Got my ALF3 420mm during the intro prices
it s like 10 bucks more, i should have got that, but my 14700kf will eventually end up in a nas so
formd t1 with atmos 240 and 9800x3d 😍
anyone know how much better 9800x3d than 7600x in single core performance
kinda unfair to ask, cause one the generational improvement from 7000 series to 9000series, but the x3D of the 9800x3D being flipped for better heat management no longer causes the 9800x3D to perform worst then a 9800x, and they managed to utilize the cache to help them somewhat in single core performance, no idea how on that last part, but you no longer see the vache causing a single core degradation anymore
but if you are thinking about upgrading, it's worth
cause the longevity of the x3D series is top tier, and you get all the generational improvements ontop of increase in core count from 7600x to 9800x
i see, thank you
i will probably require a liquid cooler if i decide to upgrade, wont i?
demolish
they fixed the x3d cache ccd clock being extremely low
good air cooler with negative CO should be enough
or actually
if you are unlucky
you might not be able to go low enough
with pbo + co
On the 9800x3D even with negative CO runs a but toasty without a cooler rated for above 150 tdp air or water, though if you set your own motherboard limits in pbo you can get a 10-20 degree reduction with only like a 1-8% performance diff in peak single core
Atleast from test benching a couple different motherboards with the 9800x3D at work
what negative offset were they maxing out?
I'm curious
mine is fine at -30
Messing with mb ppt and tdp had better results with better stability for ones that weren’t stable on a high offset
What board(s) you testing with specifically?
Bitwit was able to go past -30 apparently
When I go back in I’ll need to grab the SKUS tested
crashes at p95
None of these parts were mine so idk off top of my head
how did they test it?
the stability i mean

Didn’t watch it fully
That’s the vid I heard from
Me finna watch it fully in a bit looks interesting
please tell if there's any heavy testing outside r23 if you do
mine was fine at -40 in r23 too
with normal active clocks
but p95 was crashing the pc
Better shape dat curve
I've tried it for a bit and then just disabled all the steps
yeah i guess adding some voltage for max and high clocks would be enough
instead of going up to -30
but i dont have to to play with it now
I mean isn’t that the point of curve shaper - to fine tune specific points?
even adjusting LLC might be enough
it is
Me when my 5800X3D couldn’t go past -30 because that’s the limit

This is the most insane mini PC i have ever tested! Why has NOONE thought of this before???

This 7950x is being capped at 65W >:(
Really hoping to soon see the iGPUs on X3D get the 780M or better iGPUs like with Ryzen 8000 series
Friendly reminder Windows 11 only comes in 64-bit so you can safely delete the legacy folder System32 now
me when my 5800x3d reaches 93*C when downloading a game on steam
with -negative 30 CO
old aio dedge
-negative is positive
🤓
Lmfao wait a -15 got me all the way from 90 to 75 while rendering
I thought I might need a better cooler.
LLC helps with steam downloads cooking cpu, I have my LLC on level 6 pretty droopy voltage, but it keeps it at 60c spikes max, never any temps higher under max load, or spikes, and my aio I’ve had since 2018-2019 nzxt kraken x73
A warning: I treat NZXT krakens the same way UserBenchmark treats AMD
I mean going on nearly 8+ years with the aio and it has been through a
Ryzen 9 3900x,
Ryzen 9 3950x,
Ryzen 7 5700x
Ryzen 7 5800x3D
Ryzen 7 7800x3D
And it’s still 20-30 idle, 50-60 peaks
I’ve put this aio through torture it’s lasted so long in perfect condition
Not a single bent radiator fin
Pc has flown with me many times and never failed me
5800 to 7800 crazy
Oh I have no doubt for quality
I just… have a gripe with NZXT AIOs that require a little special Universal Serial Bus and thus require Dr. NZXT Cam
Oh
You don’t need that
My 3 fans and pump are all controlled via motherboard
Never installed nzxt cam
Oh good
just take the L at this point
gonna try some manual undervolt
guys is this a good build
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, GeForce RTX 4060, Corsair 3000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
for a friend
i dont like 4060 but
im already £200 over budget
lmk
get phantom spirit for air cooler
its the same price just slightly better
since the 50 series gpus are coming out soon maybe just wait for that and get a used 40 series card
how soon tho
like
idk
black fridya is soon
prob could get a chep chep chep 4060
january
yes
the 4060 isnt a terrible card at all like ppl say its just priced horribly
i mean
if you can get it for $200 or below id go for that
its like
250 pounds
but like
the amd gpus around that price are worse performance
and the 4070 is double the price
and the 3060 is the same price
you can get a used 3070 for around the same price
i dont think he wants pre owned
bad exp in past iirc
where would i even buy pre owned shit from
ebay?
yes
or fb marketplace for local
but if you do fb marketplace id test the gpu before buying it
ebay gives u buyers protection
@obsidian lion
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7600, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
thoughts
it was no where near his budget
so i opted to go 7600 instead of 7600x cuz it comes with a cooler and is £10 cheaper
i opted to go red instead of green, trading out the 4060 for the 7600 as it saves money and is the same performance~ (also he doesnt care abt raytracing, dlss etc)
opted for 4000d airflow instead of 3000d cuz save money cuz black friday deal
went for a 1tb ssd instead of a 2tb cuz of budget
different ram
unfortunately cl36 but i dont think he cares abt ocing or anything
Be warned!!!!!
There are some overclocking enthusiasts here who think everyone should overclock and anyone who doesn’t is a pussy.
-# Be careful what you say next. You have been warned.
well hes literally a retarded person
like if he tried to overclock his house would burn down
hes never had a pc before
hes buying his first one EVER
he is not going to overclock
Yeah that’s fine in my book
I think this works out alright
Maybe a motherboard with slightly better VRMs for if he decides to upgrade within the same platform
Other than that this is solid
If you want my advice
Go parametric so you can see his bare minimum needs and then filter from there
I really wish more people went parametric
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER, be quiet! Pure Base 500 FX ATX Mid Tower
This
Instead of picking a very specific part
i mean i think i could get his bare minimum within like
400$
its like
he just wants a good pc to have a good pc
hes only gunna be playing roblox prolly
and he wants to start video editing ig
That’s where you’d narrow the margins
Just don’t make the filters as far out to the point utter shit parts slip in
😭
i mean i dont know much abt pc parts i just like have made alot of very informed decisions like idk
ive built like 7 pcs irl and made like 15 pcpartpicker lists so far 😭
remember to stress test for more than 24h after every thing you do!!!!!!
I do believe that everyone should stress test for a full 24h stock
i get bored after 1 hour and then just roll back clocks like 50mhz and call it a day
has worked for me with both cpus, gpu and gpu mem, but i really should be banned from ram overclocking since I fuck it up every single time by not stress testing in good enough conditions
degrade
If that amount of time at stock causes degradation my entire PC should have exploded 7 times by now
you can degrade imc if you stress test more than 30 hours
team does the r7 5700 need a custom cooler or will the stock be fine
alr
get phantom spirit 120 for $35
🐐
not for me dw
ik i was just asking cuz he is on hella budget
i alr told him to buy phantom spirit 120
he bought the wholke pc now
lowest negative curve offset he can do stable, set his tdp and ppt limits right below recommended, and he should be looking at a good 75c all core 100% usage on stock cooler
with only about a 10% performance drop on average and good gaming temps aslong as he isnt planning on running intensive dx12 games
tis fine he bought phantom spirit 120
i get 100 in city
w 4060
1080p
not native
dlss and frame gen
throw that in Content\Stalker2\Content\Paks\~mods
so far the best guide I've found https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/132?tab=description
averaging 130 outside of the city
i just found out dlss frame gen bugs out on some locations making it unplayable no matter what gpu youve got, only solution is to disable it
still averaging 80 without it, turned dlss to quality
also the memory is leaking everywhere, i have to use https://github.com/IgorMundstein/WinMemoryCleaner to somehow mitigate that
can you send a screenshot of how you set yours up ?
Can a Asrock Challenger ITX RX 6400 fit into a DELL OPTIPLEX 3050 MINI TOWER??
this is the pc
he means this pc
no i dont
I already explained the differences
srsly
Mini pc (smallest 1) sff, and then the mini tower (biggest)
lmfao
5600x starting to cough, problem is my wallet wont allow me to upgrade 💔
what games do you play?
turn off svm
disable core 0
try with smt on and off
Dis what I'm building rn a lil budget build
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, Radeon RX 7900 XT, NZXT H5 Flow RGB (2024) ATX Mid Tower
u should go am5
I would but my brother is giving me that CPU for cheap
So I'll just rebuild when I need to upgrade
Do you already have other parts or are you buying everything
I really advise against building an am4 system from scratch rn
Even if u get the cpu for like 30 bucks
^

Hi team I have a 2060 and I have like 280 great British pounds and I want to upgrade gpu
Was thinking 4060 or rx7600
Do u guys think it’s worth
Ok
B580 perhaps?
What is b580
Ic
What used do u think I should aim for
Probably like a 3070 or smt
if you go that route you'll be at the level that I'm at from 2022
I mean you could maybe get a better 30 series card on the used market if you look for a good deal
Idk about amd cards
I disregard anything 6000 series
i would say 7000 series except for the fact that av1 will be forever fucked
Guys what websites u recommend for pre owned parts (gpu)
I got a 3070

are there any decent 14" laptops around $1000 with good touchpad and nice battery?
preferably with good linux compatibility
i was thinking about getting used m1 macbook pro 14" form 2021
but my previous mbp journey ended after 2 weeks with me returning it (it was an intel mbp tho)
usage: mostly writing & coding, some web browsing etc, no gaming
for (non-gaming) performance, battery life, etc, you can’t really beat macs

theres no windows/ linux alternative?
im afraid i wont like macbook again
Nothing will beat the cost:performance of macs
even with TWM this time
You could just get a surface or something
Just get something with good reviews, a lot of ram, and a good cpu
maybe i should say around 1000eur instead
macs are a bit more expensive here in eu
My advice stands
and if i would get one it would be 16/512 most likely
t14?
why
fuck that thing
also it doesn't have a good battery
and awful small touchpad
wait
pretty sure you can get 86wh for like 10 bucks more
touchpad point remains
yea fair, the touchpad on 14inch thinkpads are small asf
its big enough on the e16
still meh though
big touchpad with haptic feedback instead of buttons >>>
i didn't enjoy my previous experience but part of that might be because I've had intel mac
i7 9750h
and it was quite hot + loud
system experience wasn't the best too but that's mostly because of a small things like no transfer speed when moving files
how stable is it this days?
also does the sleep work well?
ngl if it worked well I would be tempted to run hyprland on it with asahi
if it's even possible
hmmm
Apparently you can even game on it now

Shut up
Would a ryzen 5 7600 and a rtx 4060 give me 1000+ fps in minecraft
Assuming that I have lunar client or some sort of optimizations as well
Which gamemodes?
And what res?
1080p
Just 1.21 survival and bedwars etc
don't get a 4060
you would get the performance u want
but get the like
6800 or something
Rx 6800 (non xt)
if you can find an Rx 6800 xt second hand for like 300-400 then ur getting performance that OBLITERATES the 4060
it's not like the 4060 is a terrible card, it's just horribly priced which makes it not worthwhile to any degree
horribly priced is a stretch tbf
it's not priced well
but not horribly
there are so many better options that's the thing
it just has crazy market popularity because lots of pre builds use it
yea
I can find a second hand 3080 ti for less then 4060 MSRP
100%
forgot abt the 3080 lol
yeah
but for gaming used amd RDNA 2 gpus are goated
lots of the 6000 series and 3080s are used for mining unfortunately
the only downsides are mining + the power consumption
6800 xt uses 300W compared to my 9060XT which uses like 160
idgaf tbf
and the 6800 xt is 10% better
it has higher transient peaks too
uhh
I think it's on par
the 7600 isn't great
👍
and the performance diff between 7000 and 6000 series isn't significant
p cheap for a NEW gpu where I live
it's just power draw diff mainly
sa
nah
y
it isnt
fb marketplace is better tho
ye ive seen that before
and check FB marketplace
nah u dont get that sht here
never ever saw 1 listing
prob better if u import it with myus or smth
prob like 6k rand includiing my us and sht
oh it is?
The issue is that it's outdated
ye
