Hello! I’d like to post a few this here:

  1. There should be a scaling walk to jog speed like in the original Oblivion. Currently, we either walk slower than NPC walk speed or rocket around everywhere. (This is my most desired feature)

  2. Local Area maps like in original Oblivion and Skyrim.

  3. The player’s inventory should always just be open when searching containers.

  4. Fixing the bug that applies spell effect animation to the player and NPCs.

  5. Possible DLC that allows for Kvatch to be rebuilt with working arena that lets you fight infinite times.

1.5k hours in Onlivion over the years, I put a lot of thought into this AND read the reddit comments to make this list.

  1. Customize appearance after the sewers, we all have saved at the exit cause the lighting changes, we see our characters in different light or different ways.

  2. Let us delete spells.

  3. Add physics back to the lamp in the arena, we need our victory bonk.

  4. Put porkchop the pig back in the prep area if he survives the champion battle.

  5. Add a quest Whispered Warning where we can spare loyal sithis members in the purification.

  6. Way more hair and beard styles, all khajit have a beard without choice currently.

  7. Why can I only put 1 point of luck in per level up. If you don't realise this early you end up stuck later.

  8. Leave dupe glitches and quirks of that sort in the game please.

  9. Currently, we are better off hitting 25, then doing quest so rewards are useful later. Early quest rewards end up in a draw never touched.

  10. Spells level up per cast not, how much magicka is used.

  11. Above all else, don't change the faithful aspects of the game. Or make changes options.

  12. Let us summon the ghost of Lucien Lachancr as a dark brotherhood end reward so we can have Wes as a companion.

  13. Let us get access to all clothing and armour somehow, emperors robes, Amulet Of Kings replica, unique armors etc.

  14. Vampirism could do with a tweak, the sun damage and hate you get make it not really worth it.

  15. Old difficulty slider.

  16. Give us the option to have the old enemy health bars and names appear when you look at someone, and the old health maticka fatigue HUD please the new one is so bulky.

  17. Upon opening map, it should defaultly NOT show the extra stuff.

  18. In certain weather's our characters hair looks WAY different.

  19. Kvatch Rebuilt

THANKS FOR READING (IF YOU DID) AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS MASTERPIECE 😊 ❤️

I would love: 1. remove the names of locations on the compass if you have not been there! 2. option to remove the distance (the footstep icon is goofy looking), 3. an option to display visually if you have been to locations ore not, 4. a way to sort potions in your inventory so I don't have to scroll past all of my collected ingredients, 5. in potion making, it would be amazing in the filter section to highlight the potions you have ingredients for! 6. More creatures and people added to the world, especially cities so they don't feel so empty. 7. Adjusting NPCs awareness, or making the AI a little smarter? Someone should not be able to be killed ten feet away from another person and have them not notice, or if they come across a dead body have them notice that. The AI i just a little too dumb that it stands out from how modern the visuals look. 8. Fix the difficulty scaling, the jump from adept to expert is a little crazy. 9. A KEY RING - we don't need to have a hundred different random keys in our inventory taking up visual space, just make a key ring and if you pick up a key it goes on the key ring. Done. End note: this has been an amazing remaster, great work all around to the whole team. I have loved my time in the game, and I can't freakin' wait to jump back in.

  1. Absolutely not. Oblivion difficulty was jank, but the way its bad now is remaster original. Give us the old system or an improvement, not something actively worse. Also more difficulty settings cannot hurt you if you like the ones that exist, just keep using those.

People seem to be ignoring "boring" suggestions, but I think this one is important especially for my brothers and sisters with non-standard refresh rate monitors (100, 144, 165, etc.)

Let us cap the FPS at factors of our refresh rates instead of the arbitrary 30, 60, 120 options. My monitor is 180hz and I'd love a 90fps cap option.

Adjusting the difficulty is the biggest need right now. Adept is way too easy, but the next level is way too difficult in an unfun way. Enemies are just bullet sponges that take way too long to kill.

Also, a clear symbol on dungeons we have completed would be great

steep rapids
#

Please make adjustments to the game difficulty options. The difficulty options in the original Oblivion were more preferable. The current Adept Difficulty feels too easy (enemies take to much damage), while the Expert difficulty feels too difficult (enemies take too long to kill compared to the player damage output). A difficulty balanced somewhere in between would make the game more fun and engaging.

1) Please give us the option to remove the mouth flaps, face wrinkles and creases from Redguards.
No matter what you do, all Redguards look old.

As a black gamer and someone who loved the original Oblivion back in 2008, I found the character creator **extremely **disappointing. I've watched YouTubers play and spoke to redditors about this, and the general consensus is that the customization is seriously lacking when it comes to creating a black character.
Please update this Bethesda, it's honestly saddening.

2) More hairstyles such as a small afro and different variations of dreadlocks/braids. It's 2025 and you're still doing the bare minimum.

Please look at Street Fighter 6 and NBA 2K for inspiration on how to do a character creation system. There's no reason that a fighting game (Street Fighter 6) should have better customization than games that specialize in that area.

3) Arachnophobia Mode.
Give us the ability to change the appearance of certain enemies. This was done in Hogwarts Legacy and other games.

4) Make the color grading more vibrant like the original game.
A big part of why the OG is so loved and remembered, is because of how the coloring made us truly feel like we were in a fantasy world.

5) Update the sword combat so it doesn't feel so lifeless.

Small DLC that adds Border Guards, watch houses and forts on both sides of the borders. When visiting we get little quests that depend on what side of the border you are on, like;

Elsweyr: Catch or assist the moon sugar smuggler.
Skyrim: Catch or assist the horse theif. (When you find him he has an arrow to the knee🤣)
Hammerfell: Find out what the Alik'r Warrior is up to or help.
Black Marsh: Catch or assist the darkbrotherhood assassin.

And new dialog where the Guards on the other side of the border talk about their homeland. Quest rewards could be items from the other side of the border or something from the imperial border patrol.

I find this an unlikely addition but I will make a suggestion nonetheless:

It felt to me like a lost opportunity that we don't get to join the Imperial Legion in the heart of the Empire itself. If this were to be added, it would probably be a pretty large DLC so maybe less likely? But still it would be cool I think.

A way to go back into oblivion gates to get sigil stones in the post campaign or maybe just leave all non closed gates up until you close them (it was the main reason I didn’t ever finish the final story mission back in the day bc I didn’t want to miss any items in the other gates)

A way to get the mace of doom formally or revisit the dev test cell again.

I would love for the devs to go in and add a slew of new unique and fun weapons and armor for the end game (new to the game). Maybe after finishing the campaign.

If we are talking pie in the sky I’d love new guild and side missions as paid dlc! Anything to keep me playing!

It would be fun to give the vampires an end game overhaul where you can transform like in Skyrim. I always thought vampires in oblivion were more a negative than something fun to play as.

If you make more dlc I will buy! Having some large map expansions in the post game would be amazing! Dream come true!

After development and support for the game is done I’d love a physical edition with the full game and all updates included on the disc so I can always revisit this masterpiece.

I've always been a fan of the idea of rebuilding Kvatch and becoming its count. The old nobility questline concept taken out of the original game.

I haven't gotten to that city yet, so maybe there are plans for something to happen there. But it always felt like wasted real estate in the old game. Could use some post-destruction content of some kind.

Just want official mod support like the original and the rest of the best Bethesda games. The modders fix most of the issues and provide new content that makes these games so close to infinitely replayable. They’re already doing their best to keep doing that with this one but official tools would help.

There's currently not much incentive to use an inn when there's free bedrolls scattered about. I propose that the player gets a "smelly" debuff if they do not stay in an inn or somewhere with a bathroom. Hey team, love the remaster I think it’s gorgeous but in its current state, it’s unplayable for me. Please add an option to DISABLE THE HUD, the white dot, and the compass. It’s such a beautiful game and being able to remove the whole HUD would make it so much more immersive and fun. Myself and plenty of other gamers get motion sickness from the dot in the center of the screen and I can’t play because of it. I played Oblivion growing up when it first came out so I know the whole world by heart and don’t really think I need a compass or any location markers. I play almost all of my other games without HUDs. Not to mention almost all modern Bethesda titles have an option to disable the HUD. Playing without a HUD on PS5 would be amazing. Thanks

  1. Improve Map Toggle:
Allow easier switching between world and local maps, ideally with a single button press. ( Right now you always have to zoom in )

  2. Remember Last Map View:
When reopening the map, keep the last selected view (world or local) instead of resetting when switching tabs.

  3. Adjust Item Details Scrolling (Console - PS5):
When viewing item details with R3, improve stick sensitivity to prevent accidental switching to model view while trying to scroll vertically through perk descriptions.

  4. Horse Name Display:
While riding, avoid showing the horse’s name when simply looking around. The horse’s name should only appear when directly looking at the horse while not mounted. Right now it shows up while mounted.
Also when horse riding with controller turning left and right feels a bit too sensitive.

It would be nice if completed caves/ dungeons would be marked as such on the map

#

I’d like the inventory tab menu to be prioritized after opening and closing the pause button I don’t really want the save/ settings menus to be remembered and be pulled back up the next time I want to change weapons. It breaks my flow a bit and is frustrating.

The ability to bring lower leveled weapons up to more powerful levels (in case you pick up a unique weapon early on and didn’t know)

I would like my current camera perspective choice to be remembered across saves/ reloads ex I die in first person perspective but the reload seems to remember third person. It would be nice to reload after death in first person.

How about a mission to rebuild kavatch in post campaign so it’s not a smoldering husk taking up valuable map space the whole time.

This is really specific, but on controller (I’m on PC) the scrolls speed in menus has 2 issues:

  1. it takes too long to get to max speed
  2. it needs to move faster at max speed

I think this could also be alleviated by adding sub categories (I’ve seen screenshots with like a books split, potion split, etc. inline with your items, not as a separate tab)

Also, something Zelda BOTW does is use the right stick to skip to the next page. I think it could be super useful for scrolling to the next page of items

There is only one suggestion that needs to be made, because it helps absolutely everyone by enabling the modding community, and work you put in with that will be mutlplied a thousand fold or more:

an updated creation kit that is able to access both gamebryo and unreal engine properties and assets and generate the necessary links (say for where we add items)

a developer built project file for ue5 in oblivion remastered (including documentation of properties and interfaces we can and should use)

blueprint access plus docs for easier UE access for those with less demanding needs

Critical Luck upgrade:

  • luck adds crit chance
      • Mastery = %dmg (natural luck = mastery)
        - 25 = 25% crit dmg
        - 50 = 50% crit dmg
        - 75 = 75% crit dmg
        - 100 = 100% crit dmg
      • Critical Chance % = Luck ÷ 3
        - Hard cap Luck @ 255
        - means @ luck cap, crit chance = 85% (255 ÷ 3)
        - will never have 100% chance to crit
        - @ 50 Luck = 16% crit chance (+50% dmg)

    • gives reason to invest in luck after maxing other skills
      • works for all "Attacks" (melee, marksman, Destruction)
      • not applicable to Poisons nor other spells
      • (maybe increase magnitude/duration for other spells?)
      • would add randomness to combat outcomes
      • will require HEAVY investment in Luck for % crit chance
      • which will increase player level, and thus enemy difficulty
      • meaning, players will need to sacrifice other attributes & enchantments (adds more refinement to character build)
      • will make those critical hits OH so satisfying
      • should be pretty well balanced given the attack speed
      • notification similar to sneak attack multiplier
      • EX: 50% critical hit = "Critical Hit for 1.5×"
      • should stack with sneak attacks and power attacks

I'd love for Mod Support to be implemented in the future. Especially for Consoles....like we finally have cloth physics in a 'Base Elder Scrolls' title!! And all that is missing in my eyes is the potential that modding provides. (new gameplay systems, new armor sets, reshade/weather, more spells & additions to spell crafting, you name it!) its all there as long as modding can be done.
-So developing mod support if at all possible would be a major change i'd like to see 🙂

Two big things I want to see are 1 there a whole bunch of outfits throughout Oblivion the player cannot attain for some reason I'd like those outfits to be made available to the player.

2 the ability to delete spells you have crafted

Last post I made was about difficulty but I'd also recommend these.

  1. Please fix the spellcrafting and enchanting menus. I have to exit/reload so many times to get them to work properly and the enchanting alter I often have to spam buttons on PS5 for it to work.
  2. Make items level up with the player. In an RPG like Oblivion it isn't satisfying to have to hold off on say Chillrend knowing it won't have the best version until Level 25+. There is a mod that addresses this although I'm on PS5.
  3. Have an option for players to enable the more vibrant color palette of the original. I LOVE the new graphics however I do miss the very bright and colorful look of Oblivion and I've already seen that PC has a mod for this. I think it would be brilliant to add in an option for players to toggle that on.

My suggestions to improve QoL:

  1. Hovering over container - like Fallout 4 & Starfield - to show what's inside it.
  2. Ability to see a local map for interiors.
  3. Enable / disable HUD - I would love to see an immersive HUD like Horizon Zero Dawn where it disappears if you are not in combat

I love the remaster, but I'm sorry, the arena FPS is beyond unacceptable. This is with fsr set to anti-aliasing mode, with framegen on, and it still can't hit 60 during the day on a 16GB RX 7800 XT. I have everything on med-high presets. I can hit 60+ outdoors, 120+ in interiors, it's specifically the arena that runs terribly and whenever I alt+tab in the arena, the game crashes my whole PC and forces a reboot. Hell, taking this screenshot crashed it too! Really disappointing. I even turned off lumen software RT in the config to get some kind of boost, but nothing. https://prnt.sc/fkKd3dabYBzq

Also, the announcer (and all the daedric shrines) cut out their audio mid-speech.

18 hits with a max juice, +40 dmg enchanted sword is a cool, decisive boss weapon, but adding a 3 damage enchant runs out in a few hundred hits. On expert mode this is good for a dungeon or two, or about 0.5-1 oblivion gates 😦 . The way it feels on expert is overly prepping for something that doesnt take as much skill as it does time and as a knight character with a magic weapon the fantasy of filling multiple gems to fight one or part of one of the several oblivion gates doesnt feel worth the hassle of refilling depleted enchanted weapons.

PLEASE fix the insane jump between Adept and Expert

It’s not that it’s too hard, it’s just tedious sitting there wacking an enemy over and over for 5 minutes.

There needs to be an in between.

We need to have the damage we deal still be high, while having the damage we receive be high as well.

Being a sponge for damage is not fun on adept, and reversing the roles where the enemy is the sponge is not fun on expert.

For someone like me who micromanages their playing and tries to min-max, it would be really nice if increasing your Endurance retroactively increased your health points for previous levels. (Instead of having to make maxing out your Endurance early game the priority if you want high hitpoints.)

Sneak is kinda buggy, at least on the PS5 version. Enemies search for 30 seconds (fine), then when they are supposed to give up their search, they sprint towards you and have to touch you before the sneak eye closes unless there is no pathway to reach you. Also enemies are clairvoyant and know when you become visible again whether you are hidden or not. Console mod support and creation club would make the longevity of this game shoot way up. People still play skyrim all the time, and a large part of that is the fact that Bethesda games are known for their mod support, on both on console and PC. Three suggestions:

  • Give more quick menu hotkeys (maybe a second wheel which uses a modifier key like alt+hotkey)
  • Give Hand-to-Hand some love since it was already on the weaker end and then indirectly nerfed in two separate ways by the fatigue changes:
    • Fatigue no longer being as closely tied to weapon damage
    • Fatigue regenerating much faster
  • Consider giving the acrobatics dodge a small (like only a couple) amount of i frames and also let acrobatics dodge give acrobatics experience.

Thank you for the work you’re doing!

Requests for Improvements

  • Option to disable outer screen darkening when sneaking.
  • Slider or option for controlling whether users want warmer or cooler visuals. This should be easier to implement and allow users to choose remastered or more OG colors.
  • Option to open Local Map without having to zoom the World Map all the way in.

  • Option to disable bouncing when collecting ingredients or at least rework it. I personally find it immersion breaking.
  • Option to disable line effect on equipment that’s present in the world. A very subtle brightening of the item material would also do.
  • Option to disable cloud shadows. The game is already dark enough and the cloud shadows make it feel too dark.
  • The wetness shading when it rains looks great, but it’s inconsistent with surfaces. Sometimes it’s too intense and others I can hardly tell it’s present. Rocks are especially overly specular.
  • The bell for each hour in town is nice. However, it’s about 2 to 3 times louder than everything else.
  • Option to disable map HUD. It’d be nice for those who want a more OG experience.
  • It’s really hard to control your character at higher speed levels. I liked how it was in the original Oblivion where you could move incrementally.
  • Hit animations are nice, but they seem overly excessive. Half the intensity would feel a bit more realistic in my opinion.
  • Allow the player’s current carrying weight when looting.
  • Cleared indicator on locations that have been cleared.
  • Pressing the Xbox button opens the menu making it impossible to take screenshots on Xbox. It’d be nice to have a screenshot option for this beautiful game on Xbox.
  • Disable camera movement doesn’t disable movement with weapon attacks. It’d be nice if this was an additional option or was included with the disable camera movement setting.

The volumetric/atmospheric effect should be separated from the shadow quality. Most of the lack of color appears to me that there is a lot of haziness obscuring things even 10 feet away. Inside a castle the bricks look more pale and grey rather than their distinctive dark stone color. It looks like someone cooking a bunch of steaks and smoke putting a haze in the air on max settings. I turn the shadow quality down to help get rid of this effect. I also prefer the far distant terrain to be more clear than what they are now.

I have an OLED just to clarify it's not my panel adding grey backlighting and my brightness is not cranked up and brightening the blacks

Absolutely essential UI changes:

  • Collapsible Sub-categories in menus. The amount of alchemy ingredients you must sift through to find one of the apparatuses can be immense, keys can pile up if you don't offload them, and it's annoying to not have all the soul gems together

  • Multiple hotbar wheels. 8 items on the hotbar is not enough. That easily gets filled up just with applicable offensive stuff like destruction spells, weapons, and poisons. Not to mention you may want to use potions, etc. Illusion by itself can take up all 8 slots with the useful stuff it has

  • The ability to hide or delete spells. I will never use the 5 damage flame spell after level 5, I really don't need to scroll past it forever more and confuse its name with the more powerful versions

  • Show carry weight quickly. Show the current encumbrance on the first looting screen; there's plenty of space on the bottom and it shouldn't require going into the detailed mode every single time. Better yet, if something will encumber you if you pick it up, maybe highlight it in red or something. Some weapons and armor are HEFTY in this game and getting encumbered happens often

Runic enchantments.
Hear me out. Why not make a DLC that introduces new types of weapons. All the same weapon types however the enchantments draw from the users mana.
This would mean each strike would be like casting a spell. And the weapons that use this type of enchantment could have ruins carved into them.

This is just an idea I thought of while playing Skyrim and wish it would be in any elder scrolls game.

Please add the hourglass on the prisoner's table mod that allows you to skip the introductory dungeon, so that creating a new character isn't as painful. Ie there is a mod for the first game that places an hourlgass inside the prison cell, it allows you to create your character without having to deal with uriel septim getting murdered and having to fight through the initial dungeon. Only allow it to appear if the player has finished the dungeon once so as to not force people who are playing multiple characters to have to repeat the first portion of the game. Having to repeat the tutorial for every new class I want to play is painful. If you make it work after the first time the entire dungeon is defeated at least 1x it will prevent new players from not having an idea of what is going on, teleporting them to the dungeon exit makes having mutliple playthroughs less of a chore.

The alchemy menu, y'all. Seriously. Have the apparatuses separated out from the ingredients, and always at the top to make them easy to find when you want to start making potions. Have the potions and ingredients separated from one another to make selling easier. The SkyUI alchemy interface in Skyrim was pretty good. It had a long list of all your discovered potion effects on the left, and they'd be grayed out if you didn't have the ingredients to make it, or not if you did. You'd click what you wanted to make, and it'd automatically filter to just the ingredients that had that effect. The current system is similar but clunkier, requiring multiple clicks to open and close the filter menu, deselect ingredients, etc.

A greater variety of difficulty options, akin to Starfield's settings. IE: Player damage, enemy damage, maybe health recover (off/on/improved), survival options (food/sleep), carry capacity (lower, normal, higher), vendor gold (less, same, more).

The big thing would just be letting us tune player damage dealt and recieved onto seperate sliders rather than five locked settings.

It'd be neat to add things like loot quality (worse/normal/better), and enemy spawn tables (higher level spawns/vanilla+higher level spawns/ vanilla / vanilla+lower level spawns /lower level spawns), but that's a bit more involved.

Yo. It's wild to me that so much labour of love was poured into this remaster, and I get they want to keep stuff original so the 'feel' of Oblivion is there, so not many original game updates, but it's wild to me that you guys didn't take this opportunity to fix the numerous soft-lock bugs that occur in quests, for example when you get an item before you are "supposed" to get it - such as the Hunt quest to find Aleron Loche. If you kill the orc, then immediately loot his body and take the key, you are locked out of completing the quest - the journal stays locked at suggesting to loot his body - even if you get off the island. The only fix is to reload save, or use console commands (PC Only) and lock yourself out of achievements.

It's crazy that you guys spent years on this and nobody thought maybe they should implement the fixes present in the unofficial Oblivion patch from decades ago that fixes most of these bugs.

Also, need PC optimisation urgently 🙂

Bugs

  • On Xbox, controls becomes unresponsive after left clicking joystick in character creation while on the first tab.
  • Locked chests play a lock pick breaking sound when initially attempting to open it.
  • Local Map returns to World after switching tabs.
  • When aiming your bow and the camera dips below the surface, the pivot point of the arrow will rotate wildly out of control.
  • Bubbles get stuck on when you leave the water. I think I crouched near the water when this happened.
  • Shadow are casted from weapons when in first person view.
  • Weird overlapping mesh or artifacts at Hammer and Tongs to the right when you walk in.
  • Shop Signs’ physics stop simulating before being fully vertical (like their min velocity for stopping their simulation is too low).
  • During the loading screen, the player’s current level is sometimes incorrectly displayed.
  • Auroras are visible over the clouds during storms.
  • The tooltip pops up when you are riding and looking at your horse.
  • It can rain in Bruma. Not sure if this is intentional, but I don’t remember this ever being a thing. I had come from a lower point where it had been raining.
  • NPC Two handed and sword and shield blocking idle glitch. It’s like animations don’t loop properly. I observed this with the two fighting blade NPCs at the Cloud Ruler Temple. I’m not sure if it applies to other NPCs.
  • Floating mesh outside of the East Gate of Cheydinhal near the edge of the path.
  • Equipped weapons do not display on the character in the menu.

Adjust the enemy and loot scaling. Remove the world scaling with the character and let us adventure with the risk of encountering something we need to get back at a later time to defeat. Make Dwemer and Elven gear rare and glass/mithril/ebony/daedric super rare. Make so only few vendors have rare gear, and make it very expensive. Allow to improve basic gear to bring it up to usable levels in the late game, let us rock iron/steel weapons and armour longer.

A small suggestion, but it'd be interesting to see books from previous games as well as from Skyrim and Elder Scrolls Online to appear in the game. Would help make the franchise feel more connected and provide some nice little moments for lore nerds seeing the Book of the Dragonborn or Once in the Imperial City. Would also be rather easy to do, I think. I don't want you guys to break your back doing this stuff.

The statues in the Imperial City should have name tags as well, since in-game you don't really have any indication who they're supposed to be despite them all being important characters in lore.

Mannimarco should feel like a boss fight, especially since by Oblivion he's an actual god. Give him more higher level spells or unique abilities.

Constellation Stones, Hestra Stones, Reman Stones, and Alessia Stones should have map markers.

Add a weapon leveling system where we can take a weapon and increase it's tier to make it more compatible for the end-game. Artifacts should also have a tier system if that's possible, I'm not sure if it is. I know the Crusader Relics can be upgraded the higher level you are.

More references to past and future games. New NPCs will probably never happen, but I'd be interesting nonetheless if you did it for fun.

Ok here’s an idea I had back in 2006:
A PvP mode built into the arena. To get in you pay/wager gold. You also need an account that hasn’t used console commands (achievements enabled). You go in and it will matchmake you with someone at your character level (or a range)and puts you up against them one on one in the arena. The winner takes home the entry fee of the loser. Could be a fun way to experience other players builds. A prototype multiplayer for future games. You can balance it with only items equitable in the hot swap wheel menu or even limit number of potions you can drink.

Rewards are gold, maybe a new arena rank stat or something and some additional ambient dialogues in the open world if you win or get high enough. But mainly just for good old fun 🙂

FEEDBACK PART 1

I have no idea if this will be seen, as I'm sure there's thousands of posts in the past, and thousands more to come. If someone does see this, though, I want to sincerely thank you, and the rest of the devs, for all the love, care, and attention to detail you've put into the Remaster so far. I adore almost everything I've seen, but I do have some suggestions:
1. Please allow us to toggle the visibility of the HUD bars. I would prefer Health/Magicka/Stamina to always be visible on the screen, instead of appearing and disappearing regularly
2. A HUD opacity slider. The ability to make the HUD transparent is great for both photos and immersive gameplay, and I enjoyed this in Skyrim
3. The appearing/disappearing distance counter under the compass is really annoying, as it keeps flashing on and off the screen as you look around. Please remove this HUD element, or ensure it's always visible, or provide us the option to disable it
4. The ability to rearrange the positions, and change the sizes, of all the HUD elements would be lovely. The DarNified UI and NorthernUI mods of the classic Oblivion allowed this
5. A dark mode for the inventory, container, journal, and map pages would be greatly appreciated. When your eyes adjust to the dark ambience of a dungeon, or the exterior world at night, it hurts to sudden go to a bright screen. This was especially bad when I was quickly rifling through containers in the Imperial City streets. The bright loot pages kept flashing before me, and it really hurt my eyes

Would like to see the option to equip spells like weapons, something which I think it was well done with Skyrim.

I have high suspicion that this one was the one to cause the thumbs down rolling. But I still wanted to include it, since I usually play mages and sorcerers. I rarely use weapons if my mana and regeneration can keep up with the castings. I do get the appeal behind wielding and using weapons first but some of us just prefer a lot more to play actual mage without the limitations of enchantments and with the limitation of our mana and mana regeneration where all my points go and gear is concentrated.

Hello! Some suggestions for the oblivion remake (love it btw)

  1. a fix to the game rendering in for a few seconds after it loads in. It always looks like daytime before the game and lighting all loads in, and I wouldn’t mind an extra few seconds on the load screen so it would be fully rendered upon entering
  2. better organization in pockets, specifically alchemy. I miss how in OG oblivion you had your equipment at the top, followed by potions, then ingredients
  3. when opening a drawer in a player home you can only see what’s inside it, I figured out how to put stuff in but it takes a few buttons and not very efficient
  4. a button on the map page to pull up the local map

Thank you!

Ngl I really like how the remaster has been faithful to the original release, I wouldn’t want crazy changes but I think a few good additions could be:

More unique appearance for unique equipment: So many unique items lack unique appearances and could benefit from a new look.

More unarmored gloves options: the only unarmored gloves in the game are the cuffs you start with, having more options would be nice since having that extra enchantment slot on gloves for unarmored builds would is always nice.

Face sculptor: this has probably been mentioned but it would be so nice especially with the new character models.

  1. I'd like some more quests in the Lake Arrius Caverns, allowing the player to "larp" as a ||Mythic Dawn member|| enough that they can steal the ||Mysterium Xarxes|| and sneak out without turning the entire cavern hostile. You could also give a task to follow Harrow into the storage room to optionally kill him, or simply to find out where he places ||your items|| so that you can take them back.

  2. I'd like the option for cone-AoE spray spells, like the ones that are available in Skyrim. At the moment we only have single-target touch, single-target ranged, and exploding ranged spells.

  3. Maintained/Channeled spells. Currently spells are single-shot, I'd like to be able to continually cast the spell by holding down the cast button. Non-channeled spells would just have their cast delayed if the cast button is held down.

  4. Casting on horseback. You would probably have to make spells ignore the collision of the horse.

  5. Allow us to give Teekeeus a stolen-back Fingers of the Mountain without telling him we gave it to Earana first.

I heard there was a suggestion channel on the discord! I have only a few small things that would make me pretty happy if they were considered

• Some way to customize your character after the sewers. A spell, a face sculptor NPC, an item or potion.etc (Hell I'd voice the NPC for free)

• Being able to remove the Khajiit "beard", so we can make shorter-haired Khajiit

• A seperate FOV slider for the viewmodels in first person, not a fan of how they tend to look at higher FOVs

• Bring back the sub categories for items!

• Clawing unarmed animations for Khajiit and Argonian's perhaps? It would be a subjective addition though, I understand that

Even if it might look a bit wonky, for immersion's sake, I need a "Show character shadow in firstperson" toggle. The lighting is beatiful so it makes me sad to not see myself dramatically casting into another room with lightsources behind me in first person. Give it a warning that it wasn't intended in first person if you need to, but it would be a really nice setting to have regardless. If nothing else, I NEED this one the most

Third-Person animations can be improved a lot. Starting with that weird run and the weird feeling that you slide across the map as you run definitely needs looking into.

Some of the movements in third-person should be smoothed out as well. Most of them feel woodish.

FEEDBACK PART 2

6. Please segregate item types in the different pages of the inventory. This is particularly bad on the Alchemy page, as potions, poisons, apparatuses, and ingredients are currently all bundled together in the same list. The original Oblivion had these in separate lists
7. The names of places keep appearing in the middle of the HUD in big text. Skyrim only did this once for each place when you first discovered it, and I didn't mind that, but here the place names keep appearing over and over again when you're walking around their locations. It's very annoying. For example, I was in the Imperial City Prison district, and I kept getting reminded that I was, indeed, in the Imperial City Prison district
8. I appreciate strict faithfulness to the original game, but I think some liberties can be taken with item weight and value. Repair Hammers are as necessary to the game as lockpicks and torches, which are thankfully both weightless. A well-prepared adventurer needs to carry dozens of Repair Hammers before going into a dungeon, and as things stand, this devours your encumbrance before you can even start to loot things. Similarly, a well-prepared archer needs hundreds of arrows, and their weight stacks up. Skyrim made its arrows weightless. Please make arrows and Repair Hammers weightless here too.
9. This is a minor quibble, but on the subject of Repair Hammers, I would suggest renaming them to Repair Kits. It takes more than a hammer to repair equipment, after all
10. I touched upon item value in #8, and I'll get into that properly here. Classic Oblivion's silver clutter is laughably worthless, and mods were made to correct this, as well as the prices of other items that should have been expensive.

  1. Idk if difficulty needs to be a slider again (arguably not user friendly) but it definitely needs to be rebalanced. Adept/expert is a choice between being a damage sponge or all enemies being damage sponges; neither is fun.

  2. I really want to use horses. I want to play the game without fast travel. The cumbersome nature of having to mount/unmount whenever I get attacked on the roads (which is always) makes it less fun. I get that implementing horse combat is perhaps too big a change, but maybe there's something to be done to make mounting/unmounting easier/faster/more fluid.

  3. Survival mode that requires food, water, sleep, camping.

I would love to have an option to toggle a few settings with the UI. Having the ability to make the UI always visible as opposed to context sensitive, and having a "Classic UI" mode that resembles the original games UI would be really welcome.

I would also really love to see the original cool tone and dreamy lighting come back, either by settings to adjust saturation and contrast being made available, or by a new light filter being made something that can be applied. 5. Change the sprinting animation! To anything else, really.

... And the last one, which is a really big ask. Remove level scaling entirely. Leave bandits on the road as low-level fodder in their iron/steel and fur/leather. Leave the marauders in their forts with their steel, with maybe a boss or two in orcish / ebony. Outside of a head of state or the rare, powerful mage / warlord, Daedric gear should be rare and restricted to Oblivion gates. Some areas of the world should be outleveled and some areas of the world should be dangerous. Strides have been made with your leveling redesign but we're still not close to the finish line.

Requests/Ideas Part 1

  1. For the mention of wanting Skyrim style crafting since that’s probably not possible it would be nice if we could gather the materials then pay a smith to make the weapon/armor at a discount. This would allow for additional way to get weapons/armor and could be done by just adding a crafting function similar to the repair function.

  2. The ability to pay to have unique items upgraded to their higher level variants at a shop.

  3. It would be nice for my characters body to change as my physical stats like athletic increase. I understand this probably isn’t possible but it would be nice.

  4. More immersive ways to fast travel such as a carriage. Also, maybe the ability as a quest reward to teleport from anywhere to the mage tower we get that has all the teleported.

  5. Just some quality of life features. Like maybe some improvements to clairvoyance/easier ways to navigate dungeons. Clairvoyance now either doesn’t work in some areas or I’m left stumped it would be nice if it gave hints.

• Problem: Unique quest rewards are locked to the player’s level at completion, forcing players to delay quests to avoid getting weak versions.
• Impact: This punishes exploration and immersion, making players meta-game instead of freely experiencing the story.
• Solution: Introduce a Legacy Reforging system — players can strengthen unique items later through quests, rituals, or reforging tied to their actions and playstyle.
• Result: Keeps legendary items feeling personal, rewarding, and powerful throughout the game, without punishing early curiosity.

FEEDBACK PART 3

11. I saw in the Skills page that Armorer has retained the ability to improve things beyond 100%, but I haven't played far enough to see if this goes beyond 125%, which was the original game's cap. If you've stuck to 125%, then I would like to suggest the following system:
--- At Armorer 75, you're given the ability to improve items to 175%. Then, as you raise the skill, the cap increases accordingly, so at 100 Armorer the improvement scales to 200%. This would make early items useable in the late game, just as Skyrim's Smithing allowed iron equipment and such to stay competitive with its own improvement system
12. As others have said, I too would like the ability to delete unwanted spells in your grimoire. A mod was made to allow this in Classic Oblivion, and it was a godsend
13. The black textbox that appears when looking at an object or NPC is very obstructive. Please reduce the opacity of the black background, and if possible, remove the border around it as well
14. I created a female Breton, and when I go from 1st person to admire her in 3rd, she only occupies the lower half of the camera, even when zoomed in closely. My character is gorgeous (thank you so much for that, by the way) and she deserves to occupy more of the camera space

  2. You can swim with armour on?
  3. While playing last time I couldn't fastsave. Ended up having to leave the game after playing the same sequence over and over.
  4. Cannot call your horse to you. Very important issue as sometimes you end up in a different area to where you dismounted.
  5. No visible life bar for the horse.
  6. In a lot of cases, the fast access only gives you one item at a time. Even though there are multiples in the inventory.
  7. An enemy sometimes chases you forever, or until you kill it or die. There should be a range limit so you can get away from enemies you cannot kill.

This is a fantastic idea (advising of glitches). May it continue...👍

FEEDBACK PART 4

15. I love the 1st person animations, and I especially adore how every weapon type now swings differently, with regular attack combos of various lengths and styles. I also love the 3rd person animations for every combat action / combo. The jumping / falling animations are also great, and I love the variety, so not every jump looks the same. However, I'm not a fan of the walking and non-sprint running animations in 3rd person. These are a bit gorilla-like, especially on women, with a very poor posture
16. Movement physics are a great addition. The severed head on the Goblin Shaman Staff gave me a hearty chuckle, as its jaw opened and closed in time with my movements. This was wonderful! What's not wonderful, though, is how the new movement physics have completely broken every skirt and robe in the game. The skirts clip through their own material, as well as the wearer's legs. This is a bug that can (and should) be fixed, but also, I would suggest giving players the option to disable movement physics in the first place. As fun as movement physics are, they can cause things to move in unrealistic ways, and this can break immersion. Disabling movement physics would likely improve performance for older computers as well
17. As others have said, the descriptions for the Origins in Character Creation are riddled with typos, poor punctuation, and bad word choices, like "Your uprising" instead of "Your upbringing". My very first impression of the game was not positive because of this, and I was left with the horrible feeling that the text was written by AI. Even if a human wrote the descriptions, though, it's obvious that they weren't checked for quality, which is a real shame

Maybe a bit of an out of scope suggestion, but I wish the island of Stirk (off the coast of Anvil) gets added into the game... it was always a bit weird to me how that part of Cyrodiil was left out of TES4, especially considering its importance (as evidenced in ESO). It's only a third of the size of Solstheim, so I feel it could be added as a mini dlc

I humbly request, please, two minor changes to improve gameplay and stick with that classic, relaxing feel we love with both Oblivion and Skyrim:

  • No highlight around interactable items. It's repetitive, since we already get an interaction prompt, and it's distracting. It's something I have never liked about MMOs, and I'm not playing an MMO. It distracts from the relaxing, nice and immersive environment! Make this an option for those who want it and those who don't.
  • Please let us get rid of the constant dot in the middle of the screen. It also is distracting and takes away from the ambience of the game. Have it be a toggle or another option in the menu for those who want it.

Edit: For those downvoting -- seriously?** I'm suggesting to have the options be toggable for players, **not get rid of it altogether.

More of a nitpick than anything, but I’d like it if the dialogue options showed the full line rather than a vague topic. Very small thing that causes a lot of character to be lost.

Rework XP gain for armour, I feel like I’m being punished for playing well as I need to get hit to gain meaningful amounts of XP.

HDR

Different UI styles, closer to OG.

Some item weights need to be changed, I understand remaining faithful to the original but repair hammers and arrows are too integral to gameplay to occupy that much inventory space. Rangers in particular are punished for their play style.

Additional pages for the radial menu would be excellent.

Finally, complete pipe dream, but I’d like level scaling to be removed. Have specific areas/dungeons with higher strength enemies, but bandits in the overworld shouldn’t become deities because I got stronger.

this thread is missing the mark entirely. these suggestions are incredibly niche and personalized.

bethesda isnt at our beck and call for every whim that we can think of, to completely remake a game that is 20 years old. be realistic folks.

we should be giving feedback that is reasonably easy to implement and broadly improves quality of the game for all...

Less of a suggestion and more of a bug report (sorry if this was said previously or is known):

When creating custom spells and enchants and trying to select Fortify Skill or Fortify Attribute, the game will often times not allow you to select a different attribute than what is originally listed and the menus are generally buggy. Things I would like to see:

  1. Multiple hair color sliders for Khajiit to adjust their mane and facial hair independently. Think orange base fur, white beard for a tiger look. Right now you can only do orange fur with a linked orange beard/mane color.
  2. Bug(?) fix on PC with Xbox controller: When you open a container and hit RS to move stuff from your inventory to the container, you have to double click RS because the first one opens the details menu.
  3. Fix: Show carry weight on the open container/"take all" screen. I want to know how much room I have left before I hit that button.
  4. Add a gold per weight inventory sort category. It makes efficiently looting dungeons so much easier. Warhammers sell for a lot but are really heavy, so it might be better to leave it behind and take 5 daggers instead. This has been in the Skyrim "SkyUI" mod for forever.
  5. A keyring. Put the keyring in the Misc section of the inventory, then when you click the keyring it'll open a submenu to show all the keys you've picked up. My Misc inventory is a mess with like 30+ keys right now, and I'm only level 10. I believe this was a feature in Fallout 3, Skyrim, and other games.
  6. Subsections in the inventory, like the OG Oblivion. Under alchemy the instruments should be at the top. Then there should be a section for your potions, then under that would be your ingredients. Group everything together so it's easy to find what you're looking for. Same with the other categories. But Alchemy instruments and in Misc. the repair hammers should always be right at the top because you use them so much and it's a pain to scroll and find them.
  7. Map icons on the various wayshrines of the divines, and standing stones. Right now they're unmarked.

I would love the ability to hide the dot/crosshair except when aiming with ranged attacks. Movement is way too fast, and if you try to walk, you can only just barely press the analog stick, applying even the slightest additional pressure, you go from 1 mph to 90 mph. So i feel like deadzone options would help remedy that, but i would like to be able to move at a more realistic speed through the beautiful world Bethesda has created.

Lastly, Horse controls could definitely use an update, trying to turn your Horse around is painful.

FEEDBACK PART 5

18. Speaking of Character Creation, I LOVE all the new choices for eyes! It gives us new roleplay potential, as a human with Khajiit, Argonian, or Daedric eyes implies mixed ancestry. I love it so much! Unfortunately, the huge range of eyes makes the relative lack of hair colours pale in comparison, which is very strange, because the original Oblivion had a 255-255-255 RGB colour picker, allowing us to have any colour we pleased. I greatly appreciate the new hair root and hair tip scheme, it's lovely to have more than one colour in your hair, but the range of available colours for each part of your hair is currently lacking, and arguably broken. For example, selecting black only gives your character's hairstyle a medium-to-dark brown colour. Please bring back a 255-255-255 RGB colour picker, for both roots and tips
19. Similarly, I believe choosing skin colours would be mechanically streamlined, and artistically improved, by replacing the current skin tint choices and skin sliders with a simple 255-255-255 RGB colour picker
20. The Young-Old slider is, as we speak, broken. I don't know if this is a bug, or something that was intended, but the ages on the slider do not progress in a logical fashion with the youngest on the left and the oldest on the right. Instead, the ages are all over the place, with very young options found halfway up the slider. Please amend this

For consoles specifically:

  1. NG+ (or allow us to port characters with some equipment/stats into a new game)

  2. Make console command armor pieces just available, ie mythic dawn armour set, imperial captain armour sets, etc.

  3. Make weapons scaled with leveling after it’s been acquired, I want to be able to use chillrend for the full play through. Or be able to at least improve their stats to their counterparts.

  4. Since no mods - it would be cool to add some invincible followers (doesn’t have to be necessarily invincible)

  1. NPC health bars during combat so you know if they are close to death so you can either reposition yourself or heal them.

  2. Having the quick select hotbar pause the game in real time (like when persuading NPCs mini game). Sure you can go into the menu at any time and tab through but the point of the hotbar is to make things feel more fluid. Then it'll be easier to use for swapping spells or equipment in combat

I think enemy scaling needs to be changed. At the moment, when you reach certain level thresholds all of the enemies are upgraded to new stronger versions (ie. clanfear get replaced with deadroth, bandits get replaced by stronger bandit types, wolves evolve into Minotaurs). However, this makes it feel like you’re not really getting stronger. I think the more stronger enemies need to be mixed in with weaker ones as you increase level. ie. a random encounter in the woods at level 1 could be a wolf, but at level 20 it could either be a wolf or a Minotaur. That way we get some of the stronger enemies, but also retain some of the weaker ones so we can feel how much stronger we have become

  • add more shortcuts + search bar for spellbook, currently I'm forced to either abandon majority of spells or open up the spellbook multiple times because there isn't enough room on shortcuts for the vast variety of spells, I can't even hotkey potions because I need them all for spells, it's a mess to use spells right now, I'll probably resort to console deleting some of them to clean it up but the sort/search is terrible right now, should be able to favourite or something too?
  • the range for the player and monsters is kind of cooked it's hard to play 3rd person because you often misjudge the distance for attack, I jump over a monster on 1hp and he still kills me
  • honestly if there was more transparency and support for mods I'd say no change is required but given that modders are having a hard time I can't go there to fix these issues
  • the quicksave/autosave sometimes bugs out and doesn't allow it to work, security permissions on windows or something
  • have had a save corrupt and not be loadable anymore, originally happened after I left Mingo Cave killing all the mythic dawn inside (not on quest)
  • finally, the performance can be a little ass , I've tried every setting, even going to 1080p to try and get stable 120fps+ in cities, say cheydinhal, and it was still not achievable, frame stability is a big issue right now and without ai frame generation * fsr the game is kind of jank to Play

I have to say first that the Remaster has been phenomenal all around. It's been a comfort to play in Cyrodill again. After playing for several hours now, I do have the following suggestions.

  • Allow spells to be removed from our Magic Menu for cleanup. Currently it can become cluttered and bloated, especially when spell crafting comes into play.

  • Adjustment of difficulty balance between Adept and Expert. Weapons barely affect opponents and only a few hits knock player characters out. Under the current conditions, equipment breaks far too often and encounters become tediously difficult.

  • Allow Legendary advancement the same way Skyrim did for your class' Major Skills.

  • Removal of leveled statistics for reward equipment (Chillrend, Ring of Vipereye, Klatch Cuirass, etc.). This would remove the need to time quest completion until later to get the best reward.

  • Faster scrolling when using the filter setting in Alchemy crafting. Currently, it takes too long to sort effects, on console at least.

  • Map begins auto-zoomed on the current interior location.

  • Removal of the "Are you sure you want to sell" when bartering unless it's an item which exceeds the merchant's gold rating.

  • An eyebrows section added to Hair in Character Creation would be appreciated.

  • Toggle the Quest Marker on the compass On or Off to recreate an experience like Morrowind.

My suggestions are to

  1. increase weapon types. I would love to see polearm weapons make a return for example. Spears can be blade scaling with agility. Halberds blade with strength, Staves are blunt and scale with strength.

  2. I think better optimization is needed. I have a gaming desktop only 2 yrs old and its hard to keep 30 fps at times even on medium.

  3. bring back the unarmored skill, let the monk players have more

  4. Let the Luck stat influence skills even once they reach lvl 100. If it takes 4 points to raise it by 1, that reward for a high luck shouldnt go away

I enjoy my vampire playthroughs. I think dealing with the negative effects of the late stages of being a vampire would be worthwhile if we had new spells such as a vampiric drain (absorb health), Summon gargoyle at a later stage of vampirism, and maybe at stage 4 as a one time use until you feed again a mist form like the vampire lord from Dawnguard or something similar. I feel like vampires are more beneficial out of combat and in stealth but when it comes to blows they don't have much to offer on the offensive end. My opinion. EDIT: This may be a stretch but in stealth allowing the ability to feed on a hostile NPC from stealth as a "Feed Drain" can kill them. (Activated like you would have the option to pick pocket or feed if they were sleeping)

I don't know if it's possible, but I would like to see some more options for the character creator; more body options for example (like height change, muscle on both male and female body types, weight, etc),

also, being able to make your character's face look younger than 40 on some of the races (Imperials for one) would be nice!

I think one of the biggest problems with the remaster, that can't be easily fixed by mods, is the change to fatigue as part of the damage formula for weapons has completely removed any ability to scale their damage in the late game, and making them completely unviable in harder difficulties.

Either fatigue needs to be reintroduced, or there needs to be ways to scale your base damage, like allowing attributes to contribute to damage past 100.

Mercantile now scales based on value sold instead of item quantity.
Magic xp now scales based on spell magicka cost instead of a fixed ammounnt per cast.
So.

Make weapon xp scale based on damage dealt (instead of a fixed ammount per hit). Otherwise its always better to train using a dagger which hits the fastest.

When it makes sense, copy all the interior cells for buildings into the main interior cell (replacing loading doors with regular opening doors). I know this would require a lot of busy work in the editor, but this would make navigating some buildings more immersive. There are a lot of small buildings, like the Mages Guild, that separate floors into cells. (Or basement doors, really any of the small rooms. I think some were done that way because they have a lot of items(?) but it doesn't really make sense now).

  • Add a 45fps mode (adaptive framerate) for Series S.
  • Expand the grass draw distance for Series S.
  • Fix the delay in drawing/casting shadows when moving quickly on Series X/S, particularly noticeable on foliage.
  • Introduce a "cleared" tag for dungeons that have been completed (they will respawn, but this tag will assist players).
  • Revise the inventory system by adding subcategories or redesigning it entirely.
  • Consider adding shield bashing for both the player and AI enemies.
  • Adjust enemy scaling to spawn weaker mob types at higher levels, enhancing player empowerment while still including high-level mobs for a challenge.
  • Rebalance the difficulty settings.
  • Remove unique/quest weapon scaling, or make it adaptive to the player's level. Potentially implement a maximum item level to prevent
certain weapons from becoming too powerful, ensuring that weapons remain consistently effective throughout the game.

FEEDBACK PART 6

21: I love almost all the new magical VFX. The pulse emitted when casting Detect Life, however, is extremely bold, bright, and far-reaching. I appreciate the logic of a pulse that detects creatures in its radius, but in practice, it looks noisy, messy, and overwhelming. Honestly, I think Detect Life would look a lot better without it
22: This is a matter of personal taste, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention it. The new healing VFX is fine, but I much prefer the cyan-blue glow of Old Oblivion's healing. When you're hurt in real life, inflammation follows, and you get very hot very quickly. The light cyan-blue of Old Oblivion's healing always looked cooling and comforting to me, like a glass of soothing water on a hot day. I know Skyrim had gold healing VFX, and I realise there's an effort here to make Oblivion more like Skyrim, but I think Skyrim dropped the ball when it made its healing spells gold too
23: If you have the time and the budget, some new types of clothing would be greatly appreciated. Hats, gloves, knee-high boots... Perhaps even thigh-high boots as well. As things stand, all non-armour footwear only goes as high as the ankle, and that's very restricting. It's also very strange that there's no unarmoured gloves and hats in Cyrodiil, especially in the colder parts like Bruma.
24: Some new weapon types would also be appreciated, polearms and crossbows specifically

SjOd3 Pt 1:

  1. Adept is pretty much the only usable difficulty. Both the easier and harder difficulties are either so easy that it’s pointless or so hard that it’s almost impossible.

  2. It’s too easy now to level some skills by spamming them. You can spam jump on a hill for 5 min and be 25 acrobatics immediately to unlock dodge early game. Magic is similar in that now you can level up quicker based on not just how often you cast spells but how costly they are to cast as well. This makes it too easy to exploit leveling up magic by just making super powerful spells maxed out in your given level of mastery. Maybe it’s possible to keep the feature while not making it so easy to exploit.

  3. If possible, have reward equipment scale up with you based on your level range (per level would be ideal rather than the current phased leveling of the reward equipment).

  4. Double tap option for dodge and separate bindable button/key for dodge.

  5. More than one zoom setting for the local map (tbh the hold zoom to view local map is not a good mechanic. Just replace with a separate button to view the local map like the interior).

  6. Swap the inventory and magic dpad buttons. It’s bizarre that the magic tab is physically to the right of the inventory tab yet is the left dpad button. Yeah you can change it to that but it should be default.

  7. More clear instructions on how to remove alchemy ingredients from potion. Took me a little bit to learn that you have to deselect the ingredient in your inventory with the diamond next to it.

  8. First person view on horse pretty please?

  9. Pause/slow game and be able to move when the favorites wheel is up/make more wheels.

Adding a difficulty between Adept and Expert would be huge. I'm struggling to enjoy either difficulty with myself being the damage sponge on Adept and the enemies being the damage sponge on Expert. Please add a Custom diffuculty option, Oblivion is such a memorable game and the remastered version is so much fun but the low point that limit the fun for me like the original is the difficulty options. It's either way too long to kill enemies making it tedious without cheese, or you are way too long to kill, disabling all challenge. I prefer realist difficulty where I die fast but kill fast, so the initiative of the fight and not beign outnumbered matter more and a custom difficulty option would let me play in this aspect. Modding is not an option for me, I play on GeforceNow. FEEDBACK PART 7

25: Speaking of weapons, I've noticed that axes are still categorised as Blunt weapons. I remember a book in Old Oblivion that explains this, but new players unaware of the in-game reasoning are likely to find it very strange, especially now that weapons look shinier and sharper. I would suggest renaming and reorganising the Blade and Blunt skills to One-Handed and Two-Handed, respectively, in order to avoid this issue
26: "Cosmetic" or "Ceremonial" armour would be a nice addition, for mages who like the look of an armour piece but don't want to compromise their speed and spell effectiveness. There could be a shop in Cyrodiil that sells replicas of all Tamrielic armour in the game, and likewise, a shop in the Shivering Isles that sells replicas of all SI armour. A "Ceremonial Iron Cuirass" would look just like a proper Iron Cuirass, but it would be categorised as clothing, with no armour rating. A possible justification for the existence of these shops would be for theatre groups, who need costumes for their plays. After all, in real life, there are costumes that look very much like real armour, but wouldn't protect the wearer at all in a fight
27: An alternative to #26 would be to allow Spell Effectiveness to scale up to 100% when skilled enough in the armour you're wearing. That way, a mage can wear whatever they like, provided they level their armour skills first. The game removes weight from armour once you've mastered wearing it, so it would make sense to remove all penalties to Spell Effectiveness as well

SjOd3 Pt 2:

  1. Better on screen quest prompts. All “quest updated” indications should come with the corresponding on screen quest prompt. Especially if the quest is updated or given mid dialogue. I always should be able to activate a newly given quest after exiting dialog with a on screen prompt right after the dialog.

  2. Being able to get battlehorn castle/froctag spire early game is a little immersion breaking. Yeah when I played the original, I was mid playthrough when the dlc dropped and I woulda been mad if I couldn’t unlock it right after I paid for it but now it’s in the base game. Maybe only be able to get the rumor for the map location at a high enough level

  3. Be able to rename/delete created spells (rename potions too).

  4. Why’d you get rid of being able to cast a spell while blocking?

  5. Thought I’d mention that you can fast travel while over encumbered while on a horse. Maybe that makes sense because the horse can carry all the weight.

  6. Setting to turn HP regenen off. But I do personally really like the implementation because it prevents wait spamming.

  8. I think it’s just a waste of time to have to press another key/thumbstick to open up your inventory when searching. Just immediately have both inventories pop up on the screen. It’s annoying to have to do that every time to make sure I’m not over encumbering myself.

  9. More than two movement speeds. 3 would probably fine.

Make it so Apparel which covers multiple gear slots (such as Robes which count as Chest+Legs) provide a proportionally stronger enchantment when we enchant them . So for example:
• Chest Armor piece provides Fortify Magicka +50
• Leg Armor piece provides Fortify Magicka +50
• Robe covers both gear slots, so should give Fortify Magicka +100

It’s a bit hard to swap spells/weapons pressing 5-8 (especially during combat), perhaps adding another hotkey swap wheel that you can switch to by pressing ctrl+a number or alt + a number (or ctrl scroll wheel to just scroll through each spell you have queued up)

Also having a sort by new/old for each category would be nice

And the ability to add multiple quests markers

Suggestions! Just some quality-of-life stuff that wouldn't change the Oblivion-ness of the gameplay:

  1. When opening the map inside a dungeon, have it default to showing the dungeon map. Right now it just pulls up the world map and you have to manually zoom in every time.

  2. Horse summoning item or ability.

  3. An option to mark inventory items as junk, coupled with a "Sell All Junk" button when shopping at merchants.

  4. An option to group quests by location (i.e. Chorrol Quests, Cheydinhal Quests, Bruma Quests, etc).

Only change that's really been REALLY bothersome is the physics engine, the changes made have made it literally impossible to decorate player homes in the way the original did, not being able to put items on shelves or cupboards, not being able to position items next to eachother or upright, it takes the breath out of making a player home.

  • Separate button for interior map zones and the general map? Zooming in and out as it is was a change for the worse imo.

  • Leveled loot has been a longtime gripe of the community, but I'm sure that's already been discussed.

  • Leveled rewards could (should imo) be either set to one stat or get stronger as the player levels, some quests feel like they punish the player for doing them earlier in the game by giving them otherwise good equipment that's very quickly underpowered by level progression.

  • Keyring, notes folder and/or barber (face changing possibility in the Shivering Isles perhaps?)

  • This one is a bit of wishful thinking, but some development in Kvatch post sack would be massive in making the world feel lively.

Otherwise it's great, lifelong Oblivion fan :)

Two more suggestions from my experience:

First is changing how you loot corpses with enemies that use weapons. It would be a blessing to be able to loot weapons/shields off corpses on the off chance when defeating an enemy that has one or both a weapon and a shield drops them in a way that makes them harder to obtain or if they somehow clip through the floor. Having them being able to be looted off the corpse would make this not be an issue.

Second I am not sure if it was mentioned before or if its a part of the world or a graphical glitch. Sometimes leaving a cave or building at night or fast traveling there seems to be blobs of light that just kind of sits on the world.

Love the Remaster, but would love to see a few additions.

  1. Better inventory sorting, as well as category dividers like the original.
  2. More clothing options to make use of the hands slot, as well as some mode head slot items, like circlets, would be lovely.
  3. An overall buff to two-handed weapons, as they feel less powerful than in the original due to their slower speed.
  4. A means of removing crafted spells.
  5. An adjustment to player height to match NPC height of that race.
  6. An enhancement to dodging, as it is a little janky at the moment.
  7. More hairstyles would be nice.
  8. An ability to select character’s voice regardless of race.
  9. I’d love for weapons to show up in enemy’s inventories after death, instead of having to figure out where they flew away to when the body ragdolled.

Again, thanks for the Remaster. I’m having a blast.

Hello, not sure how much the team is willing to change, but I had a few ideas I wanted to throw out there. One major thing: it would be great if random enemies had more realistic gear limits. It's fun getting cool loot, but seeing random bandits in rare gear all the time hurts immersion. It would make more sense if, say, an orc bandit chief had orcish armor or an elven one had elven gear, basically equipment that matches their background. Some enemies could still have higher-end gear, but it would feel more believable. To keep encounters challenging, some bandits could wear former legion or guard armor, making them seem like deserters.

Enemy scaling! The one thing I looked for coming back from original Oblivion and a huge immersion and fun killer after loving Morrowind. I am here to suggest a way to remove custom created spells would be really nice.

The mages tower dlc is bugging out and some of the furniture is now missing after loading a save. Made a new game and went to the tower and that fixed it on my same. Seems like a reference marker is getting loaded into ram or something not sure.

Would be awesome to see the little dlc that are now integrated into the game be updated to be more consistent with the rest of the gameplay. Things like buying stuff for the thieves den dlc home it doesn't use an actual store menu still. Since it's part of the game now it'd make more sense to see things like that be adjusted to blend in with everything else.

Would be nice if there was an easy way to get to the local map and also would be awesome if the map markers would tell me what was and wasn't cleared like the newer titles had.

While I am here it's hard to store things in chests we really shouldn't have to click a button to open our own inventory.

And while we're at it let's lost all my other ideas I've had. Firstly it'd be cool to have the carriages like skyrim had.

I'd like it if some more crafting tables were added to do things like skyrim had, upgrading weapons and Maki g things with all the ores and jewels that are in the game.

Would be cool if there was an option in the control schemes that simply let's you bind a button to dragging items so I don't need to hold the action button. I'd expect it to be blank by default and it to act similar to the original game.

A little more on the side of wishful thinking and don't expect anything more but you can't change your ears it'd be nice if I could, atleast I couldn't with the human races. Wives and children were cool that'd be nice if you added that from skyrim. Fallout 4 and skyrims followers worked so much better it'd be cool to see the followers updated. Would be cool to be able to build my own castle similar to what fallout 4 had.

FEEDBACK PART 8

28: This is a major concern of mine. I like the new levelling system except for the fact that Major Skills give more Level Up XP than Minor Skills. I understand the logic of this, but in practice, it's got a big problem. For example, if you pick a Breton or a High Elf, and then the Mage class, all your Major Skills are going to be somewhere from 40 to 30. Compare this to someone who deliberately picks a suboptimal build, with 25 in all of their Major Skills after talking to Baurus. The suboptimal build will, ironically, get more Level Up XP from Major Skills (and therefore, more XP overall, and quicker levelling) than the dedicated Mage. This problem is resolved if Major and Minor Skills give the same amount of Level Up XP each.
29: If you have a custom class, and you move the cursor from the Race/Birthsign sections of the Character Sheet down to the Class section, the textbox which would have contained the custom class's portrait and description briefly appears before hiding itself. Old Oblivion lacked portraits and descriptions for custom classes too, but the Remaster doesn't need to repeat this. It would be very cool if we could choose a portrait for our custom classes, and write our own descriptions for them, which would then be displayed in the Character Sheet like any of the pre-made classes.
Lastly, others have said these, and I'd like to echo them:
30: The ability to delete unwanted and obsolete spells in your grimoire
31: A barber / face changer would be an excellent addition
32: A keyring to store all your keys and save inventory space would also be amazing

Slow down gear tier progression and/or limit the gear tiers available to basic enemies

I just started the game and every bandit is in ebony armor... also, it is immersion breaking to have every single enemy in rare, expensive armor. Bandits in a piss poor camp outside a random cave shouldn't be in full glass armor imo.

ivory holly
#

1 most NPC gear should be rarity capped. Bandits & marauders in anything above steel makes adventuring for new gear feel so odd. The exception may be for bosses in a dungeon to have a single weapon or gear piece above steel. If you want to make sure they're still financially rewarding to clear out, give bosses a small hoard of gems/gold directly for the player to take/sell.

2 unique gear quest rewards are level scaled & need a way to be updated if you acquire them at an early level - maybe via a armourer interaction.

3 Levelled enemy spawn lists means that some enemy types disappear when you hit a certain level, low level type enemies should continue to spawn at higher player levels for variety, maybe in pairs to compensate.

4 When doing skill training you cannot see your current skill level.

5 There is no keybind on pc to create potions, have to click the ui button - unlike repair armour menu which has R for example.

6 Id love to see the follower system (commands, sandboxing, inventory access) ported back from Skyrim and applied to NPC's like the adoring fan, Men at arms, DB/Mage guild followers, and the Knights of the Nine.

7 shield bash should become available at block level 25 rather than 75 - it appears at such a high level for a basic action.

8 difficulty needs tuning. Personally I'd love to see a copy of the way it's handled in Starfield with a whole list of different things you can toggle. E.g. you could have one that disables instantly healing from potions, making it over time only,

9 survival mode.

10 can we get a setting to toggle off membrane/rim shaders for active gear/spell enchantments so things don't have a constant coloured sheen or tint.

Not sure how easy this would be to add into the game but maybe adding in some quests that were unfinished. Just knowing that the Unmarked Cave is now more accessible after 20 years of being locked out due to a unique key that was part of a quest never finished makes me wonder how many other quests were never finished. Even if they were small ones it would be interesting to see this game in its full potential with these older unsure quests added.

It would be great if there was a way to make it clearer that the Septim princes had families who were also killed by the Mythic Dawn. It always bothered me that Uriel’s sons are older, but there is no mention of an extended Septim family that likely existed and would have been targeted too. It know that is super minor, but like I said that ways always something that bothered me, especially since some much of the lore around the septim dynasty feels lived in and immersive, odd to have them go out in a vague handwave.
Another thing that has always bothered me is how run-down Cyrodiil feels. Adding more Legion camps or making some forts, like Fort Ash, rebuilt Legion outposts instead of abandoned ruins would help. While these locations are alright to explore, they do not offer much loot, and having them all abandoned makes the Empire seem needless more weak then it should be.
Finally, if there is a way to delay some of the DLC content, that would be great. I do not like how people start talking about the Anvil chapel and the Prophet right away. It would have more impact if my character had already been to Anvil and met the chapel residents first (also maybe a way to set it so the major dlcs only start at certain levels, I know their is a mod that does that but not everyone can use that). Sorry for the ramble. This game has been around so long that I have had plenty of time to think about these kinds of things.

My biggest suggestion would be to separate enemy health & enemy damage with regard to difficulty settings.

FEEDBACK PART 9

I would like to thank the devs once again for all of their hard work. New Oblivion is just as much a remake as it is a remaster. The attention to detail is incredible in all the rebuilt locations, items, equipment, and spells. I adore so many things about the new game. The world is just so alive now, with insects, fish, lights in people's windows at night, the additional voice talent... I really hope the game does well, and it deserves an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam one day, when all the bugs and UI / HUD problems are fixed. If I may offer one final suggestion, it is my hope that the devs aren't disheartened by haters, unhinged purists, and anti-woke reactionaries. When I saw the new Iron Cuirass and Iron Greaves on my female Breton, I burst into a wide smile, because I'm a fan of the "Assorted Protective Female Armors" mod for Old Oblivion, which likewise gives women proper iron and chainmail armour suits. I also approve of the changes the Remaster has given to clothing like the female Huntsman Leather Vest and Pants. Thank you so much for everything you have done, and everything you'll do going forward. I wish you all the very best.

Two recommendations:

  • Torches and lights should have their range increased. Light radius for these seem really low and one of the best way to play the game is with darkness turned way up. But when torches only offer like 5-8 feet of effectively light it becomes not very viable.

  • In general, more ways to modernize the character creator and allow players to make even more unique characters.
  • Some kind of in game photo mode would be great for such a pretty game.
  • Unique items either shouldn’t be leveled, or should have a way to be leveled up, either automatically, or via a service from an NPC.

However, the separate category for keys (and others, apparatus, potions, ingredients, gems, scrolls) needs to be brought back. Oblivion remaster IS a good game which improves on the original. You can play it for a very, very long time and never get bored.

But mods made Oblivion eternal for me. New lands, new creatures, new outfits and mechanics tailored to the needs of each and every player. I turned Oblivion into a very cool vampire simulator game... then I played it again as a thief, then I completed the main quest again, this time with QoL mods, then I made a wandering alchemist and traded all around Cyrodiil. There was an Elsweyr mod, a Hammerfell mod, and a WIP Skyrim mod which I never got to see.

Mod support is one of the strong points of TES for me, even when the games can stand tall on their own.

First gotta give credit where credit is due!! 💯 Thank you Bethesda and the Virtuos team for this incredible work on the Oblivion remaster! It’s amazing to see such a nostalgic game brought back with so much care! With that, I’d also like to share a few ideas as well

Content Suggestions:
• Werewolf faction/storyline with the ability to become a werewolf.
• Rebuild Kvatch DLC with new quests before and after restoration.
• Online Arena Mode: PVP battles, Co-op Arena challenges, and online spectator betting.
• Online Co-op Adventure Mode option with friends.
• Expanded Blades quests after joining the faction.

Gameplay Improvements:
• Photo Mode
• Survival Mode (food, sleep, etc.)
• Mounted combat.
• Ability to tame the Unicorn subject to fame/infamy conditions.
• Improved Followers: Ability to upgrade gear, manage inventory, adding more available followers in-game, and recruiting multiple followers from the same faction (Knights of the Nine).
• Hide Helmet option.
• Enhanced dodge mechanic with invincibility frames, also bring back backflips.
• Toggle friendly fire on/off option available for follower/ally NPCs.
• Option to delete spells such as custom spells from the spell book.
• Already obtained weapons scale with current player level.
• Horse whistle feature/button to call your horse from anywhere
• "Store All" button for containers. #oblivion-suggestions

  • option to always show player inventory when looting
  • ability to remove spells (at least custom spells) from spellbook
  • wear pants under robes so I can min/max mage without wearing plaid suspenders
  • more keybind slots (including shift+X or ctrl+X options for keybinds)
  • additional engine/performance optimization for UE5
  • hide helmet option
  • if I could change 1 design choice it would be making the heavy armored leg models so thin. It makes armors like the imperial guard and emperor armor in particular look… unfortunate.
  • mod support (In all reality I would be happy just getting capes and midas magic back into the game haha)

FEEDBACK PART 10

I just remembered a few things.

33. When you talk to an NPC, especially in a shop, a light appears to illuminate the NPC's face. I understand it's there to make reactions easier to see in the speechcraft minigame, but when you finish the conversation, the light becomes very noticeable, as it lingers for a moment before disappearing. This is very immersion breaking. Instead of spawning invisible flashlights under the chins of shopkeepers, there could be less intrusive ways to illuminate their faces, like additional candles and ceiling lights in the shops?
34. Speaking of bartering, a reduction in the frequency of shopkeeper comments when buying and selling items would be great.
35. Similarly, I would like a significant reduction in the frequency of combat barks. During the tutorial segment, Glenroy and Baurus repeated the same lines in quick succession, often during the same battle
36. Likewise, during speechcraft, hearing the same lines over and over again gets old really quickly. Could NPC comments in the speechcraft minigame be toggled off, or made to only occur sometimes? Paying attention to the disposition score is enough to know we've picked the correct options.
37. Some fires are able to hurt the player when stepped on; others don't. This is immersion breaking, and a problem Skyrim had as well.
38. Not every container says it's Empty after you've looted it. Please make this consistent.

Again, thank you so much for everything you have done, and are continuing to do. The Remaster is incredible, and I want it to do well

Nah, I think Pronouns option should be added for Roleplay. Plus, we already have the Body Type option as is, which is still controlling the pronouns in-game as is. Must've well just go all in and have both for Roleplay.

Anyways, to keep things on topic with my own post. Obviously, I will be agreeing with Pronouns as a character creation option but I also think a basic marriage system could also just be fun to have, similar to Skyrim. A way to make one's own home less empty feeling. Oh, and yes. I agree with a previous person here. An ability to remove unwanted spells. General Fix

  1. More Quick slots or change the wheel to a list but still allow numbers. As a mage trying to switch spells is hard when you only have 9 quick slots for all your spells + weapons and potions is very jarring as i have to pause the game just to use one quick spell
  2. Remove Weight from Arrows

Combat Fixes

  1. Fixes enemies hit boxes, animal enemies (mostly) like the Clannfear can hit you from way further then should be possible (A clip I found for reference)
    https://www.twitch.tv/exighl/clip/FaintVenomousAxePMSTwin-f0rkrPH3xqoBEsKN

  2. Tweak tracking on enemies, the doge system is a joke as the melee tracking (mostly for animal enemies) can track the whole way of the doge and still hit you, ties in with the first one as dogging back also does nothing

  3. Better difficulty, Adept is way to easy and Expert is way to hard if you're anything other than a heavy amour tank. Combined with the combat issues its hard to get a satisfying challenge.

The Area a whole quest line focused entirely on combat mostly devolves into running backwards shooting arrows or running around spamming healing spells then trying to get a few hits in. Shows the combat needs a tweak.

--- ISSUES MOSTLY SPECIFIC TO HIGHER DIFFICULTIES ---

Enchanted weapons deplete charge too quickly relative to their effects, and without Azura's Star keeping them charged is a Sisyphean task on higher difficulties. With Azura's Star, keeping them charged is a Herculean labor that requires hotkeying Azura's star and using it to open the menu after basically every fight to recharge your weapon. Also, unlike in Skyrim if you don't know Azura's Star can't hold black souls in Oblivion, meaning if you enter something like a fort then all of your enemies have untrappable souls.

Weapon/Armor durability as a system starts out as an inconvenience for melee/archers, turns into a benefit once you can repair to 125, and then becomes an inconvenience again once you realize you're level 25 and have to open the menu after every fight or two to top off your gear, and sometimes if a fight is really rough your gear just breaks before you can even get out of combat. You hit level 100 Armorer and now can infinitely repair your gear, yet you still have to open the menu every fight to do it.

Melee/Archery players, despite on the surface level being martial roles, actually spend more time worrying about casting soul trap on their enemies and the type/collectability of souls + their soul gem collection than characters entirely dedicated to magic.

Just a bunch of quality of life stuff I was hoping would be altered somewhat by the remaster so that playing melee/marksmen was a little less cumbersome. These are all really only prevalent on higher difficulties, so I can understand why some people may not have the same experience. Killing an enemy in 3 shots of your bow instead of 12 will obviously make you feel differently about the charge system on enchanted weapons.

1: A check mark similar to Skyrim when you have “finished” a dungeon or PoI.

2: Deeper inventory sorting. Item type, equipped.

3: Filled vs Unfilled soul gem indicator.

4: Bridge the gap between Adept and Expert difficulty. It’s just spread too far apart. Adept can feel way too easy while Expert feels like such a slog. Meet it in the middle.

5: Do away with the multiple zones within a zone. For example, most fighters guild buildings have 3-4 levels that require separate loading screens. Can those be condensed to one zone?

steel scroll
#

1: Improve the inventory system so that similar items are grouped more effectively. For example, potion items should be properly consolidated under a single category or label, rather than being scattered alphabetically by their individual names. Although potions currently share the same general tab, the alphabetical sorting causes them to be split apart by unrelated items.

2: Adjust the map zoom behavior for interiors and dungeons. When entering a building or dungeon, the map should automatically default to a zoomed-in view of the local area map, with the option to manually zoom out to view the broader world map. Currently, the system defaults to the world map view, requiring players to zoom in every time to see their immediate surroundings, which disrupts navigation flow.

3: Add a keychain system so that keys are grouped, and you click the keychain to ungroup them to see each individual key.

I've played the game for about 24 hours now. So far these are my suggestions 1. Again, official VR support would be WILD 2. Start the Knights of the Nine DLC around level 20 so we can see the Chapel before it is attacked. I feel similarly about most DLC that changes the world state, open world games should have some change in them over time. 3. Slow down the leveling, I remember it took a long time to become a journeyman expert or master, I'm level 19 and already I am expert in quite a few skills, and journeyman in a lot too. Also I feel like the stat points per level should maybe be toned down, maybe 10? I'm worried I'm going to get to 100 in skills super fast. It felt really satisfying in original oblivion to get high in skills, now it just seems so easy. I know this isn't skyrim, but I couldn't imagine being level 19 in skyrim with a few skills at 80. 4. Starfield style difficulty sliders would be awesome. Vendor money, damage in, damage out, durability, survival stuff maybe in the future, archery aim accuracy... 5. I wish enemies would aggro me more than my horse.

In my case, the new body types feel confusing and leave you thinking "wait, what body type am I in right now?" when making a character. I spend a long time doing that, so I definitely use that feature. Type 1 and 2 is unclear and you have to look at the model if you want to know what kind of character you're creating.
There are also purists who want to revert that tiny change to get the feeling of the original.
Not everybody who doesn't like Type 1 is engaged in some sort of political crusade, no matter how much some people 🤡 about it.
