Due to regional import laws and restrictions, some countries are not eligible. (I mentioned this regarding the first content contest). When I lived in Austin, I was hit at least 2 times while longboarding.
Once, I was walking through a crosswalk with my board in hand and a car turned right without looking and I ended up on the hood. The second time, I had the little "go ahead and cross" guy in the signal and was rolling across the crosswalk when a car overshot and pulled into the pedestrian crosswalk. I bounced off his fender and my board went under his wheel.
That's the only problem with bombing hills solo is you don't have folks watching for cross-traffic.

That first one has almost happened to me once, I was skating with my bro and we had been heading to In-n-out, when we got to the second crosswalk, this one car going like 40-ish stopped right on the crosswalk about to make a turn, but this was as we were walking. I almost got hit by the car, but thankfully, my brother yanked me back just in time.

The first one - i had a concussion and ended up missing out on going out with my friends on St. Paddy's day. Ended up with bruised ribs the next day from landing on the hood.
The second time, i had a knot on my head and fairly good shoulder bruise from impacting the front panel of the car.
The real loss was the fact I had my board for 3-4 years, had skated in Japan with it, and ended up getting a big crack in the middle. I got a new one (exactly the same) and then Sector 9 stopped selling that design... UNTIL THIS YEAR! (Currently waiting on it to arrive so I can retire my 8 year old board.)
