It's really similar to a ickflip, but instead of shifting your foot outwards from the ollie position, shift it inwards so your toes are a little off your board with your heel firmly on the board and use the same foot motions as you would when you kickflip but sliding your foot in the opposite direction and kicking with your heel rather than your toes, and, as always, remember to raise your knees, catch, and repeat

I consider them sim-arcade. THPS is arcade, XL/Session is sim. To me, the skate. franchise sits right in that sweet spot in the middle, allowing you to go either way based on your play style and handling of controls.
