Does D.E.R.E.K have any quests associated with him or is he just a companion. I got 2000 credits and that mod is in the pool of possibilities.
Havn´t fully used it yet, but so far it seems "only companion with comments". No quest tag either. but he is fun.
@empty furnace I used DEREK for a few days. No quests, he's just a follower. I ended up getting rid of him because he eventually became annoying.
Like VASCO, he loves to stand right beside you and in the middle of doorways.
The Better Follower Behavior mod helps a bit with that. It's still not perfect though.
And Jessamine loves to plonk me in the back of the head during combat. I am glad I gave her an EM weapon. 🤦♂️

She's not hostile, just has atrociously bad aim.
I just went through the unity again and haven't done the CF questline so I would assume that she would be hostile towards anyone outside of CF. I spawned in Castillo and he immediately started shooting at me lol.
She's only on The Key to hide out. If you don't recruit her during that quest, she can be found on Gagarin.

does anyone know what the specific %'s for the various armor pen sources are outside of the perk? Like how much is Shattering? Armor-Piercing mags, Depleted Uranium Mags? Also any ideas how it stacks? Like is Shattering wasted on something with Depleted Uranium and the Armor Pen skill?

Check your Microsoft account. They might have a record of past purchases in your account. Same with Steam I'd imagine.

DownfallNemesis just released a huge update to the DreamHome. Wow, they did exactly to that property the vision I was working on completing bit by bit. It's a complete base of operations now. Absolutely perfect IMO!

Just plotting. I have a sacred save I don’t want corrupted- my first 100% of any game ever that didn’t glitch out. So I’m waiting til after the DLC… if I can. It’s hard to wait lol.

I never remember to use my starborn powers. So NG+ just doesn’t mean anything to me, I guess. No reason to go.
At least now we can change our traits and background so it’s like starting a new character kinda.
Sabine the Robin Hood-esque space pirate (galaxy’s worst pirate) is still in her first NG+. I skipped the main quest and I’m just collecting artifacts. Not much fun.
Making a save at the unity then I’ll leave her alone til DLC.
Do we know the drop rate of Astra? I've probably done 30 elite bounty missions and looted everything, among other random missions and haven't seen one
i only did the Starborn and Unity NG once in my first playthrough last year

I have noticed that weapons that don't have existing AVMS Simple/Complex in game have not been added to workbench and only replacers. Why is that? Just trying to get the thoughts of the community.
For instance there is literally zero standalone Novablast skins, there's others too, but this is the one I am currently working with.

I've been poking around at a similar space, and frankly it's very simple to just replace stuff. It's much harder to deal with the AVMS
I think I have cracked it to be honest, I am over the moon.
I think the option of the skin without replacement is the better option. It limits the options when it's not pushed to workbench as a standalone.

Just to be clear, you know that Crimson Fleet will be hostile to you unless you're in the Crimson Fleet, right? Spawned NPCs are exact duplicates of the originals, so they're hostile or friendly based on current status with that NPC and its factions.
I assume he's apart of the crimson fleet already
For me it's more like garrisoning Marines aboard my ship so I can deploy marines on the field at outposts etc
Can you also add a recruit NPC's option so they can follow you?
Just keep in mind there will be some roleplay involved there, since NPCs spawned on your ship will stay there, so you'll have to spawn some more at your outpost and pretend they disembarked from your ship.
Not currently, but I'm planning to tinker with that.

- Better Ship Part Flips (will delete some ship parts)
- Ship Builder Categories (will remove some ship parts)

- Ship Builder Retexture - Grave drives and Reactors - Black

I haven’t had any issues, yet. But I’ve had issues with sword and water cooler mods completely erasing all buildings and interiors in both Cydonia and New Atlantis
Is there a mod that makes outpost building easier. Turning things goes from zero to lightspeed in 0.1 seconds on a mouse.
there's a game setting you can edit for that: under Controls, then scroll down to "Outpost Item Rotation Speed" and set it more left to make it slower
I think it only shows if you're actively in-game though

Anyone else having an issue with the Starfield Hair+Beards mod (by zone79) where it just randomly puts some weird tattoos or marking on your character's face? How do you fix that
It happens to me too. It fixes itself when you load into a different area. But if your an asthetic person like me - it is annoying.

No. You can upload the mod, state TESTING - DO NOT DOWNLOAD in the title and/or description, then test it. If it doesn’t work then remove it and rework it.
But on the Xbox PC version you can just drop the file to the game directory and test from there.

unfortunately most are tested they just don't experience the issues players do when they play it
Adding a new bounty category to the existing generic mission board.
It's... weird? I got it working slightly, only from a fresh save file and the quest log for it was missing, but the custom ship spawned and the reward credits were given.
They ignore Requests all the time unless you speak with mod creators personnel like spamming them
I've been looking for a similar mod but all I've been able to find are ones that duplicate the mission board or just tweak the numbers on existing bounties.
Going to have to disagree with you on that. Yeah, some may be tested but I can guarantee you that most haven’t. I know developing a mod is exciting but putting forth the effort into testing something is 1/3d the battle.

There is a category for faction mods, but the ones I'm copying, the ones for the generic mission board, don't have it. Not a "genericfaction" either, straight up "nome selected"
Haven't looked at mission boards at all, but I know that stuff in the CK seems to have more linked items/objects/scripts/etc than you might expect. Check everything mentioned on the ones you're trying to copy

I've got a couple pages of notes so far on what kinds of items/etc are linked together, been trying to get some skin work going
Been there done that got the t-shirt. Even had a bit of a fart where, copying the script from the existing space bounty (since I was pretty much just making one with a custom spawn list), I forgot to change pointers to the new quest. But I got that all fixed long before i started getting to appear on the board.
Hence why I'm looking for the inverse of UseInfo, since that seems like a more direct route to understanding what all gets put into the existing stuff, cause I'm fairly certain I've got everything. Both the quest stuff, and in MB Parent, and in Script Event SM tree

- don't even need every slot, but at least the first four cardinal directions represented. Left and Right on the Pack (relative to the side indicated), front probably on the chest, and back maybe at the belt just below where most packs end?

Not exactly true. Some people know how to set up load orders. Those people should not experience horrendous problems such as Cydonia interior being non-existent, or New Atlantis buildings disappearing from a water cooler mod lol

there's a more traits mod that mentions they couldn't make mutually exclusive mods not exclusive so it may be more difficult than it seems

Huh, update via CK seems to be working normally, and it reflects on the website, but on the Creations menu in the game there's no option to update, and deleting and redownloading is treating it like it hasn't been updated...

I was looking at the .of that has the double Decker long Stairway two story and was thinking with this Ljg walkways on the side it would be cool to have an engineering room with an. Enclosed long grave drive and Reactor. In it.
okay so NPCs always chill at their ugly desk they won't do anything else, so if someone made normal furniture like a bed or chair or work area that had the same properties of the crew desk that draws them to interact with it, you can purposely place different things for them to interact with?
every time I try something towards my goal of a Starfield City Sim some mechanic of the game gets in the way. guess I gotta wait a year 😦

Potentially; some NPCs only sandbox in their original locations, or at least their original cities. In my testing, this can mean weird things like some NPCs acting normally on your ship while it's parked at New Atlantis, but then standing still while you're in space somewhere.
Other players have said all their NPCs sandbox just fine, but maybe they're not using them on ships like me, or they're only happening to use NPCs that don't care what location they're in.
I was a bit hasty in adding these new ones, so I'll need to go make a couple of changes and update again. You shouldn't need to do any delete mod/load save/save game/download mod/load save shenanigans, since I'm not messing with the box contents this time.
My testing (anything not listed worked as desired):
Crimson Fleet Captain is spawning Security Captain
Crimson Fleet Crew is spawning Security Crew
Ecliptic Male and Female Friendly aren't friendly
Pirate Male and Female Friendly aren't friendly
Resort Guest Male and Female never spawn with the swimsuit, only the different other resort outfits - might not be able to fix that
SysDef Recruit Male and Female are hostile to Starborn, but neither they nor Starborn seem hostile to anyone else - not sure why
UC Recruit Male and Female are hostile - not sure why
UC Tactical Robot Model S is hostile, and if you attack it, other UC NPCs become hostile to you as well - not sure why
United Colonies Officer Female is male, and is hostile, even to each other
Cool; none of these were caused by a mistake on my part; the base NPCs just act weirdly and are normally given factions and hostility/non-hostility in-game rather than via base actor.
So, I'll need to see if I can find any alternatives, or just relabel some of them.
Heh, the LeveledItem for resort clothing that the resort guests use won't allow them to get a swimsuit unless they're at the Paradiso beach. So, if you spawn them there you can infinitely steal swimsuits with my NPC Clothing & Inventory Control mod, but otherwise they'll just have other resort attire.

Yeah, I noticed that some of them were, but it seemed to depend on which other NPCs were around. Most of them weren't hostile by themselves in my testing (except United Colonies Officer Male - he even hates other copies of himself, lol).

maybe you can figure out the difference. outpost beacon doesn't do it. (I know it's likely not the mods fault though)
I updated again:
- Crimson Fleet Captain and Crimson Fleet Crew are now actually Crimson Fleet (I had to use alternate actors as the previous ones I used seem to be built into Crimson Fleet at runtime rather than by default)
- Replaced Ecliptic Male Friendly and Ecliptic Female Friendly with Red Mile Security Male and Red Mile Security Female (Ecliptic Unaggressive actors don't seem to be unaggressive by default, so these are decent replacements)
- United Colonies Officer Female is now actually female (and isn't hostile in my testing, unless someone is hostile to her)
None of these require reinstalling the mod; just update and off you go.

Hmm, going to the desk is kind of sandboxing. Spawning dead is a faction issue that I hope I got right for the next update
Yeah, it depends where you spawn them, and sometimes on quest progression. Try grabbing all the rings and just going down the list. In my testing in space aboard my ship, about 15% of them sandboxed and the others just stood in place. But, in the Lodge, the majority sandboxed. I'll play with making a mod to assign NPCs AI packages later, so hopefully all of them can be useful if desired.
Updated again to see if I can make United Colonies Officer Male non-hostile (at least to himself, if nothing else, lol).

Really difficult to get me defensive hehe. Remember, I'm an OldBard. I got plenty of xp on getting feedback and fixing my glitches (just not audio ones)
If one goes hostile, load a save and test the next one. Once you've got one hostile, others might follow their lead and become hostile to you as well.

Those should now be friendly; I had to replace UC Recruit Female with UC Recruit, and UC Recruit Male with UC Test Pilot - there aren't gender-specific friendly UC Recruit NPCs, unfortunately. But, at least I've added UC Test Pilot 😁

@dapper galleon UC Tactical Robot Model S has also now been replaced with a less-likely-to-be-hostile version of the actor I found. In my testing, he's now good to go as well.
Let me know if there are any other UC NPCs acting up and I'll see if I can find an alternate version that doesn't.

Hmm, I haven't tried that sort of thing yet. There were mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4 that did that for those games, so I assume it's possible for Starfield as well. However, I do recall some of those mods causing serious problems when BGS updated things in the main menu, to the point that players had to uninstall and reinstall the entire game to regain access to the main menu and play again.

No, it caused those issues in those games, if I recall correctly, when BGS made main menu changes that didn't work with those mods. It may have just been Skyrim when they added the new Creations stuff. It's been a while.
Yeah, I had a lot of fun with (making and using) Skyrim and FO4 mods. I'm probably not done with either of those, but I want to focus on one game at a time so it's Starfield only for the moment.

Well, I appreciate it. I didn’t know about the issues in Fallout 4. I know there was a mod that stopped the Fallout 4 title card from coming up and I had custom music on that game, too. But it’s been a while since I’ve played it on my Xbox One X, so it may be completely broken nowadays. Lol

Is it not possible to link a Load door to a custom InstanceableInterior cell? Well I can link it up but actually having the load door load the InstanceableInterior cell in the same manner as the default cave POIs is not working. No loading occurs, both with an AutoLoad door or traditional style. You just get a little open and close animation and no location tagging as you would expect from Load doors. This is also the case with traditional Interior version of the cell from a POI, unless I coc to the Interior cell in which case I can take the door back to the POI but then the worldspace is broken.

I'm hoping the snowglobes eventually respawn in their locations because I can't recover the one I lost.
what the game really needs is the ability to choose the alt universe we end up in, and then make bundles of different universes, like the stargate, star wars and etc. and let us travel between them by hopping through the unity
I think outfits are more in depth than a lot can commit to for a custom. imagine sinking a lot of time into it for free then having to put even more hours in bc it's not exactly what they pictured. you also asked at 4am EST. I don't think they can ask for payments either

InstanceableInteriors appear to be built during gametime, rather than truly exist beforehand. From my testing, I can't even MoveTo into them.
I did some searching afterwards and I found one post out there where three people say they will after a period of time. I'll wait awhile on Venus and have a look later. I'll post back if I'm successful.
Has anyone used the Mantis Vigilante mod yet?
I got it to somewhat work the best I got was the helmet but nothing else and then I tried to move it in the load order now it doesn't show up at all 😕

What is it with mods on xbox that mess with the audio i had 2 now so far that completely removed all in game audio that being the end objects axe and the gut buster rounds for more weps it says if audio issue put on top of load order for xbox but that doesn't do anything still removes all audio

Ive spent 3 weeks trying to set up an empire to access every resource in the game, and surveying the planets and working around bugs. Had to keep restarting because there wasn't a system to seperate resources as they come off the cargo links. Hopefully a smaller radius won't affect my current outposts
Have you tried universal stash? It's worked wonders for my outposts
Ive seen it, but i felt it would take away from the experience a bit, went with 6 cargo links on the main planet and will just link them to crates and scroll through each resource on every planet, then unhook the cargo links and rinse repeat

It should work with that; this just allows you to loot them while they're alive, or equip/unequip their clothing/spacesuits/weapons/etc while they're alive.

Fun thing I found playing around with map markers in CK, there's actually a marker for the Va'Ruun city of Dazra.
I don't know if this is from the development of Shattered Space or if Dazra was meant to be in the base game but was cut.

Hi all! I'm hoping somebody out there might know or may be able to point me in the right direction regarding how to get custom sounds into Starfield/Wwise. I know there is a very helpful tutorial for voice lines but i'm working on a mod where i need to play a custom sound during an effect sequence and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get a custom sound to show in the Creation Kit. I have no Wwise experience the correct version install and have applied and been approved for an Indie license so i am able to successfully build Soundbanks if that is required. I have created a Wwise Event in both the Creation Kit and Wwise and can play the audio in Wwise but the event is not carrying over to the CK. Does anyone out there have experience with this so far or know where to look for relevant info?? Any help is much appreciated!

@autumn idol probably not correctly. I've never used Wwise before so I am bound to be missing something. What I have done while testing things out is, opened the Wwise "Starfield project" copied an existing "Event" renamed it and saved the project to see if i could get that to show in the CK (not adding my custom audio at the mo just to see if i could get it to come across) , then in the CK, load my plugin, check if I can see the Event when creating a new "Wwise Event (CK version)", confirm i cant see it. Go up to the top where it says audio and clicked Reload Wwise data, still cant see it, then choose Build Soundbank for active plugin which does successfully build a bunch of files under "Data\Sound\soundbanks. When i was trying the first time around with actual custom audio I was able to open these files it genreated and search for my Wwise Evetns and they were there but they wouldnt show in CK. Also, noticed that if you dont have a Wwise license it wont "Build Soundbank for active plugin" due to the amount being over 200 which is the limit with no license.

I noticed that if I don't exit the game and quit and restart after moving or doing anything in creations menu, such as download update or re order, before loading or starting a new game, things got screwed around. I don't know for sure but since I started doing that it hasn't happened again.

There is a lot of cross saves and verifications between your Starfield on the device and the Bethesda Creations server. We have no info direct from Bethesda of course. But the Fix from them indicates the issue is known and they plan to fix it via an Update. Once the file on Xbox or Desktop is corrupted only the procedure in the document fixes it so you can play again. My assumption - is the handshake is interrupted in some way. It might be something within the Starfield (Creations section) and the Creations Server/s. We expect to never know the answer. One day it will just stop those issues.

I've been having a lot of trouble trying to hookup a POI I made to a worldspace in planet Pluto. I've followed the procedure I found on a youtube tutorial (previewed a block of land, cut it using the landscape cutting tool, created both a location and a worldspace, and added an overlay to Pluto).
The thing is, the worldspace looks completely fine when I inspect it on its own, but when I go to the overlay on Pluto it doesn't show up how it should (or at all), and when I load into the game, the assets I placed load perfectly but the land doesn't. What did I do wrong? If I have to provide any additional screenshots let me know.
If you meant about all of the decoration stuff, I agree. However, Skully's mod is different in that they include a lot of very rare and (normally) unattainable stuff.

When I was a newly-promoted NCO in the army, I was made a company signals NCO. I used to get constant calls to come out and fix issues with platoon radio sets...oddly enough, the people who often called on me to fix their stuff had the exact same comms training that I had.

So about this issue I have, should I just keep whatever worldspace that was assigned when I choose the overlay on Pluto? Honestly I've been trying to get it to work even comparing other POIs and how they were made but nothing seems to work.
I didn't add much so I could rebuild that exterior again, it's just a shame because I think the mountain I choose to build on was pretty good.

Anyone know of an Xbox compatible mod that significantly reduces POI inside settled systems? The ones I see currently only reduce POI density out in the boonies. I found a nice spot to place an outpost on Jemison, however I'm literally surrounded by other structures.

When I build on jemisom, it's usually around the snowy areas in the mountains. Definitely less POIs there.
anyone else having trouble downloading new atlantis crafting hub or redownloading your saved load order with it in ?
Keeps freezing the game and I have to delete the resereved space or I get infinite "reloading" in the top left
Judging by the screenshots from that mod, the placement of it is going to cause issues from the get-go, as where it's supposed to be is one of the spots where there are a couple of random events, such as one with the kid Bobby when you first visit New Atlantis. There's another with Freestar Rep Chisolm there as well.
Ancient Mariner is very picky about its doors, I've noticed
load order now downloaded without new atlantis crafting hub so its got to be this mod :/
I removed it from the library on bethesda.net and all is ok
As I said, I believe it's because the game may be trying to load in one of the various random events where it's placed, but can't because of all of the workbenches being in the way.
Of course, I'm only going off of one of the screenshots.

Akila also has some nice beaches without the POI nonsense, at least for me... Only issue is that it's minus the nice forests.

Very nice. I've built about 20 or so outposts in various biomes and eventually got rid of all of them. Beaches, in the water, on mountain tops etc. Now, I'm settling in one spot with the DreamHome and the view. My last major outpost was on an island on Codos and I was there for several months...until the CK dropped. 😃
Is that the one and only island you can build on in the entire game, by that one ship someone was telling me about in the Rangers (🤢) questline?
I need to look up the coc code for that ship so I can just teleport to it and set up on the island without doing that questline. 😂
You can build on any island. I had another outpost in the middle of a large round Lake way out in the boonies

Most of the ships in orbit around major systems have stopped moving l. Does anyone know what could be causing the issue?

it contains every material .mat file and this .ini setting essentially tells CK to not look into that BA2 file and instead check the loose files and since you have unpacked that archive everything looks pink because it doesnt have any valid material files (which kinda responsible for all texture file links to your mesh)
well if you're using the same mods that cause audio glitch then no ..they didn't remove them yet.
I'm not, i remade an audio mod. Still doesn't work
so it makes you lose all audio on Xbox? that's what they're referring to
Also, with the update: A few extra new Bethesda made mods, price of the old ones are the same and none of the verified creations support achievement still

so they're referring to a different issue than you are.
Could be but they also say "Removing this functionality will bring Creations in line with how they work on Skyrim" which is simply not true because in Skyrim they work, differently from Starfield.

if you can't upload mods with altered ini files to CC for Xbox Skyrim then that's all they are inferring

I'm just confused bc none of the message talks about fixing your issue and you're acting as if it did.
While I'm not sure exactly what was causing it, I cleared almost everything starfield out except my loose files I was using for projects, and reinstalled both starfield and CK, remade the Custom ini being careful to not have to copy it from anywhere( or atleast as little as possible, and re-extracted the material files, and my material editor is working correctly again.
Because they didn't even address it properly to begin with, it's audio related just the same as the one they claimed to have fixed
Something along the way was messing with the comlex mats, because my common materials were rendering

as explained to me materials have inheritance you need to have every parent for every material extracted to be able to view every material.
For some, updating is sufficient, for others it is done manually
Yeah I had done that before, but something messed up at some point whether it was a custom material or soemtehing else, I was able to reset everything so all good now

Yes. SWF for example, grass INI is another. But none since the December update.
It's probably just blanket coverage to keep the problem from getting out of hand while the real fix is in the works
You mean why they're mostly 1.0? It's the default value and it doesn't mean much, you can put any number there, it's more for individual control

Don't get too attached to the version numbers, mods can be updated without changing the versioning number if they want to. If a mod has an update, you can find it and hit the update button, i think there's also a "Update all creations" options in the menu
That mod you linked is version 1.2 in it's page, last updated in june 25th, maybe you have an update available for it
we don't have the update option on Xbox. has to be deleted and reinstalled. best to back up load order 1st
That's the load order, not the mod page itself, look it up individually. Also, you can just press the start button to find the update all creations option
We do, it's right there when you open the mod.

Nah always been there, the "ENABLE" option becomes "UPDATE" when one is available

Maybe it's case sensitive, or the author marked it as work-in-progress, which hides it from searches. Look it up in the library section
All mods you downloaded or acquired show up there
I tried searching for "lore-friendly traits" in xbox series x starfield creations menu thing but it does not show up in search results and I pressed the update all button but it told me that no updates are available.
What you bookmark in the website will show up in your bookmarks tabs
Press LT to open the search filters and look for it under LIBRARY
Just gotta exit and re-enter creations

But the website is far better for searching.
His mods are all still up. Bookmark or add to library on the website, refresh your in game creations menu by exiting and going back in

If you’re stuff doesn’t refresh, completely shut the game down, wait 2 minutes, get back into it

For xbox series x starfield, It is not in my in-game creations menu library. Also I cannot remove a couple of not installed creations from my library and from my bookmarks.

Maybe the reason why it is not showing up is because "it is/was placed in the wip(work in progress) section which(for some reason) xbox series x starfield does not have in the in-game creations menu".

A few days ago, I had a box pop up in creations letting me know that there were updates available. I haven't seen it before or since lol.
I had the option for 1 day and never saw it before or after
I was able to update two mods right from the box that appeared. I've never had the "check for updates" dialogue in the menu work for me though. It always says there there are no updates available even if there are some. I guess it's all WIP.
