I keep forgetting the shortcut to the magic menu 😂 I’ll use it more now! Thanks!
Lemme bind 'Skip Dialogue [Enter]' to whatever I'd like please 😁
And taking books too
Suggestion: Have cloth physics not be frozen on ragdolls, and actually collide with the ground. It's 2025, give us some good cloth physics. Also, wounds on enemies that were present in the OG should be present in the Remastered version, too. Hitting corpses and items no longer gives them a physics impulse, please change it so it works like in the OG.
Just a couple of suggestions:
-
A way to change appearance after leaving the sewers. Sometimes you realise your character looks off, or just simply want to change them.
-
Add player character height back. In the original your race determined the height of your character. Playing as an Altmer and being shorter than other Altmers feel weird, or playing a Breton but being bigger than every other Breton also feels weird.
-
A keyring of sorts to help manage our inventory. Throughout the game you acquire many different keys, these fill you inventory and make it hard to navigate/find all your items. A keyring would place all of your keys into a single slot so the inventory would become less clogged.
Please include unlocking Console Commands for Consoles (PS5/Xbox)
I waited 15 minutes to send this message
Please let me change the accept key to something that is not enter 🙏
Give the dark brotherhood sanctuary door its ominous red glow back
Hello fellas !
Can I gently ask to fix the difficulty settings ?
There is an abysmal gap between Adept and Expert that feel somewhat off.
Maybe in changing the HP buff of ennemies in Expert, or simply by dividing the setting in two : the damage of the player and the damage of the ennemies ?
Thank you very much, you guys are fire 🔥
Hi there, just one console addition for now -
Allow us to decide via toggle whether we want auto heath regeneration on or not on console (as it messes with the balance of the game). PC players can do this via ini file changes at this time.
The speed movement of the caracter is less than ideal on xbox series X : i'm moving either really slow (walking) or running at blistering speed without any other speed in between. I'm not talking about the sprint but only the "regular" running speed. Seems like there is no analog control on the left stick but more like there is two speed, one very slow, the other way too fast (i'm running faster than a horse at galop)
The Cheydinhal entrance to the dark brotherhood is one of the most iconic places in Oblivion, as well as the most creepy of any Bethesda game to date.
The descent into the building to the dark entrance, illuminated only by the gloomy red light of the creepy door.
The sound sends shivers down your spine and makes you think you're about to enter a world of horror and suffering
in the remaster, on the contrary, it is just a door with the drawing, no darkness, no glow, no sound. and the drawing adds 2 children.
please change it back to the original!!!!!
Can we please get a tuning of the color science to be more like the original Oblivion?
SUGGESTION: add more miscellaneous objects to the game. Totally random example but idk what if you guys added like full length pillows to random dungeons. The player could take them home and put them in their bed and stuff. Maybe they could have full body depictions of the different Aedra and Daedra so players could practice their religions at home yknow? Just random stuff like that to really flush out the lived in world vibes. Maybe the pillows could talk sometimes even like the gods were speaking to you? Tell you you did a good job clearing out that dungeon or something? Just an idea.
actually could you guys just add cigarettes? I wanna take a nice drag after a stressful dungeon
I installed a mod to fix that issue and have been playing normally since then. Would just love for that QoL improvement to be a part of base game and most importantly available to console players, Bethesda has been relying on modders to fix their issues for far too long. Again, the popularity of the mod clearly shows it is a needed change, despite the negative reactions it gets in this channel.
been said 100s of times but its nice to reinforce that point, that and genereal performance optimization (Mostly CPU accross all devices) and a little bit for GPU (Like 5-10% overal better performance) also a option to completely turn off Lumen and use a more optimized yet still pretty, traditional shadow rendering (FYi I have above recommended requirements and still need to use upscalling)
Add a difficulty between adpet and expert
Improve the performance (fps drops)
More spectators in the Arena, the cheer is too loud for the amount in there
- editfunction for mapmarkers or set it to cleared/closed (for gates) or auto after closing a gate maybe with colorchange of the icon (greyscaled)
Increase shadow intensity for lumen software RT, right now it makes lighting in shaded areas like dense forests and cloudy weather look flat even at high settings, even the lowest hardware RT setting has shadows looking correctly, however at a great performance cost: https://imgur.com/a/K7geCNw
-
New sprint animation. Keep old one, let us choose. Cuz current one is ridiculous but some people like it.
-
Perhaps a highlight toggle for loot on the ground (like weapons dropped by people). Have to play with low foliage to not lose stuff
-
More HUD customization. The current implementation is really large and takes up a lot of real estate
-
Difficulty scaling. This has been beat to death already.
-
Leveled loot needs to be addressed, either by leveling with you or having an upgrade system.
-
Inventory Sorting!! Loot is a mess right now because of item sorting.
-
Keybinds: Rebindable hard coded keys such as enter for confirm, dodge, loot searching (opening your inventory on a container), close menu (right click should be an option)
-
Toggle key for local map
-
A/D slider adjustment
-
Soul gem empty or filled indicator
-
Dungeon cleared marker or allow us to change the map markers ourselves. Even if we could just change the icon color.
-
Defauly map view to local map when in a local area
-
Delete option for crafted spells
-
Additional quick slots or quick wheels. Why cant i use 1-8 on my keyboard and separately use the quick wheel as well?
-
Fix grab item physics to make it easier to place items
-
Two hand melee weapons are useless by comparison to one hand. They need some sort of animation or damage buff
-
Keyring for keys so they individual keys arent cluttering the inventory
-
Leveled enemies. Meaning allow lower level enemies to scale up with the player so that at higher levels it not just bandits with glass armor for every dungeon.
Need to fully add mod support
You know that weird face sculptor lady in Skyrim? Maybe an NPC like her that can change your appearance for a fee or it could just be her because she's a Bosmer and they live a long time
- Fast travelling inside interiors
- Recent tab in Inventory
Interface:
- Ability to delete or archive spells
- Default local map in interiors
- Hotkey for local/global map switch
- Menu subcategories
- More hotkeys
- Favorite option in menus
- Unlocked console commands for all systems/consoles
Gameplay: - Custom difficulty, eg low health high damage for all
- Option for deleveled loot
- Option for loot that levels with you, like armor of the nine set
- Option for deleveled enemies, or level restricted enemies (toggle)
- Option for enemy gear to be restricted, eg no more bandits with glass armor (toggle)
- Armor and weapon displays
- a way to recustomize your character after the sewers/tutorial.
- character height customization
- key ring
- Mod support for consoles.
Vibe: - Dark brotherhood gate ambience
- Physics enabled arena lamp
🙏
I know this isn't gonna be a big deal for most people, but I'm super on board with Skyrim's bare minimum marriage system returning, or a more in-depth follower system.
I'd like options for more hair styles. Especially longer hair styles
Transmog, a spell or equitable version of the Crimson Dawn’s bound armor, new sprint animation, proper mod support and a more fleshed out difficulty system. It would be far better if we could set rules in game as opposed to just a standard difficulty slider. Let us do stuff like increase or decrease damage as individual %s, turn up or turn down loot quality, make it so we can’t get armor/weapons from bodies etc.
This is a small one. But on the black door there’s 7 children. But in the lore the night mother only had 5. And the audio kinda made it a big deal to hammer in that fact. So for immersion sakes, it would be cool for 2 of them to be removed if that’s possible.
I'd like my horse to not be auto targetted each time I dismount to fight someone. Please and thanks.
Not sure how likely or doable it is but what would be cool is to have a way to bring our levelled quest rewarda to whatever our current level is like how we can with Pelinal's armour or the deluxe content stuff.
Other than that I think misc items having a bit of value, even if only a little would be a nice small touch, it always bothered me that these things aren't even worth a single gold lol
Please give us the ability to delete spells from our catalog. A lot of them are just different versions of the same spell and having the ability to remove the clutter of unused ones would really make find what we actually need easier.
Please keep in mind this channel is for suggestions and feedback only! If you would like to report a bug, please let us know by ticketing here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1402/oblivionrecat/287/feedback/1135

“Cleared” tag on cleared dungeons on the world map like in Skyrim! Please!!! ❤️
Please report bugs on the official website; this section is for suggestions only.
I'm not sure if it's the same for every guild questlines but at the end of the mage guild I got the arch mage robes and they didn't have a single enchantment on. Which I felt was disappointing. I felt like it should have a really powerful enchantment on.
Small/ medium suggestions:
- Ability to turn off passive healing, please. Keep it as optional, for people who may want it.
- Ability to turn off HUD elements individually. I'd like to play with no compass (make use of that clairvoyance spell).
- Separating out tabs for potions, ingredients, alchemy equipment, books and scrolls, or at least add them to a filter option, my alchemy tab is an absolute mess rn 💀.
- Ability to remove spells, as others suggested.
Larger scale suggestions:
5. More followers, I do actually miss that in Skyrim. Could we ask members of the blades to follow us, hire mercs, or maybe ask people with high Disposition to follow us?
6. Target lock for combat, would be useful in huge skirmishes or if you're doing a lot of dodging.
7. I-frames for dodging would be great, too.
8. A survival mode, I tend to like to RP that anyway.
9. I mean I don't think it'd possible without getting back all the voice actors but Skyrim style marriage would be kinda cute.
BUG: The texture on some animated loading screen doors (Sundercliff watch entry door for example) seems to be using worldspace for some of its shader UV coords instead of model space, so when the door animates the texture 'slides' over the model
introduce the ability to cast 2 spells at the same time (like in skyrim)
Sprinting with a shield in hand, makes the shield clip through the whole arm.
no. i want to play oblivion remastered and not oblivion Skyrimized
CLEAR on oblivion gates, caves, etc.
Local map default when in towns, dungeons, etc.
Carry weight when looting.
Time when in inv.
A way to change appearance after leaving sewer.
Change to leveled gear.
Better inv sort Ui.
Horse whistle.
Sound for completing quest?
Can we please get advanced grass/landscape options in the Ultra setting? For example what we see in Nolvus modlist or NGVO modlist, would love to have an option for those with high-end GPUs
proper menu sorting particularly for pc, please see oldblivion or the popular ui mods made for all your games, SkyUI, fallUI, darnifiedUI ect. There's a very good reason these are top mods repeatedly across your games, inventory management is annoying.
Been really enjoying the remaster, and here's some suggestions for improvements, my experience has been on PS5:
-
Default map to local in interior cells, as that is quite frustrating especially on controller. Several new players I know didn't even realize there was a local map
-
Optimisation and performance. I've had 6 crashes on PS5, which have sent off but reports. The game looks gorgeous but the frames are often inconsistent, particularly around oblivion portals and when crossing into a new cell.
-
Difficulty scaling tweaks, everyone has talked about the leap from adept to expert, and since this is based on the old engine, it seems likely difficulty is the same under the hood, with damage dealt and damage received being affected by percentage modifiers. A middle ground between adept and expert would likely be appreciated by players
-
Health Regen toggles or options, as the regen seems to be extremely fast and seems to negate the need for potions or magic.
-
Race specific barks and sounds - when sprinting, attacking or being hit. The player character makes grunts or noises, however it's quite jarring to be playing an argonian, and when attacking or being hit by an attack you hear the orc voice actor grunt, followed by the nord voice actor grunt etc. Would it be possible to make it so that the sounds for running, fighting etc actually match the race of the player character? You probably shouldn't hear Khaajit noises when swinging an axe as a nord
-
Subcategories in inventory, as by mid game it's extremely clunky to try and find particular items, especially ingredients and potions as they're all in one big list as opposed to having subheadings
Suggestion: This "Skyrim" place at the top of the map sounds kinda cool. Maybe you guys could do something with that? I'm thinking an expansion that's like a super watered down version of base Oblivion, with like none of the soul. And you know how Oblivion/Cyrodiil has all these beautiful vibrant colors that make you enjoy life? Maybe for that skyrim zone you guys just make it the most soul sucking scenery, absolutely no joy or life, just white and grey.
The good thing about Oblivion is that you don't wield spells like a weapon. You just cast them no matter what your hands are doing. Two at the same time wouldn't hurt though.
But it seems to work totally differently. At the same time doesn't lend itself to Oblivion, but it should be easy to switch between two spells
In your original Oblivion advertising you said that trees and environment would grow over time. Could we have that implemented and you'll be forgiven for false advertisement
Suggestion: Add SMAA (Subpixel Morphological Anti-Aliasing) to the graphics options in addition to FXAA, TAA and TSR
Pls make an Elsweyr dlc (in my dreams lol)
Here is my list, and i am aware that some of it already written, but i want to show what is most important from those to me as well.
- Two handed sword, and maces need faster attack, or greater damage.
- Ability to delete spells.
- Weight/Value in UI. So we can decide more easily what to drop for saving inventory. A lot of stuff we carry around is to be sold later.
- Make difficulty method more akin to Skyrim in the creation kit. The behind settings had separated values for damage done, and taken for each difficulty settings. Which allowed modding them in an absolutely flexible way. I think that modding capability should be default. You would get the presets, and you could just use custom where you decide how much damage to take, and deal. For example for later stages i would use something like double damage done, and taken. So i die, and kill faster.
Reflect Damage both prevents damage and reflects it back on the enemy. This makes you immune to everything but magic and ranged damage at 100%, while being insanely easy to attain.
I think it would be way moer fun if reflect damage did not prevent damage, just reflected it back. This would allow you to play reflect builds without breaking the game.
please for the love of god do something about leveled gear. A neat suggestion I saw was make the armorer skill allow gear to be upgraded to its full potential.
Let me keep Dialogue Subtitles On and Regular Subtitles Off
The Cheydinhal entrance to the dark brotherhood is one of the most iconic places in Oblivion, as well as the most creepy of any Bethesda game to date.
The descent into the building to the dark entrance, illuminated only by the gloomy red light of the creepy door.
The sound sends shivers down your spine and makes you think you're about to enter a world of horror and suffering
in the remaster, on the contrary, it is just a door with the drawing, no darkness, no glow, no sound. and the drawing adds 2 children.
please change it back to the original!!!!!!
Levelled gear needs to be sorted. Even it’s a matter of paying gold to an enchanter for the service.
Unobtainable gear should be gotten rid of. There should be no reason we can’t loot the Imperial Watch Armor from those palace guards.
Mythic Dawn summoned armour spell should be a thing.
Give us a toggleable/slide option for bloom and old Oblivion colours.
Fix the lighting on the Dark Brotherhood Cheydinhal Door - it used to be way better.
Allow me to turn off HUD.
Make it so that you can craft the regular sets of armour OR that those gear pieces can be bought somewhere. I hate over levelling without first picking up a low level piece of gear and then never being able to find it again just because of RNG.
Extend 2H hitboxes.
More presets/2nd wheel.
DELETE SPELLS.
Sound for completing quest?
Rework the audio and visual design of potions. Make them more pink like in the original game instead of dark purple. And restore their iconic glass CLANK sound, it’s too muffled now.
When I complete a specific location or cave, I want it to be clearly marked on the map.
We shouldn’t be forced to use lumen rt, especially since it doesn’t run well on many gpus
Please remove the Shield Effect particle effects on your character with every single Blunt power attack I can't see ANYTHING using Blunt weapons.
The Adoring Fan's hair should be significantly more yellow
More Organization tabs in Misc since it gets cluttered
Key Ring Tab or bag to declutter Misc
Charge on Items
Weight of items and inventory
Auto 2-sided inventory when looting/opening rather than having to use additional buttons to activate second inventory
Auto local map
Barber/Face sculpt
More on-the-road random encounters (larger imperial skirmishes vs Daedra after kvatch?)
I like the lore added, would be nice to see a higher presence like from ESO, Morrowind, Daggerfall & Arena
Nods to the developers who made this happen, either by posters or lore book
2 handed weapon increase dmg
Horse combat(?)
Level-reset box or update from special NPC mage for special items (like Chillrend)
loot scaling & rarity balance
[Cleared] tag
All of this except for the sprint animation. Animation works very well for rogue-ish human characters and khajiit.
Also there was a mod back in OG Oblivion that added a spell to call your horse. Maybe we could have the horse whistle implemented like that.
There was also a Barber mod which the OG oblivion mods added. Something like that in the imperial city would make sense and fill immersive.
could you give a link please?
Please reshade the game to be true to the original, less yellow/brown, more greens and contrast. Also i would greedily pay $20 for a new expansion pack that rivals shivering isle. Lastly it kind of feels like a rework of difficulty is needed. I’m playing adept and am level 21 but am 1 hitting literally everything and i havent even done any exploits or cheese. Edit: forgot to mention that stealth is pretty broken when NPCs don’t recognize that someone died right in front of them. Might be worth reworking that to add a little challenge
Vr Oblivion! It looks so fun! If love it in psvr2!.
There's mods for it already!
https://youtu.be/nKR5fQ9yDnM?si=LzRzROkmtiF67ezx
The Oblivion Remastered VR mod ALREADY HAS MOTION CONTROLS after just one week, VR modders are moving FAST to make this brand new Elder Scrolls VR experience as good as it physically can be, this one will feel native VR in no time... Oblivion Remastered VR has only been around for 6 days at the time of my writing this but the VR modding communit...
Remove spells from spell list (atleast self made ones)
Better menu sorting either oldoblivion style or SkyUI-FallUI style, or sort by Icon.
Charge information for enchanted weapons
Separate Local and world map again and allow us to zoom out of the local map.
Autoleveling unique gear(theres already a mod for it but official)
Separate sliders for incoming outgoing damage for difficultly
If possible make your horse less of a target for enemys, they'll ignore you to go after the horse, but ignore your summons to go after you which is when you'd want them to ignore you.
Fix enemy level scaling with caps for types(already a mod-make official)
Able to favourite/hide spells.
Fix menu keys on PC or give us the Keybind options, Enter isn't a real keybind in 2025.
Acrobatics level 100 backflip for backwards dodge return maybe return dodge roll instead of dash
More naturalistic khajiit fur colors please,,, so many neon ones and only a handful of Real Cat Colors to choose from
Please change the grunts from all male voices by for example tying them to the character gender.
1)Change hair/faces
2)Better inventory
3)Be able to delete spells
- Bigger shortcut wheel
5)Be able to move while the shortcut wheel is open
6)Add repeatable quests in different guilds/inns
- After level 100, male it possible to reset skills like in Skyrim
CLEAR on oblivion gates, caves, etc.
Local map default when in towns, dungeons, etc.
Carry weight when looting.
Time when in inv.
A way to change appearance after leaving sewer.
Change to leveled gear.
Better inv sort Ui.
Horse whistle.
Extend 2H hitboxes.
More presets/2nd wheel.
1st person horsey.
DELETE SPELLS.
Sound for completing quest?
Oh, and change "Search" to "Transfer".

- user allowed to buy a very luxury house in the imperial city itself (Fl. 13.000)
- add option to the graphics to use different color palettes (realistic, old fashioned, fantasy)
- add keyboard shortcut to hide/show the hud
- improve quality of health/energy/magic bars
- improve looting speed. (you now always be prompted on how many items you can take. then you need your cursor to move to "yes". it would be nice if you could just loot with your left hand (using wasd to navigate)
Going page by page on controller with ⬅️ ➡️ on the D-Pad in item/spell menus would be lovely.
Right now it's just up/down that slowly accelerates. The way it is currently keeps controller users in the menus longer the more they play.
⬅️ ➡️ on the D-Pad doesn't seem to have any other use in the menus currently.
Would be amazing to have capes/cloaks - the updated hoods are beautiful, but matched with a cape or cloak would be amazing, especially in the new engine
Fix the height bug and the bug that’s stops you from entering certain pathways had to restart multiple times and it ended my streams multiple times
-
Inventory sub tabs (separate space for potions/ingredients/soul gems/keys/books)
-
Ability to edit character after sewers would be immensely appreciated
-
Better sound effect for horses when riding - their step/gallop sound effect seems very cheap
-
Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary door - Bring back the atmosphere! (Glow and sound effect) ALSO change the mural back to how it was in original - it depicts the night mothers 5 children in OG. For some reason remaster adds 2 children. The change is incorrect to lore
Thanks
Shardrock door is bugged after you kill the bears and you need to unlock the door to go in and out.. just wasted 17 lock picks at the start of the game because of a door thats not supposed to even be locked!
More Armour/clothing pieces, like how about a Skirt we can wear with our Pants or a Belt? it'll be a nice reference to the Morrowind Levitation Skirt.
Better subtitle range, if I can hear the speech I'd like to see the subtitles. Would be better for players with hearing loss but I'm sure not everyone would want it so make it a toggle.
The clothing is very washed out compared to the original, would be great if it could be changed to more resemble the original colours and tones.
Examples being the Shrouded Armour; apparently it's 'black as the void', but no... it's red and washed out. Also the Black and Burgundy outfit is... purple.
Survival mode like in TES 5 Skyrim would be awesome.
Edit: I think this should be a standard optional game feature in general.
That's not possible I'm afraid, what would you consider cleared criteria?
I hope they just add a way to mark a visited dungeon
Leather armor has several missing backfaces and open back, screenshot demonstrates it only partially
https://i.imgur.com/1Rh3DJ6.jpeg
same goes for the knee pads
- I would find it cool if you could maybe throw a vampire/werewolf in a DLC, maybe with a quest or a ritual 2. and it would also be cool if you could find the DLC stuff easier
Please keep in mind this channel is for suggestions and feedback only! If you would like to report a bug, please let us know by ticket here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1402/oblivionrecat/287/feedback/1135
Ability to conjure multiple weaker servants as you level up conjuration to keep the weaker spells relevant would be amazing. E.g summon 5 scamps
I would appreciate separating tools like repair hammers and alchemy things, in to their own section. Potions and ingredients should be separated as well.
Alternatively. I’m okay with tools going to their respective areas like hammers show up in weapons or armor, and alchemy shows up in ingredients (but still separate potions).
Also the ability to forget spells. I don’t need flare or protect anymore, it’s just clogging my menu.
More hairstyles, the selection could really use some variety. Perhaps distribute them to a few NPCs too.
While I think the game is a pretty, I wouldn’t mind a bit of a reshade to bring it back to OG oblivion a bit.
VR still, I’ve already said it. But it’s like my hearts top desire
Ability to select whether you want a poison or a potion. Maybe to balance it only open it at skill mastery.
Please add more lights in the Frostcrag Spire because it's too dark, especially the vault. It's my favorite home in the game and the place was was nicely lit-up in the original, everything was bright and visible. But now it looks unfinished like a work-in-progress, as if the place is still renovating and requires to buy a lighting upgrade from the shop. The whole tower needs more candles everywhere, and the vault is a place where players spend a lot of time organizing their inventory, it should have tons of candles like in the original.
Also please reduce the sound effects of portals in the Frostcrag Spire, the constant swooshing can become tiring after a while.
- Kvatch slowly being rebuild the more time passes after completing the main quest
- City ruins near Fort Sutch
- Fix performance and bugs
- Buff to two handed weapons
Please add an option to suck the flaming atronachs toes, please and thank you 😊
everyone talking about adding features that werent in the OG but this is what we need. Fix the db door and armor shaders
I think it would be nice to have more support for the unarmed playstyle. There's only really a few items that affect Hand-to-Hand; Bands of Kwang Lao, Ring of the iron fist, generic fortify Hand-to-Hand gear, etc. It would be neat to get a weapon or two that classifies as 'Hand to Hand', like a cestus, katar, or the ability to enchant gauntlets with weapon-type enchantments; just to give unarmed combat more variety and have it scale a little better with Blade and Blunt.
It’d also be cool if I didn’t always draw my weapons when loading into a save.
In all menus, 'E' on the keyboard used to function as 'enter' and 'A/D' could be used to increase/decrease count. This is missing and is... incredibly frustrating, if a very small thing.
create spell/create enchant limits at 100 are sad. Could we please increase them?
Allow for lower level spawns in the leveled list, it's weird to see no low level equipment as you get stronger.
The Dark Brotherhood door is really toned down compared to the original, that was an interesting decision, could it be put back to the originals? It was MUCH more impactful.
A horse whistle would be great.
A keyring seems almost demanded to reduce clutter.
Capes/Cloaks/Lanterns would be great
The Illuminate spells don't seem to take effect in first person, I don't know if that's my hardware or if it's the game.
Please allow us to see carry weight when looting.
More map markers, i remember daggerfall let you create your own tabs, but some way to makr places you HAVEN'T explored vs ones you have would be immense.
A No fast travel/hardcore/survival difficulty, needing food/drink/sleep
Difficulty sliders, right now spongifying difficulty is not at all rewarding.
addendum: Color pallette is SO washed out compared to the original. vibrance would be appreciated.
Have an option to switch between level scaling and stat scaling for weapons and equipment
Also the deluxe edition weapons and armors weight increases when you request higher level gear can this be kept consistent instead of changing
• Fix Expert and Master difficulty or add more difficulty's between adept and expert,
• More video setting options for pc's with less Vram,
• First Person Horse Riding,
• Remove Horse name box whilst riding,
• Stop enemies from always targeting your horse,
• Restore the Dark brotherhood's entrance to make it similar to the original,
• Show the players current weight when looting,
• Add Quest sorting such as main quest, side quest etc,
• Mark as "Cleared" for dungeons, oblivion gates etc once finished,
• Better Inventory sorting system (Scrolls, potions, books, keys etc),
• Stop animals from reporting crimes,
• Add a way to customise your characters appearance mid playthrough,
• Option to scale the Hud size,
• Photo mode.
Other things I'd like but maybe more controversial:
• Remove levelled quest rewards - All weapons and armour should have fixed stats no matter the level you receive them, stats would only increase with your skills.
• Reduce XP gains from minor skills to be more in line with the original game,
• Fix the psychic guards who seem to just know that you committed a crime (I hate being caught when nobody else is around),
• Ability to call your horse,
• More variety with enemy spawns - I still want to see weak enemies later in the game and less bandits using glass equipment,
• Better and more diverse dungeon loot - often the oblivion dungeons feel lacking with their rewards,
• Hardcore mode (Sleep, eat and drink, less fast travel options maybe).
- Increase durability of gear. I go through so many hammers in a single dungeon and have to stop to repair broken gear after almost every fight.
- Subcategories in our inventory. Weapon and apparel types, favourites, keys, potions, tools, books, etc.
- The ability to change our appearance after leaving the sewers.
- A better sprint animation. The current one is a little goofy. When I run up a hill my face is almost touching the ground.
- Make stealth archery more fun by not having the enemy instantly detect us on the first hit.
- Mod support for consoles.
Add kill cams!! They were so cool in Skyrim!
I just want to know the A-Bomb glitch was fixed or being looked into. Any save file above 100 hours leading to slow animations, so leaving buildings took ages, fireballs never forming, Gates never collapsing, etc. Was a horrendous bug that could only get temp fix. I really want to know if they ever figured out a fix for it!
Please add extra content that far exceeds the reasonable scope for post release updates
I'd like the option to toggle damage against friendly targets so I stop accidentally killing friends in melees.
- Dual wielding of daggers/shortswords/axes
- Mounted combat
- Cooking
Change the appearance of the Dark Brotherhood door to match the atmosphere of the original similar to the appearance of the doors of the Ayleid ruins
I.e. dim the ambient lighting in the scene and add a red glow to the door elements
I've only seen one NPC sleeping so far, but their hands were clipping through the bed pretty bad.
Some sort of teleportation device at the end of a dungeon, so you don’t always have to back track to the entrance
blacksmithing, mod support and creation club content needs to be added they changed the map so why not change some other aspects of the game to improve it
Is it possible for the enemy level scaling to be adjusted, the meeting bandits with glass armour, or all elite deadra, or all mintaurs always take me out of it
A dye/armour paint system? While the armour/clothing available looks nice, there isn't much room for expression with what's currently available.
Subtitles are only for conversations you are in. It would be nice to have an option for subtitles on characters who are talking that you are not in a conversation with. For example, when I left nightshade for the statue in the Mephala quest, the statue started talking and I could not hear/understand what it said. Subtitles in situations like that would be helpful.
Some issues I encountered.
- Weapons cant hit bodies (dead ones), hits go through them.
- Make snappier UI
- Controlling UI elements with WASD, E and TAB
- AI not seeing through grated gates
- Horse controls are funky. If you turn camera in front of horse, and press forward horse will reverse. Maybe it's just something to get used to.
- Where the heck is first person riding camera?
- UI quick wheel is kinda buggy
- Stutters in overworld
- Charge the courtyard Kvatch bug/softlock.
- Enchantments on armor can be really distracting, after equipping Kvatch armor in third person it looks like I'm constantly burning. UPDATE: It was happening only until I left Kvatch. UPDATE 2: Noticing it sometimes will happen with any enchanted armor.
- Weird graphical bug where Jauffre and Martion have their robes extended to infinity while riding a horse.
- Performance in the Arena is atrocious.
- Sometimes equppied armor keeps changing textures, noticed if I change cell/ go through loading screen if I was invisible prior to activating doors or such. Happens mostly with Black Hand robe. Also sometimes theres weird stuff related to invisibility when dagger shows up but rest of the body is invisible and vice versa.
- Darkshroud gloves are invisible underwater.
- Inverntory subcategories/filters/sections missing
- There were two occasions where I had bug with doors that are changing cells. Once it happened in Imperial City where everytime I'd activate any door I'd get a popup that I can't sleep in an owned bed until I hard reloaded game. Second occasion was door to Applewatch where when I entered I got spawned between two doors 🤣
- Vampire hairs disappearing
- Daedric shrine voices cut out mid sentence and subtitles sometimes appear.
- Shield is able to be equipped with 2 handed weapons, and then you can see it in first person.
- 2 handed weapons damage seems a bit off compared to its speed and 1 handed weapons damage?
This is OBLIVION remastered not Skyblivion. Stop suggesting Skyrim unique features outside of QoL. It should be the same game with minor adjustments not a new experience
It's not in the top 10 mod downloaded. It's #17. As for endorsements, it has an unusually high ratio. Endorsement rates are roughly 1%. 1% of unique downloaders return to endorse the mod. But that one has an endorsement rate of around 20%. Every other mod in the 30k download area has 300-600 endorsements and that one has over 5k? I call shenanigans. Likely a push by the site-that-shall-not-be-named.
Continuing my suggestions:
Restore all removed content like the interior of the Dark Brotherhood entry way,
The cave with the peaceful spriggans,
The removed voices (Uuras, Mandil,...)
Armor types
Remove body types and put back male and female.
New dungeons / ruins to the game.
Brotherhood door changes.
Removed voices added back.
Can we maybe have a bit of an overhaul with vampires in oblivion... becoming one always seemed like it's punishment outweighed it's bonuses in the grand schemeof things... oh, and maybe make it so if you cure yourself you can become one again as the guy at the end of the cure quest basically says go find him if you need his assistance again... but you can't get turned again...
New game +
Please let us delete the spells in the spell menu like in Morrowind🙏
Leveled static loot:
In oblivion, all hand placed items in the game are (because of the balancing of level scaling) at the lowest possible quality (IE iron weapons, novice alchemy equipment, petty soul gems). More recent games have implemented leveled static loot, and I'd love to see that mechanic brought to Oblivion Re. Currently, all static loot is purely set dressing and unimpressive.
The option to remove the crosshair like from the og version if possible
Please by Akatosh let us SLICE UP DEAD BODIES AGAIN PLEASE.
Fix it so the world doesn’t level scale with you as severely
Make leveled quest rewards upgradable or allow them to level with you.
Make it so that alchemy equipment is always at the top of the alchemy tab/ bring back subcategories.
Issue I ran into: I used a console command to advance a quest that was bugged. I later made a new game and achievements were still disabled for the new game even though I hadn’t used cc on that save file.
It’s almost as if a lot of people didn’t feel the change to the game was necessary and appreciated the mod for returning things to as they were? Not everything is a conspiracy
I think adding some women and other races to the guards would go a long way for immersion.
Imperials should still be most represented in Cyrodiil, but the legions and the cities are supposed to be diverse.
We need difficulty sliders, please! Adept is way too easy and mindless, but expert is too grindy. Honestly cant play before a patch arrives
You think the guards in Imperial City shouldn't be Imperial?
Please fix the light spells. It's frustrating they only work some of the time.
They don’t work in first person. I agree, that needs to be fixed.
Expanding on the blades, you barely do anything with them outside the main quest
Need a fix for a bug where if you have a torch equipped and a shield : when pulling out a bow the shield is stuck to the bow. In game it can be fixed by going in and out of third person
I'd like an option to hide hud elements. Either a menu option or (maybe additionally) a button to hide HUD. This would make screenshots alot easier/better.
I'd also like an option to hide the mount name. Its not a major thing, but it is annoying seeing it flick on and off as i'm riding and happen to look at the horse.
Third thing would be an option to go first person while on mount.
Let us put the compass into the lower left corner like in the original.
Could you kindly consider adding the ability to transform into a werewolf like it was planned for the PSP release of the game? It's basically the only Elder Scrolls game that does not feature them.
Good luck to get levitation work properly in closed Oblivion cities. And the fact these spells were in Morrowind doesn't mean it is easy thing to implement. Mine suggestions at least don't break anything related to gameplay, only improve systems which are already in game.
You say that you shouldn't implement new stuff yet your suggestions was COOKING and DUAL WIELDING? wat
I agree Morrowind features shouldn't make it into Oblivion but neitehr should Skyrim's stuff. It's a remaster for a reason. Not TES VI. Not Skyblivion. Not remake.
Man, if only. Let us play a goddamn cathay-rhat khajiit finally, lol.
Spear and Shield from Morrowind would be cool.
No, most guards in Cyrodiil should reasonably be Imperial, but the legion should also have women and other races like they do in Skyrim, Morrowind, and the lore.
Hackdirt's residents and brethren are not ugly/unsettling-looking enough as they were in the original. Return our fishmen!
Better running animation would be nice
Can you fix the dwarven armor. I play a male character and while swapping around armors I noticed that the dwarven leg armor tends to clip into the character model belly.
I’m currently playing as a Nord and I’ve noticed this.
Not to minimod but anything that isn't a suggestion or is a comment on someone else's suggestion should go in #oblivion-chat
Remove horses' ability to report crimes - they have a non-zero value in the "Responsibility" stat which means they can witness crimes and alert other NPCs/guards.
Can we get HDR?
All animals need that function. Sheep can also call you out for things haha
I've tried to come up with realistic changes that don't impact the game that much
- Hide your horses name tag when you're riding it
- Option to edit your appearance in the main menu. Purely cosmetic, wouldn't impact gameplay at all and the option is already there at the end of the prison section so it seems reasonable. You don't need an npc or anything, just an option in the menu
- Ability to have no quest active. Sometimes I wanna explore without any big red markers telling me where to go
- Like everyone else has said, tweak the difficulties or add some more. Currently playing on the second easiest and it is quite literally impossible to die unless you fall asleep at the controller
- Toggling the crosshair off in the menu. Should be a very simple change.
Some more transformative changes that might be a bit too much to change in the remaster but aren't completely unreasonable like adding new systems or questlines
- Enemy aggro distance in the open world is so long. A wolf would rather chase you to the ends of the earth than give up.
- Enemies attacking your horse all the time. Really annoying and they'll often run past you to attack your defenseless horse
- Different colour filters would be nice. The game looks good but sometimes, especially at sundown, it can look very brown and washed out. Maybe just a classic filter for people who like the vibrant vibe of the original. Although maybe this is tied to how the lighting works and isn't just a colour filter
- When you jog backwards in 3rd person, your character leans unreasonably far back. It looks stupid. But maybe this is tied to how the movement works and would be too big a change
- Horse whistle to just spawn the horse next to you
I can see that some people would like that. I just honestly don't think female guards are immersive in a medievally oriented game.
I'm only saying that because the point was it would be more immersive. Many people would find it much less so. Because it is not that realistic.
- Text scaling for subtitles and HUD to 26px / 32px (at 1080p) or above (current is too small at large).
- Subtitles to include background panels to improve legibility
- Photo mode
We need sneak attack animations and all types of weapon finisher animations. The emperor's death animation felt so brutal. Imagine doing that as an Assassin. Think of other possibilities for attack finishers and animations.
Would love to see camping/cooking
Maybe a survival mode of sorts?
More non-combat features as a way of living in the world. With mods like frostfall being so popular I think a lot of people would enjoy that content.
Ability to mark locations as cleared. Will be especially useful with 60 Oblivion Gates
Player races should have different heights like in OG.
(Bug) Bruma house upgrades are now a quest item
Would love to see some big changes to the horse, like you said enemies shouldn't always focus down your horse
And I would love to be able to fight/cast/shoot from horseback. It would actually make thr horse exploration way more fun and worth it over fast travel
This may not be best place for this, but give me a damn physical copy I can purchase (with whole game on disk) I have gamepass and love playing for free but I am a physical collector and want to support with my wallet
It would be cool if they merged Skyrim, hammerfell, Morrowind, blackmarsh, elsweyr, and valenwood into one big game or made all those areas playable in a dlc for oblivion That's actually probably what they are doing for the new elderscrolls
Please give us 1st person horse riding, they are unusable now in terms of immersion for 1st person players. This design flaw was imported from skyrim, it was never an issue in the og
give us a lute or some instruments so we can be a bard more efficiently 💯 🔥
And body shape 💪
is fixing the horrible fps drops/stutter a suggestion?
Delete spells, remove completed oblivion gates from map or add a check mark that shows it’s completed also maybe the same for discovered areas. Like if you pass by a dungeon but you haven’t been it then it should be ghosted kind of and if you’ve at least been in there then it’ll be highlighted. Like I kno I’ve been past dungeons but haven’t been in them but not sure which ones I haven’t been in. Also an appearance editor.
I might be being quite impatient but since PC gamers playing the game on Game Pass had to fix their own game this weekend in regards to the recent hotfix. Could we please have an update to when this will be fixed? Hopefully today another hotfix will be uploaded. Thanks.
They need to fix the players' relationships with their parents who keep suggesting body 1/2 related changes
If a vampire power disappears from our shortcut wheel because our vampire level went down, it should automatically reappear once we increase our vampire level again. I find myself alternating between starved and fed as a vampire so its kind of annoying having to re-favorite powers all the time
Make an oblivion chat for this server I feel it'd be useful for the people that wanna discuss it
There is one
Easier to see soul gem charge especially in shops. Haggle on both sides of the shop screen. A (Cleared) notice on cleared dungeons. The amount of times NPC names dont appear when looking at them.
Rebuild Kvatch questline
Reworked Vampires QoL and different strains of vampirism (werewolves would be nice too no perk tree though to keep it feeling like oblivion)
A new map DLC similar to shivering isles or the Dragonborn DLC going to Solstheim
Fixed scaling enemies equipment and weapons to better match progression
Fixed shops scaling (no my level 20 HoK with 80 blade is not interested in the same 4 iron weapons and occasional dwemer axe thank you)
Staff making - really liked the idea of making a staff with the mage's guild questline would be cool to be able to make more
Barber and more customization options
Quickslot reworks, having only 1-8 as quick slots feels awful when coming back from skyrim especially if you tend to use a lot of gear/spells, just a small quality of life change being able to have a favorites list
something I would like to see is Survival Mode and can we get a Perma-Death with that
Fixed item encubrance. A sword doesn't weight 36 lbs, it would be unusable! And a daedric ax at over 60lbs? No way. Armors too, some are weighted ridiculously. 🤷
Photo mode!
Fix the glow effect on the DB door: https://www.reddit.com/r/oblivion/s/I3zSS4DYQU
After survival mode add fishing 💯
More accounts for the Lusty Argonian Maid 🙏🦎
Just performance. Crashed to desktop at an Elvish Ruin. The majority of these suggestions are beyond scope.
Fix the save problem I get disk full every time I try to save only quicksave works...
A lot of female NPCs have a sharp jaw/mouth. Looks angled upwards. I like most of the npc jank otherwise.
Alchemy filter option to exclude effects
Ability to recharge weapons in inventory by interacting with the weapon instead of interacting with the soul gem, don't boot us back to the menu after each soul gem use
Hidden/Archive tab for spells so we can declutter our spell book
it'd be really neat if they made the acrobatics dodge ability actionable, like you could hold block or buffer an attack during the dodge, also PLEASE GOD let us use multiple soul gems at once, or at least expand the inventory filters to make it easier to find stuff, i find scrolling for soul gems to refill one weapon in oblivion took longer than it did to refill an entire inventory in skyrim
I think one addition that would be really cool would be the option to have different filters! Filters to make the overall game look different, including an “original” filter. I think a lot of people would like that
- Carriage to Skyrim if game is installed
- Boat to Morrowind if game is installed
- Board a Pirate Ship leading to TES VI: Hammerfell & High Rock
Improved haptic feedback and trigger resistance on PS5, Photo mode, Survival/Hardcore mode, Fishing, Ability to mark map markers as complete, Inventory subcategories
Fix the bug where all races that the player character chooses, are the same exact height and physique. Or at least I hope it’s a bug…
ADD A FACE SCULPTOR! Now that characters can look amazing, I would love to see a face sculptor added, just like Skyrim. I love to change my characters appearance throughout the game, to imply growth. Scars, grey hairs, beards.
-Add a face sculptor like in Skyrim
-More hair and beard styles
Two handed weapons are practically useless. They don't do much more damage then the one handed variants, but swing considerably slower. They should either do significantly more damage then a one handed weapon, or swing faster.
Please just prioritise sorting the stuttering issues and overly heavy CPU utilisation before anything else, I can’t wait to jump in but the game is currently in an unfinished state
Quest/unique gear that scales with player level. Hate grabbing unique gear early and having it suck in ten levels.
Dark Brotherhood Door - 5 Children. Red Glow. Scary SFX.
For some reason it seems that enemies cannot look up. If you are on a hill. Enemies will swing their weapons looking at the floor. This was not and issue in the original so adding that back will be better for immersion imo.
In addition I get thrown out of immersion because there is an issue with SFX that get's stuck in space, or pulses on your character even without a debuff or any equipment. This is fixed by reloading but sfx fixes would be appreciated
Also going to repeat what people said but 2H weapons. Either a damage buff needs to be there for claymores or put back to the original speed
-
Also, funny memes aside, but maybe fix the VA outtakes?
-
If possible, add the OG bloom/lighting effects and filters back as a toggle-able option.
-
Proper optimisation for handheld PCs (ie Ally X, Legion GO, etc.)
-
More eye color options
-
Better body customizations
-
More hair options (why no bald)
I'm sure I'm not the first but please subsections to menus. Like alchemy split into gear, ingredients and potions
The menus for sigil stone enchantment and soul gem recharging don't have a selection mechanic for what you want to use/enchant/recharge. That means that if you accidentally hover over another item on the list while going to press the confirm button, it will either show you the stats of that item and affect that item. That makes it easy to accidentally target the wrong thing. A simple selection mechanic that overrides the hovering when you move to the stats side would be super helpful.
Enemies seem to prioritise attacking the player's horse above the player more than they should, and player's horse seems to rarely flee or fight back in combat. It would be better if enemies focus on the player (even if they're aggro before the player dismounts) and the horse should attempt to fight back or move away a bit.
Porkchop roams around the bloodworks but tbh I kind of like that
Wish I could delete custom made spells
Spoilers for shivering isles don't unspoil if you haven't played it yet
|| I think after becoming sheogorath, you should make changes to the player character. At the very least, after a few days of completing the final quest, change the players eye color to sheogorath's eyes. There should be CONSEQUENCES to becoming the mad god. As it is now it's just...you're sheogorath. That's it. At the very least changing the eye color says "you are not the same being you walked in as." Plus he did say he'd take your eyes later. And if you don't like it you can always showracemenu to change em back ||
More different variations of oblivion gate interiors
Extend loading screens by 1 or 2 seconds to give UE5 time to load everything so we don’t get a peek behind the curtain so to speak… also would be nice to be able to read the loading screen :p
- Better faces. The skin texture seems exaggerated and weird, and characters look too old. No matter how you change the sliders, characters look generally uncanny. This is one Oblivion feature I'm not nostalgic about.
- Higher damage for two-handed weapons. They're too weak.
- Faster projectiles. Bethesda always makes projectiles too slow.
fixing broken xbox game pass update is a good suggestion
Armor breaks down way top quick at double digit levels. Mine will break after a couple fights mid dungeon and I have to take 40 hammers with me
I'd love it if the map shortcut hotkey took you back to the last view you had of the map. Right now it seems that the hotkey takes you back to default map view, which means if you're in a dungeon you have to manually zoom back in
Allow the UI brightness to be adjusting separate from game brightness. The inventory is BLINDING.
Please please please prioritize adjusting the difficulty. It is stupidly easy on adept and broken on expert. Everything else can wait. Drives me nuts people are asking for additional features when the gameplay is fundamentally unbalanced.
This is the place where they’re taking suggestions ? Bethesda I respectfully ask that you add dual weild for daggers at least . Please I know it’s not in the spirit of oblivion but it opens up so many build options . Also PLEASE fix can we get a realistic damage setting where if we 1-2 shot enemies they hit us that hard back !
And maybe a vampire quest the Opposite of the Order of Virtuous Blood
Add werewolf content to the game
The remaster has different jump physics than the original and I would love to see this changed back. In the original, you had a ton of in-air control, which enabled you to jump up extremely steep inclines. I realize this allows you to go places you aren't really intended to go, but that's kind of the point. I had a lot of fun with that in the original.
why enemies become 12.25x stronger when you switch from adept to expert, they gain 3.5x damange and 3.5x health. Does not seem right, make something in between.
Ability to craft poison apples/poison drinks
Expansion to all the guilds/factions to include more/better endgame content instead of just sourcing income - examples would be being able to have followers from each faction assist you out in the world (ie a bodyguard from the fighters guild) or putting a hit out on a specific person as dark brotherhood (just more rp stuff that makes it more worthwhile to do the faction questlines)
Fishing
A way of saving potion recipes would be really great so you can recraft them easily
Hide Helmet option
I would love for the subtitles to include speaker name like Skyrim. When I walk into a town I have no idea who is speaking.
For example:
Martin: Blah Blah
I'd love to see options to minimize the HUD and specific elements of it for both immersion and screenshot purposes!
If it is possible, pls mak a call option for the horse. This would make traveling much easier. And if the horses would run away from a fight, that would be great. I mean, I love my brave shadowmere, but any other horse dies all the time. 😂
Wish I could favourite more items, I'm kinda tired of sifting through my copious amounts of alchemy ingredients to find my potion of damage fatigue.
A coop feature would be great
-
Sprinting Attack (& Sprinting Power Attack)
-
Fix Item Scaling so uniques are not permanently nerfed if you happen across an item 'too early' (just have them autoscale up with the player as they level?)
-
E/F/Space to confirm in menus. Enter is a poor choice, we don't have three hands!
-
Open Interior Map when we open the map in interiors. Also M to close map
-
2H weapons' speed was nerfed, which I think feels good - they have heft now - but their damage wasn't adjusted accordingly? Don't they need a relatively significant damage buff to make this change reasonable?
-
Prevent bandits etc from spawning with lore-unfriendly armor at higher levels, such as random daedric/glass bandits. This equipment should feel rare, should feel special.
Thank you! ❤️
More spells, spell effects and animations would be cool and ways to increase damage without using exploits and compounding weakness to get exploit level damage to make a full mage build viable without feeling cheesy. Magic is such a cool part of elder scrolls but feels so unsatisfying to use.
Also for alchemy having a way to filter what potions you can make and it automatically select ingredients from your inventory to make that potion rather than continuously selecting and unselecting filter by effect would be nice.
Oh, a split in the Alchemy inventory tab would be good. One for potions and one for ingredients and utensils.
The Oblivion Gates are very laggy. There's a ton of particles and stuff. Also rain. If those could be optimized, that would be cool.
Is it possible to add console commands to Xbox and PS? That would help players fix bugged quests and other stuff
Jump button is tap for a small jump and hold for a big jump.
Would give you much more control of your movement when jumping and running on stuff.
Replace Rats with Daedrats as you get higher in levels.
We know they exist and are little you know what to deal with.
Add a visual cue to your weapon when it is coated with a poison and also on enemies for the entire duration of the poison. Would be helpful for an alchemist build and make poison feel more real to see it reflected in the world beyond just the one on+hit effect.
Would be fantastic to see the soul trap effect toned down. The effect is overwhelming when you're hitting something up close
Ninroots having a glow to them so they're easy to spot on top of the audio would be nice. can't remember if that was in the OG game or was a mod I added but would be a nice QoL touch. it would enhance the mystical, upbeat vibe of Oblivion's world too
Unfix floating Paint Brush
In the potion crafting menu, after having selected one ingredient, I'd like to be able to click the slot of the 2nd ingredient, which should then filter the list of ingredients to show only the ingredients with at least one effect in common with the first ingredient
It would be nice if we could still move around when opening the quick menu Or time would stop with the menu open.
My Suggestions:
-
A keychain subfolder to store all those keys under one entry at the root of the miscellaneous tab
-
Crossbows
Edit:
3. The ability to remove created spells
- Backpacks similar to what's available in Skyrim anniversary edition to increase carry weight, bonus points for saddle bags on your horse so that your horse can be a mobile chest with limited space available
- Survival mode, it worked for Skyrim but i feel like it would be more fun in oblivion. i want tents, hunger, tempreture etc. possibly including some new items focused on this like water bottles etc.
- Rebuild Kvetch after the main quest. let the player contribute to making it a full town again by including quests for rebuilding shops and facilities to make it a decent post-game quest line
- Lower resolution texture pack, the game looks BEAUTIFUL as is but the high resolution textures take up a lot of VRAM on older GPUs and on handheld devices
- Bring back scroll duplication lol (somewhat a joke) its hilarious to vomit a thousand soul gems into your bedroom lol
Give console players a way to reset class/major/minor skills in game that doesn’t require any console commands
-
Return the original d-pad quickslot format. On the controller, I'd like to be able to hit and hold any direction on the d-pad, then scroll to the spell I want to use. Or, just hit the direction on the d-pad to select the spell I want to use. This should include diagonals.
-
I was a little disappointed regarding the acrobatics nerf. In the original, when reaching 50 acrobatics, you got access to the coolest dodge roll with incredible range. Now you get access to a nerfed version at level 25.
That's all, thanks so much!
It will never happen but a form of Transmog would be amazing. I know we can craft our own gear and add enchantments to specific gear.. I still would love the option if it was possible.
Increase the virtue points to 15 per level but for balance make Luck take 5. Also allow 20 training sections per level but allow manual levelling . Lastly increase the amount of xp gained per level so we can get to at least lv 66.
The game cannot save, no disk space bug needs to be solved urgently. This ought to be one of the first changes made to the game.
I can't even play the game despite working myself through all of the most common online "fixes".
Add skooma addiction mechanic
The fact that players can't have the same hair as Valen Dreth when playing as a dunmer seems like an oversight to me. Also its odd how there are so many hair color options, but eyebrow colors are a fraction of that. My dunmer has white hair but has to have black eyebrows.
Fix player race heights.
There should be a way to remove spells from your spell book, once you start making custom spells and level up, your spell list becomes unmanageable.
ENCHANTING has 2 huge bugs!!! Half the time you can't go thru with enchanting (a fix is to name before you choose the stuff), then you can't select attribute to fortify (no fix, just luck). If you were able to select an attribute other than strength then you have to double press the save effects and create for it work, otherwise if you just press save effect then it won't let you create.
Maybe not even delete but archive them👌
Detect life could be tweaked. It's very faint now, not that I don't appreciate toning it down from the og.
And the line of sight fade out seems to affect invisible people as well, which is really rough when you're trying to find invisible people.
Suggestion: Make the Blackwood Company Armour darker like it was in the original, instead of the same colour as the steel armour.
Going to echo some other people here, but I’d be happy with quest fixes like “Go Fish”! The completionist part of me is about the lose his mind because I can’t turn in 12 of my 13 scales.
A reminder that this channel is for suggestions only. Conversations, including ones about a particular suggestion, should go in #oblivion-chat.
Please add the ability to disable HUD for increased immersion and fun factor.
More horse armor, I'll pay
Enemy health bars have a strange, slow blur/fade effect. It makes it hard for me to see how much damage I’m dealing. In Skyrim and morrowind it’s very clear how much damage you’re dealing because it’s instant.
Minor gripe.
- Todd Howard's Fridge DLC
- Increase passive NPC spawns to at least five times the current amount
- Conduct a comprehensive optimization pass on the game (avoid relying solely on upscaling, as that's just the cherry on top)
- Add an option to disable anti-aliasing for consoles
- Speed up eye adaptation and tweak foliage shadows for Series S
- Introduce a unique item tag in the inventory and loot screen
- Provide more customization options for motion blur optimization across all devices and platforms
- Enhance environmental and ambient sounds in cities, the world, and dungeons
Make the imperial watch armor and imperial palace armor obtainable for roleplaying and for people that like to collect all armors and please add the mythic dawn armor that can’t be obtained as well.
Allow me to hide my helmet even when I'm wearing it. (But still gain the benefits of wearing the helmet.)
Add a separate "clothes" slot so I wear cool clothes when in 3rd person, but still get the benefits of armour.
Please bring back first-person horse riding!
Fix the performance... I shouldn't stutter every 5 meters on a 5080 / 9800x3d.... wt is this? 60 quid for this garbage
disable Raytracing (theres a mod for that) it saves some FPS
Sprint animation needs a rework. Looks SO goofy lol
Make the sprinting animation more goofy.
Please, please, PLEASE revise the movement on console. It goes from a slow walk into Usain Bolt with just a nudge of the stick. It's especially jarring/immersion breaking in towns and interiors.
I'm sure this has been requested, but I want to add to the mountain of requests.
An artificer NPC that you can go to and bring your leveled items to your current level.
- A toggle that makes the favorites menu pause the game
- Currently my activate keybind is "E" but for looting, notifications, and some dialogue events I have to press "Enter", let me rebind those to be fulfilled by the Activation "E" key
- Big-Head mode - classic bobblehead style game option
- Add notifications to the top left of the screen for if an enemy resists your spell
- Subsections for inventory categories, especially alchemy/potions
- A page two for the favorites menu
My only suggestion is a physical release.
I would like a Lethal Difficulty option : 5x damage dealt, 5x damage received. Have a truly hard experience that can't be resumed to HP stacks for the enemy
Please change the blunt perks to emphasize the silence rather than the shield(like the master one), since shield will not affect your survivability late game due to the 85 armor rating cap.
Can we have a Uber driver at every town in a Toyota Prius that offers discount rates on the weekend for wizards and painted fingernails for males only. I’m not sure I’m understanding the message.
Please make the dark brotherhood sanctuary door glow sinisterly and make that eerie noise again
Change Difficulty Level. Add something thats in between adept and master
I want to be able to see my skill ups in the corner of my screen OVER the top of any menu/lock/alchemy please
Suggestions for this chat: only allow the following reactions to help get better concessions on what people want. ❌ ✅
Fix performance
Very minor nitpick, but the inventory needs fixing. Subcategories of items, possibly a keyring tab, sorting magic by school. Oh also, sometimes the NPCs sound muffled, like they’re talking through a pillow
I’d probably like the inventory to sort more important/commonly used items to the top. I ended up shortcutting the repair hammer and torches to my wheel
Make the Dark Brotherhood gate moodier. It used to have an ominous red glow.
It also originally had 5 children depicted, and now it has 7, which is weird because it conflicts with the lore; the Nightmother had 5 children.
Addition sliders in character creation for weight would be pretty cool! Nothing crazy just to give yourself some extra unique looks.
In the Deluxe edition items:
Both the Cataclysm Dagger and the Order Dagger weigh the same as their Shortsword counterparts (At least their lvl 20 variants)
The weight is roughly correct for shortswords. Seems like an oversight? The daggers weight should be about halfed to be in line with other daggers of their class.
change the goofy sprint animation to make it stand more straight up please
Let people edit and delete custom spells please!!!
Make the Dark Brotherhood gate moodier. It used to have an ominous red glow.
Can we have the spooky glow and sound for the dark brotherhood door back please? I know it’s largely symbolic, but the first time you see and hear that pulsating sound stays with you.
---Roleplay suggested content----
Marriage options and having the spouse live in your home or vice versa
better placement of objects (rotating the object to fit in the display case)
Armour and Weapon stands in player homes
Hide Helment option - Automatically Equips during combat/unsheathing weapon
Town NPC events - maybe a dark brotherhood member kills a townie, thieves guild thief getting caught/chased by guards, encountering fighters guild memebers in a dungeon or out in the wild, etc
Slow walking speed increased to be the same as NPCs walking with you
release a version of the uninhibited radiant AI that massacred entire cities
Not sure if these were already mentioned but;
Please change the zoom for the local map, separate tab was easier access and i didn't learn how to access until multiple hours through the game
Less needed but, i miss the backflip animation for acrobatics in the original, would love to see it come back again
And i know so many people have mentioned already but please please give us the difficulty slider back, it made it easier to tailor the game to each player rather than set difficulties that feel too easy or too hard
Difficultly adjustment to close the gap on adept and Expert
We need barbers in big cities
Please fix the lighting and the model for the Dark Brotherhood door: The Night Mother had 5 children, not 6. https://www.reddit.com/r/oblivion/s/I3zSS4DYQU
Difficulty needs to be fixed before anything else. Adept so easy it takes away any point to combat and expert way too hard and unbalanced
OG Classic HUD and OG green color filter as an optional settings, please.
That’s why I even joined this! Please fix the difficulty!
Fix the damn stutters
I'm really, really, really pleased I haven't seen anyone request argonian or khajit breast mods,
In the character creator, the origin options dont do a very good job at stating what they actually do. for example each origin option should say +--% or whatever of a certain trait to make it easier to tell what they are actually there for.
Make Spriggans and Flame Atronachs even more thicc
Oh I just remembered. In Skyrim, you could see what type of soul was in a soul gem in parentheses. Can we get that back?
Deletion of spells.
Difficultly gap between adept and expert.
- more damages for two handed weapons
- make some loot rarer, I mean I find bandits with deadric, ebony etc armor that's non sense. Why bandits have so much valuable equipment, except eventually a boss dungeon
- map marker for house player
I believe on pc if you press f or maybe h it shows what attributes are changed. But it should just show it by default.
If you do add mod support it would be real cash money of you to add something like ESL so we can go over the 255 plugin limit
Could we have an option to disable both low health vignettes AND the sneaking vignette 🥷
Official Mod support would be great
There should be a detail button that shows soul gem soul size
Hello! I was wondering if we could get some guidelines on what kind of feedback the dev team is looking for specifically? Is this primarily for QoL changes, or for like actual new content suggestions?
Add drop in drop out multiplayer
while looting and hovering over gear there should be a tooltip telling you what type of gear it is, light or heavy etc Or let us use the H button prompt while looting to display details
Colored world map
It would be nice to have an option to disable the compass, so the clairvoyance spell could be more useful
A reminder that spamming suggestions, or another person's post is against the rules, and could be seen as trolling #rules
dark brother hood door more like the original
Fix the stutter 👍
Better inventory management, sorting filters, search bar, stack weight.
It would be lovely if we could "place" books on empoty shelves and objects in display cases in playerr houses.
I think it would be cool to change the music loop like this:
Once you enter a fight, stop the current music that is playing and start the battle music. Once the battle is over return to the exact same position from the last music title and continue playing that song so it doesnt always jump around the music titles so often
A Hardcore mode with tweakable settings such as hunger/thirst, weather and placeable tents that you can sleep at.
Custom Map Markers - sometimes theres POIs that aren't labeled on the map that would be nice to keep track of and label on the map or even writing notes on the map under existing markers
An optional setting where any npc can be killed regardless of important or not (such as morrowind)
UI
- Option to make entire UI smaller
- Toggle between world and local/interior map
- Better shortcut keys to access map/interface/quests etc.
- Dungeon "cleared" flag
- Inventory filter to show equipped items
- Space bar key to confirm prompts
- Options to show/hide different UI elements
- Left mouse button to page through books
Animations
- Could my character walk upright instead of looking like he has back problems?
- Less ridiculous looking sprint animation
- Better, more realistic jump physics
Gameplay
- Hit/shove ability when holding bow (like in Skyrim)
- dedicated key to retract drawn arrow
- Dialogue Camera Transition OFF setting - stop forcing first person! Leave it at regular gameplay camera, i.e. as it is in Skyrim.
Other
- Colour filter options, such as recreating the original game's colour palette. Think Shadow Of The Colossus remake.
Map zoom. Map should open to current level: inside city or cave if in one. Or add another tab within map for local map instead of zooming. Also custom, permanent map markers.
Blackwood armor looks the same as steel, nothing like the original game.
Weapon enchantments run out too quickly.
Would be cool to be able to get the mythic dawn armour.
I dunno if anyone has said this yet, but a buff to the dodge mechanic would be primo.
The ability to bind it to one key (or like, drop it on the B/Circle button for gamepad users, since I don’t think that button has a use in combat?) to make it less clunky to pull off in combat than hitting block and jump simultaneously.
I would also add a few frames of invincibility during the actual animation, if possible. Given the extended reach most monsters have — like the minotaur, which can seemingly hit you from like ten feet away — it would be good to have a few grace frames to make the dodge more viable.
Oh, a bag for the Keys would be great, that u not have to scroll through all your Keys...have great day🤗🤗🤗
Please for the love of god fix the stutters and frametime dips.
Fix the constant crashes, ive even done a ddu and took off my overclock thinking it was my overclock, sure enough i still crash
Would also like to see some kind of inventory update, its very slow navigating finding my heal potion mid fight, spending like 40 seconds to find my magicka or health potions
Time passes super fast on weather, clouds, sunrise & sunset. Can you slow those animations down so we can enjoy the sunrise and different stuff more?
You can see the shadows racing across the ground and the clouds form in the sky amazingly fast haha
Something simple that could add a lot of atmosphere is something like a solar eclipse event everyone talks about or maybe a comet ☄️ you’re gonna be able to see for a couple nights and that can be in the rumor section. We need more life in the world pretty much is what I’m getting at.
Remove levelled loot tiers to have uniques scale with your character’s level automatically.
Remove enemy level scaling to the point where at you at least no longer have lower level mobs go extinct.
Both of these things are immersion breaking and were very popular mods for 06blivion.
Can we get a house in the imperial city that's not a shack on the waterfront.
Could we perhaps have the ability to infect NPCs with vampirism, it would add a hell of a lot to vampire playthroughs,
The thoughts of going through chorrol for example infecting everyone through biting them in their sleep and a separate option to feeding, or perhaps even just a 50/50 chance whether they get infected or not.
Ofcourse this would cause a lot of deaths and unintended issues with AI but I just see it as an extra option people who play as vampire have at their disposal since trying to play as one now is just pure stress with no fun rewards.
Also imagine going to hack dirt for example, and infecting everyone there after you have finished the quest line. Or before if you don’t care, then u have a town of vampires in the wilderness that could go about and feed which would be really damn cool. And if they die to sun damage then so be it.
Please think about this 🙏 it would be such an amazing addition but if it isn’t something you could implement then could you allow console players access to console commands so we can force infect that way.
Thank you Bethesda for remaking my childhood and thank you virtuous for bringing it to us in such a stunning manner
Please make it so I can set the damage output I do according to Adept difficulty and the damage output enemies do set to Expert difficulty
Add creation club content for console and pc players. Please add mod support and resources 🙏
Also I miss the old quick wheel on the d pad how you would push a single direction for what you want a lot faster and immersive
Suggestion: Make the ‘Black Bow Bandits’ bow black.
More armor styles.
Like porting over the armors from Skyrim and elder scrolls blades.
- Default local map while inside city and interiors.
redesign the inventory, with more separation between different types of items (separate ingredients, potions, and keys, for example).
I like the remaster the way it is. And adding some/most of the suggestions would make it a different game. I think these suggestions are perfect as a optional mod. So the remaster stays true to the original. So add mod support 🙂
Console player here. I have a few QoL features I think should be added to the game.
Stick deadzone settings.
A favorites page on the inventory menu so you can favorite things you wouldn't necessarily want on the quick menu. Things like potions, alchemy items, etc.
Extra quick menu slots. Give us the ability to cycle between 2 or 3 quick menus by pressing a button like right bumper while the quick menu is pulled up.
Give us the ability to continue moving while the quick menu is pulled up. Also, give us an option to have time be slowed/stopped when pulling up the quick menu during combat.
Pressing X(sheathe) while a bow is drawn will u draw it instead of stowing the bow.
Not really a QoL feature but it would be nice to be able to hold a spell after casting it and releasing the casting button fires the spell. The wind up time on them can make it difficult to hit enemies. Same thing would be useful for staffs.
Bug fix - You cannot bind the select button in the rebinding menu. You can change the wait to another button but you cannot change it back without resetting and no other actions can be binded to select.
Hello, 1st of all I would like to bring attention to an animations issue with shields: in the Inventory Screen when you equip a shield he firmly holds it as you would a shield with closed fist, but outside of that in the 3rd person animations the left hand is just limp and open as if he holds nothing
Dark Brotherhood door is extremely disappointing... missing the light/sound/atmosphere from the original.
I would like more granular difficulty settings like in Starfield, so you can individually adjust things like:
- Damage dealt
- Damage received
- Rate of experience gain
- Carry Weight
- Disease Strength
- Potion Strength
- Environmental (trap) damage
Etc.
Let us choose the picture associated with a custom class
mark cleared areas on map!
Please put wayshrines and standing stones on the map, or allow us to place custom markers.
Best suggestion I have? Provide official modding tools/kit. 90%+ of everything requested in this channel can be (or has already been!) done by mods. This approach also doesn’t force changes on people who prefer the current state of the game and allows everyone to customize their own experience.
- Diffulculty scaling
- Rebalance fall damage
- Sprint animation
- HUD - indoor map layout for caves esspecially
- Automatic ability select
- Weigth indicator
- Custom marker
- ability to look around from npc when talking
- Dubbel zoom while aiming with bow and arrow
I’d love an option to allow the previous style health, willpower and fatigue location on the left
Hello, mod support or at least a tool that takes into account Gambryo and Unreal Engine communication to facilitate modding
German voice over pls
Dawnfang and duskfang have lost their ancient look and look too pristine and kind of toy like.
soul gems should show contained souls with a (tag) similar to Skyrim
You can, you just need to select an existing class prior to making your own, then your new class will have the same image - at least that's how it worked on OGblivion
-
Customizable difficulty options. Like in Starfield where I can change both enemy and player damage.
-
Photo mode! I'm on Xbox and even a basic function would do wonders. This game so beautiful!
-
Ability to customize the UI a bit. I'm a player that likes minimal stuff on screen while playing.
Creation club and the ability to delete custom spells
Can we please have an option on console to change the graphics settings so we can get back the original vibrancy of the game? Please?
Is spell leveling sped up? I got destruction 100 by level 15 through regular use and no training. It used to take much longer and be a real chore, which wasn’t great, either. I’d like a happy medium.
Why's my Altmer is shorter than every other kinsmen?
Fix the height issue, please.
A TES VI suggestions page so we can offer suggestions and ideas while its still in development
I was trying to decorate my houses and can't put the items on the shelves there's like an invisible wall, maybe improve the picking up objects to decorate
Quick slot wheel to pause world like other menus and ability to reach recharge menu from weapons instead of soul gems
spelling and grammatical error in Breton Colovia char creation screen: "Colovia inhabitants, such as yourself, are known for their autonomy, including toward the rest of the Empire. Your inherited the wilfulness of your forebearers" <- should say "you inherited the willfulness of your forebearers"
Hello, it would be good to have a French audio version.
Better enemy AI. So they react to others getting into battle. The enemy should see another enemy get hit with an arrow and just stand there.
Suggestion: I would like if possible to add Skyrim-like hand animations when holding magic on left hand with no shield and also Spears would be a great addition to weapons, Avowed did it and it works, TES is a much better game and it is a shame to not have them.
The old German voice output would be great or properly functioning subtitles.
Let us make Skooma in alchemy 😈😈
Way to remove the ghost bodies in the Anvil player house
Sneak Attacks should contribute to your sneak skill as well as your weapon skill. Right now they only contribute to weapon skill.
I want a Tool to place Objects in Shelves/ to decorate my house
Maybe give the option to lock items in place with disabled physics
I spent way to much time on trying to get a sword into a weaponrack
Fix Daedroth tails meshing through the ground and their roar animation after a kill.
Some NPCs seem to get stuck in place and have trouble getting through doors.
Ranged summons have a hard time hitting floating enemies like ghosts and wraiths, their spells seem to go under them where their legs would be.
Fix kvatch questline in the courtyard part.
Melee range for NPCs needs to be fixed, enemies seem to think your closer then you are which results in them just missing attacks often.
Enemy NPCs seeking you out when your attacking them with bows from sneak, they mostly just stand there making killing them way to easy.
Suggestion: Bonuses to skills provided by things such as the Skeleton Key, Night Mothers Blessing, Grey Princes Training and Vampirism seem to increase the base skill value -- it should probably increase it as a "temporary" additive bonus, visible in green text so we can still level them from their original values. I think we miss out on some experience as it is now.
It might be more beneficial for yall to sort through these if you use a voting system more akin to what the valheim devs are doing over on their suggestion page
love the remaster so far but the lockpicking feels easier, and the tumblers seem slower compared to the original. not a real complaint but i found the sound cues and challenge the original gave was enjoyable.
Please add separate difficulty sliders for incoming and outgoing damage.
More voiceovers!
Fix player height to accurately match your chosen race. Wood Elves should not be as tall as Nords. I have a feeling that the devs broke something related to scaling though and so it won't be fixed internally, because there's no possible way it slipped by QC without notice.
Being able to fight in the arena more than once a week
I do miss being able to slightly increase difficulty as I got more powerful in the original, which is why I liked the slider, but I think this could be fixed with an added difficulty between adept and expert, and another between expert and master.
When using a controller, can the quickslot menu freeze time when open? And can we have an extra wheel of quickslots, with the ability swap between wheels while the quickslot menu is open?
Please, restore the French dubbing of the original game 🙏
Suggestions:
-Let us see & sort by the Value to Weight ratio of an item (ex: an Iron Arrow would be 10, at 1 gp value and 0.1 weight). It makes effectively looting much nicer.
-Give us a way to delete/forget spells. It's really hard to constantly scroll through your spellbook looking for something, especially when you only have 8 hotkeys which have to be shared with weapons (and when you get spells randomly added to your spellbook by quests). I know this would be difficult as it has big implications for spellcrafting/enchanting as they're linked but it would be very nice (maybe creating a spellbook makes you forget the spell so you can re-learn it later for free?).
A difficulty between adept and expert would be nice. But honestly it would be great if we could just customize the exact incoming/outgoing damage multipliers so everyone's happy.
Not sure if this is a good place, but please fix the underwear clipping through glass greaves and some other pants. Not sure if it only affects female Khajiit, but that is where I noticed it.
Like many have said...would LOVE a photo mode. Beautiful game needs a Photo Mode!
This won't please purists, but I'd like to experience Skyrim's combat system a bit more. Spells, dual wielding, etc.
Oblivion's is really old-fashioned, and even if the nostalgia is felt for the first few hours, the gap with modern gameplay is back in full force.
Fight animations. Some are weird.....for example when I fight against wolves, I register damage even if their animations didn't start, or they do the jump and bite animation and It counts like they hit me two times.
Not a wolf exclusive problem. I feel like often I receive damage before my enemies get to start their combat animations, with imps, rats and Goblins. Also I hate how the enemies stop moving to attack. I can continuously back off while shooting them because when they get in front of you, then stop, wait like one second and start their combat animations.
Also, have a dedicated tab for books and potions in your inventory, and let you see if you have already read that book
Autorun and sprint don't work at the same time, one cancels the other. I should be able to press Q and then Shift to sprint automatically (or hold down Shift and press Q, then release both to just start sprinting automatically)
UI customization. Please allow us to make the UI elements smaller, and an option to move the health/stamina/mana to the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Please allow us to disable POIs and Quest Markers on the compass if we want a more immersive experience.
Restore Blackwood armor color and decorations
Almost every dragon on imperial insignia is wrong and missing diamond on top
Steel gauntlets got some strange leather mittens, looks especially terrible when using on touch spells, in original there was just simple leather gloves
Please add a hotkey to switch between the local and global maps, as an alternative to clicking the circle or zooming in the whole way to get to local every time you open the map.
Please add the ability to hide spells.
I don't want to delete them in case I end up accidentally deleting a slot, but I don't want to scroll through 200-ish spells everytime I pop open that menu and scroll through to try and find the one I actually want to use.
Please fix the weapon duribility formula so that it doesn't modify weapon damage to 50% at 100% weapon health. It's should be that 100% health weapon does 100% damage. This is why enemies feel like damage sponges at higher difficulties and you have to enchant/use spells.
All of the “make this game into a Skyrim DLC” suggestions should really just be rolled into “official mod support”
Your Summoned Ghost should only be able to take damage from silver/magic/daedric weapons like normal ghosts
Killing the gray prince at the end of the arena questline shouldn't be a crime if you've done his quest
Some NPCs are bugged when they sleep wearing half armour half civilian clothes
A keyring to hold all our keys
Toggleable UI for screenshots (or photomode)
More armourless headwear like circets or hats- wouldnt mind cloth/work gloves either
Maybe some enemies would be less inclined to fight based off fame/infamy or gear (yes highway man I will gladly give you 100 gold while im decked in full daedric armour) or atleast wont be willing to run to the ends of the earth to kill you (extremely territorial mudcrab that wont let me fast travel)
I want a badisches Voiceover!
If it’s possible, please restore the varying weapon ranges and swing animation speeds based on item weight. As far as I can tell, every weapon of the same class has the same speed and range, which takes away the utility of the Katana and Dai-Katana, and the unique qualities of almost every melee weapon. A good example of another weapon that is hurt by the change is the Daedric Claymore which is the heaviest and slowest claymore but had the most range in OG because it was the longest, next to the Elven Claymore I believe.
Also the attack ranges of some enemies extend much further than their animations would suggest, making melee combat feel off in a lot of encounters. The original had precise and intuitive hitboxes, which made the melee combat feel consistent and made it much more viable and interesting.
I really love the new combat system, but it could really benefit from some tweaks here and there.
Fingleam makes the world way too bright in the day
I would love to see a buff to hand to hand or something so I can at least improve my dmg above the cap with 100 strength and 100 hand to hand. If you’re trying to be a monk on expert you might as well forget it
Morrowind boomer here but please make random bandits in fort dingleberry not be in full daedric armor any level past 20. Make lower level enemies be capable of spawning at higher levels. It becomes impossible to acquire a lot of alchemical ingredients at higher levels due to scamps fire atronachs etc not spawning at all
Please adjust hand-to-hand. I can kill an enemie nearly as fast with a unenchanted and unpoisend shortsword and 30 blade skill as I do with 90 hand-to-hand.
The changes to how fatigue no longer influences damage and the fact that you can no longer knock out enemies with your fists if their fatigue hits 0 have nerfed this playstyle. And it was already weak compared to weapons in the original.
Now with no knock-outs, no reduced damage from enemies because of lowering their fatigue (as fatigue is no longer part of the damage calculation) and a reduced ability to increase the small amount of damage you do with fortify fatigue (also because stamina is no longer part of damage calculation) has made it way worse compared to other combat styles and compared to how it was in the original game.
Please make some changes to damage calculation for hand-to-hand, to keep it viable in later parts of the game or higher difficulties.
Let us interact with dead bodies and be able to shoot them in the head with arrows and be able to lift them up and throw them off of stuff easier like the OG
Allow skills and attributes to benefit from levels above 100.
Certain effects like fortify skill/attribute become useless late game since things like damage calcs cap at skill/attribute level 100.
More dlc, armor stands, weapon stands, marriage, edit hair/face after sewers.
We have a problem in one of the missions and in the adjacent magic guild, you cannot enter the room or cave. In the mission Cheydinhal Recommendation
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv8VFxiqdJ8
Don't know if it's been suggested yet, but what about a flesh sculpture to customise our appearance.
Leave dropped weapons in enemy inventory until either picked up or looted
Just to add to all these suggestions, but yes a post-sewer character editor is needed! Just a barber would suffice, or even a special flesh sculptor like Skyrim!
-
More sliders for eye shape and lip shape. I want round, doe-shape eyes. I cannot do this with the current sliders. Same with lips. I cannot have small, heart-shaped lips. I'm forced to have huge peanut shaped lips that I can pucker. There are 15 nose sliders to make a really custom nose, but not for eyes and lips?
-
Longer hairstyles for females (males too.)
-
Makeup under the eyes. I can use the bruised option for basic red, but it would be nice to change that color.
-
Item sorting in inventory.
-
Marriage (this request is a long-shot, but I'd thought to mention it.)
-
Pants for females. I'm fine with skirts, but make pants available too.
-
More head gear options that show the face. (Another steep request, but thought to mention it.)
THE MAP
- When opening the map inside a building, have it default to the internal map rather than external
- I'd suggest splitting the internal and world map onto separate tabs like in original (yes I know it kinda is like that already but it feels way worse.)
- Zoom out/in on the internal map
- On controller swapping to the internal map feels like it takes forever as you have to go all the way up the zoom scale via trigger before getting it and when you do finally get it, your panned in some random direction and have to then find the map itself
Hello, please add Russian subtitles!!! Your game has a huge number of Russian-speaking fans all over the world. There is already a ready translation of the original game, so it will not take you much time to adapt it.🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
My personal wishlist;
- Having skills and attributes be meaningful in some way if increased past 100 via buffs and such.
- Some sort of decorator mode where you can more easily place objects precisely as desired. (This is impossible with the grab functionality.)
- Some useful purpose behind the misc items that have 0 value. (Maybe a crafting system that utilizes them?)
Please keep in mind this channel is for suggestions and feedback only! If you would like to report a bug, please let us know by ticket here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1402/oblivionrecat/287/feedback/1135 Additionally, please do not 'bump' a suggestion as this is considered spamming
an option to turn off item / harvesting outlines would be nice
Length of Horse Reins
Seems like a silly fix but it really really bothers the horse riders playing. Please fix the length of the horse reins, currently they're comically long and completely ruin any sort of immersion riding. I have reference pictures to help see the issue!
Its small but such a big QOL fix. 💙
https://imgpile.com/p/SxJbJjh#gcBayzF
photomode, appearance change, better spell and item filters, adjustment to the difficulty between adept and expert. having lots of fun so far but these are a few things I've noticed could improve qol
Make the scales work again!!!
Oh! Make the inventory of the player open on default when opeing chests and stuff as im sure some players might struggle to figure out how to store stuff in their home chests at first like i did
Please let us attack, at least with bow while on horse
Daggers! Because of the changes to them, there are a couple things that could be nice:
-
The Crimson Eviscerator- has absorb strength on strike, but since daggers now scale with Agility, it should be changed to absorb agility
-
Since daggers are so much more useful now, please add an amber and/or madness variant in the shivering isles- its the only weapon missing!
Let my khajiit have a mustache
Please put back the animated ZOOM-IN effect when NPC's talk. Right now it cuts to a zoomed-in shot, instead of actually zooming like in the original game. Please add this as an option, it's so charming and a big part of the original vibe
using the shortcut wheel on console should slow or stop time
additional shortcut slots for console
let us assign items/spells to the directional arrows on the controller
Would love an appearance change NPC like the skyrim face sculptor 😁
^ I second this
expanded radiant AI like giving us the option to enable low level processing for all NPCs in the game so they do and react to thing going on in that cell when the player isn't there. We have beefier systems now and it's more fun to stumble across NPC being up to no good in an un (directly) scripted fashion. It makes the game world much more dynamic
Dont be afraid to add QoL improvements to modernize the game and make it better (like what you guys did with sprint) the OG Oblivion is still there for purists
Add equipment variety to enemies especially regular ones - regular bandits and marauders both rocking mithril armour with ebony weapons is weird (who the hell is selling gear to these guys everyone I go to sells steel)
Weight of items is too damn heavy for what they are and should be based off the item itself not tier (ie a steel longsword should weigh the same of a daedric one)
Armourer at level 100 should just prevent armour degradation instead of making it so you only need to carry 1 hammer, it can be annoying to constantly repair after a fight - another option could be that its automatically repaired outside of combat (since armour quality drops when fighting)
-
Return of first person view on horses (for my immersion!)
-
Please let us delete spells we’ve made.
Removing Fatigue as part of the damage calculation was a huge mistake:
Physical relied on it to keep up with magic damage, now physical damage cannot scale into endgame and relies on some type of magical hybrid build or building around elemental damage, all of which is done substantially better with touch spells.
Physical damage is the worst damage type in the game by orders of magnitude now.
Was adding more stability and reducing shader stutter already mentioned? The game looks amazing but it really underperformes
Character height should represent the height of the chosen race just like in the original Oblivion, this can be only fixed by riding a horse, is this going to be fixed?
Please keep this channel to suggestions only.
An option (?) to turn off level scaling for the world... No bandits in daedric or glass. Rats still existing instead of a world of minotaurs
Weapon and armour comparison - how does the item I'm looking at compare to the one currently equipped?
Add cloaks and capes simply because they’re cool
(I understand this is unlikely and that’s okay.)
Please consider reassessment and increase for the value of clutter/books/gems and non armour/weapon/alchemy items/soul gem items.
The thievery experience is diminished by how little there is of value to steal. Only shops or the rare house with the above mentioned items are worth stealing from. Considering how much gold can be made via adventuring and alchemy I would appreciate if clutter and books had enough value to be worth stealing and make thievery worth the risk.
I would recommend a x5 increase in the value of most clutter/tableware/silverware (no clutter should be worth 0 gold). Gems may also deserve an increase in value.
For books note that most cheap books in Skyrim range from 5-10 gold roughly.Note that even minor increases in value could make finding otherwise useless items more enjoyable even if less useful at higher levels. This could also encourage more thinking by players of cost to weight ratios.
Restore the French dubbing of the original game 🥖
Werewolves please. I miss them. I know back in the original they were not a thing but... pretty please 🙏🏻
Add a checkmark or something similar on the map next to completed dungeons please
Would really love the ability to change characters appearance, name, ect. Similarly to how you can change your appearance using the face sculpture in Skyrim, also rebuilding Kvatch in a future DLC would be really cool.
There’s a major lore inconsistency in the remastered Dark Brotherhood’s door mural, the Night Mother is depicted with two extra children when the game makes it clear she had five.
-A fix on the Dark Brotherhood door in Cheydinhal to return to the old colors, sound, and the mysterious and eerie feeling that it had in the original
The ability to toggle armor visibility, at least for the helmet, would be nice. Though we can’t wear clothing under armor, so it might not work well for other gear.
put the dynamic ath entirely, HDR support and French voices please
make shelves have proper collision so i can place things on them again, and grabbing needs some adjusting, as it currently is, i can decorate my house easier in OG oblivion
Buff/debuff icons are too big and are inconsistent and seem to stop working if you have more than 3
Vampire rework, levelled weapons dealt with, a few permanent respawning Oblivion gates.
We need to know our limits on what is reasonable or unreasonable to ask for in Oblivion. If we say these things and its beyond what Virtuos can do, then why are we saying them. Please address what you can and can't do. Say Bethesda only allows UI, settings or visuals. Then why are we saying cool stuff.
Give us more options to tweak difficulty.
The current jump from adept to expert is too large, so adding more options in between would be better.
Alternatively give us the option to tweak incoming and outgoing damage separately.
- Fix the issue with paralysis game crash - every so often my game crashes when paralyzing an NPC or they paralyze me. Now in the higher lvl of marksmen it happens too many times
- Create a quest to rebuild Kvatch - it would be sick to have it rebuilt
- Organise the inventory like for example, ingredients, potions and alchemy equipment - too faffy to keep scrolling down to find it especially on controller
- Online Arena??
There are the suggestions I have seen other people mention so far that I would also like to see:
Someone else mentioned showing what caves/dungeons you've cleared on the main map. I'd like to second that.
Also an official restore kavatch quest would be awesome. There was a mod that did a great job with this in original Oblivion but I'd love to see what an official patch/xpac for this would look like.
Being able to delete spells that you created via the spellcrafting altar seems more like a need than a want. That should be a hot item.
Some kind of barber shop to edit character's features like hair, makeup etc.
Cloaks and capes are a hard yes for me, add them ASAP
First person perspective for the horse
Helmet view toggle
Bring bag OG difficulty slider
Adding in another vote for the ability to change appearance after leaving the sewers. It’s difficult to gauge how your character looks in other lighting and locations outside of the tutorial area which has always been frustrating, but it’s extra frustrating this time around because there are so many great hair styles and the creator is great in general!
I feel like I can’t actually start the game because I’m locked into that appearance for potentially 100+ hours with no ability to adjust them as their story progresses or fix a wonky feature, or to just try a different hair or beard style.
Additionally, being able to save “favorite” appearances would be incredible (similar to how games like Elden Ring do it.) It would allow easier sharing of face sliders within the community, and be great for people who love starting new characters but don’t want to lose work they’ve done making someone look perfect for them.
Hi! Hundreds of hours of classic Oblivion under my belt across several versions and consoles, please hear me.
There are small menu tweaks that would be stellar.
First, please remember my options! There is no reason I have to resort my inventory every single time I open it, or rezoom my map. It would be so easy to just remember the players settings.
Second! I understand the removal of subcategories in the player menu, but not having the Mortar and Pestle, etc., and Keys in their own categories is a pain. Bringing the Alchemy tools back to the top of their category would be amazing, and I’m kinda surprised y’all didn’t take the opportunity to implement a “Keyring” type object already.
That is all, beautiful job folks, thank you for carefully breathing life in my favorite video game of all time.
Survival mode (not attached to difficulty) requiring food, drink and sleep. With fast travel limited to only usable if riding on a mount.
A lesser power that summons your mount to your location.
Mounted combat.
Skyrim style weapon and armor displays in player housing
Option for hide helm
NPC or special display to upgrade leveled gear to current player level
I came as soon as I heard we were taking suggestions
The one thing I see alot of people saying is UI improvements for the inventory. Things like a key-ring, catagories for alchemy potions to differentiate from reagents, things like that. Right now it's kind of cluttered.
One thing I do not see people talking about is 2 handed heavy weapons. Now that they have limited combo's and not just the same swing ad infinitum, two handed heavies like greatsword and warhammer are now basicly useless. It's not the damage, it's the speed. I'd suggest greatly reducing the recovery between the first and second attacks, and that'd probably fix most of it. But right now, there's no reason to use a greatsword or a warhammer. They are just not useful compared to even 3 hit combo weapons.
Finally, definately some looking at how the levels scale. With the inclusion of minor skill rank-ups contributing to level it's now very easy to hit that plateu in the 20-30 range. And while it's far from unplayable due to the gameplay rebalance it really does feel like leveling past there is a bit of a slog. Might not be really fixable due to the fact that we now distribute the same ammount of attribute points on level up, but I noticed it.
- More spell / weapon hotkeys (**desperately need **)
- Separate damage given and taken sliders
Other than that, fantastic game!
Please add a fallout 4/76 and starfield style quick loot menu when looking at containers
also please fix bows in stealth only giving 1x multipler
Seeing the activity here this will most likely get buried lol but I have a few doable suggestions and some that are wishful thinking:
- First person option for horse-riding.
- Bring back the original cliff racer song.
- Bring back a hotkey system similar to original? (I'm on PS5 so that may be a PC only thing).
Some more ideas that may not happen:
-
Survival/Realism mode (No fast travel)
-
I would honestly pay for new DLC for this game. Would love to see a rebuilt Kvatch, and maybe some new lands.
-
Would also love to see reimplementation of weapons cut from morrowind. Crossbows and throwing weapons for marksman. Spears/halbards could either be a new "Polearm" skill tied to Endurance, or could be tied into Blade/Blunt somehow.
-
Delevel Bandits/Marauders, as well as quest reward items.
Otherwise, it's a 10/10 game and a lovely surprise!!
Please keep in mind this channel is for suggestions and feedback only! If you would like to report a bug, please let us know by ticket here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1402/oblivionrecat/287/feedback/1135
- Have the audio in French like in the old version.
2. Make mob weapons lootable directly from their pockets.
3. Add a difficulty level between Adept and Expert.
4. Allow the use of mods.
UI Change/Addition
Change the favorite system to something like or similar Skyrim or some adaptation or improvement from it as 8 options is quite limited for spells and potions if i
wanna avoid opening up my inventory each time
Make torches not deplete
Wouldn't mind some extra spell types like skyrim's spell traps, weather changing spells, teleportation/recall/blink (I really like how the portals at frostcrag dont fastforward time unlike fast travel), levitate, etc
Taming wild animals as permanent followers until they die (summon bear but for non mages)
poison apple rework - I feel like hit a hit or miss with poison apples even if it's in the person's inventory it can take days or weeks for them to eat it, maybe make it an hour or two or a day max
more varitey of items sold by shops
Investing more money into said shops - items being worth anything over 2200 is pointless as even with investing I have yet to find a shop that can buy more than 2200 at a time
option to categorize spell by school of magic instead of target/touch/self
new weapons such as spears, throwing knives, crossbows, melee with staff when depleted or as an alternative attack (big stick still gonna hurt)
Please touch up the inventory system.
Allow for sub categories and sorting.
Add a new section for keys to clean up the misc tab.
Maybe add some over world QOL. Like eating food instead of picking it up or showing your current weight when hovering over an item.
A highlight/pickup animation toggle to better resemble the original would be a nice option too.
Can Khajiits and Argonians have their tails back when wearing robes and one-piece outfits, please?
Idk if someone mentioned it but.
-alchemy tab separate the tools from ingredients from potions/poisons like in the first. Kinda annoying to try and find stuff when its all mixed together.
-when you switch tabs in invetory or spell, have it stay where it was rather than default it back to the top.
Those are my only two things.
-I just want to be able to see my skill-ups while I'm doing alchemy or lockpicking, etc. I hear it rank up but have to close the menu to see what level it ranked up to. -Please add the option to disable both low health vignette AND the sneaking vignette.
(The ability to marry similarly to how marriage works in Skyrim)
(duel wielding)
(be able to obtain and wear Imperial palace guard armor)
(Kill cameras similar to Skyrim)
Can you add horse races?
I think others have mentioned these already but
- bringing back first person horse riding
- survival mode/ no fast travel
Dynamic HUD please
Maybe unpopular opinion, but as a Morrowind die hard, I really enjoyed the travel hubs for fast travel. The Silt Striders and boat system was great for immersion.
Please bring back first-person horse riding, it was one of my favorite things from the original game. and I miss it dearly.
make shelves have proper collision so i can place things on them again, and grabbing needs some adjusting, as it currently is, i can decorate my house easier in OG oblivion
For the love of god, add an option to switch L1/R1 with L2/R2 in the inventory, the current controls and layout is driving me crazy.
Pet mud crab, please :’)
Please add an option to **remove **the mouth flaps/creases on Redguards.
If you search "Redguard" on YouTube, X or Reddit, you'll notice that most people who are playing as a male Redguard are using the default preset. This is because the face options are so limited, that a lot of players just gave up on making their own character.
It's not fair that the Imperials look young (which leads to more creative designs), meanwhile anyone who wants to play as a Redguard has to have an old looking character.
Just go on Reddit and compare the Imperial custom characters to the very few Redguard ones, you'll see what I'm saying.
What's the point in having a diverse cast of races in Oblivion, when the customization is so limited for some races?
Please understand that this is coming from a place of love, I had the OG game on PS3. I just wish that black gamers were more than just an afterthought in 2025. I just want to be able to create someone who looks like me, is that a crime? It's not too late to fix this Bethesda.
2) Fix the lighting in the sewers.
I have black hair IRL, yet the darkest option in the tutorial seems to be light brown.
3) Copy Hogwarts Legacy's Arachnophobia Mode. This setting changes both the appearance of the game's spiders and the noises they make.
Siggestion: When we fast travel to our home bases can we have the option to go right to the interior space.
Yes this ☝️ this is why I simply suggested creation club and mod support. Mods can do most of this
- Spells need their skill denomination displayed in the inventory/bartering menus.
Currently there is no way I can see to understand if a spell is novice/journeyman/expert etc
-
First person horse riding
-
I cannot make a quest active by pressing A on Xbox, have to press x to open the quest details to make it active
-
The button to show the last active step in your quest does not always work. Sometimes it just remains on the first quest step and you have to use the directional pad to navigate to latest quest step.
-
Ability to hide spells from inventory
Please set horses to not agro everything. I'm tired of every wolf, mud crab, and scamp running past me to try and kill my very expensive glue factory on legs
For the love of Azura, allow us to delete spells and add a favorite items system
Pls make an Elsweyr DLC. It is a small province compared to Cyrodil
Please PLEASE a separate keybind to hold to walk/run
edit: not toggle, hold to walk/run
caps lock toggles walk/run. q to auto whichever is toggled
I would like to see a rebalance of two-handed weapons.
With the changes to combat the two-handed weapons are even worse than they were in the original game.
Tweaking the speed, damage or both to make them an attractive option would be great.
a complete (updated) modding kit with documentation for handling the conversion to UE5
One last suggestion: Khajiit beards/sideburns. The ability to remove them. This one requests this.
PS5 suggestions
-
Increase all armor & weapon health by 25-30%
-
Decrease enchantment usage cost by 50%
-
Decrease weapon and armor weights by at least 20%
-
Make the lighting from the DB door closer to the original by making the hand glow or making the candles red
-
Please put negative effects affecting you on some menu so we can see why our stats are randomly weakened even if we've casted Cure disease. I keep having to use the shrines to fully fix my stats
-
Make the quick tab for map start on local map
- Difficulty adjustment: sensible adjustments that do not turn enemies into damage sponges but actually create engaging combat.
- International voice-over: even if there will be no re-recording of dialogue as with the English VO, implement the original voice-over for other languages.
- Fix stuttering and improve performance.
- Implement ray-traced water reflections.
- Give an option to display shields on the back of players and NPCs, instead of awkwardly having them in the off-hand when the weapon is sheathed.
- A key ring to de-clutter the inventory.
- Remember the last chosen sorting option in the inventory.
- A photo mode.
- Enhance the leveled lists, allowing for a greater variety of enemies and loot even on a higher player level and remove unsensible enemies (bandits in glass/daedric armour).
- Horse whistle.
- HUD options: allowing options to turn off certain HUD elements (text, compass, etc.) and having dynamic options, such as the crosshair only appearing over interactable objects.
- Higher quality audio files: especially the music sounds too compressed
If not previously stated, I’d love to see cooking and survival mode added.
Some sort of keyring or pouch that holds all of our keys would be huge. An NPC who offers a character customization menu would be great too.
Finding a way to minimize texture-popping on the Series X would be excellent.
We need a way to remove ingredients from an alchemy recipe.
Improved object placement for decorating homes
Could you please put the French version on all platforms, because it is not immersive at all, and when the NPCs talk to each other it is not even translated, this should not be a problem for you because you already have the French version, thank you
make shelves have proper collision so i can place things on them again, and grabbing needs some adjusting, as it currently is, i can decorate my house easier in OG oblivion
If you would like to reply to a suggestion do so in https://discord.com/channels/784542837596225567/784548437403107388, unless you’re adding to it. Thank you
These have probably already been suggested but here we go:
-
Rework the enemy level scaling. whether that means making it like Skyrim wherein enemies stop leveling after a certain point or introducing a mix of that with a rubber banding system like in fallout 4, anything would be better than what we currently have
-
Make unique items level with the player character. It wasn’t fun having to wait until level 25+ to get the best version of an item in 2006, and it isn’t fun now.
-
Add more difficulty settings or adjust the current difficulties. Adept becomes way too easy really fast and expert is a ridiculous jump in difficulty from adept.
A few suggestions (I am on PS5):
- Add a shortcut if you press and hold down on the d-pad for the map to bring up the zoomed in dungeon/town map.
- Add an option to toggle the updated lighting/color or the original color similar to this mod: https://x.com/nexussites/status/1914965346282361264?s=46
- Key Ring removing keys from Miscellaneous. (Keep them showing up in the All Items menu though).
- One time use spells removed from Miscellaneous and moved to Magic menu. (Keep them showing up in the All Items menu though).
- Horse whistle/horse menu for your different horses and where you left them.
- Improvements to performance/stuttering specifically in open world (and especially when on horseback). And the heavy stuttering that happens every time you auto save.
- Completion marker on dungeons.
- Add an item/spell that lets you auto leave the dungeon you are in. Or when you are done with a dungeon a pop up that you can return to entrance.
- When you are holding an item to move it around, give the ability to turn it so you can set it down in a certain position. Would be helpful when decorating my house!
A few bugs I’m not sure are just relevant to me but thought I should note:
- There is an issue with head bobbing where when you are outdoors every step you take there is a lighting flicker when your head goes up and down. I’m not sure if this is an issue with my TV/HDR. I messed around with settings on tv but no luck. Turned off head bob and that fixed it.
- Small one but if you buy the $4000 house in Brevil even if you own it when you go to open the door it is red like you are trespassing.
I absolutely love what you have done. Oblivion is my favorite game of all time and I’m having an absolute blast. Any of these improvements/refinements would be very much appreciated!
I'm sure it's been mentioned, but while I'm okay with 2006 jank in many areas, the bottom few QoL improvements could really help:
-
Revised loot system. Loot doesn't feel rewarding currently. I don't feel excited to open chests because the loot is underwhelming
-
Completion marker on caves. I never know what I've completed vs what I haven't
-
Contextualized or toggleable local maps
-
Kill animations (especially from stealth)
-
For dungeons that have a definitive boss/end room, have a quick way to get back to the beginning of the dungeon - lots of backtracking
I dont think getting diseased while blocking a hit makes any sense at all, would be nice if successfully blocking a hit gave 100% disease resistance
I know I am far from the first one to suggest this but I'm on PC and performance needs to be dramatically improved. For some reason every time the game loads it hammers my CPU for 3-5 minutes before settling down. There is also the traversal stutter that has been carried over from the original game. And external frame rate limiter is the only way to get smooth frame pacing. DLSS seems to be broken with significant smearing and noise. Turning on reflex seem to cause GPU under utilization. Basically first thing before you do anything else you need to do a major optimization pass on the game. From an aesthetic point of view it would be nice to have an in game option to restore the original vibrant green colour palette.
My suggestion is Quick Loot from Fallout 4. It makes looting things a lot easier and saves time. Having to go to a menu to loot stuff each time gets annoying after a bit
I find swimming to be kind of difficult. I would like to ability to use jump and crouch to move up and down underwater
Please add a "Cleared" Notification on the map when a dungeon has been looted/boss killed.
-Functioning bookshelves, display cases, and armor racks.
-ability to rotate items you’re holding as in starfield
-Can't place items into bookshelves due to invisible wall.
-Show what level is needed for certain spells
-Show when a dungeon is cleared
-fix difficulty adept to expert
-let all weapons scale with level
-prevent common enemies having crazy high level gear
-Daedric claymore skin is very lame
-input delay is way too high on 2h weapon attacks
-let us delete or unlearn spells
-inventory/spell search function
- add a vampire skill (once per day) to feed on a standing target that does sneak attack damage based on weapon equipped
A couple of QoL things:
-Please change map markers for Oblivion gates after they are cleared.
-add item and spell sub categories like in the OG version of the game.
-make it possible to delete spells from your spell list.
-change unique items to no longer be leveled to the player. No one should be waiting to do a quest for the sole bases that they get a weaker version if they do the quest early. I'd rather the quest just be level locked.
Thanks for taking suggestions Bethesda/Virtuos! I'm loving the game.
-
Unique difficulty with survival properties. Sleeping, eating, etc. Perhaps warmth could be included like in Skyrim's survival mode.
-
I think that bugs and optimization should be focused on first, but I'd love to see more gameplay expansions, whether they be a few new weapons or entire land masses like the Shivering Isles. However, I think you should try to make sure any additional dlc is removed from the main vanilla area, so that players can still feel like it's true to the original while exploring Cyrodiil.
Loving the game so far but have a few suggestions: 1.) Please allow us to alter our appearance after sewers - perhaps at the bed. It would also be quite fun to have 'natural hair growth' as well - as theres length options for hair and beard. 2.) Allow more low level enemies to spawn mixed in with higher level ones and please less bandits with op armours at higher levels. 3.) let unique items level with us, for example the Daedric artifacts
Performance
1- mandatory request for improved difficulty options.
2- survival mode...preferably more like New Vegas than F4. I still want the option to fast trvale and save anywhere. I just want to have to eat drink and sleep.
3- RESPAWNING BUILDING CELLS. If you clean out a shop of valuables while on a thieves guild mission, it never respawns. This was how the base game worked Skyrim changed it so that they would restock valuables after awhile so you did't have all these interir cells with nothing in them because you stole it all 50 hours ago. Huge boon for immersion and theif gameplay.
4- more skooma vendors....possibly with addiction system in survival mode.
5- make your horse run from danger instead of attacking.
6- ability to change our appearance after character creation.
7- hirelings.
8- Let us rescale unique items to our current level in exchange for gold. If I get the blade of woe super early it eventually becomes useless. But what if there was some kind of dwemer anvil or something that let me reforge it to my current level
9- lootable dark seducer and golden saint armour.
QoL and lore accuracy suggestion:
Dark brotherhood door should have the glow and sound effects from the original. Also the mural is no longer lore accurate in the remake.
Bring Back Darem Brotherhood Red Glow
Add a difficulty between adept and expert
Improve the performance
Items filter
Rebuilt kvatch
More Npcs/creatures in the cities/world to feel more alive
Classic color option
There's not much reason to use a claymore over a long sword that gets a shield. Adding a blunt modifier to the claymore would work nicely. It's a heavy weapon that has some mass to it that'd carry through
Why does the dark brotherhood door have 7 children instead of 5 when she only had 5? She is the palm and her kids are the fingers, this is massively lore breaking
Let Tab close the Map/Inventory/etc. Esc is too far and it's really annoying.
make shelves have proper collision so i can place things on them again, and grabbing needs some adjusting, as it currently is, i can decorate my house easier in OG oblivion
Improve performance
Add optional graphic filters for more true-to-original color palate
Mod support
Ability to modify character appearance
Transmog and clothing dyes
More tuning to the world-scaling
Indication on map icon for dungeons you've explored versus ones you havent
Please keep in mind this channel is for suggestions and feedback only! If you would like to report a bug, please let us know by ticket here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1402/oblivionrecat/287/feedback/1135
1- redo the sprint animation
2- redo the walking posture to make it straighter
3- more advanced character creation at face level, like in Fallout 4 or more recently Starfierld
4- Make the world a little more coherent, let me explain!
Why, because my character is higher level, should I always come across minotaurs instead of rats or wolves, or bandits in Daedric armor, doesn't really make sense and was already a problem for me in the original (especially bandits better equipped than anyone else, as if this kind of equipment wasn't supposed to be rare and difficult to obtain)?
5- more city life
6- French audio! or at least subtitles for everything, because some lines are missing, such as Jauffre's speech and Martin's when they arrive at the Temple of Blades and Martin introduces himself (I understand English well, but not everyone does).
7- review performance
8- mod support !!!!!
Otherwise, it's GREAT to play Oblivion again!
Suggestions:
- more DLC that take use to new locations or add detail to bland caves.
- DLC that adds more verity to clothing and armor.
- DLC that adds more veritables to character creation mostly cosmetic such as body types & phisical treated for the races depending where they are from.
- DLC that adds more verity in oblivion gates.
- time skip DLC that takes place like 1-2 years after the events of the main story. You could expand the game by quite a bit with that with introducing new characters and settings.
- DLC have you considered an elsweyr DLC expansion for oblivion? Did the oblivion Chris is only take place in Cyridiil?
- some kind of system to have armor and weapons show damage as they degrade.
Some easy suggestions for TES4R :
-
Making level scaling optional
-
Add movement to your torch while moving (it isn't floating in the air, it should oscillate with your steps)
That's for the easy part.
Now, some difficult suggestions :
-
Officially support mods! The Elder Scrolls without this isn't TES anymore!
-
Do something about AI, please... The NPCs are no better than two decades ago, they still can't walk around without bumping into each and every wall.
-
Unable sprinting for NPCs (I put it into "difficult suggestions" because it would need a vast change in their behaviour)
-
Fully control the speed of our character’s movement. Can be achieved on controller and mouse.
-
The way the combat animations lock you into them especially the power attacks, It messes up a lot of the timing, especially with blocking and getting hit from far away.
-
Jumping at maximum height with no other choice and not having a minimum jump also seems like a really outdated idea. Tap for short jump and hold for long jump. -
The weather effects look horrible storm clouds roll in almost instantaneously and appear in the sky over you. -
The weather effects plus night cycles seem to pass pretty fast. -
High level equipment should be rare on most npcs. -
A.I is almost non responsive to death or noise
-
Need a slider for thin/fat/muscles/ height/ more hair and beard length -
More radiant events in the world.
-
Delete spells.
-
Can we have more original hair styles that feels like elder scrolls
-
Survival and fishing DLC with a placeable camp spot anywhere in the world.
-
A little bit more weight to the characters movement so you can control it better. You move around a lot in the air, especially at max level.
Customizing inside and out your home
Please fix the eyes 😅
Honestly being able to place stuff on a weapon rack or a display Case Skyrim style would be nice and please fix the Knights of the Nine follower bug.
We need communication. I suggest Bethesda and/or Virtuos tell us the scope of what they plan on doing to support this game, and tell us when and what kind of updates we can expect.
some QoL things let us 1. padlock items so we cant lose/sell/drop them 2. on console when in towns and dungeons can the map open to them and not the world map 3. on shortcuts can we have a outer ring with 1 to 8 thats linked togther so when items are in them we can be hot swaped like 2 weapons
Some suggestions:
- dual wielding
- spears 1 handend and of 2 handed with their own proper animations
- actually the ability to use longswords, batttleaxes rtc with either 1 or 2 hands.
- more interactive combat. Less hack and slash, more parrying akd countering and dodging.
- a survival mode
I know these would take away from what is the original base oblivion. Maybe they could be optional to activate on or during a playthrough?
Apart from that:
- a immersive fast travel system using horse and carts for example
- the ability to show multiple weapons on your character. A ranger using both bow and arrow and a sword and the ability to choose to put a longsword or similar on the back and not hip. Carry two weapons on the back or hips or a combo of those if you rotate between multiple weapons.
- full mod support!
Thank you all for taking suggestions in the first place! And the Remaster itself is lovely, so thank you all for putting it together.
One more thought on the difficulty train: what if we could adjust player damage and enemy damage independently? It seems like players all have somewhat different flavours in this regard, so independent sliders seems like the only way to sort out the issue very definitively.
1- Mod Support (i.e., an updated construction set)
2- Hearthfire style DLC that adds romanceable NPCs/followers to the game and a player home or two with extra customization options
Map markers for the doomstones / wayshrines would be nice. Could pick them up from rumors, reading books, etc.
UE5 plugin support
Here are my suggestions;
First: photo mode
Second: a return of local maps for indoor areas
Third: toggle "permanent essential status" for some friendly NPCs in certain quests like Baurus, Farwel, Jauffle.
Fourth: Patch the Forbidden Grotto in Cameron's Paradise so that the prisoners are actually in their cages.
I’ve played oblivion obsessively for as long as I can remember and I love this remaster it’s really spectacular. I wouldn’t change or add much. But heres what I would do :
1 : Add houses you can buy as fast travel locations. Allow fast traveling out of houses you own as well.
2 : Icon scaling in the UI so you can scroll faster
3 : When I open up my inventory it should remember where it was when I last closed it, so I don’t have to rescroll all the way down to pick that one spell I need.
4 : Local map should have a hotkey in the map menu, scrolling all the way down over and over is a bit annoying
5 : The Necromancers Amulet and Bloodworm Helm should be available to you as arch mage when you complete the mages guild questline. Currently you have to give them up to become arch-mage.
Custom HUD
- Storage Quickloot menu
- Change appearance option, perhaps? It was missing in the old game and I can imagine it could be bit tricky with the statue in Bruma, but it could work.
Actually, in my head;
*Performance fixxes
*Hide Helmet ^^
Let us confirm things with ‘E’ instead of ‘Enter’ or just clicking confirm😭
Please keep in mind this channel is for suggestions and feedback only! If you would like to report a bug, please let us know by ticket here: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/home/product/1402/oblivionrecat/287/feedback/1135
Have a slider to adjust the amount of dialogue ZOOM
Can you please allow us to turn off the UI on console? Thanks!
The beginning tutorial is missing, unlike in the original Oblivion, would be good for new players to have it
Probably already been suggested but I'll throw these anyway:
-
A photo-mode implementation, based on how gorgeous the game is, it feels frustrating not to be able to take shots, it's been a rather common addition at this point in recent games so I feel it would be nice to have it on Oblivion as well.
-
Something, an item? An NPC? That would allow to change the character's appearance, currently the only way to do so is by using showracemenu on PC but it resets stats and causes issues with the character. You may install a mod to somewhat help but it's still rather rocky.
-
Local map auto switch when you're inside a dungeon, probably has been mentioned a lot already but here's my vote.
-
Dark Brotherhood door fix. Add back the red glow that was an iconic look in the original game, also alter the textures so they properly match the original design as it has established lore behind it.
-
Classic controls and interfaces
- this includes menus, dpad hotkeys, classic map, better container storing.
-
Spell deletion. There are far too many spells I've bought to create my own. It's a mess.
-
Local map zoom options.
-
Less button presses. Hotkeys, storing, local map etc. All take additional input, more then the original.
-
Recharge and repair from weapon and armor menu, similar to Skyrim
-
Keyring
The gameplay is far improved. The interface and menu experience is far worse. The menu occupies a lot of time in this game.
Enable console commands on Xbox, so that we can fix bugged quests etc. Please!
make shelves have proper collision so i can place things on them again, and grabbing needs some adjusting, as it currently is, i can decorate my house easier in OG oblivion
The ability to delete spells would be appreciated.
As it is right now the menu can get incredibly cluttered if you buy or create a lot of spells.
Please add better text size options, on large setting they are still very small when using a tv, they are also very small on the inventory menu UI, to fix this please give much larger options and also an option to make the font style more basic will help reduce eye strain
Please add the “cleared” icon or something to the dungeons we’ve already visited.
Also, please allow us a way to level up our gear. That way we’re not punished for picking up good weapons and gear too early.
Oh and please allow vampires to fast travel. I like playing one. But not at the cost of fast travel.
Thank you.
would also like, if new content isnt off table which it 99% is, an option to toggle an alternative art style ui thats more oblivion and less Skyrim/ESO
Vampires being immune to sunlight damage while standing in shadows or while wearing a hood would be a good immersive idea.
Add options to change muscle and height in the character creation, playing a skinny orc looks awful.
-Please let us redesign our characters post sewers.
-Please make the Imperial Watch armor set obtainable
-Please add HDR support on console
-Please add an icon to let us know when a dungeon has been cleared
Besides the obvious need for changes to the difficulty slider balance, I don’t know if this is outside the scope of what you want to add but a Legacy of the Dragonborn-like unique gathering museum quest would be sick. Or just a place to place and display all the cool unique items.
- Dual-wielding (for spells also).
- Option to set spells to the attack and block buttons/keys.
- Block bashing.
- Minimap.
- Quick loot menu.
- Horse whistle, item or power.
- Option to recruit NPCs as companions when their disposition is high.
- Companion/horse management menu.
- Equipment upgrading.
- Key ring.
- Levitate spell.
- Item highlighter.
- Destructible objects (e.g. barrels, crates).
- Lock bashing.
- Upright sprinting animation.
- Various NPC-exclusive armors and outfits made available to players.
- Restoration of flora and friendly Spriggans in Kynareth's Grotto.
- Cleared location indicators.
- Option to mark important quest NPCs as protected or essential.
- Mod support.
I already made a post about fixing leveled items, but... if leveled items are going to stay the same, can the Morag Tong armor at least be made to use the same leveling system as the others instead of the objectively worse, random chance based, save-scum encouraging system it uses currently? It really sucks. I'd even be willing to wait a few more levels to get it at max strength as long as it was guaranteed, like other leveled items, to be at max strength.
Oblivion is one of my favorite games EVER, and I feel like I'm in dreamland playing this remaster. I absolutely adore it. It's almost perfect. Thank you so much!
-
Dual difficulty sliders, one for the player and one for enemies. I'd like to feel both dangerous and in danger! On Adept I am a god among mortals. On Expert I am an ant beneath the boot of a common bandit. We need a middle ground!
-
The local map is annoying to access and does not feel as satisfying as the rest of the menus to interact with. I do not have a suggestion on how to fix it, I am just requesting a change be considered.
-
An icon to let us know we cleared a dungeon at least once would be really nice.
Honestly that's all I've got right now. These are the only changes I would ask be made at the developer level. Thank you so much for Oblivion Remastered. I am in love anew.
I’m sure someone has mentioned the mages guild bug for tall races? If not, please give us tall people equal treatment!
-Look at all the bugs fixed by the Unofficial Oblivion Patch that still weren’t fixed in the remaster and fix them. Most of the work is already done!
-Allow mods on consoles.
-Fix the broken difficulty levels (adept way too easy and expert way too hard) or bring back the original difficulty sliders which worked fine.
-In spellcrafting, the ice animation seems to override any other animation, even if the damage from something like shock is higher than ice.
-Allow us to hotkey more than one spell on console. Having to bring up the wheel (which doesn’t stop the action) and being slaughtered while trying to change spells isn’t fun and makes it hard to be a pure mage.
-Rebalance some of the level caps on spells and staves. Things like command creature level 2 are often useless by the time you get them.
-Leveled items including the Mage’s Staff should level with the character so that you aren’t punished for doing the quest at a lower level.
-Fix enemy scaling like others have mentioned, and don’t make low level enemy types stop appearing just because you’ve leveled.
-Leveling seems a little too fast in the remaster. Seems to have overcompensated for things like restoration that used to take forever but now level up in just a few casts. I had to make my main magic skills into minor skills so they wouldn’t level up so fast.
-Option for more colorful graphics like the original.
-Better enemy AI. If an enemy sees me kill its friend, it shouldn’t just stand there.
-Rebalance the leveled lists for treasure so that I don’t just get a couple of septims for clearing a dungeon.
I think an expansion into the abecean islands/parts of hammerfell would be interesting
I started the game on Expert but the enemies are too lethal. On Adept I don't take much damage!! Please make Expert a liiiittle easier, I'd rather not play on Adept, it's too easy.
-
Honestly, some of the facial models are nightmare fuel and border on uncanny valley, particularly elves and orcs.
-
Mouths on all models are way too big, and feel very uncanny as well.
-
Please, for the love of Mike, fix male face models!!! They look horrible, especially Imperials. Why do all of them look ridiculously old, even when you choose a younger selection?
The current difficulty system needs to be changed ASAP
can we get console command window on consoles? Just in case a quest breaks, we can type in quest fixes and other stuff. Also mod support
I think it would be nice to have a body in first person as well as first person player shadow
First off, amazing and spectacular remake of my all time favorite game.
Suggestion: please make it possible to delete spells from spell book. Also, create more dlc and zones. I’ll pay big money no whammy.
We should all be requesting a ‘Performance patch’ along with our ideas. A smoother game benefits every update that comes after.
Delete Spell
Keyring
Ability to disable any of the UI elements
Tab always opens inventory and Escape always opens System
M to open Map
Separate Alchemy equipment from ingredients like original game
Spell sub menu like original game
Unique looting sounds for the various containers like the original
Option for higher quality audio files
Hold walk key bind
The General UI needs to be looked at. Misc is way too broad and things like keys don't stack. Finding certain items like repair hammers or alchemy equipment can be a real pain.
All of these. I think the game needs more bug fixes and QOL than DLC at this point, like other posts are suggesting.
-When I press the map key while indoors, I'd prefer to see the indoor map rather than the world map. Being able to zoom out of the indoor map to see more if it would also be very helpful.
-Official mod support + mod tools
-On PC, "e" to confirm in place of/addition to the "enter" key.
The difficulty between adept and expert is insane and needs to be tweaked. On adept I can tank ten ogre punches and survive, on expert I can take two. Also sneak attacks don’t work on expert for some reason.
Hi there, French version, and real perk trees ala Skyrim would be great
An updated, functions like Starfield's- Oblivion Remastered Creation Kit.
I think what would be really cool, is a new DLC where we could start the war with the aldmeri dominion. I don’t quiteeeeee remember what that started but that would be an amazing DLC. I would also think it would be cool to do like a up to 4-player co-op, as well as mod support for consoles, rebuild Kvatch, and expand upon the knight of the nine
Please add the ability to change appearance in the game after tutorial just like in skyrim, fallout, starfield
Can we get a better set of achievements / trophy's to hunt down and complete? Currently you can get all achievements by just completing all major faction questlines which is kind of unimaginative.
I would enjoy having a lot more obscure / silly / difficult / outlandish achievements that encourage all kinds of different gameplay styles and out of the box thinking to complete , to give an additional set of goals to work tbrough for achievement hunters.
Thanks for considering.
I just noticed this channel and I just wanted to come in and say I REALLY hope Bethesda doesn't forget the modding community
Fix or change sneak attacks with bows frequently doing 1x damage
Restore the original difficulty sliders
Remove underwear and add in fully modeled genitals for all character models (tee hee)
make shelves have proper collision so i can place things on them again, and grabbing needs some adjusting, as it currently is, i can decorate my house easier in OG oblivion.
- bring back 1st person horse riding anim
- bring back cut content
- etc
It would be great if we could reset skill points and classes in-game without having to create a new character.
Some ui changes would be appreciated. In no particular order.
- Making the local map quicker to access
- Subcategories in the inventory
- Introduction of quickloot if possible
- Removing the textbox when you bring the cursor over your horse while riding
Remove the black square behind txt
Add a 40 FPS option for Xbox Series X and PS5 to improve frame rate stability.
Allow an option to reduce encumbrance/weight limit, similar to Starfield, to make looting feel less limiting.
Add an auto-loot option for dead bodies to collect items like ammo, gold, etc.
Provide an option to adjust NPC distance in conversations when adjusting the FOV slider, as NPCs are currently too far away during dialogue.
Add a weapon wheel (like in Far Cry or GTA) to allow faster weapon and magic swapping in combat.
Introduce new decorations and decor in towns and streets to make them feel less barren and more lively.
Take UI inspiration from Avowed to make it easier to swap weapon builds and armor/clothing for console players.
Provide an option to view the inventory limit size when looting a body.
Improve hit reactions and impacts from enemies during combat, and add weapon takedown animations for better combat feel.
Overhaul the lighting and scenery to make it more vibrant and less brown, to capture the glowing fantasy vibe of the original.
These are the “tweaks” I would like that would enhance my experience, I have already seen others bring them up but:
Implement some form of indicator when you have fully explored/cleared a cave/fort.
Make the helmet slot visibility a toggle on/off.
A photo mode so I could take more screenshots with different effects and have them appear on the loading screen sometimes (how it is in Fallout76)
Something I would love to see is a more involved crafting/a mercantile system. A “Zenithar DLC”, it would focus on the production of potions. As a player I would have to gather the herbs, label them and then produce the different mixtures and put them into bottles. It would be a more involved process where I would have to actually move the herb to the mortar & pestle etc and make it the right consistency before packaging. I love the interior of the buildings in Oblivion, I wish there was a reason to spend more time in them. Having your own shop would mean you could handle production but also hire NPCs and make money by selling your wares in the Imperial City for example. You would have to keep going out on adventures to gather ingredients, some more rare than others and perhaps you’d have customers requesting exotic goods so you would have to experiment and find new combinations to meet the demand.
HDR support for PC and allowing local map to be the default when you're indoors
A way to upgrade leveled gear, currently only the Crusader gear is able to have level increased. (perhaps by using the Dwemer forge in battlehorn, as an example?)
Key tab, key ring, key bag, anything so keys aren’t cluttering the misc tab.
Ability to delete custom spells.
Some way to change appearance. Whether it be full blown Skyrim face sculptor, or even just haircuts. Anything.
On the map, allow players to see which dungeons, caves, etc., have been fully explored.
In the inventory, allow sorting items and spells from most recently obtained to oldest obtained.
When riding a horse, its name pops up when the cursor crosses it. Make that not happen 🏇🏿
I can’t see health of allies or my horse very well. The original NPC / enemy health bar was a horseshoe around the cursor, right? Make it easier to see their health.
Hello all, just one simple suggestion for quality of life on the game. Insert a button or interaction with the dungeon map that you don't have to always zoom in to see the dungeon map, it'll save some time and stress if you're lost on a dungeon or check if you've already passed thru the point that you're in. It'll help a lot.
Make it possible to read books etc while looting without having to pick them up/look for it in your inventory
I would love to see the ability to add multiple enchantments to an item, I'm sure this could be balanced similarly to spell crafting or adding enchantments to weapons
A few small quests. Since the deluxe edition showed us it is possible, would be great to have smaller updates to add some fun new ones. Nothing crazy, but would flesh out the world more.
Please add the ability to play the game with a friend.
Performance/optimization fixes for all Player bases. Maybe a 40 fps mode for console since 60 fps stutters too much
Please add HDR support to consoles
At the ability to see your character when you look down in first person along with being able to ride your horse in first person and horse racing
Maybe like an optional content pack DLC could be made?
something which adds some more random encounters, a few little quest lines, maybe some new unique locations
just to give the open world a little extra boost
and as a DLC option for content purists (not saying it would be a paid dlc, but maybe idk)
I'd even settle for just something that teases what we can expect from ES6.
I would literally pay to for mod support at this point I’ve already beat like every major quest so I’m just bored until they either add mod support or new DLC
More unique items with unique appearences would be appreciated
Hi, it would be great to add
mods support for consoles,
VA for the different languages supported in the original game,
An option to allow us to make the game brighter/more colorful,
A way to zoom on the Knights of the nine's pilgrimage map,
Restore the original dark brotherhood door's light
Restore the original physic of the small lamp above the player's head when you enter/leave the arena fighting's grounds
Add story content dlc like rebuilding Kvatch or werewolves/improved vampires
- It would be nice if you could change the color palette & the style of the weapons & armor to the way they originally looked like by using the smithing skill. Add more customization to the character creation so you can actually make your character look breathtaking, An option to change the color palette of the environment to give it a more vibrant look, Put back the original male & female choices, in the character creation. It would be very cool if we could have a "DLC" like the "Shivering Isles" like for example like exploring and doing quests in other planes of oblivion that belong to nocturnal, mephala, azura, meridia, boethiah or clavicus vile.
performance on ps5 is a little rough..
Back again to request plz plz plz add crossbows in like a creation club or small dlc thing. Could have a short simple quest tied to acquiring them. Also the cowl of nocturnal doesn’t fit right on breton heads and hides the eyes! Thanks
Increase walking speed to match NPCs
My suggestion feels important to me because of my being deaf, subtitles are not well done. I just completed knights of the nine and half if not more than half of the time, there were no subtitles. Such as when knight first approached me at end of pilgrimage and I stood there unable to move and knight approached me. And just… stood there. I thought the game broke, but no. It was subtitles not being added to those scenes. Same goes with when you first meet sir amiel, you’re forced to stay there and stare at wall while Amiel seems to be talking (again, no subtitles). Then suddenly I have to fight those knights.
Also, mages in mage guilds seem to have no subtitles when talking to each other.
Enemy npcs talks when fighting me (or others) but also no subtitles.
Add the og voicelines from French and German version in a patch please, and for the new dialogues idk use the AI to generate voicelines
If a Photo Mode is added (this could be separate from one as well), it would be cool to allow for the Post Processing options to persist during normal gameplay.
This could allow for players to edit the Bloom and Saturation to create visuals similar to the original game or create an entirely unique atmosphere.
How about a "Recent" tab in the inventory menu? That would solve a lot of issues people have with rummaging through their inventory.
Giving us a way to upgrade the unique levelled equipment and spells that we receive as quest rewards would be great.
Definitely would love to see a way to customize your character or even just change your hair after the tutorial and some more options (warpaint, scars, etc. ) as well mod support for oblivion on console including creation club or not both would be amazing and improve the experience
I think it would be nice if the rate at which a weapon or armor piece loses durability scaled with the relevant skill level, so they break down less often at high level
some spells are not acting correctly; light, night eye when paired with detect life, bound armor when you summon all pieces at the same time
Companion characters should get knocked unconscious, then get back up after the fight. Just like VIP characters. Also an option to share equipment like skyrim would make them much more useful.
I think the easiest way to do the difficulty is to just have 2 sliders 1 for player damage and 1 for enemy damage and they each fo from 1%-500% or something
Or just have 1 fine tuned difficulty slider like the original oblivion but actually have it tell you exactly how much damage you and the enemies are doing as you move it
Make it so I can bonk the chain around in the arena.
I know this is a huge ask, but implement item levels in a way similar to avowed, where I can “level” them up, so I don’t have to wait to get my favorite weapon without it being useless. This way I can unlock children’s level one and as I level, level the item with me so it stays relevant
Change body type 1 and body type 2 back to male and female
Add crossbows
Add the ability to call you’re horse
I have listened a sondage for oblivion remastered, its here ?
Changes to address shortcomings from OG Obliv:
- Ability to place items in display cases and racks Skyrim-style
- A quest/npc to make changes to character appearance or birthsign
- Enemies pursue the player almost indefinitely upon aggro, some reasonable leashes would be appreciated
- Allies often do not accept a yield when mistakenly aggroed with friendly fire
- Indication when a dungeon or area has been cleared, perhaps temporary and removed once enemies respawn
- Better inventory sorting/management, something to winnow down bloated item/spell lists for usability
- Consolidation/removal of extraneous keys and documents (housing upgrade receipts)
Issues Introduced in Remaster
- Weird amount of button presses needed to store objects in a container, haggle, mark a quest as active
- Gap between Adept and Expert difficulty much wider than it should be
- Using the left/right movements during Alchemy does not seem to do anything? It seems to highlight ingredients but it does not accept any other inputs and you can only exit
- The indoor map is no longer the default when indoors, and must be zoomed into every time (note the number of people thinking it's been removed)
- Location names seem to be tied to a very small area, wandering around a town square can cause the town name to pop up repeatedly
- 3rd person sprint animation is a little goofy
Requests to add fully new content
- Survival mode that introduces hunger, cold/warmth, tiredness would be fun
- Skyrim-style cooking to introduce non-alchemy uses for food
- Ability to customize or add to player housing, Hearthfire-style buildable houses would be welcome (at least personally)
- Hirelings
- Rebuilt Kvatch
- Ability to hide HUD/photo mode
I'm sure this has been mentioned before but the difficulty seems broken.
I two-hit berserk goblins in adept and they barely scratch me, but if I bump it up to expert I barely scratch them and get crushed in a couple hits.
All I want is a difficulty that makes me consider encounters. Either we all do high damage, like a realistic/HC mode, or we are all more spongey. But as is, I can fall asleep fighting groups, wake up, and dispatch them in a few swipes.
just make it so when looting, both player inventory and the inventory youre looting from show up, instead of having to click a key to open them both, its just straight up unnecessary
Absolutely love the remaster, brings me back to my middle school days. Really thankful to Bethesda and Virtuos.
I have one minor request that would be a great quality of life enhancement,
A few more hot bar tabs would be great. You could press trigger to switch between them. It would be nice to have one for weapons and armor and one for magic and another for potions ect.
Please fix the arena progression bugs (PS5 specifically)
Make wild horses mountable
Rebuilding Kvatch would be an amazing addition. I know it’s not in the original, but if there was one major thing I’d add, it’s restoring a city after the oblivion crisis.
New spells: Bound Longsword and Bound Shortsword
Also ability to delete spells (or just custom spells), or at least a new magic tab to add/remove spells, sort of like a quick spell list or favorites list
I’d like to see weight values for my character on the loot pane, kinda annoying at times having to close the loot window and open my inventory to remind myself if a certain item I’m about to loot will encumber me.
More housing options would be a nice addition.
Needs:
Sub-categories in the inventory menu
Scars and tattoo options in CC
Morrowind Armor like Bonemold and Chitin
Nordic Steel
Crossbows
Wants:
Marriage options why not
Questline to rebuild Kvatch/become Count/Countess of Kvatch
Isle of Stirk
Invite Glarthir to Shivering Isles after you become Madgod.
Survival Mode
My top wishlist for oblivion remaster would be:
Better difficulty slider (like everyone else is saying)
Better inventory and magic management options. Adding subsections would be great, a keyring, a "useable/clutter" tab in the misc section.
Stop time while using the quickslot wheel. Or at least slow it down. Time stops when i open the inventory to equip my sword, why shouldn't it if i use the wheel?
Hide helmet option. Pretty standard option these days.
Timed block option: adding a parry would be unreasonable, but something as simple as a "buff block 50 points the first second of holding block" would make combat feel more rewarding and skill based.
Option/ability to scale legendary items to your level. Right now you need to wait to get the best version of the rewards you actually want.
Hardcore/survival mode. I know that now we are in the realm of wishes, but an hardcore mode with more impactful diseases, no hp regen, hunger/sleep would be really cool
By far my biggest gripe is having to zoom in thr map every time I open it when I want to see the local map, gimme a button to go straight to the local map!
It would be good to do another physics pass on all objects: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Qoeg2HZjx/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Adjust the colour balance on ambient light so it doesn't look like you're viewing it through a brown filter, gets particularly bad around sunrise and sunset. Shifting the tint on my TV from red to green and from warm to cool helped but only a little, and it makes everything else I use the TV for look wrong.
experience needed to level needs to be slowed down to like 40% of what it currently is. you level basically as fast as you do in skyrim, but level 20 is endgame, whereas in skyrim level 50+ is endgame
The Xbox series s/x needs a graphical patch for the game. I've noticed that whenever I load into a new area, or simply exit a room, the game becomes a bright white and the graphics take a few seconds to load in. I've noticed a lot of elemental effects that, especially the fire/ falling embers in and around oblivion gates, look like glowing fractured lines instead of small glowing orbs. Same thing happens with any light source, or elemental effect on weapons. There are a lot of frame rate issues, especially in forests and the shivering isles. My character randomly starts glowing with effects from healing spells or from the enchantments that your armor has, along with lingering swimming bubbles, or enemy spell effects. I have to remove all my armor and weapons for it to go away. The sound design for the characters sometimes sound like they are really far away even when you're in dialog or just standing near the npc.
If survival mode is introduced, vampires should not be required to eat to survive and weather should not affect them
I think the survival mode would require a cooking system, which Skyrim has but Oblivion doesn't.
Cyrodil has some cooked meals, but they're treated as alchemical ingredients and players weren't able to make any outright.
Something that would be appreciated is tweaking the enemy scaling so that you could still encounter lower levelled enemies at higher levels.
This would make certain loot easier to obtain at higher levels as well as making combat encounters more varied.
Another suggestion is limiting the armour tier of bandits and marauders at something lower than glass and daedric making higher tier armour feel more special.
Change the difficulty. The gap between Adept and Expert is absurd. Especially considering in Expert I hit a simple bandit for almost no damage, while my skeleton summon hits them for 25-50% of their HP. Either implement a slider like OG oblivion, or make the gap between difficulties significantly less. And add one option where EVERYONE'S, PC included, hp and damage are all 100%
Please, put level caps on enemies, and perhaps add level capped areas. OG Oblivions biggest downfall was the constant enemy level scaling. Just make it like a standard RPG where some areas are low level, and some are high. And Bandits should not constantly wearing Ebony/Glass armor at higher levels. Allow NPCs, especially guards, to scale some as well, or significantly increase their combat power.
Loving revisiting Oblivion!! More DLC would be great. The misc quests are such timeless additions to the game. It'd be great to have a few new quests or even better a Shivering Isles type expansion.
Attributes gained from birthsigns can go past the normal attribute cap, so it’s not just an early game boost with no endgame effect, but carries on once you start maxing those attributes. Gives some more variety for picking all the birthsigns
It would be great if unique weapons/armor scaled with your character!
Suggestion: Official Mod kit support/Creation Club, allowing for creation kit and mod support will allow for more better ways for the game to thrive and to excell, much as Skyrim has all these years, Oblivion Remastered has opened up a whole new load of possbilities in terms not just of Visual represenation to the Worlds creates, the finer details of Armor, Weapons, Spells and More, but allowing for Mods to be in game will have plays fundamentally being able to play for more years, perhaps even allowing for new incorporations to be put into the game from Werewolves, Planes of Oblivion, and so much more.
Vanilla Lighting toggle pls (bright and saturated like the 2006 release)
Please give us a separate button to open indoor / dungeon maps instead of world map.
when optimization fixes for all platforms?
Simple difficulty sliders like OG or more difficulty modes please. I don't want to keep playing without it
I equip my bow on 1, and sword/shield on 2. When I swap from sword/shield to bow it would keep the shield visual on my character, often blocking my vision with the shild
this is such a minor thing but i'd love if the white horses were given a lighter mane - the whites were my favorite in the original and i think the black mane they have now looks odd
maybe look into cremellos, they have blonde manes! or fleabitten greys they look white with greyish white manes.
After I open the dungeon map, I can just open the menu to it. Same for you?
Probably suggested already, but please, let us disable the compass. 🙂
An option to pet the dogs. (My dog's name was Mojo and I want my character to be able to pet Anvil's Fighter's Guild dog Mojo)
Suggestion: For town maps please add add new icons to identify important buildings. Ex shop icons and guild icons at minimum. Currently all entrances have the same icon.
A physical release!
I'm sure devs are aware of it by now, but I was wondering if in a hot fix/patch or two we could potentially see the Blackwood Company armor restored to how it was in the original? Now it's just steel with the emblems but it used to be black with silver inlays. That was my favorite armor set.
Also, again I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but the Hackdirt Brethren now kinda just look like normal dudes instead of freaky. I was hoping maybe they could get refreakified. I feel like both of these things are pretty minor but still.
Hello! I am so happy Oblivion is finally in a state with remastered where I want to play it once a year like I do Skyrim. That said I do have suggestions:
I would like official mod support so I don't have to rely on Nexxus.
I would also like to be able to have two summons at once if you are master (as in Skyrim.)
I would also like survival options more akin to Fallout 4 rather than Skyrim.
I would also like to mark an item in inventory as favorite so I don't accidentally sell or drop it.
Further, if I could have a "combat outfit" and "bartering outfit" and "casual outfit" option so I could just select it and all my equipment would swap that would be great.
The enemy AI in Skyrim also seems a bit more nuanced. If I am in a large room and I snipe an enemy, the others are aware this happened. This doesn't seem to happen in Oblivion. I would like that.
I also love the level up system, but as skills get to 100, I think they should feel more impactful.
Finally, there is no (easy) way to "Legendary" a skill like in Skyrim. I would like to be able to Legendary it to like level 15 or 25 so I can gain XP using it again to continue leveling.
I am totally addicted to this game and hope some new content comes out for it as well. 10/10 Would buy.
unleveled quest rewards
Suggestion.
Can we get a map expansion?
- I’d like to explore more areas of Tamriel. It would be awesome to have that in oblivion.
- The DLC for Skyrim going to solstheim was awesome to see other cultures in the world after spending so much time in Skyrim.
- At least consider it for elder scrolls 6. However I’d love to see it in Skyrim.
Needs:
Sub-categories in the inventory menu
Scars and tattoo options in CC
Morrowind Armor like Bonemold and Chitin
Nordic Steel
Crossbows
Wants:
Marriage options why not
Questline to rebuild Kvatch/become Count/Countess of Kvatch
Isle of Stirk
Invite Glarthir to Shivering Isles after you become Madgod.
•I think there needs to be 2 more slots minimal for the quick wheel, and a way to bind hand-to-hand to it as well.
•Please add a way to remove spells without the need of commands or mods.
Hey everyone! Just wanted to drop a few thoughts after sinking more hours into Oblivion Remastered—the work that’s been put into this is incredible, but I think there are a few things that could really polish the experience and make it feel even more immersive. Here goes:
-
Combat Balance: Too Easy or Too Grind-y?
Right now, combat feels a little off—either enemies go down with hardly any effort, or they're absolute sponge-fests. It’d be great if the difficulty curve could feel more consistent. There's a sweet spot between total domination and feeling like you're attacking with a toothpick. Would love to see that nailed down. -
Combat Feedback & Impact
We all remember that "floaty" combat from 2006 with a bit of fondness, but it could really use some weight behind it now. While the blood splashes and stagger effects are already in the game, they still feel a bit... underwhelming? A little more weight behind the hits could do wonders. It’s like when you hit an enemy with a sword, but they barely flinch. Let’s take those stagger effects to the next level—more realistic reactions, like enemies stumbling or actually feeling the weight of your blows. And while dismemberment might be a bit much for some, it would definitely add a more physical and immersive feel to the combat. Just remember, let’s keep it fluid—no third-person finishing moves that break the rhythm. Keep the fight in the player’s hands, where it belongs. 😎 -
Movement Speed: Sprinting Should Feel Like Sprinting
Running and sprinting feel almost identical right now, which isn’t very satisfying. It would be great if there was a more obvious difference in speed between walking and sprinting, especially when you’re trying to dodge or make a quick escape. Sprinting should feel like a desperate dash—not just a slightly faster jog.
From the moment I saw that there was a suggestions page I wanted to ask if there was a way to make the health bar either stay longer on the enemy or even better hover over their head because as a mage my dot damage is hard to notice and sometimes I feel like I'm not doing any damage. If this can be implemented it would mean the world to me.
I think what they should focus on is anything that enhances roleplay. Like in Cyberpunk's update where you can invite romances over and sit at bars to have a drink, it's the small things that go a long way. Anything from being able to actually work as a guard to being able to cook food would be great small additions.
Please bring back greener grass
An option to remove the dot/crosshair when not in combat. Running around with a constant dot in the middle of the screen can be a bit annoying.
A stable patch so the game runs at a constant frame rate.
Tidy up the inventory menu so it’s less cluttered.
Fix the sprint animation.
Make the higher level difficulties scale better.
First person horse riding
Mod support and mod support on consoles are things I know a lot of people are hoping for
Add cheats support for console
I think a character appearance changer would be nice, like how it was implemented in skyrim with an npc
Mods
The biggest problem with the game, above all else is the difficulty. Adept is too easy and expert is simply impossible. We need a less steep difficulty than x3 damage an .7 damage reduction.
NPCs cant open locked doors. For example in Inns, they walk into the doors and i have to pick them so they can go inside and sleep (and so i can drink their blood lol)
On adept sometimes enemies just dont attack back. Noticed alot more in the shivering isles though.
Leveled items. We should really be able to use our favorite gear no matter what level we are or were when we got it. Please add item scaling so we can enjoy the whole game with our favorite stuff!
Professional cartographer here! 🗺 I did some academic research on maps in video games and evaluated how to improve maps and games by learning from the other. I do cartographic consulting for improved cartographic and UI/UX design! Here are some thoughts on the map in the remaster:
Improvements:
-
Some folks have mentioned this but a great QoL improvement for map interaction would just be smarter memory/detection of which map to show a player. There's more than meets the eye to this and quite a bit wrapped up in this suggestion, but here's just a couple suggestions. When the player enters a dungeon, the local map should be the default map view. This gets a little tricky as you leave, since some folks might want the localized map view outside of a dungeon, but I would default to overworld map as you are outside.
-
To some of the stances in point 1, it would be great to have a simpler toggle between local and world view.
Bug fixes:
-
While moving in-game, if you press start or the map hotkey to bring the map up, the map is centered in the upper lefthand corner of the map. This is especially confusing for dungeon maps since it's just blank parchment texture with no reference points (you can press the "center on player" button but it's helpful to not have to do that interaction).
-
When you close the map and bring it up again, it should (usually) default to the zoom level you were last at. This is how it works if you pause/unpause the game and have done no other start menu interaction. However, if you switch tabs or use the map hotkey to bring the map up, it defaults to the overworld view. This, again, is most frustrating when navigating a dungeon. If a player brings up the dungeon map and switches to the "Magic" tab and back to the "Map" tab, it should be the same view as they left it; and if the player has set the local view as the map, the map should keep this state.
I've got more in the can and more to find out!
Please make a VR version if you played one time Skyrim VR you never want to play anything without VR.
I think a Hud Opaqueness slider like Skyrim would be nice, the game is so beautiful but it's hard to take nice screenshots with the hud in the way. And personally I find playing without hud more immersive
Great remaster but the level scaling for loot and enemies is rough!
Lower level gear and enemies should remain in the world as you level up and enemies should have level caps so enemies don't get so spongy later into the game
Levelled gear should scale with you or have fixed levels
Weapons and armor should be temperable, steel weapons and armor look great but fall off incredibly quick!
Definitely need some sort of keyring to store all these different keys
OPTIMIZATION FIRST AND FOREMOST
Then add or fix anything else 🙂
+1 for console mod support. This is my first Elder Scrolls game (yes I'm that young lol). And I would love to get into the modding scene and share mods
Edit: Also would be fun to mod UE5 features
Here's one suggestion: please fix the staff of worms the reanimation doesn't occur like it should but I love the game nonetheless
mod support for consoles and pc, console window for consoles so we can fix bugs, armor breaking way too fast once you hit double digit levels
First thankyou for the love you have poured into this project, i have played oblivion since release and its my favourite game, and thanks for your continued support via this discord process. I'd like to see: select changed from enter to E for all menus especially dialogue, and wait menu. When i press M for map i cant close the map by pressing M again, this should be implemented with all menus, I to close inventory etc. upon loading into a new area in third person a t pose spawn is observable, or the player spawns too close to the door and camera causing the screen to blur, id recommend moving the spawn distance out. Separators should be introduced into inventory for potions ingredients and alchemy equipment and soul gems, at the moment it takes scrolling though the entire list to find anything. In terms of adding features, I would like a follower system like skyrim's, where various members of guilds ive joined like ah-malz or npc's ive completed quests of, like dar-ma can follow and carry items, this would make journeying around less lonely, and make picking up loot easier and less frustrating since i constantly feel overburdened and unable to pick up a huge amount of loot. The amount of gold available to vendors could also level with the player, OR with their disposition towards the player, rather than being static, its difficult to sell an item worth 5000 to a vendor who only ever gives you 800 regardless of personality and mercantile and disposition values. Finally, if it is at all possible to release mod tools or even pdf help guide, a lot of these and other problems can be fixed and added long after your studio has moved onto to your next project, i don't presume your support will last forever but modders have been proven to do just that, allowing the community to support this remaster via mods would go a long way in ensuring the popularity and continued interest in the franchise going forward towards the release on elder scrolls 6, thankyou for listening.
--Please adjust sprint animation
--Please adjust strange gap between adept and expert
--Please make player footsteps slightly louder overall, you can hardly hear them even with max footstep volume
--Please make an overall performance/stability pass on the game, currently it feels like using DLSS or FSR AI framegen is a must on any PC system and I don't think it should really be like that.
--Please give some guidance to the community as to how to mod the game or please provide updated construction set for the game.
--When in third person and spawning into the world from entering a door, a lot of times there seems to be a weird falling into place animation on your player character.... I think this is a bug, hard to describe.
--Please create an option setting that allows you to go back to original oblivion leveling up system and toggle between old/new leveling at the beginning of the game.
I personally have always liked Oblivion more than Skyrim even though Skyrim was awesome--with that said I just want the dev team to know that if you were to make an all new full fledged DLC expansion for Oblivion remastered I would absolutely buy it if it was good.
Thank you to dev team for reading. Thank you to Godd Howard for being such a cool dude and putting up with a lot of both constructive and non-constructive criticism from the community.
Photo's taken in photo mode appear on the loading screen, thank you:)
More votes from me for Level cap for enemies and color saturation
Could we have a whistle to call our horse? Would be nice to have them show up rather than having to fast travel 🐎
I’m against the idea of new land dlcs generally, but the isle of Stirk isn’t a bad idea if virtuous is going to do one.
Please add the ability to disable the glow around items when picking items up
I equip my bow on 1, and sword/shield on 2. When I swap from sword/shield to bow it would keep the shield visual on my character, often blocking my vision with the shild
I assume its been mentioned, but if not, could we please give back the Hackdirt brothers their big eyes and unsettling features? They just look like a bunch of normal dudes.
The new lighting systems afforded by UE5 are gorgeous. However, the current setup leaves interiors looking very dark. This feels appropriately atmospheric for caves, but for houses and buildings in towns it feels odd and dreary. Adding more luminance to windows or simply brightening interiors would be wonderful.
Mod support please for consoles and PC (I will gladly buy the PC version if it happens as I already own the ps5 version).
Will also gladly buy a Bethesda mod that adds dual wielding and a lock-on system, attack commitment type of combat (like modders did with Skyrim) as an optional mod. Take my money 🥹
I’d like to suggest adding support for the original localized voiceovers from the 2006 release (such as French, German, Spanish, etc.).
This would allow non-English-speaking players to enjoy the game with full immersion and nostalgia, while still benefiting from all the improvements of the remaster.
Elsweyr DLC
Please have the map default to the last location and zoom level when you open it again
Thanks so much for collecting our feedback. Our entire family are big fans! Below my suggestions: 1) male faces are ugly, please help us generate good looking male characters. 2) Sprinting looks ridiculous. 3) French voicing would be nice. 4) Opportunity to change appearance later in the game. 5) Fix bugs: subtitles don’t work (Azura), crashes, framerate, etc. Thanks so much for this great surprise!
Please restore The Dark Brotherhood door to its former glory.
The red glow and sinister sound effects made the door in the original feel like a door to hell itself and I feel it was one of the most iconic parts of the questline.
Now the door just has no aura, no glow and no sound effects. Also it seems to depict 7 children instead of 5 like the lore states
Overall the remaster is great but I really would love some touch ups that completely recreate the magic of oblivion and maybe the option to toggle to the old voice lines and/or sound effects

Physics & Movement: Let’s Ground It a Bit More
At the moment, the physics feel a little... floaty. Every surface seems a bit too slick, and your character moves as if gravity is just a suggestion. A more grounded approach would make a huge difference. Think about climbing a mountain in the Jerall Mountains—you should feel some resistance, like you're actually struggling against the elements, not gliding through the snow. ❄️ -
Hardcore Mode: Adding Survival Layers
While Oblivion wasn’t exactly a survival game, it would be great to add a bit more difficulty by playing with elements already in the game world. Imagine needing to eat, drink, and sleep regularly, manage your temperature in cold regions, and treat injuries or infections (looking at you, Frostbite Spiders). It wouldn’t need to be a full-on survival mode, just enough to make you think twice before venturing into wilderness without a warm cloak or enough rations. It’s all about adding some extra depth to the world, without turning it into a Survivalist’s Guide to Tamriel. -
UI Customization
Would be awesome to have an option to turn off the compass for those who want a more immersive, old-school way of exploring. Also, the ability to adjust the opacity of the object info windows could be a small but meaningful addition for players who like a cleaner UI but don’t want to lose useful details.
Overall, huge props again to the devs for bringing Oblivion back into the spotlight. Can’t wait to see what comes next. As always, I’m hoping for Tamriel to feel more alive—and these little changes could go a long way. And to everyone else—let's keep the discussions going!
Suggestion: Allow the "Light" spell effect to overlap with other visual effects. Currently, especially when using the "Chameleon" spell effect, "Light" disappears after a short time, or never appears at all. "Light" also does not appear in 1st-Person until you zoom to 3rd-person at least once.
Two words: Spell Delete
In the vile lair, the cattle that you're intended to feed on doesn't sleep so you can't feed on him! Please fix!
We NEEEEEEED a keyring so i don't have to wave through 100 keys looking for other items.
Personally i feel like there is an issue with the speed stat. I dont want to be so fast that i can run a mile in 2 seconds. My speed stat is 45 and i feel i leveled it too far. With the inherent way they leveling works i will have no choice eventually but to get speed to 100 once everything else is maxed.
There should be a gradual increase in movement speed, what i mean is on a controller there is painfully slow walking and then jogging. Your character should gradually increase speed with the input of the analog instead of there only being two set speeds. This woulf also help with the speed issue to an extent.
Longer hairstyles clip through your back when walking or wearing bigger armor. Super immersive breaking.
When you open the inventory your character is always unarmed instead of holding their equipped weapons/shield/arrows.
No cast shadow in first person for the player. Sometimes there is a shadow just for weapons. So there are floating weapon shadows on the ground.
Please add a direct sunlight mechanic for vampires. If outside and taking sun damage, i feel that if im standing in the shade i should not be taking sun damage.
Local maps please
Humble Suggestions for Oblivion:
-
Sub category organization in inventory. Example: In original Oblivion the Alchemy tab was organized so that alchemical tools were always at the top, followed by all potions, and then ending with all ingredients. And it was all in alphabetical order for each sub category. This applied to all tabs.
-
Vampirism Stage 3+ bug: After contracting Porphyric Hemophilia, forgetting i had it and waking up a vampire, i decided to go with it for character development. Unfortunately i found out that upon reaching stage 3 your hair disappears after you dream and load a new cell. Your hair doesnt reappear until you reach stage 4 and dream, but again, loading a new cell causes it to disappear again. This affects all vampires. Ive fought many bald vampires and Vicente Valteri's hair continues to spontaneously appear and disappear.
-
Inventory bug: Equipped weapons disappear from player character in inventory 3d model view. Player character always has their fists displayed as the currently equipped weapon, despite being armed.
-
More unique/distinctive audible difference in footsteps when barefoot vs wearing boots.
-
Increase the max volume for the beautiful ingame music. It is currently much quieter than every other sound option, despite being set to 10 in the options. I got jumpscared by a bandit the other day because i didnt know i was in combat.
First of all, thank you for this remake/remaster. I bought it immediatelly and now finally came home to install it. I thought the original quirkness will create a problematic contrast between the old Gamebryo scripts and modern beautiful Unreal Engine 5 visual but somehow it is still pretty good which I am glad for. But to the point.
Please consider adding the options to:
- turn off the compass
- turn off the quest markers
I love that you added the filter on the map but we cannot filter out the quest markers. The original game did not have these options, but Skyrim had it.
I, an immersion looking player, always play with the most minimalistic hud possible. The better immersion, no handholding - this is how I and I believe also many other players play games. So please, consider adding these options.
Yeah, many players need to have some form of guidance and that is aboslutely fine. But what about the others, from the "other side"?
Last, but not least, please if you decide to do it, do not make it the cheap way - just the HUD on/off - because many games do that and that causes a big problem for us non-native english speaking persons. Often when games have the option to toggle the HUD off, it also toggles off the subtitles.
Thank you!!
The option to enable General Subtitles was removed from this version of the game despite being present in the original. As a hard of hearing player, this means I miss most of the dialogue that doesn't take place within the actual dialogue menu. This is a major accessibility issue.
Also, in the original game, opening the map when inside an interior cell would always open to the local map. In the new version, you have to zoom in for a few seconds to access the local map. Please revert this behaviour to the original, it was much more convenient.
You are also no longer able to rebind the menu interaction key, and it is stuck on "Enter". I only have two hands. Please let me rebind this to another key, such as E or space.
I'm sure that lots have mentioned it already, but having leveled quest rewards level with you. Mod support for consoles, local map defaults when in non-world map location, option to delete spells.
I suggest the ability to respec your major stats as a console command, or maybe even an item that does this once per playthrough
Please add " - cleared" next to a name of a location, which appears when you complete it. Dungeons, gates etc. Just like it was in Skyrim.
I d love a change for telekinesis, as an ability to deal dmg if youbthrow something with Thatcher spell
- Please return (or add back) the ability to remove "grass" clutter so that only alchemical plants are shown .
- Please add a low level (assume say level 15 of skill) night eye one can get after first start, perhaps at edgar votrenes?
- Please add an option to lower fog density or remove it
- please add an option to control particle count and animation
- If you are not already please work with the unoffical patch folks as there are several old bugs that are "back" such as for me "Mystic Emporium is locked"
- Please update leveled items and spells so they level with thier skill (like fingers of the mountain - destruction) and Umbra's Sword . this is so it gets udpated but stays usable to the player. There are a bunch of mods that do this but they scale of player level, often makign the item unusable)
- Consider adding peristent markers for player found items such as Shrines, Stones, points of interest etc
- consdier working with mod authros on how to add sliders etc so the user can easily do soem performace tuning as well
- sort inventory items by function, amount damaged, if magic
- group and sort inventory (including spells and potions) into "magic" , "quality" , Fully/partially/needs charges . which is to day we can make groups like magical , ebony, each then sorted by a sub modifer)
- I would love a map overlay that is "self found" to say search map for herbs like "Viper Bugloss" etc so once I visit I can go back to where I can forage for more
- add a self found optiont o the map of "over there I saw a ruin/fort etc so I can go back later
- I would love the abiltiy to just respec my primary skills but not loose my skill ups :>
Please keep in mind that this channel is for suggestions only. Please submit bug reports either in #1087805579399004210 or by submitting a ticket.
I just want to see the total weight of a stack of items in my inventory, rather than the weight of a single one of those items.
PLEASE FIX THE DUALSENSE SUPPORT FOR PC (STEAM, possibly gamepass if not already done there)
If we do ever get new DLC I would like to see a Vampire centric faction added that you can rank up within.
And maybe include a Lycanthropic Faction as well since Oblivion doesn’t have Werewolves, more factions to progress through would be fun.
Give us Dismemeberment, fix the weird shimmering when moving sword over water. Fix running animation, fix performance, fix the weighing scales make it work again. Fix
Laggy health bar feedback on enemies, give us a burning body texture when using fire. Give us better hot keys for consoles. Allow ps5 users to change the touchpad button and also to use ps5 edge controller paddles as additionall keys.
make enemies that fly.
make the leveling system like the original
make unarmed combat and the physics like the original ( punching corpses on the ground and they react etc )
make players have to find martin in a random oblivion gate the player must find. ( you can just skip every gate and finish main quest makes them pointless)
make more enemies and things happen when you walk around.
focus on combat making it fun right now its like you made everything overpowered and easier. my unarmed build im 3 tapping people before i would have to hit like 15 times. hp regen makes the game way too easy.
add skill checks too places. fix the leveling system yours isnt good at all. just fix the og one where endurace isnt the best stat to always get.
make items and such better when you see them. chests are like useless untill the end game. its not fun it makes you just ignore chests. honestly just make a new map with the same formula. give us places to walk around and random events happen.
the main quest is really bad compared to everything. redo the main quest make it longer, make it have you close all the gates and find martin in one of them something anything. the main quest needs alot of work. thieves guild, brotherhood, mages guild on and on are so much better. please try to make the main quest cooler better longer harder and connect everything together. make the end game boss mahrunes dagon a actual boss fight. the ending is really bad imo.
try to fix radiant AI and use modern AI to make it not break
fix the whole mini game trying to get speechcraft n stuff its really bad. just redo it.
make the dungeons better the aylied runes and dungeons have a bad layout. redo them.
i always never care about the stones you touch that give you summon temp gear. change these make them randomly appear on the map and just make them cooler and worth getting. i never use those stones in any of my runs.
gore mode, decapitations etc.
I will post this here as well. Please do not discuss real world social or political issues, even as a suggestion. The conversation sparks arguments and we are not entertaining that. Please message @jovial sky for any questions.
Increase the damage the player does on expert and Master difficulties to a reasonable amount
This would serve to make these difficulties actually a reasonable challenge rather than be unreasonably spongy State they are in.
I'd love to see the enemies damage remain as high as as it is because I think that does inject a healthy difficulty to it
I would like a Survival and Hardcore mode with negative perks similar to Kingdom Come. Ideally, it should be linked to a PlayStation Trophy. Players should have to eat and sleep, with no compass and no position marker on the map.
There should be ambushes and gangs lying in wait for you. I would also love to see more random, very powerful unique items (stronger than anything you can craft) that have a very low drop chance from chests, slightly boosted by a luck stat. Morrowind Style
An endless progression system similar to the legendary skills in Skyrim would be great. Maybe, in addition to the Oblivion-style enchantment stones at the end of dungeons, there could also be a small permanent attribute bonus. Nothing too overpowered, just a little extra motivation
An option to use color grading closer to the original game
Make holding the start button quicksave the game
Shortcut to local map, or going to local map by default when not on the overworld. (please) ❤️
-
The main issue was difficulty. There should be a difficulty between adept and expert.
-
Besides that, maybe some clearer onscreen indications when you are sick.
-
I also feel like the camera movement is also a bit stiff (when using a controller on PC) maybe add some more curves to allow us to better tune camera controls.
-
Rebinding the direction buttons. Swapping between spells is a bit of a pain, and we have more buttons available. For an easy change, just let me bind some spells to the directional buttons in addition to the larger quick select. For a harder change, let me equip two spells at once (one to each bumper) and move quick select to the keypad. Especially given how short some spells last (such as summon weapons and mage armor) making swapping between spells just a bit faster would be a huge change.
Certain NPCs having no option to back out of dialogue when there’s otherwise no reason (Man-at-Arms, where by talking if they’re a follower, you’re forced to make them wait or dismiss). Please let the player exit the convo via the back button of whatever input device they use
The ability to properly gear your followers. As of right now you need to reverse-pickpocket them. Let us just manually change it like Skyrim.
Combat music should only play if there's a big enough threat imo, like how it works in Skyrim. Just so a random mudcrab doesn't interrupt the beauty of Auriel's Ascension
Dual wielding
An option for "Classic mode" would be wonderful, and reverts every aspect of the game too vanilla.
When set on, it should;
1.) use all classic sounds. Melee, voice acting, walking, jumping, all sounds reverted to the original.
2.) use the original's combat, like how you could swing your weapon like a madman without the pause the remaster forces.
4.) old leveling system(maybe, or optional).
Also, there needs to be a separate option for Classic UI. I love the old compass so much and miss it dearly. Also a setting to turn off UI the compass, turn off quest markers etc.
Loving the remake so far! Here are my suggestions
-The ability to compare stats of new items vs equipped items
-A Local Map hotkey or section for dungeons
-Be able to recharge or repair items from the items menu and not have to scroll through misc to find the hammers
-Completed tag for dungeons and forts that i've already gone through
-Sometimes when looking at certain NPC's there wont be a name it'll just have a talk symbol
-And more of an ask but is there a possibility to add some more unique weapons and armor
Modding tools
Mod support 🙏
It would be nice if you could toggle run/walking on console.
Not sure if the dev's actually read these or not but:
- A physical/disk version would be awesome! One of the big reasons I'm not currently playing.
- If mods come to pc, can you please add them to the console versions as well?
Sliders for adjusting various difficulty parameters, including XP bonuses/penalties, as in Starfield, would be nice.
Also, a way to reduce the amount of visual fish and scurrying bugs would be appreciated. Those bugs in particular freak me out a bit.
The height for the different player races is bugged I thought I fixed it by sitting on a horse and saving then leaving the game then loading that save on the horse fixes it until I leave the game and have to load a save I'm playing bosmer so that's how I can tell when the height bug seems to stem from the default race on character creator being the imperial so it keeps defeaulting to that height
I really just want a few small quality-of-life changes and I'm good.
-
More, specific inventory tabs. Miscellaneous is kind of a dumping ground and it's hard to find some things. Specifically, I'd love a tab for just keys. Better yet, a keyring item that stores all keys on it.
-
A way to assign the torch its own button on console. I don't really ever open the character button or even magic, so I'd love to assign that to a d-pad direction.
-
On that note, the ability to assign stuff to the touch button on the PS5 controller. It gives the option, but for some reason just doesn't work unless it's to rest.
-
This one's kinda out there, especially if the dev team wants to make it an accurate experience, but I'd like an option to respec my character if I want. I don't care if it's an NPC or just a menu option, but PC players get to with console commands so I think console players should be able to. Maybe it costs septims or something.
-
I'd like to use the mouse function in the alchemy tab on console. Like how there's the mouse cursor on the map. The menu isn't great but i think being able to just click like on the map would help.
Oh yes, Im sorry I forgot one crucial thing!
Please add the old color palette!! :))))))))
Please let us on PC use "E" and WASD to navigate dialogue and other prompts
Please make it so that we can see our current weight while looting. Its baffling to me that it was even removed to begin with.
I want items to scale or able to be upgraded, I picked up Escutcheon of Chorrol fairly early on my first playthrough and it's got 15% damage reflect
I'm enjoying the heck out of this remaster. But I'm also on the bandwagon for difficulty scale readjustment. I want enemies to feel like a threat, potentially killing me in 2-4 hits should I not block them. But it's a bit ridiculous that on expert I just burned all my health and Magicka pots (for healing). Mind you I blocked almost every attack. And I still haven't cleared the first section of Vilverin on that character. Adept is way too easy, but expert and master you rely on kiting and cheeses. Please adjust. Thanks.
--Please consider adding Skyrim/fallout style, weapon based kill moves/kill cam to the game when dispatching enemies.
I know this would be a lot of work, but slow mo kill cam moves from Skyrim would be awesome.
--Please consider improving how hand to hand combat works so that it's actually a viable combat skill and fun to play. Maybe add new hand to hand strikes/grappling/MMA/wrestling type stuff to hand to hand.
Good suggestions so far, from what I've seen. I have not read everything so here are a coupe of items that would be nice.
-
Difficulty between Adept and Expert would be awesome.
-
An indication on what souls are captured in my soul gems.
It's probably been asked before, but a classic mode toggle for aspects of the game. Like UI, leveling, combat, and exploits (let's be honest, part of the fun is the jank brokenness) That way it's possible to offer a more polished experience similar to what the developers initially "wanted" to release. But simultaneously restoring the memories and fun those of us that played it the first go around can relive.
The one thing this game desperately needs is a way to go straight to the local map. Either make it a separate button, or at least make the map save my last use so that if I was looking at Local last time, when I open again it will go to local.
Otherwise thanks so much guys, AWESOME remaster.
I have an idea for a really nice, though ambitious, piece of DLC for Oblivion Remastered:
A new realm to explore: Aetherius, the opposite of Oblivion. The plane of the Divines and the departed who have ascended would be a great contrast to the titular focus on the Daedric Planes of Oblivion.
It would be amazing to find the spirits of Emperor Uriel Septim and perhaps Martin after completing the main quest and commune with them. They could evaluate your journey in Cyrodiil and mention the quests and factions you have under your belt and make your character's adventure come to life even more.
Thing is, This would require the likes of Patrick Stewart and Sean Bean to reprise their roles for this content. But man, how awesome would it be to visit their characters again in some form of afterlife journey?
Just a thought, but I think it would be amazing if it became reality.
Claymore feels undertuned
First and Foremost. Thank you for all the time spent on this remake. It means a lot to me. I finally get to play skyrim all the way through.
My suggestions are:
Another short cut wheel for weapons spells and any other item. It's exhausting to pause mid fight to swap my spells.
And please make another level of difficulty between adept and expert. The gap is very large.
More ways to increase your Magicka.
Make Imperial Palace Guard Armour playable.
Change weapons mid-fight. Maybe armor too, I mean why not
Would like to see the leveling happening with one sleep if you've levelled up several levels before sleeping. I have to say that it is a bit annoying that we need to sleep again and again to level up, for each level separately. Of course, that would mean that we will get all the attributes points that we deserve and every 10 points we can select an extra attribute and level up above the 5 points we've already reached. I know that this will take a bit more coding but I think it can be accomplished and it would be a great quality of life that I am sure many players would appreciate, especially those who are like me and sometimes they simply cannot find a place to sleep or are locked out from a bedroll due to enemies nearby which are hard to locate. Or there is no place at all to sleep when we are in an Oblivion portal and forgot to level up before we got in.
Having something that marks area on you map which you have already explored.
I've heard the Goblin Wars mechanic still isn't functioning correctly I'd love to see that working as intended, and having the inventory subcategories would be a huge quality of life update, as well as a keychain to avoid inventory clutter and a spell archive for the same reason
Would it be possible to have a favourites tab so that you can't sell your nice things by accident
Along with fixing male models to not look 50 at their youngest (I'm not kidding, males do not look younger than 50, and it is so frustrating, especially when you can make females look young), please also make black hair actually black and not dark brown.
Local map quick button please!
Thank you for a great remaster, it feels nostalgic in the best way! But the leveling up feels too fast. I don't have time to savor items or exciting enemies before they scale to new ones. It's not uncommon to have three levels in the bag when getting back from a few quests. Also, the difficulty scaling is too harsh. Adept is too easy, but Expert is a slog, which also makes me level up faster since every enemy takes more spells or hits.
I d like a télékinésis spell that could deal damages if you throw something on an enemy with that spell. It would be awesome.👍
optimization patch when
German voices would be great and the performance in the world outside is still in need of improvement
Spell delete from spell book
-
A toggleable on-screen visual indicator of when it's safe to rest would be nice (when enemies are not considered to be "nearby"). Would save the pain point of moving back 5 feet, try to rest, move back another 5 feet, try to rest again, repeat until success.
-
Super low priority, but hair looks different in the character creator vs once you leave the sewer. This is independent of any graphics settings (happens on low and on ultra). Specifically the 5-o-clock-shadow beard becomes just a solid color on your face in main gameplay.
-
The ability to disable Lumen via graphics settings.
-
Color palette filter options
-
Ability to hotkey dodge to a button without needing to block for it
-
Horseback combat👀
Suggestion: please patch the performance issues in general and the horrendous ghosting issues with FSR. The game generally has minor ghosting issues, but it’s unplayable with FSR, even without frame gen.
D-Pad Magic Quick Access
Game is perfect aside from changing the function of the directional buttons. Quick access to menus is great, but not necessary for gameplay experience. The use of the directional buttons to access spells allowed seamless use of magic making it a key part of the game. Requiring a menu and pausing character control (while allowing the game to run/and be attacked) while scrolling through a pinwheel menu to “quickly” access a spell is very cumbersome, especially as opposed to the streamlined quick access used in the original game. I cannot stressed enough how immersion breaking this mechanic is. I’ve created a discord account strictly to bring up this issue which has caused me to completely pause my gameplay until fixed.
I absolutely love what has been done to the game and wish to play as originally presented but with the amazing graphical updates. Perhaps both options could be achieved by going back to original quick magic dpad function while requiring the user to press”x” button along with the dpad input to access the menus as you have implemented currently.
I would LOVE dual wielding for Ovlivion and medium armor. That is all. Great remaster
Integrate P40L0X's unreal 5 tweaks for better performance.
Add difficulty between Adept and Expert.
More hair options.
Fix Goblin Wars.
More quick access slots and the option for D pad items/magic to be assigned instead of the menu pages.
PLEASE fix the dark brotherhood door.
Difficulty fix please 🙏 holding off on playing the game more until Expert Difficulty is fixed (or something is added in-between)
Hand-to-hand needs minor tuning it somehow got worse going from 2006 original to 2025 remaster
Small but meaningful tweaks that could make the skill viable:
-
The Damage Fatigue function of hand-to-hand needs to reduce or halt fatigue regeneration on enemies to restore the old function of knocking out an opponent. Something to this effect to compromise for the new fatigue system
-
Hand-to-hand needs better damage scaling OR damage scaling alternatives. Let the damage get much higher as you reach those expert to mastery levels, allow Fortify Strength and Fortify Hand-to-hand contribute to damage beyond the 100 cap, even making faster swinging animations would help
-
If we’re open to adding more brand new stuff to this remaster, add a spell and enchantment to add hand-to-hand, let gauntlet armor and quality add damage, honestly anything would help in its current situation
I really want an ai fix, nothing crazy just have it so that NPCs don't get stuck in other people's houses or their own houses like Fathis Ules
Repair Hammer - Repair All option.
I really want to see hand to hand combat revamped and improved as well. Like all new fist strikes/grappling/kicking-- the works.
Performance fixes please! I would love to not have frame drops or crashes wen loading into open world. Adjusting enemy AI detection for stealth combat would be nice too. Also, accurate hair color in initial character creator would be awesome too
Fix the outdoor skylight the game looks so much better with outdoor shadows
Also, could we have photo mode?
Remaster skyrim again but as a dlc so i can play through all of skyrim and oblivion on the same character like its the tale of two wastelands mod for fallout newvegas/fallout 3
Also morrowind
Call it 'Shards of Prophecy'
Your character isnt actually there theyre just remembering the past and future
Bring back first person horse riding!
Fantastic remaster/remake. More quick slots for weapons/spells/items. More inventory sorting options, sifting through ingredients and potions is annoying at times. Adjust difficulty between adept and expert. Dual wielding would be a plus with weapons and or spells. Making skills legendary after maxing out would be great for players who want to continue to grow. Maybe adding a birds eye view map to compliment the original as well as an interior map. More perks/benefits whilst leveling up skills and attributes.
i use an autoclicker for repair and it works great
An option to change our character's appearance without console commands would be wonderful! I made my character somewhat quickly and she ended up looking different than I'd expected because of the lighting. I think it's also just fun to change our PC's hair throughout the game hehe
Can you change the enemy combat ai to only target the player and not their horse? I had to chase down my horse who was being chased down by 4-5 wolves, a bandit, a boar, a necromancer, and a skeleton, and I saved it once, but you can't fight while riding a horse, so when I ran a distance away to re-engage, it started running away and the enemies kept chasing it. Ended up losing the horse to wolves. I understand the wolves chasing the horse, but the bandit and skeleton and necromancer? Please
Underwater Locations/underwater exploration/water locations, it would be awesome to actually make something worth having breath underwater or walk on water. Having an Argonians village/camp under water would be pretty cool.
I don't know if this is the right place but there's a bug with persisting visual effects.
Chameleon effect won't go away when I unequip the items unless I load a save.
The ability to abandon quests or reset them
Console commands for console players! Or official mod support please!
Loving the game!
In my current playthrough, I would appreciate being able to poison arrows rather than the bow itself. This means you could generate a stock of poison arrows and not have to poison the bow after each strike which is annoying mid-combat.
It would be great if speed was selectable with your speed skill setting your maximum. I’m only level 6 and my speed feels impossible to control sometimes just walking around in the world.
HUD options please!
Claymores need a slight buff. Slow swing speed make 1h easily out dps them.
This is what I got at the moment:
- allow attacking from horseback (like skyrim)
- give players options to toggle a mini-map on or off
- allow for more map markers and custom labels
- allow an option for a traditional hotkey bar as opposed to only using “R” wheel model
- add a mapping key to go directly to the interior map of wherever your character is
- add the ability to remap a key to open all the options you have to hit “Tab” and then manually go to. For example, let me set “M” for world map, “I” for interior map, “K” for skills, etc. Not sure if this is possible already, so excuse this if it is.
- repair hammer should have a repair-all option
- add an option to select items as “restricted” in your inventory that prevents them from being sold accidentally
- add a "complete marker" or something to say you have completed a dungeon and add a pop up that allows you to "fast travel" back to the entrace once completed
- official mod support and workshop
Things I’d improve in Oblivion:
-
Let us skip the tutorial after the first playthrough or character creation.
-
After clearing a dungeon, give us the option to fast travel straight back to the entrance.
-
Quest markers on the compass should show if the objective is above or below us.
-
Allow us to view all active quests on the map at once, so we can clear multiple quests in the same area before moving on.
-
Add an in-game enemy guide in the menus, with info like weaknesses, lore, and background details.
-
Add a photo mode for capturing the beautiful moments.
-
Only give us the ability to fast travel to major towns or cities until after we have discovered them.
-
Add cleared next to a POI (Dungeon) on the map that has been traversed through.
-
Show a symbol for filled soul gems in our inventory’s
I would suggest the ability to equip a different spell in each hand like Skyrim. But also keep that spell key for old school players that liked having weapons out but still have that on demand spell cast.. also performance. My fps is unstable even on low settings with a Ryzen 5 3600, 32gb ram and 2060 6gb
Please, PLEASE change the loot/enemy leveling system to something bespoke. I know TrainWiz called you a naughty name, but it preceded a hard truth.
i feel like flawed gems and pearls and necklaces should be a bit more valuable, the potions i can make without any alchemy skill tend to be more valuable than them
An increase in the size of the quick slot scroll wheel or another one all together.
Also, it would be pretty neat if opening up the quick slot paused the game or maybe slowed it down a little.
This is probably controversial but here's a little suggestion. Maybe, just maybe, and hear me out on this, it would be nice to have upscaling options on gamepass version again.
Official mod support
Voice localisation like the original game.
Is it possible for this game to have localized storms like fo76? You rarely see that in games and I think it's awesome. Oblivion has a huge map and would be perfect for it.
Here me out. A perfect suggestion
What if we gave the option to players that own both original and remastered version the ability to port their character from original to remaster
Can you put my dog in oblivion? He saved my life twice by being a sweetheart
Instead of being a fighting companion like meeko or dogmeat have him give a buff and cure debuffs when you pet him or use a bed bc hes a good boi who whines at me if i dont put a blanket over him and go to bed on time. Whiney groans really
Would post pics but its not permitted on my role
Would absolutely love a way to remove/forget custom spells. While experimenting/ leveling, it quickly becomes too much to search through for your actual spells. A second hot swap wheel would also be amazing.
Here's another suggestion I'd like to see in the Oblivion remaster;
Make a questline where you can help rebuild Kvatch after finishing the main quest.
It can start with a rep from the East Empire Company approaching the player on the matter and asking for help in investing in the reconstruction of Kvatch.
The one and only change i need to decide to buy oblivion on my PS5 is fixing the enemy scaling at later levels. Its all fine until by the level 20's any random bandit is wearing daedric/glass armor and has so much health it takes an age to defeat them, as well as the enmy variety being non-existent since you only fight scaling boss enemies. My suggestion for a fix is to keep boss enemies at the end of a dungeon scaling to the players level, but have other enemies in the dungeon kept lower level - if difficulty wants to be kept, you can crank up the number of enemies. I would recommend doing something similar to this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/706
Its literally all I need, im feeling nostalgic for oblivion with a new coat of paint, but I haven't a powerful enough PC to play this and my immersion will be utterly broken if these supposedly rare materials are found on every random bandit in the wild because the universe revolves around my PC
I’m glad more people are suggesting the return of OG colours, that is an essential change imo 🌲💚
Radiant quests for factions, (Mostly talking DB) so I can feel more immersed than just talking to the night mother once a week. Adds to the role play aspect.
Weird I’m having the opposite problem. I’ve been 1 hitting every enemy since i hit this level range. And am on adept difficulty.
Speech craft mini game needs an xp boost it takes too many to reach lv 100
I personally would recommend adding in a full customizable difficulty system like Starfield has
I wouldn’t mind balance changes to vampire
Or better yet we could change it with:
Official mod support
Add a toggle button to hide UI so we can take better screenshots or play without looking at the HUD - and maybe an extra vibrant color filter option so people who want OG greenery can do it without reshade. 😉
My simple list:
-
Add more convenient shortcut escapes for dungeons (alleviate backtracking).
-
Either make the game pause when using the Favorites Wheel, or allow player to move while making a selection.
-
Settings for level scaling. Witcher 3 has a simple system that could be not too difficult to implement.
-
Fix bugs where you can. I’m still holding my shield when I draw a bow. I can’t turn in my Rumare Scales in Going Fishing. There’s still the Kvatch bug. The weapons I’m holding don’t visually appear on my character on the Inventory screen. Can’t hit A to track quest when playing with a gamepad on PC (have to hit Enter). Etc.
-
Keep an open channel with the community and be communicative regarding patches.
-
Odd visual reflecting effects when holding a weapon and viewing water.
-
Make uphill walk speed change less drastic.
-
Tweak power attacks. Feedback seems delayed.
Thank you!
how about you guys fix the broken pc gamepass update ...thats a suggestion
My two suggestions:
-Mounted combat and/or easier dismounting
-Skyrim-style interruptible conversations taking place in real time. Makes the world feel more alive.
My suggestion would be to simply repair annoying bugs
I recommend a pause/system menu separate from in game menus like in original oblivion etc. I find it annoying that when I hit tab I open to the system menu after tweaking settings when im trying to get to my inventory.
Add a special difficulty so that enemies are as weak as novice but your character is as weak as in master difficulty, it would make the battles way shorter and intense and "soulslike"
maybe a simple noise to indicate when you pick up a new ingredient, or something to specifically identify that it's new
Two of my biggest UX gripes at the moment:
- In the inventory alchemy menu, add an option to sort/group by type. At the moment, potions and ingredients are all mixed up, making it very scrolly and frustrating. Yes, you could also hotkey but that's not an excuse here.
- Map needs to remember its zoom in a much better way. It always defaults to world map instead of local. Whenever you touch something else than the map through tab (default key) when exploring a dungeon, you get reset back to world map and that's frustrating.
- Official mod support on XBOX series 2) Possibility to switch languages spoken
Original colors/saturation
Difficulty in between adept and master
Props to the social media team that has to read/collate/present these suggestions to decision makers. That being said, it would be helpful/appreciated to have an option to default to local map when in a city or dungeon.
Suggestions:
-Have a favorites tab for the spells or being able to forget some (we can't delete them at the moment).
-Have a key to directly access the local zone map instead of having to zoom.
-More hotkeys (currently limited to 8).
-Make the leveled unique items level with the character.
-Rework the world leveling system to have easy zone and harder zone with more fixed levels.
-Have a difficulty between Adept (a bit too easy) and Expert (a bit too hard).
Thanks for taking suggestions!
- Please let the dungeon or town map appear automatically when inside a dungeon or in a town. The need to zoom in every time is infuriating.
- More hotkeys would be great.
- Some more sorting options in inventory please, like type. Or extra categories for potions and books/papers for example.
- I know dungeons reset after a while. But I still would like to know if I cleared it before, so a way to mark that on the map would be very appreciated. Right now I'm writing it down in a list - quite oldschool, but not exactly charming.
I'd like to recommend the following.
- Dual wielding - i know it was never in the og but it should've been! Just make it a four hit combo if you're using a large/small combo and a 6 hit if using two small weapons.
- Increased crowd density in cities - the cities feel so much emptier then I remember and I'd consider this just a modern day environmental update similar to what you did in the open world.
- Make unique items unleveled. Or add a stand where we can place unique items and they'll level up to the player when retrieved.
-Consoles/pc Mod support
-Improve the performance FPS drops
-Classic color option
-Fix the difficulty(add a difficulty between adept and expert or damage slider)
-Horse first person(and bug fix when lookong below name appears) more horse armors
-Add more creatures/NPCs in the world to feel more Alive
-Mirror owned houses to change face hair etc/ add height to characters creator
-Unique items should level up with us
-Dark brothehood iconic door glow red is missing
-Rebuild Kvatch(players would love that)
-After complet dungeon/cave or ruin map icon of cleared/finished☑️
-Improve the running/sprinting animation, give us animation options
Thanks loving the game btw
[Suggestion] Standardized health formula with an emphasis on armor value as opposed to higher endurance, allowing unarmored characters to quickly be dispatched by sharp weapons. Blunt weapons should be more effective against armored targets
- 1 hand to 2 hand toggle
- Dual wielding
- Enchant removal (keep gear)
- Companion inventory management and outfitting
- Survival mechanics
- Model hair under hoods, or add head pieces like circlets that won’t turn characters bald
- More enemies/enemy types
- Improve or create more dungeons with challenging aspects. The Shivering Isles dungeon where you get duskfang should have more to it.
- Bring items and gear introduced in Skyrim back to Cyrodiil
- Expand knights of the nine to have further relic hunting like the npcs speak to eachother about
Things like damage and spell cost should scale with attributes and skills above 100. I know it was like that in the original but it’s something that should be changed. Balancing why’s there’s plenty of stuff that’s already over powered so there’s no reason to leave it like this, and on top of that it’s unintuitive. There isn’t a good reason for it to stop scaling at 100 and it would be significantly more fun if you could start doing a ton of melee damage by using spells or powers to get above 100.
Cosmetic staff customization
they literally patched it an hour before your message lol
- Official mod support would be amazing to have, at least on PC.
- Bring back dual wielding from Skyrim.
- Have an official survival mode like Skyrim does now.
- Adept difficulty is too easy, Expert is too hard..sliders to adjust HP/Damage ratio.
I want them to hit harder, while still being able to do the same. - HUD toggle for better Captures/Screenshots
- Improve/Restore sorting of Alchemy/Misc inventory tab (Sub categories like Potions, ingredients, scrolls etc)
- Keyring ?
- Make Bound armor tied to light or heavy armor skill, not a mix of both SMH.
- Possiblity to modify our Class/Attributes, swapped Major/Minor skills lvl retroactively adjusted.
THIS! It would also solve one of the problems leveling in OG Oblivion - the world spawns vastly out-leveling NPCs that are scripted to interact with the world.
In addition, making the loot level dependent created a paradox where it was more efficient to stick to simple beginner dungeons because the glass/ebony armor you looted off of bandits was a better reward cash-wise than anything short of unique gear.
I almost sure it was mentioned but fix the world and level scaling. This ruins the whole game. It ruined back then and ruins now too.
also, the ux for local maps a little tedious, especially on controller. A button toggle instead of zooming all the way in would be a great improvement. I didn’t even realize there was local maps until I saw someone mention it in a video. Thanks for all the hard work 🙂
I would like to see Werewolves and lycanthropy be added to oblivion. werewolves been in the Elder Scrolls for a while and oblivion even has a shrine of hircine it feels abit odd to have vampires but not werewolfs
Significantly slow or pause game when opening quick wheel to swap between spells/equipment. Or at least make it an option in the settings menu.
Official Modding support please!
Official Native VR support! With with modern vr motion controls and gameplay: ability to pick up and move physics objects around with hands and not with just weapons rendered over your hands like in skyrim vr. When you grab items in VR it should respond to the weight of items (with heavier items more difficult to move around/etc...). Optional VR world-space cursor and auto-aim settings (VR archery and magic can be difficult to aim for some - a world-space cursor and maybe some auto-aim assistance can be good for a more casual VR experience). Some VR-native UI affordances, etc... like a VR native quick-bar similar to Half Life Alyx weapon selector.
A Barber or somesuch npc in the bigger cities to change appearance or hair cut during playthrough without losing all stats by using racemenu
Please add the creepy sound and light effects to the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary door that were in the original!
First of all, I am having a blast, this is phenomenal! Suggestions that I think would be really cool
- Personally outfit soldiers in kvatch and the main battle with your personal equipment (old magic weapons, armor, jewelry) that way I dont just sell them or put them in a chest.
- Be able to remove custom created spells from list.
Official Mod support, A Proper fix for the level scaling issue
- Please let me delete spells
- Please let me favorite items in my inventory to not accidentally sell them
- Please give more categories for inventory tabs
The people who escort you around in areas, such as the Fighters Guild Porter, should not be able to follow you once you are invisible.
I agree! A D-Pad option for combat instead of menus would be sweet!
I wish there were a more simplistic system to put items into containers, there are too many keystrokes as it is.
Haggling is also unnecessarily cumbersome (being required to highlight the merchants inventory to access the button)
The option to change birthsign and class after leaving sewer along with appearance and name
Fix Dark Brotherhood door
Show when a dungeon is cleared
Please add the Russian localization on PlayStation to the game.
Don't know if this was mentioned but would be cool if KOTN follower bugs could be fixed. Geimund won't stop following me because I recruited him late (and he's invulnerable). Would love to not have to delete him in console because this would affect achievements?
I personally like the new colors tho
Id be pretty bummed out if they went to the og stuff, its not my vibe. Maybe an option or graphic preset instead of a forced change for everyone?
Only issue i have with colors is that theres no use for torches/night vision. Id love a darker darkness otherwise yeah
@hollow fablefix guards being able to see you behind locked doors
A desperate QoL update that's for a design oversight in the original game.
Skill level ups granted by NPCs like the Grey Prince are given as static bonuses, and not as XP bonuses like those found in books. Meaning when you're given +3 in e.g. Blunt, you've effectively just lost 3 skill XP gains that go towards your total character level. Please change these so they function the same way as books and grant character XP for level ups.
Please allow option to enable the original 8 way hotkey D - pad, option to put HUD compass at bottom of screen. Also option to disable minor skills from level progression. Basically allow options for both d - pad and minor skills to be like the original and customizable HUD
suggestion. Make holding down F -not pressing once F- on weapon holster auto equip a torch if u have one in your inventory, likewise if a torch is equipped holding down F on UNholstersing unequip the torch.
Loving the remaster and love that it's faithful to the old game, but I'd be totally fine if you fixed some old bugs like when quest items get stuck in inventory, or when a quest unequips things and you can't re-equip them (ring of vipereye comes to mind). Go ahead and get rid of exploits and cheats too.
The combat is so bland it’s just not even fun for gamers who love combat the animations are just so boring and the combat is kinda slow
This game is fantastic, thank you.
- more shortcuts please for quick access to equipment or spells
- sell more than 1 item at a time, without an "are you sure" between each one and the the vendor responding verbally
- respec is always looked at, but unsure of if it fits "remastered" only because I am learning how things are different from Classic "attributes, etc." Which affect how i would have made my class. But its already made
- if you're importing things from new ES, then dual wield
Original filter without needing a reshade mod please, especially good for console players, and nice for pc performance too!
One more:
-Stained glass windows in the chapels seem to accurately affect the color of light through them. It’d be nice if that was true off all stained glass windows, such as in the Mages Guild.
Some of the biggest things I would want for oblivion would be console mods, it would add so much more to the experience and allow console players to have many more hours of fun just like Skyrim. I also would love to see new expansions to the game that would expand the game to other provinces like Morrowind, Elsweyr, Skyrim, or even better a dlc that takes us back to Solstheim for the 3rd time in the series, I really love solstheim with its lore and history, Todd please send us back 🙏. One more thing would be to change some things in the game and add some new things, like subcategories in the item menu to make finding potions and specific items in your inventory conveniently faster, I would also like to see some changes to the luck attribute, it doesn't really seem to be worth increasing especially for the amount of virtues it costs to increase it, I would want it to be more like your luck in general like finding more gold, increasing the chance of skill perk activation, things like that, a couple new things would be a way to make low level unique items stronger and possibly a new tier of equipment past daedric or add medium armor like in Morrowind. So yeah hopefully BGS looks at my ideas and I would be astounded if they add even a couple of the things I wanted, thank you Bethesda and Virtuos for the Oblivion Remastered.
Certainly would want Creation Toolkit to bring back the modding community full force.
turn down the skylighting a bit it's too bright atm, I think this mod goes a little far but I think it's on the right track: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/1129
Please fix difficulty adept is too easy and on expert enemies require 10 mins to kill.
PSVR2 support on console 😋
Bring HDR back please, I can tell it was planned and in the code. It was removed day 1 with the first patch. Fix the crashes in certain areas. My game crashes on ps5 so far when I go to the camp between Kvatch and Skingrad. Also please do something with the difficulty scale. I absolutely love Elder Scrolls games. Never played a bad one. But the difficulty on adept feels way to easy. While expert and above feel brutally impossible. I need a sweet spot of challenge, without feeling like I'm getting owned. I want that power fantasy. Right now, i can pretty much 1 or 2 kill anything in the game. Please also fix the spell creation and enchanting. I sometimes have trouble with it letting me choose certain parameters. Such as fortify skill or attribute. Oh and could you add a little more to the sorting. It be nice to sort by item type or something. So all my soul gems are in one place. It be nice to also charge with more than one soul gem at a time. It's kind of annoying to have to recharge. Scroll down a list again to another one and continue. Until said item is charged. Overall, I just hope the bugs are not game breaking. That vampire cure quest broke the original for me. So I could never beat the game. It permanently made me a vampire. I would not mind slower leveling also. Maybe that could play into difficulty scale. I beat the arena in under a hour or so. Again this is a phenomenal game like every single Elder Scrolls. I just hope the devs actually see this and take into account the issues/ suggestions. If I have anything else. I'll write it here, but so far those are the main things. Thank you so much and please don't let this sit here buggy like the original game.
HDR support for all platforms please!
I know digital is the way the gaming industry is going but Please Bethesda release the oblivion remaster physically and put out an official statement if its getting one. I know i speak for many when i say i want a physical copy of this magical game
How about the ability to rebuild Kvatch?
It would be really awesome if we could become a vampire again after being cured. It seems like the game is set up to allow us to be cured more than once.
One other suggestion, adding a note by each landmark if it has been cleared.
You can if you get attacked by a vampire and contract the vampire disease, right?
My suggestions would be to add a quest or NPC that lets you customize your character's face again and to add a "Cleared" status to dungeons that you've completed before.
Series s needs increased foliage view distance or somthing to hide the bland space
I have a game breaking bug, where all the main cities guards accuse me of stealing and I have a bounty of 1,000. I can't continue with the main quest. I need this patch please.
since some ppl are requesting ridiculous dlc level ideas i guess ill toss this out. add back the arenas that were cut in 2005 due to tech restrictions of the time. they were finished according to dev diaries they literally were only removed due to disc space
Better crosshair/UI mechanics. Not even worth riding your horse when every time you gallop it can be selected.
Inventory management is horrendous, implement Skyrim’s category system
Tweak Expert difficulty, enemies shouldn’t be tanky sponges
Better shortcut system, or add more slots
A Fallout 4 and 76 style loot system
Map toggle from World and Local
Crafting Stations
We really need Mod Support in Oblivion Remastered.
I miss being able to jump/fall in sneak mode without being immediately detected
Please redo NPC movement/directions.
It's really jarring to see such a modern looking game with NPCs that take such weird and jolty directions. I know it's a big ask, but it would really round things off. Maybe it could be a setting (e.g., 'classic NPC movement - on/off'), since some people might view the jolty movements as integral to the game's nature.
I feel like smiths service of repairing weapons and armor should be a bit cheaper maybe?at least for lower level weapons and armor
The main two for me:
• Having it greyed out/ticked when you’ve cleared out a cave or dungeon. Or even custom notes and markers specifically for this, so I know which ones I’ve done or visited.
• If you’re in a localised map space, it being the default map view rather than having to zoom in from the world map.
Would be really nice to have a repair option directly on the item you want to repair that opens the repair screen instead of having to search for the repair hammers first and then opening it.
Suggestion - Usually with Unreal Engine games there is a detected Nvidia Driver update to follow with a game release. maybe contacting Nvidia and seeing about possible driver related issues might be a step in the right direction. this is the first time i seen such a big game release without a detected driver update. to add to this, there are alot of issues with using DLSS 4 on this game. maybe you guys could do some work on that end to see it functioning properly for us people that dropped a massive chunk of cash to use the latest tech.
Capes and cloaks?
Key Chain.
Categories in Inventory.
Shortcut for a local map, not scrolling,
"Enter" button for "yes" when selling items, instead of clicking every time.
Likely a side effect of the Shadow drop, Nvidia driver updates usually come out before an announced game releases, as this wasn't officially announced a driver update would have spoiled the release.
+1 for ability to delete spells
The option to see both my bow and sword at the same time would be very very nice
𝑹𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙙𝗶𝙣𝙜 𝑳𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙 and 𝑮𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙨𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙙Ị
I would love to see a Thrust/Stab attack! 🙂
love that you guys added movesets, and i love the shortsword.
could you maybe add a thrust and/or Stab attack for the Longsword and Greatsword?
maybe like the shortsword hast the W+LMB?
would really add to the immersion
I would love it if inside a location opening the map opens the local map directly like it used to. Can't teleport from inside so the world map isn't very useful
https://youtube.com/watch?v=P7ILWb46SY4&si=Gn0uXD80srZ-eUY0
i would love this as an official feature. The remaster is way too brown
Ayleid reshade is a reshade preset made to experience glorious visuals by reclaiming the colors and light of the original The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Biggest problem i have at the moment is the difficulty difference from Adept to Expert, it doesnt feel balanced at all.
I cant die on Adept and can't kill a simple wolf on Expert difficulty.
Putting sliders but keeping the race heights similar to eso would be cool too
Change Lock picking from oblivion to Skyrim version. I keep depleting all my picks and I can do Skyrim master locks with my eyes closed
Show us our current carry weight and inventory when we’re looting corpses and containers by default
Just think if you sell the game physically you could double even triple the amount of games sold i know just about everyone in this chat would probably buy the game AGAIN just to have this game on their shelf. Give us a physical release of this game!
can we please have level scaling removed and have a more static world wth majority gear coming from dungeins and daedric gear coming from Oblivion gates in high level?
Add the other Dark Brotherhood sanctuaries, ie: Gold Coast from ESO.
If Very much love a PSVR2 port. Thank you!
Add a barber or surgeon to the game
I second this
#1 is fix the difficulty scaling:
- A fixed enemy difficulty solves this. Too hard? Level up and eventually you can beat them
Also prevents nonsense, like the main character in full armor dying to a naked man with a spiked bat!
Could do with armour / better sword displays
I like the game a lot and have a couple suggestions I think could be fun:
-spell duration scaling, I think it’s odd that an archmage and a novice are limited to the 120 second spell duration, I think it would be better if custom spells allowed longer durations or just scaled with weakness to magic like paralyze and silence do
-Arena champions, the arena could save player builds when they defeat the grand champion and added them to pool of random character builds to face at that level, similar to the great jar challenge in Elden ring
-a way to delete or archive custom spells would be helpful as well
Hi, there's a lot of great suggestions in just the last 30 messages, so I just state the one I'm most bothered: Character lighting. Please let me disable it. I don't need a 1kW spotlight illuminate the entire hemisphere of the character I'm talking with like they're a new moon. Takes me out of the game every time. If you really want that face visible make it a less bright, orange glow from the bottom of the screen so it appears like my character lit a candle, instead of a guard helicopter search light searching for criminal scum that committed crimes against Cyrodiil and it's people.
Do you belive that BGS i sgoing to see what we say 20 minutes ago let alone whatever we all said yesterday? I think they shoul dmake this a Forum post thing and not a chat room thing because its like going through one window and out the other. thats how it feels 🤷🏻♂️
Have Porkchop wander around the Bloodworks ||if he survives the arena battle.||
I miss him 😦
Please keep in mind that this channel is for suggestions only. Please report bugs in #1087805579399004210 or submit a ticket.
-change the animation off attact to zombie without their right arm... it looks silly
==Actionable changes that aren't ridiculous asks for DLC level content, features or obvious bugfixes==
Fix brotherhood sanctuary door lore error (night mother's five children with sithis) [IMPORTANT]
Add drop shadow to 'Location Discovered' popup text or use different font to increase contrast and readability (bright white on background looks flat and cheap)
Default keybinds for jump (to space) and interact (to E) and take all (to some other key that isn't enter), otherwise add better keybind options
Add parallax or other shimmering effect to oblivion gate instead of static flat image
Add 'Cleared' tag to dungeon and similar locations like with Skyrim
Discrete Local/World Map buttons
Disable horse nametag while riding
Adjust overall Difficulty Scaling to be less extreme because new players aren't going to use the setting as originally intended (to make the game playable if you made an over/underpowered character)
Restore brotherhood sanctuary entrance ambience to match original (red light, foreboding)
Restore unique container sounds
Restore racial heights
==larger scope changes that I think are important to the quality of the game or faithfulness to the original==
Adjust exterior color grading/lighting etc to be more similar to the original game (too brown and washed out, oblivion was green and ethereal)
Fixed levels or retroactive scaling for quests rewards instead of being level dependent (kills desire to do quests with unique rewards at low levels)
Adjusted sprint animation (too exaggerated when traveling at slower speeds)
Adjust argonian faces (refer the speechcraft minigame portion of the game reveal stream for egregious example of weird looking argonian)
Adjust argonian headfins/spikes (refer to Dar-ma, Dar Jee: they look like Gremlins from the Gremlins movies)
Rework khajiit female faces (just flat out ugly, the fur beards/sideburns are not cute)
First person feature parity as with the original game: first person sitting, horse riding, etc
- More than 8 Shotcuts/Quickslots/Hotkeys (whatever you want to call them) please!
- And/or the option to hide spells in the spell list, like a lot of people have suggested already
- An option to delete unwanted custom spells entirely
- A way to change your character's appearance after creation (barber, face-sculptor)
- I would love to see a column for Value per Weight ratios for items in the inventory, and the ability to sort by it.
-Ability to cast spells while blocking
Would be nice if armor was fitted to the female form when playing as a female character. Also being able to change your hairstyle at least.
A favorites menu like in Skyrim rather than the quick slot wheel.
I would like to suggest adjusting/removing leveled gear. I think making leveled items automatically level up with you or adding a way to manually level them up would be best. Like how you can level up the armor of the Crusader by putting it on the armor stand. However, it would probably be easiest to just make the best version the only version.
Also, double check some of the weapons. They still have Drain Effects with no time limits, aka effectively no Drain Effect.
A reminder that discussion of suggestions should take place in #oblivion-chat, this channel is for the suggestions themselves only.
Please just work on the difficulty settings and performance/bugs. Don't change anything else don't listen to QOL or added content suggestions. You can keep Oblivion as Oblivion. Please just give us difficulty options and performance and fix the annoying NEW bugs.
Overall the remaster is great but I really would love some touch ups that completely recreate the magic of oblivion and maybe the option to toggle to the old voice lines and/or sound effects
multiple radial menus like Grounded did for example would be so nice, specifically when using a lot of situational custom spells. hold L1, press R2 to swap between them. so many spells in this game. it’d be nice to just swap to them quick in game for us console gamers :D
I actually do have one suggestion other than the one I made already, I would love the possibility of an option that allows you to turn off helmet visibility if possible, so if you're wearing a helmet but want to see you're head/face you can toggle it to be visible or not. Idk if this has been mentioned yet but I'd greatly enjoy it.
I agree with others who have mentioned the dark brotherhood door. It’s lost all its aura. I’d also like more options to customise my body. Weird how NPCs say I’m muscular when I’m skinny like a twig.
I do wonder how many of these issues will be addressed by the devs. I understand not all can be resolved, obviously.
Just some text on the spellcrafting interface us what rank a spell is before we craft it
- More eye friendly UI. Pls, my eyes are begging for mercy.
- Npc level caps and player level cap.
- Faster arrows.
- The dark brotherhood door everyone talks about.
- Some armors look very washed and bright, fix them pls
Growing up playing the original oblivion discovering new dungeons was fun I find it fun in the remastered as well.
But with the remastered I was expecting a new mechanic that will show me if I cleared a previous dungeon or just discovered because I all ways get the ones I discovered or cleared confused with the newest dungeons I’ve found.
I propose a new way of tell if you found or cleared dungeons
- On the map if you found new dungeon it have symbol representing new dungeon
- If you cleared a dungeon already itl have a Cleared symbol
Anyways that’s my new suggestion
put French audio voices
We need a dlc that shows bethesdas gonna give a good formula for elder scrolls 6 to do that I’d make the dlc either during Skyrim or in between causing an event that doesn’t effect anything till 6 don’t make it a big plot point make it something smaller but make the dlc big maybe even add a new faction that rises in secret in oblivion and u can join it in 6 this would also open more formulas for plot point and more content in future games but I mean I feel like it fully went down that route we’d end up with a bunch of elder scrolls onlines with current elder scrolls gameplay
The cure vampire quest bug would be my biggest suggestion. It breaks the ability to complete the quest.
I've completed everything and waited months (in game) but I just get told to "please, go away" and that the count "Needs more time". I'm on PS5 so I cant use console commands to fix it.
With vampirism being such a big part of the game it really sucks to have the quest broken.
#1 my list
Matching Sets of Ayleid Elven armor that pair with Crown of Lindai and Nenalata, perhaps from notes found after Umbacano quest finishes that have you explore "hidden added sections" to the ruins accessible only after the note/quest magic key or something. (Armor of Lindai, Armor of Nenalata)
#2 appearance changer npc or object
#3 vampire coven starting add npcs to recruit/turn
#4 enchanted zero weight items you can give to npcs that make them harder to kill by mobs etc or adjustment to very easy that buffs npcs hp at higher difficulties?
#5 Ayleid Ruin Home with necromantic/lich Armor and perma summon undead creatures like frost crag atronachs only you use like black soul gems and bones or scrolls as sacrificial objects.
#6 a form of smithing for tiers of armor if you overleveled etc orcish mithril blah blah etc
#7 perhaps develop a homestead/village
New or existing (goblin war) to develop said place
#8 additional shipwrecks under water
#9 a way to make better multi effect enchantments perhaps some form of unlockable perks through quests like black books from hermaues mora.
#10 maybe werewolves?
#11 palace guard armor maybe you save chancellor in sidequest to earn some other thing
#12 lanterns or magic crystal lamps to carry
#13 seasonal quests inspiration from eso like hollowjack festival aka halloween in
#14 perhaps add in some npc romance nothing fancy just different race/gendered npcs you can have as followers and have stay at any of your homes/lairs lol.
#15 establish your own brewing/crafting/logging/mining business? Earn income? And raw materials for smithing I had mentioned?
I’m still hoping for a physical release so if I had any suggestions right now it would be that
I just want the enemy/item scaling removed. I hated it in 2007 and I still hate it today. Thank you.
1# Make Unique Armor and Weapons Level Up with you as you do! If you get Umbra Armor or Chillrend at level 5 - It should upgrade to the version it would be at your current level instead of becoming obsolete.
#2 Add Console Mod Support
anyone mention floating paintbrushes yet? lol
A few ideas, quality of life mostly.
On skill training screens, put your current skill level on the screen.
Add a hot key to go straight to your area map instead of the world map/hot key to do it on the map screen.
Improved repair/recharge screens, they feel awkward on the PC interface, maybe it's me idk i feel like it's weird.
- Fix the physics of the lantern in the arena
- Add a new difficulty between Adept and Expert
- Add a HUD/UI element to display the in-game time
- Add more shortcut slots beyond just 8
- Some sort of checkmark on the UI or map indicating if a dungeon has previously been cleared/explored
- Make unique armor/weapons scale with leveling (i.e. Knights of the Nine gear, Dark Brotherhood gear, Gray Cowl, Umbra, Debaser, etc)
Hello, the work by Virtuous team has been incredible and I have been loving the remake. Great job guys.
Colour Grading Options - Legacy/Remake
My feedback would be to give the player a toggle between the old vibrant colour palette and more grounded palette of the remake. Many fans, including myself miss the colour grading of the original.
The Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater Remake coming out this year gives the player an option to switch between "Legacy Mode" for a colour palette more closely matching the look of the PS2 game and "Normal", a more realistic colour palette matching modern games.
This sort of feature would be a best of both worlds for fans looking for a more authentic experience to the original versus a style that matches Skyrim/ESO and keep everyone happy.
HDR Support
HDR Support would also be very much appreciated, with the game being so performance heavy as is, RTX HDR is not a viable option for myself and I would love to play the game in HDR
I suggest a physical release of the game or a confirmation if the game is getting one. An official statement if you will
My main suggestions are
-
Can we re add melee weapons affecting dead bodies and animals. Spells already do it and melee weapons do affect unconscious npcs.
-
Can we get ON CONSOLE, a separate binding for the grab button, similar to the original? It would make decorating a house much easier. In skyrim decorating houses was pointless because sometimes the area would reset the items or something and things would phase through the floor. This remaster doesn't seem to have that issue but for future games please let us decorate our homes without worry of items being launched or thrown into the abyss.
-
The easiest way to implement better controls for a local map would be double tapping the zoom in button. For now if you hold the zoom in button as the map is on it's way to popping up you will be zooming in, so that's a work around but temporary i'm sure.
-
Some have suggested a "cleared" note on dungeons. I agree but once the cave refreshes can it also have a note so we know which ones we can re explore without going back in for no reason?
-
Can we eventually have all of the female armor designs worked back into the game? Not a major thing but it's odd that they were omitted.
-
In the dark brotherhood quest about the traitor, and the door to the sanctuary, some of the spookiness is not present. The door no longer glows, and the traitor's diary is no longer spooky and written in blood or creepy looking. It took away from the intensity of the quest.
-
I believe the vendor money not going down should stay the same since the economy isn't the most important late game. I just got to level 31 and have broken 100k septims from exploring and selling things. Having to go door to door investing and selling would be very cumbersome.
-
Can we have oblivion gates show up indefinitely post game via a new quest or area that lets us explore them when we want? Locking us out of the gate experience post main story kinda sucks.
-When you read the elder scrolls your character should be permamently blind
This is gonna be one of the odder and more useless requests but:
Be able to store gold in chests, for rp
This is exactly the problem. Discord is just a huge black hole that useful information gets lost in. I hate it so much 😦
increase the infamy requirement to get the line “I used to think you were a holy knight” after the Knights of the nine, now everybody says that and all i have is 1 infamy
You could also add a way to reduce your infamy without having to do all the pilgrimages again maybe just go to a church.
Let's make Two Handed a bit faster please 😅
The Cheydinhal entrance to the dark brotherhood is one of the most iconic places in Oblivion, as well as the most creepy of any Bethesda game to date.
The descent into the building to the dark entrance, illuminated only by the gloomy red light of the creepy door.
The sound sends shivers down your spine and makes you think you're about to enter a world of horror and suffering
in the remaster, on the contrary, it is just a door with the drawing, no darkness, no glow, no sound. and the drawing adds 2 children.
please change it back to the original!!!!!
My primary suggestion that I have is that I would like a small questline that is dedicated towards the Ayleid ruins. Like an archaeologist quest giver for it that maybe even gives you an enchanted set of armor at the end of it or a weapon or two. Or even have them turn into a person you can send to any of the factions you work for and they get unique items based on those factions.
Also it would be nice to have a "business" in Cyrodiil. A place that you can have someone hired to work it and you can dump off equipment to sell there. Could have a small questline there too.
Leveling is way too fast in the remaster due to the major/minor skill changes. If not an outright overhaul, an option for classic leveling balance would be great
Difficulty balance please. This is #1 for me. Something seems like it's not working properly when I change to Expert because the difference in enemy HP/damage is so drastic.
Please keep the difficulty settings the same but allow us to fine tune them with a slider
Survival
Creation toolkit with mods for consoles will help to attend most of the people request
Honestly kind of disappointed, it’s literally old oblivion but with new graphics. I was expecting at least some new quests, locations, armor, or music at least
what i wrote just 10 minutes ago is so burried under other stuff its literally not even worth posting anything here because they arent gonna see it. They are working right now. The amount of people it will have to go throuhg up the chain of command to get approved to even be looked at is just fantasy IMO.
