#Free Time City Drawing

road
Wait did you make this in a music mixer
nah, acad
thats how roads are actually drawn on engineering drawings
well, roads with kerb
lmao
Ok I was a bit worried for a second lol
š
Does anyone make a kind of "adult coloring book" for these kinds of hand-drawn city drawings?
Like a drawing book, on solid stock, but with a different "scenario" on each page (rivers, topography, etc).
Would that even be of interest to y'all?
you could probably make you own with a topography map https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/topoview/viewer
this is a topograpy map for the usa
and you take pictures and print it out
other than that i dont think there is anything like what you are describing
that would be interesting though just too busy to make one myself
Would it be something you'd consider paying for if it was available?
Maybe in the future but not right now
barely expanded it (additional tile with only coastline, rivers, and three roads)
general idea of topography as well
This is based on a mixture of Montenegrin landscape and Montenegrin and Russian language. The places are named after the people I met and made friends with in Montenegro
^ drew those whilst on the plane (LHR - DBV)
nice roads
at first glance i thought the coastline in the first image looked like seattle
not really
osm š„
all these are pretty
Thas sickkkk
Thanks!!
Ukraine future highway map
Started a drawing class this semester for my civil engineering program
Maybe that'll motivate me to make another map in my spare time....
Perhaps during reading week?
Thas a sick scania on ur pfp cl
Cheers š„
I think so too. By far not the best Iāve spotted but Hadley group do have some gorgeous trucks tho
Honestlyy the colours work so well
They dont have much NG ones tho
Residential estate with prefab type buildings, and a tram and bus loop for better accesibility
What do you guys do for scaling?
Inspired by Paris in part, the train station is a (likely unnecessarily) bigger version of the one in Leipzig with the two directions of rail mimicking what happens with Gare du Nord and Gare du Lāest in Paris.
I put trams on the large avenues, bike lanes are pinkish.
For scale, the distance between each dot is meant to be 10 meters.
Do you guys think the streets by the church are a bit too narrow?
Wowzers
I havent done some in a long time but i usually base it off the roads and recently i have been using OGF and OSM so on there i usually js use the measurement tool
Something fun if you want to try it - Autodesk gives free student licenses for high school students and university students for AutoCAD, which is what professionals use in the real world for these sort of ordeals
Yeah, I've been learning how to use it in one of my courses and hopefully I'll be able to use it as much as possible in my university years at least for other things
Itās hard to make realistic looking natural features in AutoCAD, good for rough models for buildings and cities though, I might take your advice and try creating a city in it
It defenitely is tricky with CAD - I don't use CAD at work but whenever I do urban design reports at work I'll CAD plans and then import them into a paint program (Illustrator for me) and model them out that way
Nothing wrong with using other programs I just find CAD easiest with units, etc. makes sure you're always in scale
But whatever program you're using it looks really good
Iām using the apple equivalent of MS whiteboard, good enough to allow me to zoom in
Thanks for the tips, if I have a free couple of hours I might try modelling a building or two in autoCAD, it really just depends on the amount of detail Iād eventually put in
Sign me upppp
Is this avaliable in the UK?
I think it's global, I'm in Canada and had no issues with it
Oh alrr so how do i activate this deal?
I don't think I can send links, but search "Education access to Autodesk products"
Autodesk is the creator of AutoCAD
Then, from there, you can go through and get AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT
Just follow the steps in there
I'd recommend AutoCAD LT - it's more simplified
It'll just ask you to confirm your education details, etc.
When I had robotics in high school they made us use solidworks
I never got the certification for it though
I can readily access a bunch of things (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, Revit, etc.) through my university's engineering computer labs (and even remotely access the labs)
Not sure if you have centralized school board logins like this
Hell I just did a Rhino 3D exam this night using this system
It was a crazy ride...
I was the only person who had technical difficulties accessing the files using the special login system, so I lost ten minutes at the start
That left me a bit jittery and I made a couple of mistakes as I drew the bridge segment in 2D before extruding it
But the real chaos started when I tried to do a section cut and completely whiffed on getting it to appear correctly in the third angle projections
So I drew the rest up to course drafting standards and worked on the section cut at the very end
Figured it out 5 minutes before the end of the exam for everyone else, but I got a deserved lifeline with a 10 minute extension
Which allowed me to correctly draft the section and hand it in for a possibility of full marks (I finished with two minutes to spare out of the two hour time limit)
Thankfully I managed to destress from this by doing a chill fibreglass layup on a canoe with friends
I used Fusion 360 for this purpose
I now use SolidWorks on a university design team
More of a mech-oriented CAD program than a civ one
I'm starting to learn BIM stuff in class though (Revit)
You think itās good to be on a design team for civil?>
I use Onshape but am a noob
Thanks tha worked
Whas autocad LT?
Just a simplified version of AutoCAD
For what you're trying to do I'd say AutoCAD LT would be the best
That's what our designers use at my firm here
Ive successfully downloaded AutoCAD thanks sm for tha man appreicate it
Ohh yea ill check tha out i downloaded Autocad Map 3D tho
So can i still access AutoCAD LT even tho ive already signed up for normal AutoCAD?
Iām not sure, if you have normal AutoCAD itāll do all the same stuff
I have the same question for you, because your drawing seems to be pretty well scaled
For example here, the cities seems to be in much larger scale than the surrounding areas
the distance between every two of those dots is arbitrarily defined as 10 meters
a driving lane is about 3 meters wide
and a parking lane is about 2 meters wide
I go on google earth to see how big the buildings are
Yeaa i realised tha its calm
why haven't I thought about it
So I was really bored and not tired last night š
Made this very confusing intersection for my OGF project
Reminds me of this: https://maps.app.goo.gl/bQBAUJ4oyTbWGjNb6?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
Ooh yea thas a really interesting intersection
Icl it reminds me of a turbine intersection w a lil bit extra
Long time since Iāve drawn any maps. Back at it again; welcome to Alazhymga. This city (capital): Alash/ŠŠ»Š°ŃŃ. Small coastline, very nearly landlocked huge country, Around Mongolia size. Capital city is on itās only coastline, itās a small port city. It is NOT the biggest city in the country. City planners somewhat took road hierarchy into account, with the international route passing through the country along the coastline between itās neighbours either side being prioritised, as well as the regional route connecting the city to the rest of the sparsely populated countryās road network. The suburban areas have been loosely planned in a grid system however a lot of it has developed in a sprawl like manner. The nationās economy is not great due to limited investment and natural resources.
The countryās landscape is majority steppe, with some sparse forestry in the far north. In some cases, there could be up to 250kms from civilisation to civilisation, only broken up by small villages. The country, like Mongolia, Tuva, and much of Central Asia adheres to a buddhist majority religion, and outside of the 3 cities and 51 towns, people live a nomadic, agricultural focussed lifestyle.
The nationās official language is Russian as it is a (fictional ofc) FSU country, however languages differ regionally. In the north, a dialect of Tuvan is primarily spoken. The dialect is very similar and is mutually intelligible. The west of the country is extremely sparsely populated, with only 1 town of notable size, and small villages scattered sparsely. The primary languages in this region are Alasian (a distant dialect of Tuvan. Pronounced: Al - asian (as in Asia)), Tuvan, Kazakh, Mongolian, and some other endangered dialects & languages spoken by less than 100 people in some cases. The majority of the population (1.9 million) live in either the capital, Alash, or in the 2 other cities, both located in the south. In the south, Russian, Mongolian and Alasian are largely spoken.
In the east, which houses the countryās only coastline & the capital city, Russian and Alasian are spoken, with small communities of Mongolians, Tuvans, Kazakhs, Uyghurs, Turks & interestingly a small diaspora of Thais.
looks nice!
Icl I havenāt ever done a hand drawn map in sooo long
I do love OGF, I haven't applied to any territory yet though because there's a fair bit you need to do to prove to them that it's worth giving you a territory, and in all honesty I cba bc i dont have the free time to do it all. I draw maps when travelling or late evenings, and I don't like to be at my computer late at night
Oh fair enough icl I used to do a lot of hand drawn maps but ever since I found OGF and even OSM Iāve basically transferred over
Found some of my old drawings
Love the detail
Thanks this acc used to be my most hated drawing bc i prioritsed scale and wanted huge cities but now i realise this is prob one of the best
Yeah more focused is almost always the best route at least for me. Itās easier to tell how life would move around that area than an entire city
Yea I see tha cl plus it looks more realistic
And more like a map u would find on google maps
Made some updates
So yesterday I was playing assassins creed Valhalla and I fell in love with the medival/viking age castles and forts. So last night I made a fictional capitol that I absolutely love
Reason: Bad word usage
Oops
As I was saying tho, this is so advanced, I love it. You can tell that it must have taken you a while.
Thanks you! Surprisingly it didnāt take me long, I probably spent 4 hours on it, itās part of a whole medival area that Iām creating.
Sick, Iād love to see more :D
Municipal airport for my city
Oh yo thatās sick
Thas niceeee
Thing is like you can only use one runway at a time
So planes would have to wait on the taxiway and than turn on when it was their turn
I could takeoff 045 and 225
Maybe it wouldn't be an issue as it's only a municipal airport
Also you probably wouldn't use more than two runways at a time due the wind
Yea thas a common design used in many regional airports or airfields
usually army airfields
esp in the UK
its set 30s/50s
an international airport for the city of Lublin
Then reason why this layout exists is to avoid potential airport closures when there are strong winds
Well thatās why you use 3 runways
If the window is going 36 say
Take 04 or 31
Try to ride the wind
If itās going 09 take 27
why dont u do ogf?
Its a bit complicated to figure out at first IG
especially when you are trying to draw a airport and other large stuff
JOSM is basically required
True i had struggled with that
espeically scale issues
but yk slowly but surely u start to get it
Yea ive tried making an airport asw the best i got to was one terminal building
if u put ur time into it then it isnt too hard
Finally getting to mess around in ArcGIS for the first time in years
any suggestions? completly made up btw
Ooh i think colour in the river so u can acc diffrentiate between land and water
it was all done in pen but i think on my next one i might
could color code the other large roads as well
Use marker/colored pencils instead of pen for filling in the road ROW
Use a ruler for some of the building
not at school lol
I am mostly done with stage one of my medieval world project, itās been a while since Iāve been sick, but hereās what I got so far
Iāve gone through a few different styles to test them out
nice
I used to do somthing like this, when I was a little one, I really enjoyed it
I have this giant 5 meater long peice of paper with a whole coutry on it (it is really unprofesional and messy tho)
Haven't drawn anything in a while so here's a WIP rail transportation plan for the Upper Silesian Metro Area
im going through my desks to clean them out and stumbled across this that i drew about 4 years ago
woah
Really nice
Damn your lane markings look really nice
I could never draw something that good lol
That is amazing
Here's a city I drew a couple months ago(doesn't have much, and the scale isn't consistent)
Thats nice tbh
good start
we all started somewhere tbh
scale doesnt really matter in this its more if it comes together in the end which that has really well
:))
And here's something I'm drawing right now, that diagonal portion is inspired from Segunda Beach commercial corridor in ep 1
Thats a good start
Honestly i havent done paper drawings in so long mainly bc im doing OGF
so i dont have the motivation š
It's like playing Cities: Skylines on a piece of paper ā¤ļø
Exactly sometimes when the scale is close up
i put some little cars asw
and make some traffic
Here's a city/village thing I drew while at school today, gonna keep expanding it.
Also unmetalled roads are just a single line, the 2 parallel lines that start on the left part of the img are double train tracks. And cross the river at the top.
Left part I said because the image is rotated sideways btw. And those dotted boundaries represent farmland. The wide road is a hwy.
How can I get started with these? Is there a good beginnerās guide?
itās real helpful to look at an area youre familiar with and want to use for inspiration and take note of some patterns
and then just sit down with some paper and pencil and dont overthink it
Tbh i would post but i do most of my work on OGF now
And theres only so much time in a day where i can do everything
So how is that city thing I drew?

Oh yea mbb
This actually has potential
I think some colour would make it nice
Ye I'll colour it eventually after I made a part that I'll not change. (I pretend I'm playing cities skylines like this lol)
Yeaa na tbh I used to do that
I used to make a map and colour it all in the end
Cuz I would map and then sleep and think of new ideas š
Its a nice thought tbh sometimes if the scale is tolerable I add a few cars
Traffic
Nd all
Inspired a little off of it!
honestly, your map is already looking cooler than my maps
Hey, thanks!! :)
Getting started on something new- basically a revamp of the map I posted a few days ago go but much better
I should start making maps again fr
Just fun to sketch out little areas. I do it as a way to mentally clear my mind. Quite therapeutic⦠and also because Iām a nerd for urban planning haha
This feels more like urban design than planning tbh
Planning is very policy and analytic focused
I kinda use a mix of both- urban design first and then I go in with rules and laws to throw at areas to fix them
Which is why itās done in pencil
I use zoning and policy laws typically from Upstate New York, Montana, and Washington. Forces me to use diversity as my drawings usually try to mix in every style of American cultures that reside in different areas around the country
Need to continue my one fr
I also like drawing maps lol
Who doesnāt?!
The problem is whenever I start on them, I never get to finish them
Lack of motivation to do so
Same
I got bored so I started a napkin city welcome to Naptopion
thats a strong napkin if it didnt tear
I was surprised when I started also a very good pen barely had to touch it to draw
pretty clean lines too thats a good pen
Indeed it is Iām glad I choose that one instead of the other I had otherwise it wouldāve looked like a meteor hit it
That is neatttt
Tbh with my drawings i usually use british planning habits
roundabouts
and roundabouts
and more roundabouts
Guys I havenāt done city drawing in a whileeee, any suggestions on a project I can do to get me started up again?
England and American mapping style Combined
Iāve never done a British style ever so Iāll have to do research
I refer to my map drawings as art.
Found this recently
A suburban office park inspired art piece
Cul-de-sac hell. The disconnected isolated cookiecutter neighborhoods of an exurban township along a major interstate.
Zezon Corporation's global headquarters campus.
Zezon is huge and their campus sprawls across dozens of buildings. Many of these buildings on the surface appear to be isolated surrounded by grass with a few foot paths with large vents interspersed. This is because the parking was being moved into large under ground multilevel garages as a way to make the campus look "cleaner". As all the building are connected by underground concourses. That are also integrated into the underground garages.
The campus also has its own metro station seen in the bottom left corner.
These drawings are old from like 5-10 years ago. I have not done any recently
Gosh still though
Itās so good
Thats acc impressive
I swr I need to make complicated intersections like this at some point
That looks amazing
M8 extension to Gyƶr forming a large southern Budapest bypass
M76 extension and Keszthely grade separated bypass
added some more detail
cool
Thanks
something's cooking
roads in ToruÅ WIP
finished
Drafted up a motorway sign for my fictional city in OpenGeoFiction
you inspired me to draw a sign for the ToruÅ PoÅudnie interchange
Ooh that's actually nice
Anyways here's something I drew in a 5cmĆ5cm square
Random city with a whole Key lol
Oh and I forgot, the black pen line with the thing is the train line with a station
Double track
looks nice
concept of north-western bypass that would cut down half of the forest
decided to join this thread since i jsut finished this. Northern urban/suburban area of Tanner city
U should make the highway roads a thicker density
The detail is amazing
Put this together while trying to sleep because I had one too many red bulls šš
Looks good but what the hell did you do to those suburbs
very very exaggerated
I dont remember if ive posted this one, but i was digging through a book i found and saw this one that i drew up a while ago
This looks like something that a civil engineer would draft tbh, this is great!
j
Any good 0.5mm lead mechanical pencil should work
Whats a regular wood pencil
AYYYYY
I see that RON server
You have to constantly rotate to have a thin top
Yeah ive noticed
I was bored so i made a downtown single point interchange + offshoot road diamond esque
Drew this up on CAD for my engineering assignment so i figured id share. For context we have to make a design for the reprioritization of a rural highway (essentially converting from rural use to urban use). It roughly complies with Australian standards
Woah that's amazing
They are the worst cuz they go blunt within 5 minutes
And that
Ooh I've been tryna get the hang of CAD
Never did šš
I had to use an electronics and pcb cad and hated it
Cant imagine this lol
It really is difficult at first, like theres alotta different function in CAD, let alone civil3Dš
but after working at my firm for almost 2 years ive got a solid grip on it now
I did also make a roundabout for the same assignment
i like how the white shows where the road used to be
im not an actual citty planner so can u explain what CAD is or is it only an education thingy
nvm i found out how to use google
Solidworks is bad, rhino is kind of goated
SolidWorks is solidā¦for mech stuff
I use it for mech stuff but use AutoCAD for civ stuff
Although I was the only one in the class to do a civ CAD project using SolidWorks and it was chaos
I have learned Rhino but I donāt really use it that much
diabolical fictional interchange i cooked up for downtown Utrecht, the Netherlands
epic
Autocad is primarily used by Civil engineers and as a planner I am not a math guy and I mostly use GIS and art programs for making graphics and maps
Should a lane be 1 block or 0.5 block wide on graph paper?
Depends on the scope of the map
Whole block wide is generally easier for neatness for straight-line segments, but I also don't really do lane drawing
im getting back into ts
been a while since this thread was active but starting a lil osm style map in microsoft pain
without layers
why not an osm style map using josm software
theres a collaborative project im a part of that does that
oh this chat is super cool, let me see what i can contribute lolol
Finished the map of all bus routes in Lublin
technically it's not all as it's missing the Green, White and 9XX lines, but these are terminus - depot lines
I can vouch
j
j
...not 50 miles but more like 10
or 5
(Refer back to old planning school thread)
@vernal vigil @tight knot
You're gonna have to give me a bit more context
post a pic again
This is a continuation of this archived thread: #933994686325096518 message
man i didnt know that thread was a thing
ill post my most recent project here
taking some inspiration from dcs georgetown area
but added light rails around the middle areas of the stroads
Thanks yes thatās what I am talking about
Nice šš»
DC does need tramways tbh
Anyways I think most high streets have a shopping centre/mall on them
Well high streets near me do except for a few that are just short pedestrianised streets with a row of shops. <@&787910105185124392>
Currently in progress of making a university campus
Nice
I might have to start drawing a city š that looks really cool
ikr its actually pretty relaxing making cities like those once you get into it
Iāve been drawing cities since my 6th grade year
Iām currently a senior in high school
Why canāt I draw š
I canāt draw
It looks so pretty
I used to draw giant cities out of my imagination when i was younger, they were bad drawings, but i wanna see if i can find some
Thats a beiatiful drawing
This is an example of an oitline for a large metropolitan area i drew. It has way too many freeways(i have others that are even worse) idk what any of the stuff really represents anymore tho
I drew an airport on the otherside
Oh ye I used to do drawings like that
Looks like a countryside
Here is what I have been working on (North)
There has been major development since I took and posted this picture
This is another part (Central)
I canāt find a name for it tho
I have the name Bennington and Clinton
But I need to think of more because I think thatās not good enough name for a UK based city
Those are some really nice drawings
Very pretty š
Thanks š
Has anyone got a name for my city? I canāt think of any
Ummm idk
Emberton?
Ederton?
Steaton?
Brookton?
If yur going with the british theme those soud alright
Drarenham?
Idk literally just taking words getting rid of a few letters then addind some others, and then adding in a british town ending sounding thingy
It depends on where you are wanting to place your city. Given the design I would say it looks more like one you would find in the UK or France, or maybe some parts of Spain (although given the large river in the Central location, is would go with the two former areas. I then look at those areas for naming inspiration by changing an existing name (like @lunar sand did) or mashing up different names.
Take for instance the Central city area. It reminds me of Rouen in France because it is a large city that straddles a large river (the Seine) with an island in the middle (Ile Lacroix). The city has major arterials going through the center has the major connections are roundabouts.
So you could look to Rouen for some naming inspiration
Then if you would like to mash it up with an English name (or any other UK country), you could look at the common prefix/suffix usage to that area (prefix: dal-, aber-, nant-, sud-, etc.; suffix: -ham, -ton, -ford, -bury, -stead, -borough, etc.) I would take a look at the meaning of the prefix and suffix as well to see if there is one that aligns with the city, like -bury means fortified enclosure, -ford means crossing or road, dal- means meadow or low-lying area by a river, or nant- means ravine or the stream in it.
So you could then take these pieces of information and create something like Roueford (Rouen + -ford) or Ile Dalford (ile + dal + ford = island of the meadow by the river crossing)
Also take a look at historical and ancient names for inspiration. Lets take a look at Rouen again - the Velocassi tribe originally called the city Ratumacos, and then once the Romans conquered the area they changed the name to Rotomagus. The city was also fought over by the English and French for hundreds of years with some changes to the name that eventually resulted in the current name.
Hopefully this helps!
Oh, and this goes without saying but names can also be after people, geologic/geographic features, animals, etc. So it could be Fourloford (4lf + -ford = 4lf's crossing or road, like you crossed the river at that location)
Ye Iāve also been trying that. I think thatās the problem
Oh ye that is a good way to find a name
Looks like someone already thought of that
I just thought, what if I join 2 prefixes and it makes: Hamton
Or aberton
Obv some prefixes mixed together donāt sound right but some do
Or Amberton
Hmm Iāll think about it
You know @misty crow your map drawing strategy is very good for copying real places or copying other maps such as in games or in google maps
That is true! And I have done that before, haha!!
I am ordering a new set of pens though that include more colors so I can really start to differentiate between areas (more for other people who look at my drawings rather than me).
Any update on your drawing?
How is yours coming along?
Will show when I come back Iām currently nowhere near my drawing atm
also I did a terrible attempt to make an arena/stadium on the university campus
I finished it Iāll send a picture later
I am making a more countryside area even more north than now because I copied a map from a game and thought hmm I can integrate it into my city so i did
I was a coincidence actually my city was very similar to the map
So I could just move some roads to make it extend
Which I did
Ladies and gents the campus is officially done
The cluster of blocks near the middle are dorms
The big block on the middle left is supposed to be a hospital
The big block beside the dorm is an arena
And above the hospital is the stadium
This is coming along quite nicely! Good job on integrating the college campus into the city but still making it distinct. I also liked that you chose to break up the grid and started using more curvilinear streets. Now, do you have a plan for a central train station?
Yes but Iām not good with trains
Iām more of a road person
I started making train tracks on my maps not too long ago
I do
Nice
The problem is Iām not very experienced with making train tracks so Iām not very great at building a train station
Iām a road kind of person when it comes to map making as you could tell
Donāt they have a lightrail already
just design it like the normal buildings but with the train tracks running through it
Iām aware of that but the train tracks are the complicated part to it
Bc they go all over the place
kinda? they have a single streetcar and a peripheral light metro under construction
@misty crow
So I finished the north of Amberton (My main city name). Then there is Moyton which is a small town and Castletown which is a village
Castleton is the one surrounding in countryside
That looks really awesome!!!
I did find it interesting that you have two parallel highways in the north though. Are they the same caliber or intended to be different?
New updates on my map coming soon, will release here today maybe
Ight cool
You gonna post it? @brave cargo
thats nice, its developed so much since the first time you showed us
im kind of getting bored of this project, but i want to finish it, its normal for me to feel this way about all of my projects after working on them for a while
but i do have big plans for this project
want to be able to colorcode the zoning on this map
I get that way as well. Sometimes I find it helps to take a break from it and work on something else, then circle back around.
Same but i am more commited on the project I am working on now rather than my last one as the scales were all off, the houses were smaller than the road and stuff
Ye I do that as well
I think itās an artist thing to do that
Sometimes you get bored
That's absolutely beutiful
Thanks š
New project
Iāve been told to put more taxiways in the airport, but Iām too lazy to do that
Lots of work in progress
That looks really awesome
Nice looks cool
so nice to know that i'm not the only one who draws maps lol
Lol ye I always thought that too
I think this shows good road networks to allow the traffic to flow!
I agree actually
This looks awesome! Good job on the airport
I havenāt drawn my city since the start of the holiday
Part 2 is here (N) | Part 3 (NE) Soon
Changes:
- New Bridge symbol
- Road routes on main roads added (e.g: A789)
Dual carriageway is (e.g A34) in a box
hmm, looks really good
Thanks š
I recommend watching Citydrawer on tik tok
Here is the progress I have made on my drawing so far. I have not had a desire to work on this drawing so it is taking me a lot longer than usual to get it done.
I also will probably be switching up the pens so I can have a more diverse color scheme, really try and use the colored pens to match the zoning colors
looks really cool
Looks very nice šš»
I think that would be a good addition
I donāt use tiktok
oh k but his drawings are awesome and could give you some inspiration
I have been able to watch his videos just by Googling him, you don't need tiktok to actually watch the videos
@brave cargo
?
yeah i did
I think thatās the perfect design because there are enough houses on a row before it gets split by another road
Maybe colour the water blue with colouring pencil
you just reminded me, i should continue on my drawing
I am back to enjoying drawing again. It is a nice a stress reliever.
for me, its a stress reliever that i cant do long term
Same but I can do it long term
- hides from tiktoker
Bro I aināt those cringe ones, itās ok
Cool little project I just started
Nice šš»
That looks like a great start!!
I actually made some progress on my map this week
@brave cargo how would I make an airport and a college campus, How big should it be roughly?
I would find college campus examples in real life for the scale. google maps is SUPER helpful to zoom in, see layouts, understand size, etc
i would take some inspiration of real life airports/campuses and how they are designed, and it honestly depends on the size of the real life scale
Oh thanks guys
Yw
Drew Dallas freeway loop by memory, no images looked at intact I didnāt look at the loop at all for an hour before that
Thatās sicc
I havenāt really worked on my city as I am taking a break and drawing other things
I got my first brief. So basically we are doing a picnic to celebrate the Queen's Platinum jubilee at school and we have to make a poster that shows our class and the queen so we decided to go with a London Bus, London Post Box, People holding hands around a globe, Map of London labelled with landmarks and the Bitmoji's of everyone in our class. I also requested a Range Rover with the Jubilee colour scheme because the Queen loves her Off-roaders. I am doing the Map, Bus, Post Box and Range Rover
I have finished the bus but i need to add the Platinum jubilee livery, i didnt draw a routemaster but i drew the new Enviro 400EV
The Enviro 400EV i am basing my drawing on
The post box is the easiest
2 Mins Max.

Looking back that looks computer-generated but then if you zoom in you can see the felt-tips, how do you keep the paper so clean? I always have grey paper, due to pencil lead, by the end
I try not to draw when its hot here, lol! I usually have a kleenex or paper towel under my hand to avoid any sweat or smudges. Also, when I draw my ideas with pencil and I get a design I like, I wil lightly erase the pencil before I go over it with pens.
