Hi first of all, I love the game so far!! For me as a console (PS5) player it would be awesome if we could delete some of our own crafted spells or maybe spells in general. As i keep on experimenting with new spells my list grows on and on and i tend to lose the overview😅 And also an Option to change your apparence later in game would be great.

It would be really nice if the ability to use shoulder buttons/triggers on controller to quickly change slider amounts was re-enabled. I kinda don't have a clue why this was removed for the remaster given it's been a staple of Bethesda games for decades and existed in the original version of Oblivion as well.

Hello!

Spent a lot of hours in the original game and one thing I really didn't like is auto-leveling.

There are a lot of posts and comments regarding that mechanic on reddit and steam, but in short - when you level up in fact the game becomes more complex.

For me, when you level up - it should give more opportunities and allow you to beat old enemies easier.

It would be really cool to get additional game mods and be able to choose it when you start a new game.

See next options:

  • Fixed levels of all enemies. So, as result some areas will have stronger enemies, and to beat it you will have to level up and collect better equip.
    E.g. oscuros oblivion overhaul did it for the original game.
  • Smarter auto leveling, like in Skyrim.

And still guys who love the original mechanism can still be able to choose that option.

Now I'm using PS5, so no hope for 3d party mods, only official support.

TWEAKS TO CONJURATION: Whether this be an Official Creation or just added in an Update, PLEASE allow some way to summon two or three creatures at a time. Oblivion has the worst Conjuration skill line because it is only one creature at a time no matter what. Perhaps you could tweak the Conjuration master perk to be like Twin Souls from Skyrim, perhaps add a spell that summons a small group of weaker creatures instead of one, maybe a new enchantment you can add to armor that increases summon limit like that one Skyrim Creation. I'm down for ANYTHING that allows for multiple creatures to be summoned. To me it benefits the summoner fantasy so much when its more than one minion.

[BUG] The inner door of Moss Rock Cavern is too low, you can only get in by closing the door on yourself, but you cannot get out of the inner room.

I think the pc optimization could use a little work, framerate is inconsistent at times outdoors. Not sure if its too much to ask for nowadays but native resolution reaching 60fps would be amazing. DLSS and the other upscalers look pretty crappy especially compared to console graphics

As someone who uses dual input methods (mixture of mouse and keyboard and gamepad) via steam input it would be amazing to be able to use both simultaneously. Currently trying to use both results in input delay and stuttering specifically using mouse for look and gamepad for everything else.

It has probably been said before, but please do something about fog in interior spaces, at the very least. I was in a shop and saw fog above the ground, like the kind you might see hovering over a swamp, that's not natural indoors. Not only that, but it makes everything have a haze over it, especially in darker interior spaces. Turning fog off entirely looks bad, maybe that's just my opinion, but it doesn't look right either.

A Reshade toggle that brings back the classic color palette for both PC and Consoles. Right now the colors are too brownish, there is a mod that fixes that on PC called Ayeld Reshade and we need that on Consoles too

Add more immersion to Fame or Infamy. So let’s say if you’re a high ranking assassin or a good guy, you get bounties put on your head periodically or you get random gifts from anonymous people through couriers or treasure maps. Just a thought.

With this having been a remake, I really expected the sheer amount of loading screens and cells to be turned down. IDT the Imperial City is so big that it requires a dozen different cells. Also, the annoying (and quite jarring) quest update pop-ups needs a toggle- or just make it the same as Skyrim.

Add a On/Off toggle option at character creation screen to allow/disallow minor skill level ups to contribute to overall character level up, so I can make it like it was in the original.

That way when I max out or cheese skills like Security, Sneak, Mercantile early (and other non combat skills) the world enemies do not outpace me.

  1. Add more key binding options (like for dodge, quick wheel entries, and a usable select button)
  2. Add more quick wheels you can tab through (like in BG3). Make quick wheel not interrupt your movement/blocking.
  3. Allow favoriting, editing, and deletion of spells.
  4. Spawn in your house (not 100 yards away, Frostcrag Spire spawn is terrible).
  5. Add option to switch LB/LT menu navigation (it throws me off for some reason)
  6. Faster way to open area map. Option to default to that when in a dungeon or city.
  7. Option to have Chameleon activate only when sneaking.

Gameplay Wishlist

  1. Mod capability
  2. Fix janky guard/bounty mechanics (if they didn’t see you commit the crime you shouldn’t get a bounty for it.)
  3. Make max magicka scale up with your level.
  4. Add a dodge roll and 3rd person lock on feature (could be gated behind a skill level like dodge is)
  5. Allow spell damage to benefit from sneak attacks (1.5x?)
  6. Be able to summon friends (I know this is a big ask but it would be sooo much more fun to play with people.)
  7. Shaders/dyes (make Shadowmere’s saddle black plz)
  8. Leave the exploits in the game (it’s inherent to Oblivion).

Can we PLEASE get a QoL update that automatically levels items alongside the players level?
It's super frustrating having to ignore certain quests or locations due to the item being effectively useless once the player levels up some more.

You can add a toggle for it in the gameplay settings for people who don't want it, but I know myself and A LOT of other would really appreciate this change.

after putting in MANY hours, i would like to come back and revise, reiterate and add to the suggestions in which i had made previously, because i genuinely love this game to death and want to see it get improved to increase the longevity of the experience.

  1. i would like to put some emphasis on this. i have played around for the character creator for hours on end trying to see just how in depth it can be and how it compares to the original release. as it stands, i am disappointed. it is IMPOSSIBLE to make young, androgynous looking male characters at ALL, despite that being possible with all races in the original. i just want to recreate the artwork of the races that i see in the character creator, but that's just not possible at the moment. as a temporary solution, perhaps allow us to choose between type 1 or 2 head types separate from the body types. smoother skin texture options, more skin tones or body sliders would also be great, but that's a long term thing, and we need a quick solution.

  2. the shortcut wheel conceptually is great, but it just stopping you dead in your steps just takes me out of the combat. being able to move around OR it just stopping time would make it less frustrating.

  3. there's a lot of performance, screen tearing, crashing and other graphical issues, which i wont go into because y'all likely already know.

  4. options for the hud to make it smaller, change the opacity and the ability to move things around (or have a 'classic' preset) would be great QOL.

  5. having no way to change character appearance after the tutorial is frustrating, especially considering how different your character can look out of the character creator screen.

  6. photo mode! it's 2025 and the game is actually stunning, it's a necessity.

  7. the inventory screen needs to be sorted better, books and scrolls should not be in the same category as keys and miscellaneous items. it's just messy.

Change the alchemy tab to the original so its sorted by tools, ingredients, then potions. It was perfect before it didn't need changed. Its extremely frustrating to sort through it currently.

8. there's a lot of criticism on the difficulty sliders, so let me throw a suggestion into the void. instead of enemies just having more health and doing ridiculous damage, why not do it like this;
base health of enemies remains the same.

  1. animations are a little odd looking, but they dont need massive overhaul, just tweak em a bit and it should be fine.

  2. there's a lot of bugs that just halt quest progress, and having to reload is just frustrating. i fear that doesn't count towards the 'old charm'.

  3. leveled loot adjustment.. as it is, the reward for going out of your way to overcome insurmountable odds and get a powerful item early just isn't worth it because the items are out levelled basically immediately. it's a bit immersion breaking when you find leveled loot stronger than a powerful unique weapon with lore the length of the bible.

  4. better dungeon loot, more random encounters, just more things in general to incentivize exploring and travelling on foot and properly experiencing this beautiful remaster.

  5. spell creation and alchemy screen conveys little information, hard to understand exactly what im meant to do.

Few new issues that have been bugging me and ruining some enjoyment of the game:

  1. Character remains glowing from any enchanted gear i equipped. It should go away after a few seconds of equipping it like in the original.

  2. Enemies stay aggrod wayyyy too long after I’m miles away from them. You have to quick save and reload it for it to take you out of “combat”

  3. The enemy AI is still pretty awful and could use some touching up while still keeping that classic Oblivion feel

  4. Subtitles don’t appear 95% of the time outside of actual dialogue with a specific character

on master two hands and artifacts are utterly useless they need to x4 times more damage to the two hands to be viable the one hands hit 3.5 times faster you can have a shield with extra stats and magical resistances also blocking does a lot of damage and constant stunlock to one boss enemy while the two hand is not even close i added a mod with x4 times more damage and now i feel like they are doing something...
Also i have added 2 mods for artifacts to be able to barely do any damage

Magic can destroy everything especially mixed with alchemy with alchemy you can have anytime you like unlimited mana stamina and health and with magic you simply put weakness to fire frost shock and magic 100% and make another spell which hits for 100 fire and frost and shock and boom you kill everything

In a few words for Master Difficuly:

-Make two hands viable either with attack speed and more damage or A LOT more damage

-Make Artifacts really really strong cause weapons with enchanting will always better at least make the artifacts with similar power.

-Put More Stealth Damage the x3 extra damage even with a daedric bow with daedric arrows and armorer 125 durability does not do anything it needs more damage.

  • In the character creator, when building a Khajiit, I'd lke to be able to color their fur and hair/beard separately from each other. I'd also like different facial hair options for Khajiit, and the option to remove the facial hair entirely.
  • Dual Wielding
  • Finisher animations for melee, archery, and magic.
  • Hardcore/Survival mode where eating and sleeping are mandatory, diseases are harsher, injuries like broken bones can be gained, etc.
  • The ability to purchase camping supplies and set up camp anywhere in the wilderness.
  • The ability to cook meals and bake sweets ala Skyrim.
  • The ability to build your own house/settlement.
  • Please move shield bashing to Journeyman level of Block skill instead of Expert. Sword and shield combat feels incredibly lacking without it, and we shouldn't have to grind Block to unlock it.

DELETE SPELLS! So sad to see this issue from the original return. Spellmaking with no delete option is a disaster for clutter especially when testing out spells, or making more powerful spells making the old ones obsolete and space eaters. That's why Morrowind had the option to delete. Skyrim didn't but that was understandable as it did not have spellmaking.

Increase to 16 hotkey items (double per slot). 8 is just too little for alchemists, mages, bow, swords, torch, etc. Pressing the same slot to switch back and forth from bow to sword would be so much more useful than how it functions now to switch between equipping/unequipping the same item.

Showing number of potions/scrolls on hotkey menu would be useful to know if you are almost empty. Alchemists constantly using poisons without having to press start constantly, etc..

Map add favorite locations ie 10-20 slots. After selecting, map quickly snaps to the location without having to find it or remember where it was. Useful for frequently traveled to locations, etc.

Map add search function for locations discovered if you forget where dungeon, etc was and map will jump to location.

Change local map toggle to a separate button instead of zooming in all the way then pressing trigger is too slow.

Map shortcut key doesn't stay in local map after closing, so have to toggle local again every time re-open, but pressing start does stay in local which defeats the shortcut purpose when indoors since it's slower than pressing start.

Faster vertical scroll in HUD. It's now much slower than the original when holding down left stick. Even though now you can thankfully jump to top or bottom of list from the first or last item, trying to scroll to an item in the middle of the list is a nightmare for alchemists. Or why not add fast scroll with the PS5 touch button by sliding up/down? Having the button only be used for waiting is underwhelming.

Obviously difficulty is a concern. But even an option between adept and expert isn't enough. We need a slider for enemy damage and another for enemy health. Challenge should (imo) come from enemies hitting hard, and not being sponges. Let them kill me fast, and I'll kill them fast.

Item scaling is a problem. A player shouldn't be punished for getting a unique item too early. Make them level up with the player, or just make some easy to get items a static lower level, and harder to get ones a static higher level.

Along with this, better enemy scaling. Make some areas (like with the better items above) have a high minimum level, like Skyrim. Make other areas have a lower max level, so bandits don't match player level for the whole game. Also. No bandits in glass/daedric armor.

Skill leveling rates are improved from OG Oblivion, but need another pass on adjustments. Some like restoration are suddenly super easy to level in this, while other skills take forever.

My initial wants after playing Oblivion for only a few hours so far:
#1. DUAL WIELD please! I played a dual-dagger wielding summoner in Skyrim (and it was such a fun playstyle). I am disappointed to see that I can't dual wield in Oblivion. I hope it will be added.
#2. Shield bash/charge. Bashing and charging with the shield feels so intuitive. I hope it gets added as well.

Okay idea environmental spell effects: Ice, freezes water and now you have a walkway for a few seconds: Fire, leaving scorch marks on both bodies and terrain for a while: Lightning, electrifying water which could damage enemies. I can't think of anymore, but I think that would be awesome!

I know that the repair hammers are in the game, but I would like to suggest there being an option to repair your weapons/armor with similar equipment. Similar to the fallout 3/New Vegas where you can do that.

The way you could be able to do that would be by your repair skill being higher to where you almost don’t need the hammers anymore.

Can we please get the ability to fully control the speed of our player on controller? You’ll be creep walking and then take off like a rocket. It’s 2 speeds only right now and very distracting. And when you’re jumping around and your landing on stuff, it makes it super hard to be precise and you’re always flying off.

Make the jump button tap for a small jump and hold for the biggest jump.

We need more OG elder scrolls hair styles for all races and beards please. New stuff is cool but some classic style is missing.

Can we have an outfit changing option at least one option for armor and one option for regular clothing.

Jumping around in the game seems to be a huge thing even more now lol so it would be awesome especially for a stealth thief or an assassin build if your character would have more movement control when jumping on items or ledges.

It’s be cool if the bald vampire bug could get patched seems like high vampire stages make them all bald. I noticed a few other bugs also.
Chameleon will make characters invisible across all saves sometimes on Xbox-closing the game app and relaunching it fixes it. Also in shivering Isles blocking a lot of enemies T-poses them and they get stuck unable to do anything.

Hi, This is one I haven't heard anyone say, but when you pick/make a class, there is little artwork about your class, (picture of a knight, mage ect.) however it doesn't ever matter because you can never see this artwork ever again in the game after the tutorial.

It would be cool if somewhere on the character page or maybe on the details of your class, you could see this art work to remind you of those choices you made at the beginning. Also if just looks cool.

Got a mod suggestion for both original Oblivion and Remastered.
You know how when you reach a 25 increment value in a skill (Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert, Master), and you unlock the perk, and the notification for that pops up? I'd like to see that notification removed. When afk leveling skills, that notification popping up stops your skill training, because you have to click the "OK" button to continue, which is really annoying when trying to train skils to 100 in a single session as you sleep IRL or are AFK.

Combos enders are unnecessary for Oblivion. 1.2.3 pause. Probably go with a simple continued combo left right Uppercut down slash. Or you could try directional if you can manage it. Loading screens are plenty fast. So fast that when loading a save or going through a door to the next area I almost always see my character flailing their arms as they fall, no doubt as the physics are reset for the new area. I also see, for a second or so, some parts of the screen rendered in lower quality textures/lighting before they are fully baked. My suggestion is delay the loading screen just enough so that we don't see either of these problems.

Loving Oblivion Remastered overall — the new leveling system feels much smoother and more enjoyable than the original. However, I think the current leveling speed might be too fast compared to the game’s world scaling.

After completing only the Mages Guild questline (as well as clearing some forts/caves, and very little else), I reached level 24 in about 30 hours of playtime (on Expert difficulty).
At this point, Daedric armor and weapons are already dropping fairly commonly from enemies.
In the original Oblivion, Daedric typically appeared much later, around level 20, yes, but you only got to level 20 after completing much more of the world’s content.

Issue:
• Leveling faster means you encounter high-tier loot (Daedric, Glass, Ebony) much earlier than intended. This compresses the sense of world progression and makes rare gear feel common too soon.

Suggestion:
Either slow levelling down (however, as it is, the levelling rate is fun, but I am maxed on a few abilities already. Destruction took me about 15 casts from 97-100), or delay gear scaling thresholds, so daedric would appear at 30+ instead of around 20.
Or make high-end gear generally much rarer outside of late-game dungeons/quests, or boss-level enemies.

This would help preserve the original pacing and the excitement of earning rare loot.

If they add a vampire DLC, it would be cool to have different rival vampire clans (like in Morrowind), where vampirism works differently for each clan.

So, for example, one clan/ bloodline could be pure vampire where you can’t ever walk in daylight, but are always really strong/ fast. Another clan is the same as the current Oblivion vampirism (stronger the less you feed). And another clan could be the opposite of that (stronger the more you feed).

Maybe they also have unique powers too - like the ability to transform into an actual bat and fly, or transform into a wolf, or turn into mist and go under doors.

Literally just said that, if Your on PC theres a mod that takes 45 seconds to install (And has different options) called "Fixed Difficulty slider I use the base 1.5x profile expert becomes 1.5x damage taken and 0.83 damage dealt (Instead of the vanillas 3.5x damage taken and 0.28 damage dealt) On a side note some people think the difficulty fair, but I'm guessing they are pros or exploiting the game to some degree (its easy to do that lol, but lowkey boring)

I like the X8 Dagger damage but i think X12 would be a sweet spot for sneak attack. Sometimes the bow with X6 is still better and you dont even have to risk getting close. (this is at sneak lvl 100)

  1. Currently save slots are per new game, however, I think it should be per name / different character. So that if the name changes within a single playthrough, it goes into a new slot in the save menu.

That way people can reload a save right before sewers to start a new character and have that tracked separately without the need to complete the tutorial again.

  1. While people already said many times that subcategories need to be brought back, I think it might be a good idea to also extend them a bit further.

In original Oblivion, everything you wear went into the same category, Apparel. I think it would be great to divide it into armor, clothes and jewellery. Same with weapons — it would be great to be able to have separate subcategories for eg staves, blades, blunt and bows/arrows.

Finally, in misc category it would be great to have scrolls separate from books. They have different use!

And misc could be separated into valuables (pelts, nuggets, pearls and gems), clutter (items that have completely no use for the player other than decoration such as cutlery, bones, cloth pieces) and misc (everything else such as quest items, repair hammers and others).

Those changes will make inventory navigation much easier when you have a lot of items.

  • Please give us the option to slide on better saturation or patch it in. I didn't like the bloom effect of the original Oblivion, but the brown filter is depressing in the remaster for me.
  • The difficulty needs adjusting, like others have suggested.
  • The local map needs fixing.
  • Hopefully the issue with saves being deleted is patched very soon. It's preventing me from purchasing, along with performance issues.

General QoL to the UI, as it is quite the downgrade when compared to the OG;

  • Make the "search" function for containers the default.
  • Active Effects no longer displays certain effects that are granted just for the quest.
  • Please make the UI display Sigil Gem effects, Soul Size, Enchantments etc by default rather than having 3 button presses.
  • There is an odd delay when taking/selling/storing/repairing items that can be circumvented by wiggling the mouse and clicking rapidly.
  • Make E the default "take" option for reading items. As well as let us just click the UI option
  • Let us press E or Spacebar to hit confirmation messages. The current system you have to press Enter or click it.
  • Some spell effects in the Spellmaking Altar (And by extention, buying spells) do not display the skill level needed to cast the spell, and instead show "You do not have enough magicka"
  • Joined with the last one, the "You do not have enough Magicka" message also displays if the cost exceeds the un-boosted max Magicka of 200. If a spell costs 350 Magicka, and you have 500 thanks to enchantments, the spell menu will still tell you that you cannot cast it, despite being able to if you equip it and press C

Make it so that opening the hotkey wheel pauses time until you close it just like it did in the original game.

There's nothing more annoying than the fact that I'm frozen in place while making selections and the enemies are able to keep attacking.

It's to the point where I rarely use the wheel at all now. I'll just take the inconvenience of opening the main menu tabs to pick what I want to use since that does actually pause the gameplay like it's supposed to.

I honestly don't know why you guys changed it. It's a massive quality of life downgrade from the original. Change it back.

Really need a difficulty balance.

Adept is too easy and there is no challenge. I can stand there whilst getting hit multiple times by multiple enemies and not even worry about dying.

Switch to expert and I can get to half of one enemies health before I die or exhaust my potion supple.

There needs to be some sort of balance to expert or and in between difficult adept and expert difficulty.

Really enjoying the game so far but it does ruin the experience that I have to play on adept and there is very little challenged or risk for reward

Visual override for clothing and armor, similar to how it’s done in Cyberpunk or Hogwarts Legacy. It can be implemented like this: when a player finds an item in the game, it unlocks that item’s visual override, which can then be applied to the currently equipped gear. Also, add the ability to hide equipped items, especially helmets.

Oblivion Skip Dialogue with circle/back button in addition to only X like OG Oblivion. Small detail but huge long-term annoyance when trying to quickly exit out of dialogue and have to remember to hit X first then circle before backing out.

Oblivion Change column sorting in HUD with left/right dpad without having to toggle triangle first, as it breaks the flow and is pointless since switching submenus is done by the triggers now instead of left/right dpad on original Oblivion.

Triangle first would only make sense if left/right dpad was still used to switch submenus like OG. So why the need to hit triangle in the first place? Just one extra step that is not needed.

Oblivion Prioritize NPC bartering/spells/repair/training tiles to be first tiles on left before persuade. ie How many times will you click bartering with a merchant vs persuade?
Again, small detail but long-term annoyance. If the NPC is not a merchant but just a trainer, then training should be first before persuade, etc.

Oblivion Use triggers like OG to scale quantity, useful when dropping/selling items with a large quantity. Only allows L1/R1 buttons to go from first to last.

I understand that there can be no talk of voice acting, but maybe you can add subtitles? Change how difficulty scaling works, maybe with new sliders. I was playing on expert and at the epic conclusion of a certain questline, really struggling in the final fight, when the boss I’m fighting gets like 3 shotted by the boar helping me. Seems like you receive more damage and deal less while NPCs still do the same amount of damage to each other, making their fights much quicker.

Oh, and give spider daedra their double D’s back 😔🙏

Just adding to the consensus, would love if the difficulty options were adjusted!

Adept is too easy, but the jump to expert is way too high with the enemy damage increase and reduction of player damage.

Ideally, I think the best solution is to give the players two sliders so they can customize their own preference for player and enemy damage. The presets right now (Novice / Apprentice / Adept / Expert / Master) have far too large of gaps between them.

The problem with the OG Oblivion difficulty slider was it was ambiguous what notches on the slider were what multiplicative values. Simply communicating that on a slider could fix a lot.

Please re-work leveled items so we don’t have to look up countless questions online to avoid certain quests until we are a high enough level. I’m constantly googling things so I don’t pick up a weapon too soon and make it obsolete after a few levels.

Second issue that no one is talking about is the blood effects on Xbox series x (that’s the only platform I play on and I don’t know if this is an issue on other consoles but in PC gameplay it looks normal) The blood effects from hitting an enemy are extremely ghosted and smeared and look horrible compared to gameplay shown on PC.

You get the additional armor bonus if you are wearing an incomplete set of light armor, or even if you mix heavy armor in.

I can't confirm whether the heavy armor perk is also not working correctly.

Hi! I would love to see the navmesh revisited. I've seen lots of issues with pathing, and specifically issues with pathing when enemies are alerted but haven't detected you yet. The Visual bugs are making me go insane. Characters staying see through after invisibility wears off, chatacter looking visually on fire just because your bow is enchanted with fire damage, Vision blocked by persistent magical glows from enchanted armor, it is so annoying. It kills all immersion for me. That is my only Complaint about the Remaster. Are they gonna fix that? Please tell me they will... because I can't play with this. Orcs/Orsimer got severely neglected in the remaster.

  • Give Orcs options for black and darker colored hair again (they literally can only have light colored hair in the character creation).

  • Let Orcs have their bigger size and taller models back. (As well as Nords and High Elves who got reduced as well).

  1. Uncap the 100 for both skills and attributes. Or - render races to have variable caps. Orc should not become as intelligent as elf/breton. And without the cap or with the cap elevated, one can focus on a very narrow set of skills. This can allow better and more roleplaying. Lore focused.
  2. Make different races and classes to have faster/slower progression in given skills. Lore focused.
  3. Consider the option of auto growth of attributes with respective skills progression.
  4. Oblivion can strongly benefit from perks as in FNV or Skyrim.

There’s moments you can’t see your current carrying weight when picking up new items so you don’t know you’ll be over encumbered unless you do the math ahead of time which is fine it would just be easier if you could see it go up while picking up items

It would be really helpful if, after discovering the shrines used for the Knights of the Nine DLC, we could fast travel to them. Making the pilgrimage (or repeat pilgrimages) less tedious and helping the journey feel a bit smoother without taking away from the spirit of the quest. I would like the map hotkey to return you to the local map instead of the world map if you were previously zoomed in to the local/interior map. I'd like to request that the devs remove console commands disabling achievements.

In many of these games at some point a bug will occur and the player will have to either revert back to a previous save or use a console command to progress forward. I don't think the player should be punished in this single player setting for using a feature that's intended to help them navigate whatever issues that may arise.

Reponse to @zealous ferry: I wouldn't mind an icon being there, but then that begs the question of what's considered fair and how do you account for that? Is it unfair for a player to use a command to progress a bugged quest? To want to change their class or race from their original without altering or inflating any skills or stats? I'm not a dev so I wouldn't know where to draw the line, but I think ultimately in order to not hurt players who are trying to remain as legitimate as possible it is best if no line is drawn as it is a single player game. Achievements only have merit and worth in the eyes of those who value it and each person values their own accomplishments differently.

I think the ability to remove spells is important since you can add so many custom spells. After a while the old spells clog the UI.

Also changing spells from the quick menu wheel should pause the game. Changing spells mid combat is hard without needing to go to the full magic menu.

Suggestion: can we get an increase the distance that NPCs can start looking for you or detect you?

Sometimes I’m shooting a fireball at an NPC and the NPC ten feet away from my target is just chillin while I fight the guy.

The biggest issue I have with Oblivion is how lifeless the world feels (outside of the cities). I'm not sure if this could realistically be changed in the remaster, but I would really miss Colovian and Nibenese villages, as well as a few more castles.

I think the only true example of an Imperial village in the game is Hackdirt, and considering that Cyrodiil is the homeland of the Imperials, I really miss having more settlements like that.

The arena experience would be vastly improved if you were called via courier every in-game week or so to defend your claim as the Grand Champion of the Arena. We know the Gray Prince had to defend his title, so we should too. Make the opponents really difficult (player level +10?) and the pay high.

As great as the arena is, a constant challenge to maintain our claim as Grand Champion would be great. Additionally, it would mean we would have to revisit that part of the game and it could never be “complete” so to speak.

The delay for Magicka regen after casting a spell needs to be removed, this was not present in the original version of Oblivion and fundamentally ruins the gameplay for non-Atronach mage characters, and makes the willpower attribute pointless.

Because of the delay for magicka regen:

-There is no point in choosing a class other than Atronach if you are going to play pure mage, this is because all birthsigns now have “stunted magicka’ while in combat.

-Leveling the willpower attribute is pointless because you will still have 0 regeneration of magicka while doing damage.

-Combat with magic is now clunky and time-consuming since you will now spend more time out of combat waiting for magicka to regen than actually doing damage with magic.

Alchemy filters are clunky. Since you can’t experiment much select an ingredient and auto filtering for other ingredients in your inventory with matching known effects would be great.

Also the magic menu is very limited. Being about to sort by spell discipline, favorite spells, and having more hot keys would be fantastic. Bleeding hotkeys to = would give us four more bindings.

  1. Alchemy UI is really poor, at least it is on console. Very clunky to use. Sorry, I know that's not great feedback - I need to post again later when I've played some more. Also, can the alchemy equipment be "stickied" at the top of the potion/ingredients menu? Because otherwise it gets buried in the list of ingredients.

  2. Looting UI needs to have your inventory side by side like the OG. Because getting to your own now requires you show details, which then allows you to swap to your own inventory, and then hide details. It's not very intuitive and feels like to many button presses.

Lock or reset the mouse cursor when opening menus

Currently, when opening any menu, the mouse cursor is not where it was left because it moves invisibly during gameplay. This is annoying, as it takes extra time to find and move it where it’s needed.

I suggest either:

  • Locking the cursor position when exiting the menu, or
  • Resetting the cursor to the center of the screen when opening a menu.

Please fix the glitch in the Ultimate Heist quest, which prevents you from being able to reattempt stealing the Elder Scroll if you get caught by the guards or moth priests.

Currently, if you get caught, the door from both sides of the guards room becomes locked and there is no key that will open them. The only way to reattempt it is to return to a previous save, which can be many hours prior if you don't pick up on this quickly (due to autosaves).

This issue existed in the original game from what I've read online, and is also in the remaster.

Grabbing items is absolutely broken. OG-Oblivion I grabbed items to decorate my house etc. The new grab function is horrible and blasts items across the room when trying to hold it half the time. Should also have way to click L3 or something to rotate the item while it's grabbed.

Some bugs I've noticed:

  1. When fov is set to 100 the Shrouded Armor left shoulder clips into screen.

  3. Some swords aren't connected to the players hip in 3rd person. Just floating nearby
  4. Player shadow is only their equipped items in first person. But full in 3rd person as if the model doesn't exist when we are in 1st person

Melee and bows need a damage buff. Magic can do upwards of 2000 damage on Master mode if you know what you’re doing, melee/bows caps closer to 100 on a power attack. Also, a health sponge-yness fix for enemies in Expert and Master is needed too. Dagger stealth damage buff is nice, but not enough too.

There is an issue with PC that some people are experiencing where setting the x and y look sensitivity to 100 still does not make the look speed fast enough. I've had to resort to using a third party app to increase the speed for quality of life while playing. Fixing this issue would be nice.

Don't know if it's been suggested already but I know I've seen it mentioned a lot online that many folks would prefer a less realistic and a more higher saturated Oblivion colour palette similar to the original game and indeed there are already a lot of mods out there attempting to replicate such.

So it would probably be nice for those people if you could implement a toggle for "Nostalgic and Realistic" colour palettes so satisfy both crowds.

Please make Hand to Hand even more viable. Y'all are so close. It's almost there. But if you go against more than 1 enemy it's usually game over.

I accept that fights will take a little longer and in trading some damage for fatigue damage, but it's still a struggle sometimes.

With my bracers, I'm at like 77 Hand to Hand currently. There are moments where I find myself needing to take out Chillrend, with my 17 blade skill, just because I need to kill enemies faster. There shouldn't be that much of a discrepancy imo.

One thing I find very distracting is facial animations between dialogue lines seem have a new jarring transition, where they breifly switch back to a neutral expression between lines which I feel hurts line delivery.
I feel it would look better behaving like the original game, where the assigned expression for the line is held until the next line begins. I feel that would be far less jarring

I just wanted to elaborate on my Oblivion Dating sim idea. after playing BG3 I really started to enjoy the concept of love affairs and complicated feelings on my journey. P.S my wife says she will play oblivion when they add astarian as a love interest. but I digress. I think it would be cool to add a new city to oblivion that you do side quests to Build up, by collecting Farm tools/items to give to the beggers/people of the land kind of like in Breath of Fire 2's Township sub quests. i figure it could start off by the Player finding some land that he can Grow anything on if it's enchanted properly/ unlock side quests, build the Farm, Enchant the farm, Build a house, establish a trade route, settlers move in, houses get built, add Eligible Bachlers to the Town with well written Fan fic style backgrounds. I'm sure you got some girls on your staff who have written Erotic Fan fiction who would jump at the chance. especially if each person who moves in adds a Monster Side quest or is secretly a Monster themselves. one of which A Daedra princess looking to sabotauge the hero who now has a Home Base. a princess you can Woo, or becomes a vicious Enemy. maybe she can poison your food after leaving great Edible Food buffs at your house, a real home cooked cookies style girl. you could do things like Drink antidotes and tell her, her cookies were delicious she's a great cook. adding your Own Individual game into the the Game as a update. this could allow the player to Craft their own Companion love interest to take the journey with, or go it alone making it more personal and rememberable. i really think something like that would breath a lot of love into the game, and Writing the story wouldn't be hard at all just Open up a Character/erotic fan contest explain the idea to the community and you got enough moders you could probably have something special in a matter of weeks.

Make enemy archers less accurate! It feels like they have aimbot as is.

Add an option for one-button-dodge. The whole point of dodging is to quickly zip around enemies. Making that a 2 input procedure ruins the point. You can't play like a proper rogue.

Allow/add dual wielding. A mage with only one spell in hand is a sorry sight.

Add a horse summon. I bought a horse and now I have no idea where TF it is

Idea for Re-Scaling Leveled Unique Items:

My simple suggestion is for some kind of object like an enchanting table/spellmaker where you pay a certain amount of money to transform a leveled unique item, like Chillrend, for example, from it’s lower level version to the version that is scaled with the player’s level. This way if you get Chillrend at level 5, you can upgrade it to the level 25 version later when you are lvl 25 or higher and have enough gold.

Add a Face Sculptor similar to the woman found in The Ragged Flagon in Skyrim or some type of barber/hair system. You could access this either through an object (for example a mirror) or npc.

If possible also a reclass system would be great too. 🙂

Bugs:

  • Vampires are bald.
  • Local guards are still aggro'd after I pay off my bounty through the thieves guild if they are actively pursuing me, and will continue to pursue me even after the bounty is paid.
  • I know the "Wait a minute let me do that one again" voice line was probably left in on purpose, but it's immersion-breaking.
  • Reading books and viewing inventories without actually stealing anything aggro's NPCs
  • Neville is instantly hostile to me for no reason in the whodunnit quest
  • I was near the border of Elsweyr and got the "You cannot go that way. Turn back" notification, but now it won't go away and it keeps reappearing no matter where I go.
  • Some NPCs sit or lie down in mid-air, next to their chairs or beds.

Suggestions:

  • Make the transferring items from the player's inventory into containers more intuitive and accessible.
  • More variation in the OST (New soundtracks in addition to the ones that already exist)
  • Don't make sleeping a requirement for leveling up.
  • Retweak vampirism to be more balanced. At the moment, sun damage is too strong and inconvenient to make roleplaying as a vampire enjoyable.
  • Something similar to the Riften Face-Sculptor that allows you to change appearance mid-game.
  • More random/radiant events/encounters.
  • Kill-Cam animations
  • Dual-wielding one-handed weapons.
  • Reduce/remove requirements for shield bashing
  • A hearthfire-style expansion with the ability to marry NPCs and/or adopt children.
  • A questline to rebuild Kvatch and become the count.
  • An official modding framework for this game like the Creation Kit.
  • A program to automatically "port" mods from the original Oblivion, or at least those which make use of vanilla scripts and assets.

Skyrim's dual wield spells were a big game changer for mage players, with two options for equipped spells and a power/shout. Oblivion's is considerably more restrictive. My suggestion is to be able to cast spells by using the appropriate hotkey they're assigned to in the hotkey menu. Not just swapping them over to the actively equipped spell. For controller it could be holding rb and using one of the face or d-pad keys to cast

More Analogue movement speed for controller inputs would be awesome.
Currently there are only two regular movement speeds instead of a full range, so on controller the character jankily shifts from running and walking depending on how far the stick is pressed. a more granular range of character speed like later games would be greatly appreciated, and be a great way to manage how cartoonishly fast a player character can become if not leveled carefully.

  • Local map needs to be automatic in dungeons/buildings/smaller areas. So any dungeon or building and areas like the Arcane University,market district, cities, etc should open the local map by default. OR make it at toggle rather than a zoom feature.

    -Bring back inventory subcategories
    -Make a way to upgrade leveled gear. For example if I get Chillrend at lv1 I should be able to upgrade it,with either gold or soul stones, to my current level bracket as I go

Suggestion. People stop and remember Oblivion runs on the Gamebryo engine a 20 year old engine. Not Skyrims Creation engine. And the only reason we don't have to equip magic in Oblivion is because there is no dual wielding. Be realistic.

Suggestion. Do not turn the game into Skyrim. Let mods do that if its gonna happen at all.

think the thing that’s great for this remaster is that in maintains the nostalgia of the original game while bringing it forward into a newer era. in my mind, additions that would be great would be small to medium sized changes that make the game feel like the memory did, while accounting for the tech limitations at the time. two “easier” things jump to mind:

  • cloaks / capes: having a backslot item that gives the ability to put on a cloak or a cape feels, to me, very in line with the original game, while still being a new and welcome addition.
  • starfield-like radiant city NPCs: NPCs to fill out the cities and make them feel more lively would be a great change. just enough to make the streets feel populated and the world thriving.

as an aside - i also think that given how well virtuos did with the remake as a whole, there are opportunities for larger, DLC like additions. one that springs to mind is the one that people have been asking for since the game dropped: let us rebuild kvatch. maybe a questline surrounding the rebuild, maybe integrating some of skyrim’s home building mechanics (if that feels right in the moment), maybe the player can become the count. i think a larger addition like this would be an incredible addition and maintain the spirit of the game.

There's currently a visual bug if you equip gauntlets or boots with robes they will initially be properly tucked in underneath your robes as they were in the original game, however upon loading into a new cell they will pop out of the robes with awful clipping until you equip them again.

I'm sure it's somewhere in this thread already, but please allow some way for artifacts / unique rewards to have their level updated. I always feel like I need to wait on certain quests until I'm at a high level to get the best reward.

I like that the Knights of the Nine gear can be upgraded by putting it on and taking it off the display stand. Maybe something similar for all artifacts.

Or a simple "soul binding" station at the mages guild where you can use a soul gem to update your weapon/gear to match your current level.

• Would love a way to recustomize character after leaving the sewers, even if it's just hair. Maybe a mirror in Frostcrag Spire since it's baked in, now?

It's just modern quality of life nowadays, and we can't use console commands to do it on consoles.

• Second, would really enjoy seeing the Imperial Watch/Palace Guard armor be made playable.

I love Legion armor aesthetic in Oblivion and that armor has always slapped. Looks even better in the remaster.

• Third, some slight tweaks to enemy health on level scaling since it's so much easier to level now. These bois are spongy af at 20+.

Only a few suggestions for me. First I'd like to see a custom difficulty toggle which pops up two sliders one being a damage taken slider and a damage dealt slider, this could put the difficulty in player hands without mods. Secondly is the obvious mod support, I play console so would love to be able to mod at some point. Third and fourth would be a stable for all our horses, and a face sculptor since those became a thing in Skyrim so we can adjust our characters.

Really really enjoying the remaster so far, few suggestions from a few days of playing:

  1. Fix the difficulty sliders, going from adept to expert is a huge increase in difficulty.
  2. When in a dungeon, it would make sense for the default map to be the local map rather than the world map that then needs to be zoomed in.
  3. Bow sneak attacks should deal 3x damage, but numerous instances of them only doing 1x damage have been noted. Not sure if there is a genuine reason for this or if its a bug.
  4. Allow character customisation after leaving the sewers, even if just to update hair / facial hair.
  5. Enemies do not give up chasing you, which i think may have been a feature in the original oblivion but would be better if they gave up after a certain distance, especially for stealth builds.
  6. Addition of some new clothing options, hats, capes etc.
  7. Extra NPCs in cities, even generically named ones, just to create a livelier, more populated feel within towns and cities
  8. When riding a horse, the name pop up of the horse should be disabled, it currently keeps popping up anytime you aim the cursor over the horse

Two handed weapons imo need a comprehensive balancing across the board. Especially with claymores, the new animations slow attack speed leads to terrible dps compared to the longsword which swings it seems 2 to 3 times faster and only does 1 to 2 less damage leading to the longsword being superior in all combat scenarios plus having the option of a shield. Please fix this if you can, even it just means buffing the damage on two handed weapons.

Hello all! Here are my two cents. Not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread yet or not, but can't hurt to say it again if so.

PLEASE add better ultrawide support for PC! My monitor is 5120x1440, but I'm locked at 3840x1080 resolution, with no way of changing it in the menu, there are no other options for resolution in the drop down menu. And changing the .ini file didn't seem to fix it.

Also if we could get a setting to make the HUD elements 21:9 or 16:9, while keeping the game in ultrawide, that would be great. Lots of game already do that and it's super useful!

Also, more options for keybinds remapping, specifically for the ENTER and ESC keys, which are used frequently but are not close to where my fingers rest naturally when using k&m, especially the ENTER key.

Also, the DLSS option was removed with the latest patch, and that sucks a bit because it was helping run the game smoothly for me (3080ti, if it matters).

Really loving the game so far, was an OG player back in the day and throughout the past decades. I really want to see this game do well, and I know it's on the right track already! Merci les devs et force a vous!

  • Remove "You have successfully harvested..." messages (HUD options?)

  • Periods of no music (see silent music track mods). This innocuous change is a complete game-changer, and I dare say that it's objectively better. You don't know what you're missing until you try this. THIS IS MY BIGGEST WISH.

  • Difficulty: Adept-ish damage to both NPCs and player. I like short and impactful combat, but it should go both ways. I don't wanna be a damage sponge either.

  • A button to simply zoom in, like many other games have. Yes, just a button bind that zooms while being held. Like the Marksman zoom perk, but without a bow. To scour the horizon.

Xbox player here. Please allow us to use the D-pad to activate hotkey items on the fly like in the original Oblivion. Having to use left bumper and selecting them with the stick, while not a huge deal, feels clunky. Especially during combat while trying to activate several spells in succession or drink a quick potion for example.

  • Option for combat music to be silence. Very tense, and works very well with "periods of no music" above.

  • Even slightly faster projectiles. It's 1400 now. Twice might be good. Makes combat more dangerous.

  • Basic needs to incentivize hunting and making food for oneself. Diseases, etc. Not full blown survival.

  • Horse whistle (summons horse).

  • Horse saddle (helps deal with looting dungeons).

  • In-game free-form notebook.

  • Slightly longer nights (timescale options).

The title Screen sucks. It's just the promo artwork reused. Please change it to something more similar to the original title screen with the map moving in the background.

In past Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, the B button was used to bring up the menu. Here, it's stuck on the Start button. The best you can do is put one of the menu hot keys on the B button, but those will always start out on one of the menus specifically and won't remember which one you left off on. Make the regular menu button assignable please.

The use of the bumpers and triggers in the menus is backwards from how it should be. The bumpers are supposed to change submenus, and the triggers are supposed to change the side of the screen you are using. This makes navigating menus annoying and I can't stand to play the game right now because of it.

Please add larger text size for the menus. The largest size is still too small.

Option to change the HUD layout to be how it was in the original game and also stay on screen at all times.

Option to disable the middle view in the view mode toggle. It's annoying to have to press the button twice to get back to first person mode.

Areas already discovered still show up on the screen when you go to them. This is annoying. The location name should be small and appear in the top left corner on repeat visits at worst, or an option to turn that off on repeat visits at best.

The names of far off locations appearing under the compass is very annoying and distracting. There should be an option to turn it off.

When over-encumbered, the game constantly flashes on the screen that you are over-encumbered. I think the fact you're moving so slow is good enough indication to know you're carrying too much stuff. There should at least be an option to turn it off.

Hi all,

Wanted to call attention to something that I’m not sure is getting much due to being console-specific.

In the original Oblivion on Xbox, the hotkey menu was mapped to the d-pad. You could select spells or items with one button press and you could do so freely while moving in any direction.

In Oblivion Remastered not only is this not available, but opening the new hotkey menu causes you to stop moving and, as far as I can tell, unable to perform any actions until you select a hotkey. Also, unlike Skyrim, the game doesn’t pause during this, so you are truly forced to vulnerably stay still for a second while you select your hotkey.

I understand the change was likely done to accommodate sprint needing a dedicated button, but perhaps sprint can be mapped to some other kind of input (double tapping a stick forward maybe?). I just mean to have this as a configuration option, not the default, as it is a significant downgrade in the quality of the controls for magic-centric characters. Thank you!

I have a suggestion for Races/Birthsigns.

Currently, classes are centered around early game bonuses and levelling. Birthsigns are all over the place when it comes to being centered around early/late game and races are (mostly) centered around late game with some certain early game bonuses (like their starting skills/attributes.)

The problem with races is that all of them get a unique bonus (whether that be disease, poison immunity, magicka bonus, etc.) Except for Khajiit and Imperial.
I think Imperial having no end game bonus is fine as they're a jack of all trades, but Khajiit could possibly do with an unarmed bonus (similar to skyrim)

Argonians also feel a little strong when compared with the bosmer/redguards for their specific traits (disease/poison immunity) but so be it.

Now for birthsigns...I think they should just have end game bonuses instead of being all over the place. Raising an attribute with a birthsign is useless as you can max out attributes either way through levelling I think the atronach, apprentice, mage, and lord birthsigns are good. But the others just granting powers/attributes are completely useless when it comes to end game. I think its fine if they have attribute raising properties, but don't only do that. For example you can have the Lady boost those attributes but also add a fatigue bonus that you wouldn't otherwise be able to get

2 things I would love to see that may not be that hard to implement:

I am a big fan of more historically informed armors in the game and I especially love the chainmail plated armor. I however would love if it would be possible to restore the original helmet which was a lot taller and pointier.

Additionally, I would like if it would be possible to bring back more of the lamellar rows in the Orcish armor. The 3 ones at the waist from the original got removed and the two on the shoulders are now basically almost entirely covered by the large shoulder pads and chest disc plate. Given the strong central asian influence and the prevalence of lamellar armor in the reigon, I think it would add a lot to maintain that aesthetic, especially to diversify the armor types away from just western european plate armor.

The chainmail change would also make it viable for people wishing to cosplay more middle-eastern inspired redguards since the plated model of chainmail was popular historically in the region and the original game's more tall and pointy helmet variant would also support that.

Only suggestion I have so far are:

Adjust Difficulty Settings - Adept is too easy, Expert and Master are too difficult. The scaling is completely off, mostly in regards to how little damage you deal to enemies on anything above adept. Enemies become very spongey as a result which isn't fun.

Improve Performance - Hopefully this is already in the works but currently performance is really bad even on high end PC's with overall poor framerates even at lower settings, mostly in the overworld. Frame time pacing is all over the place with frequent stuttering. Also there is really bad ghosting, especially on weapon swing animations. I've also had several crashes.

Journal Keybinds don't close the Journal - By default keybinds F1-F4 open shortcuts to Journal tabs such as Character and Inventory etc. These key-binds do not also close the Journal if it's already open, forcing you to press Tab or close with the mouse. This is minor but it would be a nice quality of life change if a second press would close the Journal.

  1. Allow further sorting in the Inventory UI. For inventory, sub categories such as keys, books, ingredients, potions, alchemical apparatus. The alchemy and misc often has a lot of time sorting through.

  2. Magic UI, adding the ability to to hide spells, and create a favorites tab to further increase the amount of spells you’ll switch between easily beyond the 8 slots you get in the favorite UI in game.

  3. bug fix: when using the sort feature, it often glitches and won’t tab through alphabetical/weight/type etc.

The shortcut wheel. It's an amazing addition, but just a couple small things would go a long way to improving it.

Like adding additional ones you can flip through. That way I can make one scroll wheel of potions, one scroll wheel of spells and one scroll wheel of weapons. Also, pausing the game when you bring up the scroll wheel would be nice. It wouldn't be gamebreaking since pausing into the menu functions exactly the same.

The only thing i really missing while traversing the dungeons of Oblivion is followers. I really liked using them as walking storage and they made repetative grind much funnier.

The Dark Brotherhood initiatives and some other nameless NPC's are just plain and boring and require to complete questlines. One of the biggest mod out there is companion Vilja. I would literally buy mod even for 20$+.

While Vilja is literally the grandma of all much loved followers mods for Skyrim and means a lot to old Oblivion fans, i would be happy to see any decent companion added. But Vilja is iconic lowkey.

After some time with the game I think that adding some new mechanics/animations like dualwielding, lycantrophy or horse combat is out of the question sadly but there are some things that could be done:

  1. Better UI with categories (seriously annoying when you have a lot of potions and ingridients in inventory, or spell scrolls along misc items)

  2. First person horse riding

  3. Fast travel option directly to our house (as far as I know the only house that works that way is in Imperial City because it is outside of it)

First, performance. The game runs awfully for a two full decades old game, I think they overdid the graphics. Some objects have broken normals like the stalactites in caves and the shield dancing around the bow is still there two decades later. The bugs when some npcs fail to travel because they got stuck in a house is still there. And if I'm picky I prefer a physical release. Not a partial "download the rest of the game" disk, a fully functional install physical release. And if you're planning to do the same to Skyrim and fallout 3/4 , I'm game for all of them. And I would like for a fallout 1/2/tactics remade with current gen graphics, bugs and all.

As a console player (and someone who played the 2006 Oblivion to death) who can't mod my problems away, I have some thoughts and suggestions:

  • Please make it so bandits and the like aren't decked out in Daedric armor at higher levels. Or at least not all of them and just the bosses. Outside of Oblivion (the realm) it should be a rare sight. It's silly when a highwayman tries to rob me for 100 gold like he's starving when everything he's wearing is worth literal thousands.

  • I'd also like to see lower tier enemies not disappear from the game entirely just because the player has leveled up too many times. Scamps, clanfear, etc. should still exist even if I've outleveled them, along with the higher tier enemies.

  • Please add in some in-game method to level up the levelled quest item rewards similar to how you can do so already with the relics of the Crusader with its armor stand. It sucks getting something cool you want to build around early game but it becoming very underpowered or even useless later when you reach higher levels. The alternative of having to wait until you're level 20+ just to get the good version of a cool thing you want to use is not fun. You've probably played most of the game by then already, or you're stuck power leveling and grinding and breaking the natural curve of progression.

  • Also a way to edit your appearance would be nice, like the face sculptor in Skyrim or something similar.

  • Lastly, please adjust the various hood colors to better match the outfits they go with. The hoods tend to be noticeably darker and it looks bad.

  1. Improving screenspace refections, they go weird when you have your weapon out and when you look down. I know it's an engine issue, as Skyrim is the same, but it's ugly.

  2. Give me an option to turn off the horrible filter and bring back the original colours. There's a reason that the LUT mods are the most popular for Starfield, and the first mod out the gate for Oblivion was a colour mod. We hate these 'cinematic' brown filters.

I've been playing oblivion since day one.

I have also played the remaster and finished all the dlc and side quests.

  • Invisibility is broken, the character is randomly naked or shows only a head.
  • Chameleon 100% doesn't work randomly
  • Oblivion gates randomly appear after sewers
  • UI sometimes breaks and going into the menu resets and places you in another asset.
  • after 20 years I would of expected the map to be able to be moved with the right stick on controller rather than guided by the cursor
  • performance issues need sorting, memory leaks everywhere, especially using destruction spells of conjuring.
  • Fix steam deck performance even if it means limited cells, which to 90% of people they won't notice.
  • Some textures could do with optimising, literally just shaving off some data.
  • A nice suggestion would be a graphical setting to enable old colour scheme to oblivion, like the new one is to "warm"
  • Doors say you are "breaking" in when you aren't. This sometimes bugs NPCs shouting get out but it's mid day and on the original all is fine, you can even speak to them and they act like nothings up.

Bro this is all freaking preference, the game needs to figure out how to fix its difficulty scaling, I’m either one shotting everything on Adept, or taking 10 years to kill one mob in Expert, More Health Does not = More Difficulty, this is tedious either make it so that I don’t get my damage nerfed so hard on the higher difficulties or ease up on the health scaling for these enemies. I love the game but man this sucks right now.

My main suggestion which I'm sure has been said a thousand times: Tweak the difficulty scaling. On Adept, you 2-3 shot everything and take little to no damage. On Expert, everything 2-3 shots you, and you do little damage to them.

My second suggestion which is probably too grand, but I've wanted it since I was a kid. For Kvatch to be rebuilt after the oblivion crisis is over. It is such an interesting town, and even had a second arena, but it remains a smoldering pile for the rest of your playthrough. There are towns in the game that rebuild after being destroyed for a quest, such as the goblin invasion one.

Id love to have an option to make the hotkey wheel function the way it did in the original, with a single input d pad press. Menu shortcuts are nice but not at the cost of having the item wheel be 2 seperate inputs that feels awkward and clunky to use mid combat.

Also a quicker way to bring the local map up on controller would be nice. A single button press instead of having to hold the trigger down then press it again.

On console it's really annoying scrolling through the inventory.

On PC you can grab the wheel and move fast, but on console you press down and it starts slow then gradually gets fast. Having to do this every 2 minutes does begin to get annoying. It would be nice if there was an additional button or function that made it faster to scroll. Like, even just making it so the Left Stick moved the scroll bar up and down immediately and the D-Pad kept it's function.

Same thing with the character creation screen. In Elden Ring you could press R1 or L1 to move the sliders at 10 intervals rather than 1. Maybe since those buttons are used for something else, we can keep the same idea I had with the Left Stick where the Left Stick moved the sliders fast (by 10) and the D-Pad moved the sliders by 1, as it currently does. If you spend a lot of time trying to make characters like I do, this does get really annoying.

I’d like to be able to visually see my character lie down on a bed to simulate sleeping, for role playing purposes, without being taken to a screen where I have to select how much time I want to pass. After a long day of adventuring, I like to get back to my modest home, remove my armor, sit by the fire, then go to bed. Like I said, actually being able to see my character just lie there in bed and let time pass naturally would be wonderful.

Thank you for this amazing remaster. There are a few things that would make it even better. The most important things:

Please remove the brown tint,

Can you make the trees a bit more lush? (we don't need to see every single leaf)

Can you fix the main problems with level scaling? (Quest rewards should remain useful, normal enemies should still spawn, not every single npc should become a god of a warrior when you reach level 50, etc.). Maybe there could be safer areas (along the roads) and dangerous areas

Can you fix some janky/unnatural facial expressions?

Now, for Morrowind, I think a full remake is better, I hate how many swings does it take to land a single hit during the first 30 hours, Morrowind is my favourite elder scrolls but just imagining starting over, if you're planning on it, please upgrade the rng aspect on melee. Also, it may be a minor thing but please consider adding a button to togle local and world map. And also consider a dedicated button for reading a book or note instead of just picking it up.   1. I would love to see a survival mode implemented: need food, need sleep, limit fast travel.

  2. Local map could be more easily accessed. I think the original oblivion remembered which map type you last used and opened that by default.

  3. Alchemy would be less tedius if you could filter out effects for which you have only one ingredient. I often find myself scrolling through the effects and choosing one only to find I can't make a potion because I only have one ingredient with that effect.

  4. There's a big leap in difficulty between adept and expert. I find adept too easy and expert frustrating.

  5. I would love a way to respec my character. I'm currently playing a stealth character, but I would like to try a combat character while trying the fighter's guild storyline.

I think you need to adjust the hit box. I’m dodging like Neo in the matrix and these enemies are still hitting me a lot and they are not touching me.

When you start swinging your sword or whatever, it takes too long to bring up your shield and react. It’s like you’re locked into the swing animation.

The power attacks don’t feel right you feel too locked into it. You need to be able to adjust.

After a few hours in, my biggest Oblivion suggestions are ui tweaks like subcategories for alchemy. Scrolling all the way through a hundred ingredients and potions to find my novice mortar and pestle is a bit of a hassle.

Auto sorting ingredients with shared affects like the old oblivion would be helpful as well. Sorting through individual affects certainly adds on a lot of time compared to the old way.

D-pad for quickselecting items would be better imo than lb+joystick. I'm not sure if that’s something I can map to my control scheme?

Being able adjust font size would also be pretty great for some of the smaller menu text. There’s a lot of space for things like gold and carry weight to occupy but they’re still teeny tiny numbers.

Oh, and maybe chill out on the location name popping up everytime I walk across an individual fort. Maybe add in a hidden cooldown for that to pop up.

And fewer or less obtrusive 'apparel broken' popups.

I would love for sneaking to remember your walk/run status separately when playing on keyboard. As it is, to sneak optimally I have to hit Ctrl to crouch and then Caps Lock to toggle off running. 1.5k hours in ocer the years, here is my wishlist

  1. Customize appearance after the sewers, we all have saved at the exit cause the lighting changes, we see our characters in different light or different ways.

  2. Let us delete spells.

  3. Add physics back to the lamp in the arena, we need our victory bonk.

  4. Put porkchop the pig back in the prep area if he survives the champion battle.

  5. Add a quest Whispered Warning where we can spare loyal sithis members in the purification.

  6. Way more hair and beard styles, all khajit have a beard without choice currently.

  7. Why can I only put 1 point of luck in per level up. If you don't realise this early you end up stuck.

  8. Leave dupe glitches and quirks od that sort in the game please.

  9. Currently, there's a big thought amoung players to hit level cap for loot early, so we don't end up with draws full of weak questions rewards we will never use.

  10. Spells level up per cast not, how luch magicka is used.

  11. Above all else, don't change the faithful aspects of the game. The difficult setting is janky yes but it's Oblivion.

  12. Let us summon the ghost of Lucien Lachancr as a dark brotherhood end reward so we can have Wes Johnson as a companion.

  13. Let us get access to all clothing and armour somehow, emperors robes, Amulet Of Kings replica, unique armors etc.

  14. Vampirism could do with a tweak, the sun damage and hate you get make it not really worth it.

  15. Edit character after the sewers.

  • Make it easier to sort item types, its annoying going through the alchemy tab at the moment and needs changes

-Show my carry weight when looting or have both player inventory pop up along with looting inventary as the default (how OG was)

  • This may be me but on PS5 on my TV the UI is kinda small and makes map icons hard to see on the compas scroll. I'd benefit from being able to make the UI bigger as an option.

-If you are taking suggestions to ADD content I'd second a DLC update inspired by the Kvatch rebuilt mod. Its been long overdue for us to do something with kvatch post main quest.

  • It would be nice for some radient quests for post guild questlines like Skyrim had

Differentiate yielding for an offense caused while in combat (an accident) as opposed to yielding when you struck the combat opening blow.

Add a World Color Intensity slider like BO6 has. This basically enhances color saturation without messing with HDR, which could bring back the original game’s saturation for those who like it, while again preserving all the remaster’s graphical enhancements, LUT, etc to whatever degree people prefer.

My main gripe as many others have said is the difficulty. It's not fun going from Adept where it's very easy to Expert where enemies are absurdly spongy. Fixing Expert would be great but I know people would also love sliders to customize it like for example enemies do a lot of damage to us but we still do a lot to them.

I'm sure this is on here already a bunch, but give us some change to how levelled items work, please. Skirting around quests the whole game isn't exactly fun.
I understand for balancing reasons maybe you don't want people to coast through the whole game with the same weapon, start to end, but maybe an in between?
An idea I had was to add a blacksmith who can upgrade stuff to its full potential, but needs a rare resource of some kind to do it. Then have only so many of that resource in the game, so you have to pick and choose which weapons you want to upgrade if you got them early. Waiting would still work the same if you choose to do that.
I think this would add some depth and freedom to the whole ordeal that is levelled items in this game while hopefully not breaking the balance of things AND giving players something else to do in the form of hunting down the resource, whatever it ends up being.

If this has not already been suggested:

Currently, all Khajiit are forced to have the beard/sideburns, even though the preview icons suggest this is not intentional.

While obviously I hope this bug gets fixed soon, if it indeed is a bug, I also think it should be a separate option not connected to hairstyle.

Having separate options for hairstyles and facial hair for Khajiit, even if there's only one to choose from for the latter category, would be extremely appreciated.

I, among many others, are really sad we can't accurately recreate our Khajiit characters from previous games.

The button mapping system on PS5 is currently not working. Pad is stuck as wait and I cannot map start button.

When I press start button it should take me straight to save/load page but it takes me to wherever I was last in the menu. Makes quick loading very sluggish and cannot establish muscle memory loading/saving.

Please allow us to wear pants with robes. Maybe add gloves. This way mages aren't forced to wear clothes + Wrist Irons for max Enchant slots, especially constricting for illusion characters with the armor spell effectiveness mechanic

In my opinion, Blunt is in a far worse place than Blade. Armor cap is extremely easy to reach in this game. While the silence perk is awesome, I don't think it compares to the raw 30% damage output + higher speed of blade, even with it limited to "normal" weapons. Knockdown maybe? Admittedly I'm hoping you give knockdown back to hand to hand

Make vampires "Seridur" like at stage one, with no changes (they are suppose to be undetectable lore wise when well fed, this is like super power tier according to books like "Immortal Blood") and increasingly gaunt and haunting at later stages. This one's kinda nit picky and my personal taste.
