That's a deep question. I am not sure. Obviously music is an important topic, and definitely something we want to talk with y'all about in the future. If you have ideas and such on how to integrate music into the game - I've seen requests for Spotify, local files, radio, etc. - make sure to share it in the #skate-ideas-threads-archived - or check the archives to see if it's already been suggested.

That would take a lot of tech - and when games do that, like the SSX reboot did with the mountains, it required specialized equipment (including satellites) to get the geometry and such right. It's a neato idea though. I was in Vancouver the other week and saw a dope spot where local skaters were throwing down right in front of a big stadium. Graffiti on the walls of the pizza place next to it.. total vibe coming off that area. That would be a neat place to see in a skateboarding game.

Fun fact: Game companies always want to give extra creative tools, but the few bad eggs (or wannabe edgelords) take it to the extreme. Content Moderation is a beast of a thing to implement - because you want to do it right without a heavy hand but you also need to ensure it's consistent.

Having worked on a lot of games where folks can make emblems, etc. - even with in-game tools - we saw a lot of bad stuff (hate speech, sexual content, etc.).
(This comment isn't related to the next skate. game, just based on personal experience as a lifelong gamer and 12 year industry vet.)

There was another game called s& box that did something similar to this and only a smallish select of people out if thousands got picked to test the game and so many people were mad when they didn’t get in. The devs just didn’t want so many people playing the game so early which is understandable. I don’t know if this will be the exact same scenario but yknow, it could go however, we don’t know for sure.
