I think if they don't at least try to top skate 3 people will be disappointed

moving to a new engine is going to take a lot of dev time

but I feel like they're going to have a bigger dev team and more time to work on it

I will say I'll miss the particulars of the Skate engine and the way physics works in it but they have good people working on the sequel so they'll probably make it pretty faithful

Skate 3, for all its improvements, made a lot of compromises so I don't think topping it will be THAT hard

they had to compromise the single big open world for multiple smaller ones for instance, that won't be an issue in the next game I'm sure

I'll miss the jank pedestrians from Skate 3 but I'm sure the improvements they make to them in the next Skate will make them fun in a new way

the one thing I'm looking forward to if they add it is more skateboarding on moving objects

grinding on cars, trains, etc.

other moving objects like maybe animatronics, roller coasters, ferris wheels, stuff like that

that feels like the next logical step to me aside from the simple stuff like adding more skateboarding moves

I feel like it will be easier to implement now that physics are more robust with more powerful systems

in Skate 3 you could do some of that with props but it took a lot of work to set up

and skate 3's physics engine was pretty unstable with the props sometimes, that will definitely be fixed on a new engine and more powerful hardware

memories of trying to reach higher areas with a long pole and having it go flying

oh skate 4 will definitely have offboard controls and although I'm sure they'll keep them kind of like skate 3 I wouldn't mind slowing your running speed to a more, realistic human level

to better encourage being on your board more when it's feasible

Having ladders to climb to reach higher areas / being able to place ladders in the prop dropper would be a thing I wouldn't dislike

having to stack ramps and long poles all the time is fun in its own way but I think being able to put down ladders would be a QOL improvement when trying to climb buildings

and the evolution of glitches I discovered to get up there easier

I'd been trying for a while to figure out how to do something like that with that particular manny pad because it has a really bizarre center of gravity that I think is actually outside the bounds of the physics model

the easiest location to do the superdude launch glitch is right next to that roof

I helped Cr1tikal get the superdude launch glitch and get on that roof in just a matter of minutes after he had never tried the glitch before

once you know the timing and what to aim for getting that glitch to land is not actually that hard

just takes some patience

aside from that there are a few other glitches that help get you up there, there's the manny pad stacking glitch, the RB launch glitch (although it's a bit tricky to actually make it up there)

Micro transactions bad. If this game had microtransactions instead of unlockable stuff in game then it ruins it. Too many games have gone down that route. I wanna unlock stuff in game, not through my wallet. The only way it would be acceptable is if the microtransactions are ONLY vanity stuff, and stuff we can unlock passively without money. Gives grinders happiness, and gives people without free time happiness. What I don’t wanna see at all is “1200 skate wheel points for a Danny Way Hawaiian T-Shirt” then all the shop sells is 300 points, 500, and 1000. Man I guess just what I wanna say is don’t ruin what could be the next most popular skating game for decades to come with microtransactions designed to fleece us (granted that’s just how microtransactions feel in general now)

I’d gladly support the devs with real dlc like Danny way Hawaiian dream (a map and clothes pack) but lately microtransactions just feel lazy. Not calling anything out skate, but the whole market has been bad lately with it.

Honestly if we could just unlock it in game then I’d be fine with microtransactions but it’s when I see someone online with something cool and find out I have to pay 15 bucks for it is just mean. Skate to me has always been about unlocking everything myself and beating it. It’s part of the game if that makes sense. However I will pay 180 dollars for a Danny way Remaster and I don’t feel bad about that

Skate will make so much more money with f2p and micro transactions though because some people may not buy a 60$ game but if they see a decent f2p game they will most likly download it and if they like it enough they will most likely spend money on it

Honestly, make “real life” versions of the vanity in game like the Mayo clothes, or what ever other cool clothes will be in game and you’ll make money of that, maybe not as much as microtransactions but skate fans would flip if they could buy some of the in game merch. Also I understand if they tried to get away from it but can we keep some adult themes from previous games? Like the Baked shirts or the think green board. While we shouldn’t be like filling the game with stoner culture I think having a good mix would be good. Honestly only people I know who skate smoke and i like the ability to represent. Sadly I can understand getting rid of it because it’s well yea, but I hope they keep it

I have a lot of faith in the devs tho. They seem to really listen to the community and the creators. However if upper EA tries anything I wouldn’t be surprised
