Sooo I just got a kick of wanting to start skating again but I’m starting from zero as I haven’t skated since seven. As you could guess I’ve severly outgrown my board and gained quite a bit of weight (I’m 260ish? Everyone in my family struggles with weight) so I’m thinking about buying a new board but would like to know if theirs special boards for larger people or if a normal board could support that. And also I need a good brand for such things I can trust (idc about publicity I just want one built well I’ll probably get a blank one so I can paint and customize it myself because my favorite part of anything you keep on you often is making it look good)

a normal board could support you just fine, maybe go for a wider deck so you feel a bit more stable

if you're really worried about it, Powell flight decks would be your best option

those things are damn near indestructible cuz they're made with like fiberglass but the downside is that they're kinda expensive

Hey guys I’m struggling to get my back foot on the board when doing Ollie’s. Got it a few times once rolling. Only tried a handful in grass or carpet. My question is, is it a sin to get the muscle memory of just jumping and landing my back foot on the board while on carpet. Or should I strictly be learning on concrete. I KNOW it’s because I’m afraid to commit. But i don’t really know why I’m afraid like I’m at peace with falling and hurting myself. I think the feeling of jumping and landing on the board is really foreign to me. I’ve been rolling around for about a month now I can do manuals a little bit still working on them. Tic tacs are fun and I like going down banks it’s a fun rush. Just really want to get these Ollie’s down in the process of having fun. TLDR: is it okay if I get the muscle memory of landing on my board down on carpet before concrete.

Id have to look at the actual size but the wheels I roll with are I think 55-56 but the important thing for rough terrain is wheel softeness. Dig your nail into your wheels when you buy them and you'll find softer wheels, if you have large cracks everywhere you'll likely want a bigger wheel just note how much faster it's gunna make you at the park. A soft 55 mm wheel is pretty universal and you'll hit alot less death pebbles the trade is you grip rails and ledges more when you lock in so more speed

Ive skated for almost 20 years wont deny im trash cause i cant fliptrick but ollies and grabs n footplants are my best im still having issues on grind cause for most of my childhood i was not very much allowed to venture to skate brothers had to walk with me n i didnt get the freedom till late teens so idk
